UGA can win for two weeks in a row, Ole Mess is their new name and if the young pups eat their chow and get their sleep it looks like it will be a cake walk in Oxford next week.

But folks getting two wins against two horrible teams does little for a program that is not living up to the hype and the expectations of the State of Georgia, UGA Alumni, and its fan base.

But congratulations on the win, it beats being 0-3.

Why is it just what the doctor ordered? So we can prove we can beat up the little guy? It actually just makes the Dawgs look more desperate and foolish. And now that USCe looks shaky, the Dawgs look shakier. Ole Miss will play lights out to save their coaches job. UGA? Who knows? Miss. St. is not a gimme by any stretch. Now Vandy looks better than they have in years. I thought Tenn. hung tough with a surprisingly good looking FLA team — so Knoxville is not gonna be easy. Everyone, including Murray, talks about running the table. Does anyone really think that’s in the cards? Based on CMR’s recent body of work, I sure don’t. My true feeling is McGarity waited a year too late to hire a new coach — he was on the Florida sidelines today. But then, that’s the Georgia way. Day late, dollar short. Wake me when it’s over…

Yep. Who could argue with a Kool-Aid drinker? Delusions of grandeur are just the ticket — just what the Puppies need right now — just what the doctor ordered. And just in the nick of time for an away game against an SEC under dog. That always turns out for the best, doesn’t it??!! Especially for an SEC team looking for some success . . . any success . . . that they can point to. A team that knows well how to just go through the motions, or if by some chance, playing a good game, how to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Good win Dawgs!

But what does it really mean? Does it mean we are a contender in the SEC? Probably not. Does it mean we can contend with second tier divison one teams? Probably. Is this where the Dawg Nation wants to be? Probably not. Should we expect more out of the Georgia football program? Yes. Why? 1- one of the top football facilities in the country, 2- great booster and fan contributions and support, 3- great recruiting classes …. just to name a few. The facts speak for themselves, we are trending down, we are not feared in the SEC, we are known as a team which cant finish. LOOK AT THE FACTS…… they cant be disputed….
1-GEORGIA is a combined 0-5 against Top 25 teams in 2010 and 2011
2- GEORGIA has lost 10 of its last 12 against ranked teams. (2-10 record)
3- GEORGIA is now 15-14 in his last 29 games
4-GEORGIA is 6-10 in the past 16 SEC games.
5- GEORGIA is 3-5 in their last 8 games going back to last season
6- GEORGIA has won 1 of it last 4. (and it wasnt a powerhouse we beat today)

LETS SEE WHAT NEXT WEEK BRINGS WITH MISSISSIPPI

dbc, I totally agree. Muschamp is the next great young coach and we let UF have him because we needed to hang on to the coma victim for one more year. I watched the UF game and Muschamp’s fire and intensity was unreal. He will win Florida another national championship and we will continue to be their b**tch every year in jacksonville. I guess the pollyanna richt lovers enjoy getting beatdown by florida every season. We have the recruiting base and facilitues to be a big time program but the richt lovers don’t want that. It’s okay that were mediocre because our coach is such a good man seems to be all they care about. I want change.

Florida is the only remaining team on our entire schedule who is ranked, and they are not very good. So, the question is are we going to lose them, again, too ?

Ohio State

Running back Jordan Hall and defensive backs Travis Howard and Corey Brown received impermissible benefits at a charity event they attended earlier in the year and were suspended for NCAA violations. Six other Buckeyes were already suspended for NCAA violations- including running back Dan Herron, wide receiver DeVier Posey, offensive tackle Mike Adams and defensive end Solomon Thomas, who all will miss five games as part of their involvement in an investigation that led to the departures of quarterback Terrelle Pryor and Jim Tressel, who is now replaced by Luke Fickell. Terrelle Pryor stand-in at QB Joe Bauserman connected on just 2-of-14 passes for 13 yards in defeat as Ohio State was 4 of 17 passing for -0- TD only 35 yards in the air, and threw an interception in a 6-24 blow-out loss to Miami of Florida, who just had lost giving up 32 points in a loss to lowly Maryland. Neither Maryland nor Miami of Florida, obviously are ranked. Neither is Ohio State, now.

