That said, I dont get the season is over attitude after losing to the #5 team in the country. Our D was supposed to be the strength of this team while the O found its way. Hopefully the D steps up this week and the O plays better. If so, last week will be a blip.

Come on Dawg fans–turning on the kids or the coaches is a bad idea. It will just make this season worse. And for JJ, remember millions of fans can post anything on here. Some of the negative comments aren’t from real UGA fans, and some bitter and obnoxious fans change their ID and post repeatedly. But, do learn a lesson about human nature: there is only one faithful friend in this universe. That is why being faithful to Him is really all that matters–everything else will work itself out. It comes and goes with the wind among humans, and it is based on what they want, and how your behavior fits that expectation. Let’s support the team for the whole season, and then take a look at how things went. I’m all for constructive criticism, but keep it constructive.

Did you see them Saturday night ? Aron White made a 5-yard catch, us losing at the time 7-28. He runs out of bounds with the catch. He turns to the TV and CELEBRATES. Did you see the dreds 10 times from Isaiah Crowell with his helmet off on TV ? And, did you see Crowell on his 1st carry in the 2nd possession, with Crowell slipping and falling down behind the line of scrimmage ? Did you notice that even Caleb King, with his 0 games against any good run defense, declare himself for the supplemental NFL draft, when what happened while he was here, was 21 Losses after being named the # 1 football player, overall, in the state of Georgia – which finds only 3 other states CA, FL and TX with more high school recruits who go on to the NFL. Did you see Mark Richt clapping when Aaron Murray threw the interception 7-7 score which would provide a 7-14 lead to Boise State ? Did you hear Mark Richt laughing after the game in the press conference of how great a team Boise State is, them with their # 69 avg recruit class these last 5 years to Mark Richt’s # 7 average recruit class all 11 years averaging both Scout.com and Rivals.com ? Did you read the tweet from Brandon Boykin to the head coach of the winningest football program, who has twice won the top coach in America Bear Bryant Award, and then watch as his shoes came off in the end zone on the kick-off which surely he should have been punished for and not allowed to be back there on that kick-off ? Do you read in this blog that Richard Samuel who has been nothing but a bust at TB will remain the starter, us with no linebackers, he moved from there to go back to TB. Did you keep up with, or try to ignore the 26 scholarship football players 15 of whom were 5-Star recruits who should have played vs Boise State but did not, addition by subtraction Mark Richt and the RICHT-0-FILES crammed down our throats all Summer, then we lose an OL and a LB and according to Mark Richt now, those 2 injuries are the whole reason we lost and why we are in such bad situation that his job is on the line vs South Carolina ? Did you know if he loses Saturday, that for 6 seasons running now, Mark Richt will not have a winning record vs The SEC East ? Did you see Mark Richt try to hide from us that he suspended 2 more players, at least, for Boise State ? Did you see us get a back-up QB prepared, yet again ? Did you see us get 3 of 13 on 3rd down conversions ? Did you see us lose game number 22, in the last 6 years with 11 more games to play this year ? Did you watch us put up 7 losses, which you have to go back all the way to 1953 to find a team who lost more games in a season for us ? Did you know that no coach in America has put more players into the NFL than Mark Richt ? 45 NFL Bulldogs today. Did you see the players winded in the 1st quarter on both sides of the ball ? Did you see top recruits just quit the team, and refuse to do the S&C of Joe Tereshinski II ? Why should they put forth the team effort ? Kids are not stupid. They know they don’t have to do anything here, except to show off for the NFL and then leave here, and go to the NFL – like Matthew Stafford, Caleb King, Paul Oliver. They continue to be # 2 in the Fulmer Cup Standings all-time for Mark Richt and they continue to showboat on the field, tweet off the field to opposing head coaches without a care in the world of any repercussions. And, you want to know why they come here ?

aarh- UGA backed in the SECCG in ‘05 when Fla lost to SC. The great run of ‘07? a fumble recovery at Vandy from that never happening, they beat a so-so Fla team, put on some black jersey’s and beat sisters of the poor in a bowl game then turned into a bunch of prima donna’s thinking they were just gonna show up an win because they had a G on their helmets.

Seeing the same as last year. No discipline, overweight out-of-shape o & d linemen, poor coaching play-calling. Our o & d line were winded trotting from the sidelines to the huddle. We had 2 360 pounders soundly whipped all night long by a 5′10” 260 lb center. Way, way too much media attention & hype for an overweight jr college player. We listened to& read that crap failing to consider there WAS a reason he was at a jc & not in a major college program already. Yea Saban took a chance & succeeded with Cody. Well hear this CMR ain’t the coach, motivator or judge of tallent Saban is. He hasn’t been & won’t ever be.

Should be better than Ellis…also, I think Crowell shows some exciting potential. He will get better with experience. On the D, I thought we looked better at tackling, and we did pretty well until we had the injuries. Don’t minimize shutting down Doug Martin! He is a great RB. Also think about it: we lost both of our ILBs and we lost both of our safeties. One to the suspension and one to an injury. A couple were able to work back into the game. Our D did a good job against the run for the most part. We failed to put enough pressure on Moore, and our coverage slipped in the middle. But listen, if both ILBs are hurt and both safeties are gone, wouldn’t you attack the middle in the air? Hats off to Coach Pete for seeing the weakness. So, don’t judge the D just yet. It will be tough filling in for Tree, and I hope they come up with a plan. The D will get a real test this week against Lattimore. We need some size in the middle, and he outweighs our ILBs who are slated to start. Go Dawgs!

I have lost faith in Richt. He is not the best judge of talent.
Crowell should be starting. What do you expect from a coach that projected moving Cam Newton to a tight end position if he had elected
to attend Georgia.

If Richt had coached Herchel Walker, he probably would have rotated him
in the backfield! I am not saying Crowell is another Walker. I am
emphatically stating that he should be starting as he was clearly the better back.

On D this week: you can count on SOS seeing that we are on the reserve tank at ILB and safety. I expect a million runs up the middle, with plenty coming from Lattimore, but some coming from Garcia. Expect draws, delays, and a lot of delayed routes into the middle of the field where the safeties and ILBs hang out. The good news is that we should have Rambo back. Hopefully, we can strengthen ILB by Sat. BTW, I saw some real flashes of brilliance out of Jarvis Jones. And stopping A. J. on the edges will be a challenge. Go Dawgs!

I was at the game and embarrased.

The majority of the fans need to stay home. All I caqn sai is stay home with your sine and cheese where you can hear each other whisper.

3rd down and 4 for the defense those old bums tell me to sit down. I told them to hom home to their recliner or make some noise for the defense.

Georgia has been top 10 every years but one, per Scout.com. Their average for the last 5 years is 7 in the nation.

When South Carolina beats us next Saturday, I would like to see the whole coaching staff turn in letters of resignation. UGA deserves better than this staff has given us. On the opening drive with Boise St., we looked as poorly coached as I have ever seen UGA. Three penealties on the opening drive made us look liked we hadn’t practiced since last year.

