Let’s see, Tech opened with Coastal Carolina and MTSU and they’re bashing UGA’s 0-2 record.
I know the Dawgs are playing against a lower division team this week, but opening with two top-20 teams is never easy on anybody.
Unlike the NFL, college football doesn’t have any pre-season games or scrimmages so the games count right away. If the Dawgs have a losing record after October, the heat will be coming from everywhere!

Treat it like a major league pitcher treats a spring training game. Take a few of the areas that need improvement (like offensive innovation) and work on it repeatedly. Greg Maddux used to get LIT UP during spring training and not care one little bit because out of 50 pitches he threw, 40 of them would be change ups, the other 10 would be fastballs and he would be working on the back to back combination of the two.
Let’s work on the play calling here. Let’s mix in some different players to get them some PT. Let’s work some different blitz packages.

STEPHEN A. SMITH DAWG:Now it's a ten game season and C' ya !!!.
September 15th, 2011
6:33 pm
Hey Y’all, football at UGA these days is so bad they are down to a ten game season to evaluate whether the head coach stays or goes. The sentiments from various news outlets around the country are saying beleaguered Mark Richt, 14-14 (for last 28 games) must go 9-1 to save his job and his seat is the consensus number one coaching hotseat in the country. UGA has felt so sorry for itself through its losing ways it now has reverted to pity parties searching in moral victories in losses. Because the team had a poor outing against Boise and played more competitively versus SCarolina should not overshadow this team still has major problems at quarterback, playcalling & coaching, depth on O-line, RB, and LB. In other words despite showing vital life signs in the second game, this is still an erratic, soft, undersized team that at best plays to the level of its competition. The quarterback is graciously listed at 6-1, but looks and plays more like he is 5-9. Several of his passes against SC barely got over the line of scrimmage without being deflected. By constantly lining up in the shotgun is an admission he can’t dropback or needs help getting a clear look down the field after the snap or both. In other words the coaching staff is trying to compensate for Murray being too short to play the position. Also lining up in the shotgun in a crucial 3rd and “ONE” yard to go situation is a silent admission to the defense we are a pass first, finesse (soft) team on offense. Why not lineup in the I formation, punch the defense in the mouth and give the rock to my man, I. Crowell. Couldn’t do it because UGA is soft ! Toss a deflected pass for a WR to make a miracle catch, which got him a “hug” from Richt. Whassup wit dat Y’all, when was the last time you saw Saban give a player a hug during a Bama game. The playcalling in spots is still spotty on offense and now we see how smart it is to change a 4-3 defense to at 3-4 defense when you don’t have the kind of depth at linebacker that you need for a 34 defense. The Richt has instructed Grantham to turn safeties to LBs rendering depth at safety thin. Look we can go on and on about UGA’s problems, but we aren’t paid millions to blog about the numerous problems which plague a once proud program. At this point UGA is a pitiful program in disarray y’all. So cut to the chase, asking for a smallish, undercoached, soft, team with little to no depth in vital areas to go 9-1 just to save an incompetent coaches’ job is too much. UGA might win more games than they lose, but they still haven’t performed well enough to give anyone who isn’t delusional, reasons to think they will play and coach .900 football in the next 10 games after playing and coaching .500 football in its last 28 games. CMR, got some advice for you cuz, you is fakin’ the funk and the game has passed you by, and in the tough SEC wit no coachin’ game ya gotta step aside and give somebody else a shot or stay and get ya self fired. Be cool y’all and DAWGS HUNKERDOWN Y’ALL !!

WHY GEORGIA SHOULD BE CONSIDERING A COACHING CHANGE.
1-Georgia is a combined 0-5 against Top 25 teams in 2010 and 2011
2- GEORGIA has lost 10 of its last 12 against ranked teams. (2-10 record)
2- GEORGIA is now 14-14 in his last 28 games
3-GEORGIA is 6-10 in the past 16 SEC games.
4- REMAINING SCHEDULE. Games they will probably lose: 1- Miss St. 2- Tenn 3-Florida 4-Auburn. Games we should win (if we don’t have an off week): 1- Costal Carolina, 2-Miss, 3- Kentucky, 4- New Mexico, 5-Tech, 6-Vandy.
LOOKS LIKE A 50/50 CHANCE OF ANOTHER LOSING SEASON.
5- Its been 30 yrs since our last national championship…. Can Richt get us there? Are we trending in the right direction?
THE ABOVE SAYS……. NO!