“Florida is the only remaining team on our entire schedule who is ranked, and they are not very good.”

Ohio State………

I think the Tennessee QB, the Tennessee RB, and the Tennessee head coach would strongly disagree with you. Florida IS good…..and they are going to get a lot better throughout the year. They are also very young……..

“Muschamp looked and acted like a complete dork…”

Destin Dawg……..

If a dork is a head coach winning, not losing, the first big SEC East game……give me the “dork” over the “non-dork” every time. Florida will be 4-0 when they play Bama under the lights in THE SWAMP. And something tells me the Bama QB and RBs will have their hands full with very fast and talented defensive linemen and linebackers as well. Not predicting a win just yet…..but it is going to be a hell of a football game.

TampaGator

pragmatic……..

Florida isn’t the real deal yet…….as they have a lot of youth playing in the secondary (2 freshmen and 2 sophs) that tend to make too many mistakes. But the Gators are working on becoming the read deal….very soon.

…….and I know you Dawg fans hate Chris Rainey, but he is a truly special football player. 100 yards rushing, 100 yards receiving, and a blocked punt (after scoring after a blocked punt last week). One of his runs last night reminded me of Barry Sanders when he played for the Lions. So HATE on him…but the Georgia players better be ready to tackle air in JAX this year.

Pelini-like.,….only in emotion……not in language. But I do think his emotions got the best of him in that situation. But I think he will learn from it……and I think Foley will talk to him about it. But he is one heck of a football coach…..and I am sure glad he is the head Gator. And Brantley looked OK last night too. But he still looks and throws to only one receiver. That will kill the Gators against Bama if he does not get better at looking off DBs.

Rainey looked good yesterday, but he always does against college players who take bad angles and tackle poorly. That’s not to take away from Rainey or Demps for that matter. For some reason, Florida coaches have mastered the art of putting all of their speed in positions to succeed. UGA seems to not have this kind of knowledge…hhhmmmm. And we are supposed to be a finesse, offensive minded team.

Muschamp does need to calm down though. It’s difficult teaching your players pro techniques, especially DB’s, and expect the refs to just let it pass. You get little to no lee way with college refs and bumping receivers down the field. It seems as if “some” of this is for show and the cameras. Just watched the replay of the Vols game…..and Muschamp was extremely unhappy with the refs for two consecuative calls at the end of the half. One was Jelani Jenkins running stride for stride with the Vols WR and both were pushing and shoving each other….the Vols WR pushed first. Yet, Jenkins was called for pass interference. Then, Da’Rick Rogers was running down the sideline and literally pushed the Florida DB to the ground before running out of bounds and then back in again to catch the ball. Nothing was called on Rogers. So, Muschamp is thinking-the Vols players can push Florida players down and nothing is called and Florida players can simply touch a Vols player and interference in called. I can see now why he was so mad at the refs at the end of the half.

After Mark Richt dies and enters the Pearly Gates, God takes him on a tour. He shows Mark a little two-bedroom house with a faded Georgia banner hanging from the front porch. “This is your house, coach. Most people don’t get their own houses up here,” God says. Coach Richt looks at the house, then turns around and looks at the one sitting on top of the hill. It’s a huge two-story mansion with white marble columns and little patios under all the windows. GT flags line both sides of the sidewalk and a huge Yellow Jacket banner hangs between the marble columns. “Thanks for the house, God. But let me ask you a question. I get this little two-bedroom house with a faded banner and Paul Johnson gets a mansion with GT banners and flags flying all over the place. Why is that?” God looks at him seriously for a moment. “That’s not Johnson’s house,” God says. “That’s mine.”