LowCountry i for one am not turning on this coaching staff and team after one game. I turned on this head coach the day he promoted his best friend to D.C.,and i really turned on him the day he promoted BoBo from Q.B. coach to O.C. This head coach has proven with every hire he has made with the exception of Van Gorder that he has no clue how to evaluate coaching talent. A CEO is judged by the people he hires and by the people he surrounds himself with. If you can’t see that this guy is a terrible head coach by now, then god help you. BoBo, and Martinez brought this program to it’s knees, and now this Grantham and Bobo will destroy it this season. I was at the Dome and the excitement before and at the start of that game shows the passion UGA fans have, but UGA fans deserve much more than Richt and this pathetic coaching staff he has assembled. It all starts at the top, and you can sugarcoat it all you want, but Richt is a failure as a head coach and a CEO. Look at UGA’S coordinators and that’s all you need to know about Richt. Bobo and Grantham are the 2 worst coordinators in the SEC, and that includes Vandy. Bobo”s play calling has no plan or reason, and Grantham is nothing but hot air. This big mouth wouldn’t know how to bring pressure if he tried. If you want more proof of Richt’s lack of ability to be a head coach, try listening to him laugh at his post game press conference after he and his coaching staff got totally embarrassed on national t.v. This guy is destroying this program, and if you want to support him, that is fine. But don’t get on a blog and criticize fans that pay alot of hard earned money to support this program, and they get this pathetic product that these coaches are putting on the field. If you want even more evidence of what a pathetic leader Richt is, how about him calling out his inept O.L. and criticizing in public how terrible the line play is. Oh, i forgot, didn’t the wonderful Richt that “Knows what the Hell he is doing” just hire this high school O.L. coach? Richt didn’t even interview anyone else, and he hired this loser because he was a friend of Bobo’s and he is the guy BoBo wanted. I think that is all anyone needs to know about Richt and his head coaching ability. This clown has thrown everyone under the bus, even his latest hire, but the one person he should have thrown under the bus when he finally fired his best friend was BoBo. He is waiting to do that at the end of this season, but don’t think he will get that chance. If McGarity doens’t do something after S.C. runs all over this team in Athens, then he should go back to Florida as well.

I think the players should understand that most fans are not trashing on them but on the coaching staff. Boise proved it does not take 3,4 and 5 stars to be a great team. What it does take is motivation, execution, emotion, toughness and basic fundamentals of blocking and tackling. The staff in Athens right now does not do this well right now. It’s not the players at fault here, they are the ones that have worked their fannies off this summer. The staff is simply inept at teaching these skills and making adjustments during a game on both sides of the ball.

I love the “real fans” who say don’t be critical, and let me buy your tickets. I have had season tickets for 11 years since graduating, believe that gives me more reason to be critical, I have some skin in the game. Easy to “not get critical” when you don’t help support the program financially.

That being said, I think this could be a good season, depending on mental toughness of the team. Think 10-2 possible but not likely.

I can’t be at the game Saturday so if the I will never complain fan wants tickets, pair can be had for $500, lower level section 136. Now since you never complain, you won’t mind my price. Let me know if interested.

Apparently Richt has no control over his players’ cell phones. These hostile tweets are counter productive and indicative of the team’s personality. This team humiliated the University, not by losing the game, but by sloppy, half-hearted play. The spectacle of over weight linemen patting their helmets because they wanted out of the game, probably had Wally Butts rolling in his grave.

Has Bobo stepped down yet? He kept our D on the field all night. I love the play calling, after Crowell rushed for 8 on first down Bobo calls three straight run plays w/ Samual up the middle and we get stuffed on 4th and 1. God forbid we continue to run what works. He is a great QB coach but an overmatched SEC OC. Step down and let CMR call the plays the rest of the way. Would you want your wagon hitched to Bobo w/ your job on the line? I’m sure he is a great guy and dad but they are getting paid to win football games. Make it happen!

Fire Richt while there is still time to save the program. Not only is the team a diaster but the recruiting class is going to be the pits also. Georgia is now rivals to Vandy and Kentucky. I have been a Dawg fan my enitre life! To see how this program has fallen is just unacceptable. I like Mark Ricth. I think he is a good man and a good coach. Sometimes no matter how much we like someone, we have to let them go. I am a Sales Manager and I have had to let some very good people go. They just got comfortable and were not tperfoming. I think the same is true here. Coach Richt just needs to go. I have had peole that I have let go tell me it was the best thing that happened to them. I hate to say it but I agree, Richt and staff need to go now.

Attention all running backs being recruited by UGA:
This is how it will go for you. First and foremost you will need to block, because the O-line, despite averaging 330 lbs. will get pushed around and therefore it is up to you to protect Murray. Secondly, when you do get to run the football, it will straight up the middle into SEC defensive lines. Repeat on 2nd down. On 3rd and long is when you’ll need to do your primary task of protecting the qb who will be running for his life. Yes, it is too bad you have break away speed and could probably get to the edge for huge gains, but you’ll just have to set that dream aside. Just thought you should know.

Folks, give Boise some credit. We didn’t lose to Utah State. They were ranked #5 for a reason. They had 16 returning starters, a quarterback who may be the best in the nation (at least in that system), and a senior-laden team that has been playing together for years. To throw in the towel and pitch tantrums like many are doing is silly.

I called down a guy Saturday night at the end of the game (yes, I stayed) for booing the team. I thanked him for “supporting” the team. People act like spoiled brats, expecting to win every game.

Players read these blogs. It is best for everyone if we start showing some support. So DAWGS know that alot of folks love you and support you no matter what. We will be there Saturday cheering on and we will be making it a hostile place for SC. That stadium is going to be rocking !!!!! The SC QB will have a lot of trouble calling the plays at the line.

Some advice to the DAWGS–

Look at this game against Boise like an exhibition game. It does not affect your SEC record. You can still do well in SEC EAST play and earn a chance to play in the Dome again with a national TV audience and show all the naysayers just what the DAWGS are all about. The pros get an exhibition season…so relax a little and don’t worry about the negative stuff. Stay positive and be very, very determined to get better. We can learn a lot from the Boise game and the Boise players…We got a lot of work to do and all the corrections and getting better that is needed to be done is going to take extra time. You can only spend 20 hrs per week with the coaches…You are going to need to work some on your own. Meet together as groups on your own—i.e. OL, QBs, WRs, LBs, DL etc.

Please watch extra film this week and know the tendencies of SC very well. Recognizing something a split second earlier might make a difference in making a TD or saving a TD. Make sure your teammates are in the film room with you. Don’t just watch a little extra film—watch a lot of film.

Make sure you know your assignments and make sure that you tackle and block well. Play fundamental football…OL if you need extra help with blocking–talk to the coaches and put in some extra time on your own this week as a group. We got to block better. We can’t miss critical blocks at critical times in the game… Defense–you tackled well to start the game–but at the end you were tired or just down about the score and there were missed tackles…You got to tackle well for 60 minutes not 45 minutes. Football is basic–block and tackle well. Offense we got to do better…WRs we got to get open–look at film and see how Boise was getting open. We got to get the running game going….talk to the coaches.

No penalties against SC–you will be at home at Sanford…Relax and play hard

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate before and during the game…drink gatorade even if you don’t want to. We cramped alot during the game…Did not see any Boise players cramping…We can do better.

Getting in shape…We got tired during the no huddle and at the end of the game…We got to get in better shape…don’t wait for the coaches to tell you everything to do….Go to the coaches as a group and say we were embarassed and we want to be in better shape…find out some things to do this…if needed start running extra on your own, lifting extra on your own, make sure you are eating the right kind of foods…If Boise can kick our butt–then we can learn from them and get in better shape. It will pay off for you.

Have a player only team meeting and decide what you can do to get better and work as family. Make darn sure the no one gets down on the sideline..I don’t want to see any sad faces etc if SC gets a lead…I saw too many sad faces at the Dome on the sidelines and there was plenty of time left on the clock. If you hit and caused a fumble and got a quick score or INT for quick score you could have been right back in the game…remember anything can happen and things can turn quickly in a game..thats why you play hard for 60 minutes. I want to see all of you on the sidelines with the eye the tiger !!!

Now let’s get up on the ground and go out do everything this week to win Saturday. We love you and support you….Go DAWGS !!!!!!!

It may have been one game against a top 5 team, but I don’t see much reason for hope.

I hope the players know we are behind them and hope they can get it done. It’s not their fault. The blame for the last couple of seasons is on the coaches. UGA has plenty of talented players. The same can’t be said of the coaches. Name for me any program that has been trying to hire Bobo or Grantham. If they were any good, other schools would be after them to be HC.