Actually, I was just writing to say that I still think Georgia is going to have a good season. You get to miss a couple of the tougher teams in the west and you have quite a few gimme games left on the calendar. I think it is possible you have already played your two toughest games of the season. Here’s hoping both tech and UGA have good seasons from this point on. I certainly think both programs are improved from last season. That would set up a memorable November game at Bobby Dodd.

Um, ah, um, THIS could be why UGA lost them both ………………..they played GOOD TEAMS that were better on that day.
UGA needs to run the table and go to some nice NY Day bowl and proudly say we were 11-2 or 10-2 or whatever. This record makes most folks happy, as we realistically do not pursue the MNC at Georgia.
We do need to rid ourselves of Mike Bobo and maybe that new O line coach, Friend. I am also very unhappy with whoever is the specia teams coach. He has to go.

The Dawgs are deserving to be in the top 10!!!!!! They are working their butts off. Remember that many of them are quite young and learning every day. Mistakes will occur but it’s what you do with those mistakes in the long run that make a difference in a team getting better and better……and, they definitely are. It was a different team that took the field from week 1 to week 2. I think we will see a fine tuned machine quite soon starting with Coastal SC. Yes, every school does play tune-up games. And I’m glad that Georgia is actually starting to schedule good games at the beginning of the season. If we win, it gives us a big bump in the rankings…and I’d much rather our attitude be “let’s schedule a good team or two, because it’ll increase our ranking when we win” instead of “let’s avoid the good teams because it’ll hurt our rankings if we lose.”
But I hate to see Georgia fans claim that soundly defeating Coastal Carolina is somehow a game we “dominate”, no matter what the score ends up being. We’re GEORGIA, for goodness’ sake, and that means something to us long-time fans. When did we start making a big deal over beating a team we SHOULD beat handily? And when did we start bragging about how we WOULD have beaten a highly-ranked team…except for the turnovers?

Georgia showed a bunch of good talent and will be in every game this year. Five big games left: MSU, TN, FLA, AUB, and GT. I have my money on Georgia dropping two due to inconsistency, final record 8-4 with a decent bowl game. Georgia manages to give away two more of those game and Richt will get his notice.

Dawg season ticket holder here. This Saturday’s game should be won by UGA. The talent gap is too large for anything else. I will not be thumping my chest and bragging after Saturday. It’s just not appropriate (hear me Tech fans). What this game does is give our players a chance to get on the field again and execute against a hostile opponent. Listen to the Tech players after playing lessor teams. Players need some success.
The first goal of the season is still a possibility. Win the SEC East. We’re down one so someone needs to beat SC, but I don’t expect them to win out, and we can. We need either two SC losses or a three way tie with us somehow getting the tie breaker. I can see them losing to Miss. St., Ark., and Auburn. They also still need to play FL.
Let’s keep things in focus, win the east. Win the SEC. Step on Tech. Win a good bowl. Those are the things we can control each and every year. They are still possibilities for this year.
Also, someone mentioned they would like to have Bobo work on being more creative this weekend. Why? Why give any future opponent scouting material? If he is going to be more creative, do it against a quality opponent. This week should be lots of running with a little passing. Set the tone. Hit people and drive them back. Get the backups in and let them have some playing time. Run it some more. I would prefer to see some I formation with our fullbacks driving someone ten yards off the line.
Go Dawgs!

We have a lot of young talent… too much to be honest. We’re seeing the mistakes that are made by youth. Once these guys get this victory under their belt, I believe they’ll start to roll. The season is too young to give up and talk about coaching changes.

I hope UGA hangs 70 plus points on the Chandileers. I hope they don’t allow Coastal to score. Not because I care about Richt. I’m afraid if the Dawgs don’t then your wannabe fans will burn the place to the ground. I also heard you guys have a “Gary Hart Foundation”. Is that for the wrassling guys, the former prez candidate or your slush fund to pay for all your “student athletes”. By the way, your not getting your moneys worth from the coach or the players. Hold on, your mamas calling…

Should UGA win, it proves nothing. If UGA doesn’t win,it will be another story.

Will WSB Radio and the AJC cover Rennie Curran’s “Win one for the Richter” motivational talk to the players before the game?
Also, will there be live coverage of the p*issing contest between Russ and Israel Troupe?
Gosh, there’s so much to see today!