TampaGator

Flat tire…….

What am I worried about? Well, from reading my posts…..not much, except a very young defensive backfield…but a very talented one. Let me see…….Kentucky is next. Win. Then…the big one…..at night….in THE SWAMP……vs. Bama. Look for my ugly face on the 40 on the Gator side. Then…LSU down there. I think the Gators will give both Bama and LSU all they can handle. The Gators are just as fast and just as talented…..but much younger……and they will probably be the difference in both games. Do I think the Gators will win both of those games. Probably not. Bama and LSU are two of the top teams in the country…..along with Boise and Oklahoma. But I am sure that the Bama fans have some uneasy feelings with their team coming into THE SWAMP at night to face a 4-0 Gator team on the upswing. But I do feel the Gators have a better shot at Bama than they do at LSU….down there. But I am not that impressed with LSU’s offense…..so there is some hope there, too. But, most likely, the Gators will be 4-2 after 6 games. But the winner of the East will most likely have two losses in the SEC. SC, Florida, Tennessee, and Georgia will battle it out for the title….and SC has the edge on Georgia now…..and Florida has the edge on the Vols now. Florida just needs to beat everyone else in the SEC to have a shot…..and they can do that.

TampaGator

September 18th, 2011
10:50 am

Flat tire……P.S.

All Gator fans know how difficult the Gator SEC schedule is…..and all Georgia fans know how easy the Dawgs schedule is….by comparison. So…..no excuses for Georgia this year. Period. Florida with Driskell and/or Brissett at QB…..along with all their other young talent…..will be hard….if not impossible….to beat in the next few years…..lead by the brightest young head coach in the conference….and the best OC in the country….and a fairly good DC (Quinn) as well.

Florida beats a .500 team by 10 at home which was the line, and everybody thinks they are world beaters.Florida has one playmaker on offense, and he weights 170 lbs, give me a break Florida would be 1-2 if they had of opened up with UGA’s schedule instead of playing 3 teams that will all be .500 when season is over. They have no pass defense, and they have one player on defense the L.B. Bostic, who was second team all-sec behind Olgetree by the way.UGA&Florida are after thoughts for the SECE and SEC titles. Florida’s Q.B. is just like Murray, he has never beaten a good team, and he has never brought his team from behind in the 4th qtr. to win a game. You people sound like ESPN and it’s love affair with Fl. This Fl. team that you are so impressed with, will get it’s asses handed to them by Bama in the swamp, and LSU, and S.C. on the road. The UGA game will be a toss-up with 2 teams that are both has beens in the SEC. Someone might remind this clown that Florida has as a head coach, that he isn’t a D.C. now, he is a head coach, and he should start acting like one. He is nothing more than a trooper taylor wihout the cap on backwards. What a joke FLorida and it’s coach are now. This guy couldn’t carry Meyer’s jockstrap.

Tampa pass some of that kool-aid around would you. OMG, the brightest head coach in the country? The best O.C. in the country. And these 2 all-world Q.B’s you keep bragging on have never done anything. If i recall Murray was just as good as these kids coming out of florida, and what has he done so far. You Florida fans think everything florida has, it’s coaches, it’s recruits, etc, are all better than anyone else’s. You beat a .500 Tenn. team, with no proven head coach, the same team UGA beat by 4 touchdowns last year. Bama will not be impressed coming to the swamp to play your powerhouse team, and LSU and S.C. will beat florida on the road. So 3 losses and a 4th against Fl.State, and you think you have the best young coach in the country. You have a big mouth cheerleader, that will make a fool out of himself on the sidelines before the season is over. Good luck on your powerhouse team that just beat an average .500 team. Now maybe Florida can actually play a team with a ,500 record. Go blow your horn somehwere else, nothing Florida has done so far is impressive. If you don’t believe me, Tulane just lit up UAB last night, and they put 49 up against them, which is more than your great coach and your great O.C. scored against them. What a joke

Coastal Carolina (aka Myrtle Beach Community College)is the new definition of cupcake (FCS) and bulls**t nation want’s to gloat in the victory?…PALEEZE!