I want CMR to suceed and be the best coach in the history of college football! But..I’m afraid he is no longer a top tier coach. I believe the best coaching staff in all of college football was in the GA Dome saturday, wearing all white. We are not performing on the field. Isn’t that what he is getting paid to do. UGA has NO excuses plain and simple. If you want to be fair..How is UGA ever an underdog to Boise? COACHING!!! I wish Coach peterson was our coach.

Why waste a young man’s talent on a poor season because if we lose those two games I’m sure we will lose two to three more because of coaching.P.S. CMR,please sign 4 to 6 more O/L this year. Please move Samuel back to LB. Face it he is no RB. for a big guy he runs like a 180lb back- no forward lean & always seems to get stoped on the 1st contact. Please CMR move him back to defense. If you need a another RB move B. Boykin there it worked out well for Robert Edwards

I can’t thank Boise and Coach Pete enough for giving me the perfect game plan to be Georgia. After I study the film I’ll have Georgia running in circles and making Grantham wish he had never heard of the SEC much less try to coach in this league.

Our defense will feast on that fat, slow out of shape offensive line. Bobo is so predicable, we will harrase Murray when 22 plays and stop Crowell when he tries to run. You just know Crowell will only be in to run because he sure can’t block. He must have taken lessons from that offensive line, cause they can’t block either—–see’ya Sat.

i bought the ticket and can boo all the he!! i want to. call me out if you want to…you may start calling me out on your feet, but you’ll finish on your back. big time college football ain’t about the “kids”…it’s a revenue stream for the university, a product for sale. if i buy a bad car, i’m complaining at the dealership. same thing with uga putting a bad product on the field. did they give you your money back after the game? no, they kept it, hoping you’ll give them more next week. so if i want to boo, so be it. if you are anybody else don’t like it, too bad. go to a high school game, or pee wee game to cheer for the “kids”…

It looks Like UGA should have no trouble finding a coach with all the experts on these stupid blogs. I agree wit JJ just go pull for someone else if you are going to pull against our team. Did they play good Saturday absolutely not do they deserve to be given up on after one game against one of the best teams in the nation absolutely not. I’ll pull for them not against them all year long regardless of the record and i’ll support our coaches until the day there gone. And to say CMR has left this program in a condition that will take 4-5 years to recover is just flat out ignorant. Any top coach who comes to UGA will win immediately. Let’s all just hope Saturday fairs better for all of Us.

Being a rabid Dawg fan I was willing to buy into the hype. I was desperate for a return to glory! I put the abysmal disaster of that embarrassing bowl choke behind as much as possible. I listened to all the preseason lies. So desperate was I to believe. I actually was semi confidant heading into the regular season opener. The illusion lasted exactly one offensive series. Three penalties in that series. Three! If that is not coaching what is it? I witnessed a worse group than the one that stumbled in the bowl defeat. Much worse in my opinion. Arrogance from a bunch as pathetic as this one is far worse than pitiful. This team plays stupid and with no pride. It is true that a team takes on attributes of its coach. Mark Wretch was as lost on sidelines as ever before. Staring into space without a clue. All the emotion of a concrete brick. If anything this unit is worse that the 2010 edition. If Wretch has any feeling for the UGA program and fans he should do the Christian thing by tendering his resignation immediately. His heart is simply not with the Dawgs any more. Otherwise it is going to be another nightmare campaign. Just as I predicted last year after Wretch was given another reprieve. The Bulldog Nation deserves so much better!

Very surprised @ what I’m hearing from Dawg fans! 1st off, the Dawgs just faced a Beast @ the qb position! Kellen Moore may be the best qb on the country! He made ga pay underneath all day long! He’s a surgeon wit a football! He carved up VaTech last year! It’s just 1 game, & not the end of the world! U knew that the o-line may have been a weekness! Who are some possible candidates for new head coach?

CMR did thid to himself, hiring inept coaches Marinez, Bobo, Grantham, Bryan McClendon a wide out to coach running backs and the list goes on and on.

UGA keeps doing the old hire former players to coach because they need a job. Florida stopped this practice when they decided they wanted to be serious contenders.

Also the fire and drive that you must possess to be a winner is just gone from Richt.

UGA no more silly excues, we must develop a winning attitude or everything else is lost.

You really need not concern yourselves with the ranting of some here and on other blogs as this is an outlet for grown and not so grown people to vent or rave. You shouldn’t take much stock in what is being said here but listen to your coach’s and your family. Leave the fanatical stuff to us “experts” as at times the intelligent level exhibited by some does not represent the entire fan base, just those very few who have way to much time on their hands and engage their mouths before their brains, a lesson that you and your team mates may want to learn before posting on an open blog or any other social network. One guy’s impression:

Defense looked better. They were on the field too much. If the offense holds the ball more, and makes more drives, then they don’t give up more than 21 against a really good offense.

Our offense looks overmatched, week in and week out, against almost every team. We’re not very smart in playcalling. It seems like Bobo is in over his head. He doesn’t adjust well to what defenses are doing. We consistently don’t have receivers open. If other teams can consistently find holes in a zone, we should too.

As much as I hate to admit it, because I LOVE Richt, if Peterson was coaching this team, we would be unbelievable. I am sincerely wondering if the game has passed him by.

We need a big win fast so these young guys will remember what it feels like to win. It has been a while. Winning is contagious, but unfortunately, so is losing.

I’ll still be there cheering my butt off this weekend in Athens. Let’s support these boys, despite our doubts. They deserve it.

Bulldog fans left the dome early saturday night for good reason. What they saw was shocking and embarrassing. They saw their SEC team be pushed around by a team from Idaho!! The dawgs were manhandled by smaller, better coached, and better prepared players.
As much as I enjoyed my season tickets the past decade I can no longer take it. It is no longer fun for me to watch my college team go downhill and show no signs of improvement. The past few years have been filled with false hopes and promises. They have steadily gotten worse the past three years and from what I saw saturday night this year is continuing the downward process. My college football team is now a second rate SEC team that can’t win big games, losing to our SEC oppenents has become the norm. Losing everytime they play a ranked oppenent may be fun for some of you but it is not enjoyable to me. Looking like they did against Boise saturday night has to be unacceptable to all real fans. Something has to change. Whatever Coach Richt is doing obviously no longer motivates the players enough for them to play well enough to win. Nothing he and his coaches are doing is working. Time for a change.

UGA is pretty much what I expected.

UGA fans have to come to term with the fact that the AJC homers are not doing you any favors by posting the delusional beaner reports that they so love to post.

Were I not such a diehard Dawg fan I would find them easy to hate Mark. Arrogant coach who is pitching breakeven football in recent years. Players who text opposing coaches. Roster filled with felons. Players who need asthma inhalers on sidelines after every play. Players who celebrate tackles 10 or more yards downfield. An offensive coordinator who would be hard pressed to make it at Pop Warner level. Jury still out on UGA defense. Not impressed thus far. Once top tier program which still considers itself at same level. Bravado never backed up on field. Five star rated players with talent but no heart. Yes. It would be so easy to hate Dawgs. Understand why so many football fans with knowledge do! Is UGA still alive> Was he even at Georgia Dome. If not then that is one smart pooch!

I am a long time supporter of Mark Richt and admire him for his Christian faith. You will not find a more genuine individual. My family has been season ticket holders for almost 60 years, I am a genuine fan and support the program. I was at the game Saturday and stayed until the last play was made. It was embarressing to watch our so-called fans walk out with over 11 minutes to play.

It has been frustrating to watch our team degress and the coaching staff not make any major changes to the program. It almost seems like CMR doesn’t mind being mediocre and settling for seven or eight wins a year. Whatever happens the rest of the season, I hope the right changes will be made. Remeber it is better to lose early in the season rather than later.

To all you fans calling for the firing of CMR, will you still be making these statements if we win the East and play for an SEC title?

Bulldog fans are simply irrational when it comes to the realities of football. I warned many Dog friends what was coming, but they had already imbibed the Koolaid.

I am a long time Bulldog (76-80). What occurred in the Dome was exactly what should have happened. GA running backs? Questionable. GA receivers? Potentially good but untested = Questionable. GA “O” line? Thin on personnel and been in question for years now. GA “D”? 1 year in the 3/4 with more to learn = questionable.

Boise State? A well coached team, strong on all fundamentals and chock full of 5th year seniors (players – not “stars”) just itching to take down another big opponent. On top of that, their schemes are well designed and fit their personnel perfectly.

It was like watching a surgeon slice and dice, especially in the 2nd half.

Get ready for a long season.

Bobo has got to go. For that matter his boss has to go with him for not taking over and making the calls. Did anyone but me notice that when GA went to an I formation with the fullback that Murray thrived in the play action. I recall one drive that in 3 plays were down the field from the I. So what does Bobo call? Spread formation from shotgun the next 3 plays, how does the HC not see what the fans see. I am loyal and hope we can somehow pull off the upset this weekend. But i’m also realist and if we do lose this weekend I hope we don’t win another game this year. That’s what it will take to get some blood at GA. Going 8-4 or 7-5 might be enough to put up with this crap for another year. Open the checkbook and get Dan Mullens.

Even though I live in the beautiful classic city & I’m a huge Dawg fan I refuse to walk in that stadium & witness that trash that we saw in the dome. I thought or defensive line was going to be a different story this year but I was sorely mistaken. We should go 7-5 this year and Richt will be on a permanent missionary trip. The Georgia football team has developed a gang mentality that accelerated after Richt sent the team on the field to rap dance against UF in the worst display of bad sportsmanship since Woody Hayes punched the Clemson player. Now we have players sending tweets to head coaches and talking smack to the fan base for criticizing sloppy play. There is no discipline, sense of team, or feeling of affiliation to the University. This cannot be fixed quickly or easily. It will require a new coaching staff and a recruiting focus that stresses character, not individuality and athletic talent alone.

Rushing 137 on 31 rushes (take away Boykins 80 run and the rushing total
57 yards on 30 tries –not to swell)

Passing 236 yards (take away the 2 big plays, 36 yards to Charles and 51 yds. To Mitchell and you
have 149yds on 14 for 28) That my friends is 206 yards of total offense-ugly.

Those 3 big plays won’t be TD’s against SEC defensive speed.

The biggest problem I have with Mark Richt is accountability. In his 10 years as head coach, I have NEVER heard him take responsibility for a poor performance. He is always congratulating the opposition (which is admirable), but NEVER have I heard him say “We just were not prepared today”, “I didn’t do my job as a leader and head coach”, “We need to get better in every facet of our game if we are going to improve and win”, “I’m embarrassed by our performance”. I realize it’s not in Richt’s personality to focus on negatives, but most of the great leaders/coaches would recognize their weaknesses, admit that improvements must be made, and be accountable for their performance.

I commend TB for his perspective on the situation.

As hard as it may be to accept, the facts are all that really matter. TB has stated a number of them; enough that even the most ardent bulldog supporter would admit reflects a program that continues in a negative transition. This is in spite of continued recruiting of four and five star talent.

The root cause of the decline:The Head Coach
o Lack of commitment. Mark Richt is not a 24/7/365 football coach. He is man of high moral standards and strong religious belief. His priorities in life center around not just football but also serving the Lord, and the Lord comes first. This is not a criticism, for I fully subscribe to that myself. Unfortunately his SEC football peers do have that commitment.

o loyalty to poor performance: coaches AND players that consistently perform poorly remain in their jobs.
Could it be CRM does not see Bobo’s poor performance because Bobo is running CRM’s plays?

o Passion and Fire: Where is the fire and brimstone that puts the fear to fail in these boys? You MUST have that with these 18-21 year boys. No, they are not MEN, they are coddled and to some degree spoiled boys. 18-21 year old military MEN have died and continue to die in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Just speculating now, but I suspect CRM will resign at the end of the season if the expectations of the AD are not met. If he doesn’t I believe he will be terminated.

One of the many things the Marine Corps taught me was to NEVER, NEVER quit. I will continue to support UGA and UGA football. I will give the players their due. I will recognize the facts and not live in the past. I will be patient. This season has just begun and I will wait and see what transpires. I fully understand you will lose battles; it is winning the war that matters.

To the MEN on this blog, I stand with you; to the boys I say grow up.

Lattimore and the SC Oline will wear GA’s defense down by the 3rd qtr and result will be worse than last years game where he rushed for 180 yds (?) or whatever it was. GA’s D could hardly stop Boise’s RB who is pretty good but no lattimore. When lattimore isn’t running Garcia will pick apart GA’s soft zone and make no mistake our DC won’t do anything to stop SC’s attack, now w/o Tree. Even if we were healthy we’re still stuck w/Bobo’s play calling and a woeful Oline. CMR has made some terrible choices on hiring asst coaches and allowed the better ones to get away.

Finally, I heard nothing from CMR post game or Sunday’s comments that would give any encouragement to fans on changes that would hopefully stop this slide into the pits of SEC football. He must think he has no worries or false hopes he’ll be the HC for life. The AU HC called out his coaches after the game w/UT St saying essentially get better or get out of town! GA football will continually decline as long as CMR is HC. Please, just leave.

the difference in the game saturday was that boise state’s offense is like an advance college class and uga’s is basic elementary school. boise state had a game plan and a purpose while uga is random play calling. there is no rhyme or reason to the play calling. that bsu td where they flooded the right side was designed to get their big tight end open in the red zone. there is no design in uga’s plays, they just run routes and try to get open.

I thought CMR said he was going to play the best players reguardless of what grade their in. Malcomb Mitchell looks a whole lot better to me than Tavarus King and Crowell better than Samuel, but CMR says no changes are going to be made. I guess we’ll have to loose 3 or 4 more games before he will make the changes that everyone can see needs to be made now!!!

Someone please explain to me when looking at the UGA roster I see all the speed and athletic ability and yet it is rarely utilized. Other, than the first play(which was a great call by the way) I struggled to find many instances(sp) where UGA put their talent in position to be successful. Now i always lean toward watching and evaluation defensive play, so I will start with a few observations. 1) Our “Jimmies” are better than their “Joes”- when UGA steps off the bus they will be more talented than 95% of the teams they face, if not greater. This isn’t the NFL where talent is pretty much spread out evenly. We have better talent, know how that talent is being coached and motivated is a different aspect, but like HS football if you have the more talented team you should win the majority of your matchups. How can you leave all that size and speed in zone coverage most of the game. I’m not saying you have to play man to man all game, but you have to eliminate some of those “HUGE” windows we were giving Boise St. K. Moore to throw in, it was like playing “pitch and catch” in the backyard.
You have to put a body on a body and eliminate space, make him make the great pass. I can live with kid making a play, it’s hard to stomach giving them a play. Disrupt timing of the offensive scheme, make those young receivers have to work against press coverage, it will give that Front Seven a little more time to create pressure. Look you don’t have to sack the QB to be effective, making him very uncomfortable and worried will do the trick quite often, this I know! Hey I can go on and on, but you get the idea…
I’m sure they will get this figure out before S.Carolina. Observe, Evaluate, Position, and Play!

If our line is so bad, why does anyone expect Murray to operate in a pocket. If I was bobo,(glad I’m not). I would run boot legs and quick passes. And toss sweeps. We have fast running backs who can get to the edge faster than lineman And linebackers. That’s why Florida beats us. They use their speed to their advantage.

This entire coaching staff is completely clueless. I am simply dreading the rest of the season. We are not going to beat South Carolina. We are not going to beat anyone of note this year. Its just the same crap over and over and over again. The O-line gets their ass handed to them on a silver platter. Stupid penalties out the whazoo. The defense gets tired and starts diving a the ball carrier’s feet instead of tackling them like a football player. We are a joke and Richt is the head clown.