Now then, we have Miami taking the big 10’s Ohio State to the woodshed, Clemson laying-the-smacketh-down on your SEC Champion, Auburn, and GT teaching big 12 Kansas the meaning of the word “Option” (as in, I suppose they have the option not to play GT next year), and you guys want to say the ACC is not competitive? Again,…PALEEZE!

Why don’t you ask KU about how competitve the game was yesterday? They used phrases like “It snowballed on us,” and “…completely embarassed,” to describe the event that was called college football.

Boise LOL, FL would easily beat Boise by what I saw yesterday.

Flat Tire…..

Boise State is a top 5 football team. Florida isn’t that right now. So I doubt Florida could beat Boise at this time. Bama has a great defense. So does LSU. So does Oklahoma. So does Boise. Oklahoma and Boise have good offenses. LSU’s offense does not impress me much. Bama’s offense is based on a running game….not much at WR. So, right now, I would say Oklahoima and Boise are the two best teams in the country. Bama and LSU have much to prove on offense….and if they develop that side of the ball….then both replace Boise at the top. But nobody is going to beat Oklahoma this year…..based on what I watched last night vs. FSU.

WOW, what’s with the love fest with Florida on this blog? Florida beat a terrible Tenn. team yesterday, and now they are National Champions? Tenn. is a .500 team at best, and the UAB team Florida beat was beaten by Tulane by 46 points. So what has Florida done to make you people so impressed? Yes they will be 4-0 when Bama comes to gainesville, but beating 4 teams with losing records means nothing. Florida has one playmaker Rainey and that’s it. I will take Crowell anyday over this guy. And Florida has a terrible secondary, that is why Murray lit them up last year, and he will do the same thing this year. Because we all know Bobo will not try and run the ball. UGA&Florida both have average head coaches, if you can say they are even average. They both have Q.B’s that have never beaten a good team much less a ranked team. Neither team has more than one playmaker on offense or defense, and they both think they are world beaters. Neither team will play in Atlanta this year, so enough with the Florida B.S. Trust me Boise doesnt have a great defense Mike Bobo made them look special by calling 3 plays all night which you will see when we play FL because Bobo throws away a playbook and calls the only 3 plays he knows from memory

Our defense didnt even pressure Boise all night and Boise was up by 14-7 at halftime and they were 0-5 on 3rd their best RB who was supposed to be good had 24 carries for 57

If you think Boise will sit back and pass all over LSU or even run your sadly mistaken and I hope to see LSU and Boise in the championship game to let every know that Boise beat no one

Oklahoma wasnt that impressive to me because FSU defense was all over them and their D is not AL or LSU caliber

Not a love fest here for FL, FL will lose to AL and LSU thats no love fest but the way they are playing they will win the East thats all

SC looks bad against East Carolina, Looks bad in a 28 point give away by UGA, and Looks bad against Navy.

UGA cannot even gain a sack against Coastal Carolina middle school and FL is in Tenn backfield all day. Yea FL gave away part of the game due to tons of penalties but they still looked better than us