This STAFF has had me frustrated since the Alabama game

Again I thought with the hotseat talk this STAFF would make changes but they showed Saturday they did not

Now I will give them a pass this Saturday if they show me something different and for the rest of the year

But my money is on the mediocrity and unpreparedness that has been shown since the West Virginia game

and frankly enough is enough is enough from this $5 million staff

UGA has seemed lost since the “Blackout” v. Bama. They had a high ranking with high profile players, but were hit in the mouth and have never recovered. Ever since they have been talking up toughness, but obviously don’t put the work in to truly be tough on the field.

LowCountry I always will support the Dawgs. They are my team no matter what. With that said I have a problem with the OC calling draws on 3rd and 8. Once or twice it is ok IF the defense is over-pursuing or if it works. If it doesn’t work once or twice then why continue doing it for four quarters? Oh yeah and don’t get started on needing 5 yards on 3rd down and taking a sack because the QB is having to wait on everyone to go thirty yards downfield.

Again, it boils down to coaching and the only thing hot about our coach is his seat. I’ve tried to back Richt..but this game was a boiling point for me and alot of other Dawg fans. I’ll continue to support the players but it is really difficult to have confidence for our coaches when its been the same crap(lack of conditioning,stupid penalties etc.) since ‘08. Yeah we may still have a good year..i’m optimistic,but going on recent past experiences with this staff..i’m not counting on it.

I mean seriously,how many times do you think UGA practiced their opening few plays?? And they still couldn’t get it right! Proof is in the puddin!!

I was at the game and I saw some great play from the DAWGS as well as some that wasn’t what they wanted. Injuries did affect us. Playing on artificial turf is also a factor. I will be there on Saturday rooting for my DAWGS. I stayed to the end at the Dome and never stopped rooting for them against Boise State. Real fans root for their team win or lose those who boo the kids aren’t fans they are people who come to games to feel good about themselves. We need real fans to believe in the team instead of naysayers who are energy vampires.

@Flat Tire on I-95 in Jacksonville It appears BooBoo needs to “study the game of football (lol)” and watch some N.O. Saints film and Drew Brees. They move the pocket around for him, from right to left. However, Murray is a MUCH better athlete and last year proved he was much better when he was on the move and allowed to freestyle a little bit. BooBoo has him thinking about 3rd and 4th options TOO much. Against Boise, the ball should have left his hands in 3 seconds flat. Once again, not ONE crossing route or hot read was called when the knew a blitz was coming. Murray should have had 10 attempts and 50 yards rushing in this game. That’s what you run when you have a weak, underskilled OL. But I get the feeling only you, I, AND MAYBE 10 people will see common sense

The 6-7 Bulldawgs of last year who lost a ton on offense where playing the #5 team in the country w/ a Senior Hesiman Trophy candidate running the offense. Your expectations where out of whack.

I do think the defense looked better than last year. Considering the pathetic offensive (and offensive) performance – Mike Bobo, poor Pop Warner league coach, and loosing Ogletree, they were worn out.

If I was Grantham, I would be raging in the coach meetings. I would rage so loudly that Richt would fire me…. instead of doing the right thing and firing Bobo.

This is just a sad moment in Bull Dawg history.

No disrespect, but that’s what they were running all night against a soft, wide open zone. At least in man to man, our size, strength, and speed would have forced Moore to throw into tight windows and passing lanes. His noodle for an arm could not have survived that. That’s why NFL QB’s need “live arms.” Those slow, bulky H-backs were open all night, just pick one. Just cut on a Steeler’s tape and see how a 3-4 needs to be ran. BLITZ,BLITZ,BLITZ, SOME MORE. It was game #1, so route adjustments couldn’t have been made in the middle of the game.

I thought Grantham called a good game. Held the running game in check for most of the game. The Passing attack by BSU was a controlled ball control type attack, no huge plays just ones that drove everyone crazy. That is to expect though with the calibur of leader they have running the offense.

I side with the camp that this team is broken and cannot be fixed by mark richt. And this is a three year pattern and not ” one game”. However, I think the fanbase should not turn on each other and everyone should support the team. But if this downward trend continues the fans who are loyal to Richt are going to have to wake up and realize a change at the top is needed. I will be cheering hard for my dogs to win saturday and the rest of the season. Unfortunately, I don’t think things are going to get better but I am hopeful nonetheless.

“Georgia came into its matchup with Boise State at the Georgia Dome on Saturday evening with a lot to prove. But sadly for them, the only thing the Bulldogs proved is that they’re the “same ole Georgia.”

Offensive line problems? Check. Suspect pass defense? Check. Running backs that are over-hyped and under-perform? Check. Stubbornness to adjust to the defense and be creative with the offensive gameplan? Big time check. Overall lack of heart? Checkmate.

The departure of running backs Caleb King and Washaun Ealey was really big on Saturday night, because Richard Samuel and Isaiah Crowell clearly aren’t ready to be every-down running backs. I can’t wait for the “real” fans to explain away next Saturday’s defeat. I’m sure it will still be too early in the season to draw any conclusions. For me, the program’s slide began with Slick Willie’s defense embarrassing us against WVU. This whole mess is directly related to Richt’s ineptness at evaluating coaches and himslef. But the “real” fans think we’ll get a different outcome by doing the same old things over and over again and by running off over half the fan base.

Flat tire on I-95…you are whining @11:56 am…..All you say is I need to tell the coaches what not to do…We all know what did not work Saturday night…It was painfully obvious.—that is Monday morning QB at its best….A 5th grader can tell me what did not work.

I wanted to see if you could make insightful comments and have an intelligent exchange—Like let’s try to see if you can us some new plays that will work or things that the players can do to get better….that is more interesting than whinning.

My belief is that for UGA to get better–the problems have to be dissected. The pathophysiology of UGA’s problems at the cellular level…It goes back to practice…I bet that Coach Peterson is doing things better a the cellular level than we are…It starts at the most basic things–For instance I don’t think we are running enough…I bet Boise players are running extra on their own…they were just better conditioned for instance….Come on –think.

How do the smaller and lighter Boise State players on both lines of scrimmage man-handle the bigger, stronger and heavier bulldogs?

coaching staff whip the dawgs with their 4 & 5 star players coached by 2 star coaches.

I thought it was telling that Boise’s new OC made the pro Todd Grantham, look like a junior high coach. He may be the Jasper Shanks of DC.

He ran with no authority and no clue of where he was going.
crowell ran scared with no authority.
i cant come up with words as to how bad this team played. they will have to show me something this week to make me change my mind.

Ok flat tire….I would like to see the jail break screen run more….what about you ?

Spurrier uses the JB screen very well and we used it once with Durham and scored a TD against Tech…..so JB screen is the first play I would run….and I would also add the quick slants to the receivers…..it looked to me that we had about 3.5 seconds, but the pass rush was on Murray…so it
has got to be quick stuff……We gotta get a running game….I would like to see Marshall coming in with some Wild Dawg plays—would about you ??

Not a whole lot to say. from my perspective Georgia just took a physical whipping from a team with inferior athletes. When Boise lines up a 5′11 280 lb center against a 6′6 350 lb Georgia Nose guard then you would think UGA would win that battle. It did not. Same with when Georgia’s massive O-line went up against Boise’s small D-line which included a 6′1 290 lb D-tackle. Boise sacked Murry six times and never even blitzed. They just brought their regular 4 man rush and dominated.

And having to call a defensive timeout 3 minutes into the 3rd qtr because the defense is worn out? That’s just bad. Looks to me like Georgia went backwards and not forwards in its strength and conditioning program. The 1st qtr the dogs looked fresh and were trading blows with Boise. But starting in the 2nd qtr Boise simply wore down the dawgs and looked like a vastly better conditioned football team. Lotta work to do for the dawgs.