Let the Big Dawg Eat……

1. I have not read anyone having a “love fest” with Florida on here. God forbid.
2. Tennessee is hardly a horrible team. I guess they are horrible because Florida beat them.
3. Tennessee also does not have a “losing record.”
4. No one on here has said Florida is going to win the national title
5. Florida has a lot of playmakers on both sides of the ball.
6. So you will take Crowell right now over a guy that has over 300 yards rushing, had over 100 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving yesterday…..also blocked a punt…..returned punts for a lot of yards….made a great block on a LB to set up a TD…….and probably right now is the most explposive player in the SEC. Take your blinders off.
7. Florida very young seconday is terrible…..so terrible that the Vols QB….who came in with a percentage completion rate of 83 percent…..barely completed over 50 percent of his passes yesterday, with two interceptions…the Gators dropped 5 more. Yes, they committed several pass interfernces yesterday (two of which weren’t). But Mr. Murray will see in late October how the horrible the two freshmen and two sophs are……and by then they will have fully grown up.
8. Murray lit Florida up last year…….most of his passing yards came late in that game…..and I remember Will Hill and Jelani Jenkins lighting up Murray last year. P.S. Ahmad Black, Jenoris Jenkins, Will HIll, and Jeremy Brown did not play for the Gators yesterday (the Gator secondary last year vs. Georgia). All have left the program except Brown, who is injured.
9. Brantley and the Gators beat Penn State in the Outback Bowl last year……and Penn State was ranked at the time. It is Murray who has not led his team to a victory over a ranked team…and several unranked teams. P.S. Brantley is playing a lot better than Murray at the moment.
10. Florida’s head coach has an undefeated record…..and won his first big SEC game….and his team will be ranked in the top 15 this week…..HARDLY AVERAGE. Now, Richt is 1-2 and lost his only big SEC game….and is not ranked in the top 25. Now…that is below average.
11. Georgia and Florida have a good chance of ending up in Atlanta this year.
12. But….you were right about one thing…..

THIS IS NOT AN ESPN BLOG….for God’s sake.

That FSU defense is very, very good…..and OU put over 20 points on them. FSU’s offense is also good….and Oklahoma shut them down for most of the game. And OU’s defense is just as good as LSU and Bama….from what I say….they certainly are just as quick and just as fast….and extremely well coached.

It’s hard to gauge just how good this Florida team actually is at this juncture, but I would agree with TampaGator in that both LSU and Bama see the Gators as the biggest threat in the SEC East — so far.

You have to give SOS credit for getting South Carolina into the position that they’re now in, but that program has a long a history of not handling success very well.

Lots of football to play yet. Could Vandy make their first trip to the Dome this December? Stranger things have happened.

What impressed me about Florida yesterday was that Florida could put pressure on Bray just rushing 4 guys most of the game. Bray is tough to sack because he moves well in the pocket and gets rid of the ball so quickly, but Floyd, Howard, Ealey, and Powell put pressure on him all day. Also…..no one has been able to run the ball on Florda this year. Tennessee has minus yards rushing. But the young seconday…..although talented……is making a lot of mistakes (putting hands on receivers with the ball in the air). That has to get fixed if Florida is to have a chance against Bama and LSU.

P.S. I think Georgia is about to go on a winning streak and I think they will come to JAX with the game being a big one in the East. Even though they did not beat SC, they should have. Georgia is a good team….and they could become very good in time. The people that are down on Murray are nuts. He is one of the most talented soph. QBs in the nation. He just has to cut down on his youthful mistakes…..and he will in time. He will be a great QB by the time he is a senior…..when he, Bray and Driskett (or Brissett) will be the best QBs in the conference.

People are being more down on Murray because his throws are becoming more sloppy by the week. Yesterday he didnt look at all that good

Our backup Mason has come in and the times he has the passes have been on the money and again this is where our lousy coaching comes to play. Seeing that a good coach would bring in Mason some to see what he could do and possible put pressure on Murray to get it together

But our staff knows nothing about that

As for UGA yea we will probably win all the games up to FL then get out coached again. Until we get a coach that takes the FL game seriously we arent ever going to beat FL period. We have a coach that wants to blame where the game is played

Tampa get over your self and your wonderful powerhouse Gators. Tenn. will be lucky to win 7 games this year, and yes i would take Crowell any day over your little back. He has 300 yards rushing against who again? Oh yeah, forgot he ran wild on UAB and some other junior high team and an undersized Tenn. defense. You are such a blind gator fan, and you think your team is so great as usual. Just so you know how great your team is, Tulane scored more points against UAB than your powerhouse offense. You don’t have playmakers all over your defense, only in your mind.Your secondary is terrible, and you have one player on defense that is a playmaker, that being Bostic. Who was second team all-sec behind Olgetree. Hate to burst your bubble dude, but you have beaten nobody, and your little 170 LB. back has never done anything against a bigtime SEC defense. He want do anything again against Bama,LSU, and S.C. How did he do last year against S.C.compared to a real back like Lattimore? He did nothing. Go blow your horn somwhere else. The only person here that cares what you have to say about your powerhouse(LOL) team is flat tire. Maybe you 2 should rent a room down in Tampa and you both can drool over Florida’s version of Trooper Taylor. One last thing, it is funny how you think Fl will win in Columbia. How many yards did Lattimore put up on your great defense last year? Your all-world defensive line will get gashed by carolina and it’s veteren O.L. You can count on that, and the same will happen against Bama and LSU. See you in Atlanta cheering for Bama, LSU, or S.C. You want be cheering for Trooper Taylor and lardass Weiss.

I am not sure why Georgia has more poll points than Florida International. Georgia has a 1-2 record and FIU has a 3-0 record. Geogia lost to UCF 10-7 when they recently played them. FIU beat UCF 17-10 Saturday……and also beat Louisville up there. Much more impressive than losing 2 and beating Coastal Carolina……don’t you think?

We may very well beat Ole Miss but Miss State, Auburn, Florida are another story.

Folks, beating bad teams does not mean we have a good team.
It means we have an average (or less) team.

UF will absolutely destroy our Dawgs.
Auburn will open up with both cannons against The Dawgs and win.
GT may beat us if they can get things together – I believe they are more capable of doing this than we are from a coaching standpoint.

We may be able to beat UT but (like Ole Miss) if we screw it up we will lose.

The worst that could happen in my opinion is Richt winning just enough for him to return next season. If that happens then McGarity and Adams are to blame to the ENTIRE MESS that will occur next year.

Well, once again the CMR/CMB haters come out…even after a win. Yes, the whole Dawg Nation knows it was just Coastal Carolina…and that going in it was an automatic win, etc. But, 1. we blanked em. 2. we played the second string pretty early 3. we played the 4th string pretty early. 4. they looked prepared/ready to play from the get-go…eg no 1st possession times outs, false starts, etc

Some of y’all are mistaking the pundits descriptions for Dawg fans’ feelings. That’s Chip Towers’ “kook aid”, not ours. We know who we just beat. But it’s still a win…especially after the S.C. game and even the Evil Genius admitting we beat them. I guess in some ways, yes, “…it’s what the doctor ordered…” But Dawg Nation isn’t necessarily thumping our collective chests in the end zone. We’re just happy for the team and the win…nothing more and nothing less. If you want to keep on being negative and only find the negatives even in a win, please get another team for which to be a “fan”.

Soooo, you’re writing from your yacht…the yacht that was paid for from all your winnings from knowing such things? Or from your penthouse in Vegas? It must be nice to know with such absolute certainty which games we’ll win and lose.

You like coaches that rant and rave and lose their cool on the sidelines huh? Well, many fans and players don’t. Remaining cool under fire and adversity is considered a virtue in some circles. There’s not much coaching nor learning going when confronted with a seeming maniac. I think you’ve had limited views of CMR during games. CMR has many times shown “fire”…rushed on the field, yelled at officials, jumped up and down, shown enthusiasm…etc etc. But, I’ve never seen him lose his cool, like some coaches do. There’s something to be said for someone who can remain calm when all else around them is chaos.

I’m not predicting we’ll run the table. But, why not? It’s possible. Last year don’t mean squat right now. That was then, this is now.

SECOND TIER DIVISION ONE SCHOOL…. NOT DRINKING THE KOOL AID YET….. BEAT SOMEONE IMPRESSIVE…. THEN MAYBE…..THE CURRENT RECORD SPEAKS FOR ITSELF