And here is another thing: No need to suggest plays or doing anything different. Why? This is CMR’s offense. Check ANY TAPE going back 15 years. Although every single team in football above High School runs crossing routes, it’s non-existent in CMR’s playbook. They just have to get better at execute whatever the hell they have been doing for 10 years. The problem: Everybody else got better, made adjustments to their program, and we settled on having a good “Christian ” man as coach. Hog wash. So what is Saban then, the devil? He attends Sunday church, every Sunday, with either his players or recruits. Maybe if CMR takes the UNC job, his scheme may work better.

How about a toss sweep with our 6′4 270 lb full back leading the way instead of lining up our running backs beside the QB for a draw up the middle with no lead blocker

Did you see when Crowell ran to the sides he pick up more yardage but Booboo didnt I guess

Or how about putting 2 of our top TE and doing what Boise did and throwing a crossing pattern. Wait we did that to White once who made a big gain and Charles for the TD but for some reason that was never in the cards until we were down by 3 TD’s

How about when Boise started throwing the short crossing pattern passes we go to man coverage Nope we never adjusted to that one

Heres a thought how about rolling Murray how in play action pass where is really good and if no one is open telling to take off and run

How about when your not getting pentration on the D line you put 4 in the box with Gathers and Jenkins side by side for a stronger pass rush

I mean save the $1.4 million we are paying Booboo and Grantham pay me $150,000 I can do just as good as those 2 and save UGA a million

For some reason dawg fans just don’t understand football. A 6′4 270 lb fullback sounds impressive but that is way too slow for sec caliber defenses. All that huge size advantage didn’t impress Boise state. Their little 6 foot 1 inch linemen put spankings on Georgia’s 6′6 linemen.

Folks, our problem sarts and ends in the trenches. Our LINE play on both sides has been pathetic for 3-4 years running. THe offensive line is just plain OFFENSIVE!!!! I think we don’t have a clue as to what we are trying to run on defense. Our defense still looks lost on the field. I am getting very discouraged with Richt and Company. Always have been upset with Bobo still calling offensive plays, but who’s fault is that????

Not worried a lot about the defense because they played pretty well. It was hard on them after the SORRY offense went three and out every possession but one big big play in the first half. Kudos to Boise State they saw that and decided to come out after halftime and gas our defense with no huddle to finish them off.

Dear Mr. Jones,

I admire your passion and commitment to your team, but I hope you aren’t a Public Relations major. Most of us “un-loyal” fans were around last year while you were watching from the sideline during your redshirt season. We were around the year before while you were playing for USC, and the year before that when you were touring the country trying to decide where you wanted to go to college. Many of us were around before you started playing football. A lot of us were UGA fans before you were born. A few were UGA fans before your parents were born. (Though there probably aren’t many from that generation posting on internet blogs.)

UGA fans might be unhappy about the way the team played, or about the way the team is being coached, but they are anything but “un-loyal” The game against South Carolina is sold out and Sanford Stadium will be full of Georgia fans, not because the current team has earned the support, but because there are 90,000+ loyal UGA fans who donate a lot more than the price of a few airline tickets for the right to buy Georgia season tickets. Most of us will still be loyal UGA fans long after you leave school early to join the NFL (or after you graduate if that happens to be the case).

Loyal UGA fans may complain about the result of a particular game, the results of a whole season, the color of the uniforms, the coaching, and a host of other things, but when it comes time to put their money on the line in support of UGA, they step up to the plate season after season.

Being called “un-loyal” by a player who is being supported by my financial contributions to UGA is one of the few things that make me question my decision to donate.

I’m sure I won’t be the only one reminding you that UGA as an instituion is about more than #29, or even the 2011 team. My guess is that President Adams, AD McGarity, and Coach Richt will all make sure that you learn a little more about the long history of UGA football and improve your public relations skills before you log into your Facebook account again.

I hope you will continue to play with the same passion and commitment that you display in your comments to the fans, but I also hope you will learn to appreciate the improtance that the fans play in the success of the UGA program – even though they may complain from time to time.

I haven’t heard anything about Jarvis Jones going on Facebook and calling UGA fans unloyal but that would be the dumbest thing he could have done. He needs to ask himself what has his team done in in the last 2 years and Saturday night to earn loyalty from us. We saw the same pathetic play and play calling from our offense that we’ve seen the last 2 years. We thought we were going to see improvement and we saw absolutely none. I think we saw a record for draw plays and most of us knew we would. That is the only running play in Mike Bobo’s playbook. Mr. Jones loyalty and respect is earned not just given.

Don’t really understand what was so unexpected in the loss to Boise State. UGA has the potential to have a good year but the season will be a work in progress. I believe that Crowell had a decent first game and will will continue to get better and better. The O line has to get better for the team to improve.

The problem with GA isnt with coaching or even with talent. It is a lack of mental leadership. The thing that separates the UGA teams of ‘02-05 had nothing to do with talent. It was leadership by smart football savvy players such as Green and Pollack with a beast of a line player/coach in Stinchcomb. The reason Boise St beat us lies in execution and mental superiority. Let’s face it. We have a dumb, yet talented team. Perhaps its time we changed our recruiting strategy. Fortunately, this Saturday we are taking on a team of IQ giants as great as we are…..GO DAWGS

BTW, for those of you that think I’m off my rocker. Go back and look at the penalties (stupid penalties) the last 3 years…especially in our opening series in this game. Then look at how many times our defense blew simple assignments this past game.

Just an opinion…and after 4 years of time, sweat, tears, and money given to this great organization, I have a right to it.

Cam newton was kicked out of UF for stealing and academics so thats not really a good example. And every school has a few knuckleheads like ealey. But in the case of Richt part of the problem at UGA hasbeen lack of player discipline and that also falls at his doorstep. King might very well have stayed eligible if he had mentor’s on the team who were pushing him to succeed. But when the inmates are running the assylum thats what you get.

1. Van Gorder kept guys in line. He was the fiery personality that was a contrast to Richt’s easy going demeanor. That is gone now. And don’t tell me Grantham is that guy, as obviously the guys aren’t responding to him. At this point, we should all be questioning his competence.

2. The players on the field were natural born leaders who didn’t need a coach to keep them in line, guys like Greene, Pollack, Shockley, Stinchcomb. They were disciplined and hungry. They kept guys in line if guys wanted to celebrate 5 yard receptions. That is gone now, and with no good influences to keep them in line, the clowns have taken over.

This is plain as day. It’s no coincidence that the slide happened in 2006, after Shockley left. Stafford was talented, but he didn’t care about leadership. Neither did Knowshon. 2007 was a good year, but again there was disappointment by losing to 6-6 South Carolina and getting absolutely hammered by Tennessee. If the rest of the world didn’t have 2 losses either, we’d have thought it was merely a good year, not a great year. And in 2008, the clowns took over as we had no discipline in getting hammered by Bama and Florida and choking against Tech with more undisciplined play. We are now in our 6th year of this lack of discipline – when do people say enough is enough?

All i saw was the same old tired undercoached out of shape lazy team that lost to UCF in the bowl game since when is is a good thing that your starting offense hasd to resort to a trick play in the first Quarter to score. the only good thing i saw in the game was the freshman Malcomn Mitchell from Valdosta who had fire & desire to get the Job down if a few of the veteran players couldlean from him?

Speaking of conditioning coaches. Remember how Tereshinski was supposed to whip these guys into shape…..and yet they were cramping in the DOME!!!! A friend of mine and former UGA linebacker said he worked out there this past offseason during the lockout and said the ‘new revamped’ program was a joke and failing. I thought he was being hypercritical….but I guess on Saturday the proof was in the pudding.

So we all agree. Fire Richt. Hire Brian Van Gorder and lure Boise State’s offensive coordinator.

1- they were a better team and played a better game
2- the mistakes we made are coachable
3- I was annoyed at the overall play of the offensive line
4- im not anticipating any overall lineup changes for next week

Not Bobo’s fault? Didn’t we line up in shotgun about 50% of the time. UGA runs the I formation, not shotgun. We PHYSICALLY beat teams. And if we can’t do that, we need to shut our program down and start a lacrosse team.

If a head football coach knows one of his players is tweeting the opposing team/head coach, talking smack to them, and not only does nothing about it but says he has his back…if a head coach comes out of a game where his team was dominated in every facet possible, and giggles during the press conference…if a head coach says he doesn’t plan on making any personnel changes before the next game, after seeing some players perform better than others…a football program needs to reassess it’s direction and decide whether they have the right head coach running their team.

This article in the Idaho Statesman pretty much says it all:

To hear the Boise State Broncos talk afterward, you’d think this was no big deal.
Ho-hum, they beat a Southeastern Conference power.
Except, the Broncos have never done this before.

The program that keeps breaking new ground handled No. 19 Georgia 35-21 on Saturday night at the jam-packed, red-filled Georgia Dome — punching another hole in the skeptics’ argument against the Broncos being a national power.

“They’ve got a bunch of well-coached, great athletes who just played a great game,” Georgia sophomore quarterback Aaron Murray said.

The No. 5 Broncos dominated the showdown from the middle of the second quarter to the second-to-last play, when defensive end Jarrell Root buried Murray on his own 3-yard line with a few ticks left.

The Broncos were 0-4 against the SEC previously, including an embarrassing 48-13 loss to the Bulldogs in 2005 in Athens.

“It means a lot to us,” said coach Chris Petersen, who is 7-1 against BCS-conference teams and 62-5 overall in six seasons. “We have tremendous respect for the conference and Georgia. Last time we were down here it wasn’t even a game. It’s something these kids will be very proud of.”

And yet, Petersen quickly reminded his players that they don’t have time to thoroughly celebrate this success.

Players already are talking about their Sept. 16 game at Toledo.

“It means that we got a W, but we’ve got to focus on Toledo next week, so we’re going to throw this behind us,” senior tailback Doug Martin said. “We’ll celebrate for a little bit, but come Monday it’s back to practice.”

The Broncos seized control of the game late in the first quarter when they went to their no-huddle offense. Senior quarterback Kellen Moore, protected by a youthful offensive line, started discovering gaping holes in the Bulldogs’ zone defense.

He hit redshirt freshman wide receiver Matt Miller for a 17-yard touchdown in the first quarter and senior tight end Kyle Efaw for a 12-yard score with 48 seconds left in the first half to take a 14-7 lead.

The Broncos made it 21-7 on the opening drive of the second half as Moore hit all seven of his passes for 69 yards, using five different wide receivers.

The Broncos snapped the ball so fast at times that the Bulldogs weren’t even getting set and at least once called a timeout to catch up.

“We were a little more in shape than they were, so our hurry-up offense really had an effect,” said Martin, who rushed for 57 yards and a touchdown.

The change of pace also seemed to spark the offensive execution, which had been spotty early in the game.

Moore finished 28-of-34 for 261 yards and three touchdowns with one interception and no sacks.

“It’s hard to come out of the gate in a real good rhythm,” Petersen said. “Practice is so darned different. He’s got some new receivers he’s working with. We knew it’d be a while. I’m just glad we got it going in the second quarter.”

Moore completed passes to nine different wide receivers in the game. Efaw made six catches for 53 yards and a touchdown and Miller and junior wide receiver Mitch Burroughs added five catches each.

Moore’s third TD, a 3-yarder to senior wide receiver Tyler Shoemaker, gave the Broncos a 28-7 lead late in the third quarter. The Broncos’ run game did the rest — tailback D.J. Harper led a scoring drive that made it 35-14 in the fourth and Martin milked the clock on the next drive.

Meanwhile, the renowned defensive line dominated. The group contributed 5.5 of the team’s six sacks and gave the Bulldogs’ tailbacks fits. Senior defensive end Shea McClellin stuffed a fourth-and-1 play and recorded 2.5 sacks.

Senior cornerback Jerrell Gavins added an interception and junior punt returner Chris Potter provided a 49-yard punt return — both of which set up touchdowns.

Some Georgia fans in the crowd of 73,614 began leaving in the third quarter. They grumbled as Moore dissected the defense.

“They protected (Moore) well,” Georgia coach Mark Richt said. “We didn’t get enough pressure on him. But when you run and pass well, it’s hard to get that rush.”

The Broncos collected The Old Leather Helmet Trophy for their victory — fitting for a team that prides itself on an old-school, blue-collar attitude.

A couple players even donned the helmet.

That was as close to giddy as they got.

The players say their preparation — in practice and in offseason workouts — led to confidence.

“It just shows what type of football program we are,” Burroughs said. “Not a lot of talk. We’re going to work hard and then we’re going to come in and play our type of game.

“It doesn’t stop here.”

LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!! How’s that crow taste UGA fans, talked so much smack up till the game, BSU can’t hang with the big boys, etc. etc. etc. Now you’re making excuses, our kids conditioned on their own all summer long and were in better overall shape than your boys, guess it comes down to who wants it more and who’s better coached. Good luck with the rest of your year smack talkers! Shouldn’t talk smack till after the games over….HA HA HA HA!!!!!

Come on, give Boise State the credit they deserve. They were and are a vastly superior team and would beat UGA nine times out of ten. Boise State MADE the Bulldogs look bad and USC could likely do the same thing, but the game still has to be played and anything can happen. The season is not over as the last time I checked there are eleven more games to play. Any possible coaching change will depend on the record this year so enough clamoring to fire CMR and staff now!

The defining moment for Richt’s demise was the WVA Sugar Bowl loss. I certainly haven’t seen anything during the past four seasons that gives me hope that he’s turned things around…just the contrary, and I’m fed up with his excuses. Fire him now and get started rebuilding for the future. Why wait to see if he can beat a team (SC) that we have always dominated?

Last year the national media really rallied behind Richt from most of what I read, this year it’s starting off much different…..From ESPN.com: The Bulldogs started off 24-11 against nationally ranked teams under Richt and won a pair of SEC championships. They’ve lost nine of their past 11 games against ranked foes since those days, and this program has also lost its elite status in the SEC.

I was so disappointed to see our defense hands on hips 3 minutes into the second half after this much publicized S&C program. It all feels like a big off season of lies! Not to mention that it’s not about one game, it’s about a desire to break the losing mojo that is inhabiting UGA. Of course they could rebound and yes, it was to a good team, but personally I’m just sick of the L’s.

If you’re OL cannot hold blocks long enough for the down field throws, why in the world do you continue with that very same game plan. Let’s go with the short passing game and give the athletes a chance to catch the ball in space and make some places. You do not always have to play the mid-to-vertical game. Boise State adjusted after the first few series after they found out quickly that our CB’s could play man-to-man and shut down their WRs. They went to a bunch formation and a short passing game. We never seem to make any right adjustments. We continue using the same offensive game plan. On the defense, I understand we made adjustments, but if you cannot get pressure on the QB, you need to play M. Diaz type of football and blitz baby blitz while mixing up all of your blitzing packages to keep the offense guessing. Since we do not have the DE’s that can put pressure on the QB, we need to do something different. It doesn’t take a genius to figure this out.

I am not jumping off the ship. I have too many good memories and know we will get this ship turned around this year.

Bob I agree that we have problems in DAWG NATION, but people act as if this was Sacramento State(thank God they played OSU Beavers Saturday)and not Boise State. Yes we are an SEC TEAM, and yes we should’ve performed better, but do people realize this QB was what #3 in the Heisman voting last year. They are good! When we finish 10-2 and are in a top tier bowl people will shut up. And for the record FIRE MIKE BOBO as OC.

I like Mark Richt. He’s a great guy and was a pretty good OC in his day. But he is not now, nor will he ever be, a good HC. Very few individuals have the necessary leadership skills to be great HC’s. That’s why they get paid so much and are in such great demand. CMR is way overpaid for his talents. He’s probably the most overpaid coach in all of college football when you consider the resources that he has to work with, and his results. I believe that UGA will lose to USC on Sat, and will go on to have another mediocre season. And I belive that Greg McGarity will have no choice but to relieve CMR of his duties. I think that UGA will persue a proven HC with lots of fire for coaching who can take these players and win with them. And I believe that this coach should be Lane Kiffin (just kidding) Kyle Whittingham, Greg Schiano, or Dan Mullen.

If our blocking asignments are so complex that our RBs have to block first, and run second, why haven’t we been having success? I don’t see this with the top 10 ten teams…I really believe the game has passed Richt by.

Richt needs to get with the program and take a page from Saban’s book. Saban plays for the next year by playing his young guys with the mix of veterans. So therefore, there is no dropoff. Case in point: When Mark Ingram was a heisman running back, u also had Trent Richardson getting a considerable amount of carries and gaining experience to set up the running back situation down the road. Saban realizes there are 85 Scholarship guys and utilizes them within his scheme during an actual game. Richt only uses his backups when someone goes down with injury, forcing someone in who’s inexperienced which hurts the team. You have guys like Nick Marshall, Ray Drew who are super athletic, a few reps in an actual game situation. So when injuries come, they can keep the ball rolling without uncertainty. No wonder it seems we are out of shape and wondering about the depth chart every year before the season starts. Anytime there is uncertainty about certain positions going into a season, there are going to be problems. Look at our WRs, RB, DB(with exception of Boykin) positions. Two freshmen were our better reciever and back while our secondary got torched. Your not going to see that at BAMA….

Ain’t that a hoot. A bunch of slow knuckle draging crackers came down here and handed our bunch of 4 and 5 star super stars a beat down. All the speed in the world can’t make up for poor tackling and what the heck does speed do for you when the other teams WR’s are running free through your secondary. Yep at least Spurrier has a better perspective and correct one on the play of Boise ST and all of you are whiny little babies because UGA lost. LOL. AND THEY ARE HIGHER RANKED TO START THE SEASON!! NO THEY WOULD HAVE KNOWN IT WAS A TOUGH GAME BUT NOT THE END OF THE SEASON. BAMA SURE COULD LATER ON, BUT NOT THE FIRST GAME. HECK GIVE OUR YOUNG GUYS A COUPLE GAMES UNDER THEIR BELT.

I SUPPORT UGA, THE PLAYERS AND MARK RICHT. THE BOISE ST LOSS IS EXTREMELY UNDERSTADABLE BUT MOST OF YOU FANS ARE IRRATIONAL AND UNREASONABLE AND HARDHEADED AND HAVE ZERO TOLERANCE AND FOR ALL OF THAT YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED AND WE UGA FANS AND ALUMNUS ARE ASHAMED OF YOU MORE THAN YOU KNOW.

BOBO IS ANOTHER STORY. HIS DAYS ARE NUMBERED. RICHT IS NOT GOING ANYWHERE AND WE BOOSTERS KNOW THAT TOO BECAUSE ONE GAME DOES NOT A SEASON MAKE OR BREAK, ESPECIALLY THIS YEAR. WE THINK A 9-3 SEASON IS WITHIN REACH, MAYBE MORE. BUT 8-4 IS ALSO ACCEPTABLE. ANYTHING LOWER AND THERE WOULD NEED TO E SOME SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS LATE OR EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES.

THERE HAVE BEEN ISSUES WITH THE OL THE LAST FEW YEARS INCLUDING ONE NFL CALIBER STARTER HAVING 3 SEASON-ENDING INJURIES WHICH TOOK AN OL SCHOLARSHIP AND I AM TAKING THE SAME STARTER! OTHERS LEAVING THE PROGRAM OR BEING ASKED TO LEAVE. SOME HAD ACADEMIC PROBLEMS, SOME WERE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. MANY WERE INJURED IN EACH OF THE LAST FEW YEARS. WE GET THAT DO YOU? JOE COX WAS THE STARTING QB 2 YEARS AGO WE KNEW THAT WAS A DOWN YEAR AND WAS NOT GOING TO BE MUCH BETTER THAN 8-4 AT BEST. ANYTHING ELSE WAS ICING ON THE CAKE. LAST YEAR WAS A DEFINITE REBUILDING YEAR WITH A FRESHMAN QB AND ONCE AGAIN INJURIES ON THE OL, AJ GREEN SUSPENDED AND OTHERS. STILL UGA WAS IN MOST GAMES BUT FOUND A WAY TO LOSE THEM. THAT IS NOT UNUSUAL FOR A REBUILDING TEAM BUT CANNOT CONTINUE AND IT IS NOT EXPECTED TO CONTINUE.

THAT LEADS US TO THIS YEAR. ONE LOSS TO BOISE ST. IT IS ACCEPTABLE AND UNDERSTANDABLE. THERE ARE SOME AREAS OF CONCERN HOWEVER AND THEY ARE EXPECTED TO BE ADDRESSED. THE BIGGEST ISSUE IS MIDDLE LINEBACKER. SOMEBODY IS GOING TO HAVE TO STEP UP AND ANOTHER STEP OVER. ANOTHER AREA OF CONTINUED CONCERN IS BOBO AND HIS GAME PLANNING AND/OR PLAY CALLING. THE LINES SEEM TO HAVE A LOT TO DO WITH LIMITING THE OFFENSE HOWEVER THERE MUST BE CONTIGENCY PLANS AND THIS IS AREA THAT APPEARS TO BE A LACK OF ATTENTION AND IS CONSIDERED TO BE A FAILURE. REMEMBER WHEN UGA RAN THE BALL DOWN AUBURN AND GA TECHS THROATS A COUPLE YEARS AGO WITH COX AT QB? IT TOOK THE WHOLE SEASON TO TRY SOMETHING DIFFERENT. WHAT IF THAT HAD BEEN DONE EARLY IN THE SEASON. WHA IF THE RUNNING GAME IS NOT WORKING WELL? WHAT ARE GOING TO DO? KEEP RUNNING UP THE MIDDLE OR THROW SHORT TO THE BACKS AND GET YOUR PLAYMAKERS INVOLVED IN THE GAME INSTEAD? THINGS LIKE THAT ARE KILLING THIS TEAM MORE THAN ANYTHING.

BOTH LINES, BOBO AND LACK OF EXPERIENCE TOGETHER IN THE SYSTEM AND EVERYBODY KNOWING WHAT THEY NEED TO DO. THAT COMES WITH TIME. LINES MUST HOWEVER PLAY BETTER IMMEDIATELY. BOBO, WELL THIS IS HIS 4TH OR 5TH SEASON AND HE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE PROGRESSING BUT STAGNANT AND NO CONTIGENCY PLANS TO SPEAK OF.

Hey you! Yeah – YOU! Jarvis Jones! You want to preach to us about not being “loyal”? If you had your way you would still be in L.A. playing for Junior at USC so shut your mouth about UGA not having “loyal” fans.

You know Jarvis, I have been loyal to the Dawgs during the last 3 seasons (plus the Boise debacle) when I knew I shouldn’t have because the Dawgs clearly sucked those years. I just kept the blinders on and had faith in our players and coaching staff to turn things around, and guess what? THEY HAVEN’T DONE IT YET!

You are all an EMBARRASSMENT to your University and to the uniforms you wear – and that includes whatever fashion disaster or motivational gimmick you happen to be suiting up in that particular week. I have seen more guts come splattering out of a chicken hit with 12 gauge buckshot than this entire can muster up on a Saturday in their own back yard.

Just win Jarvis and all this criticism will go away. In fact, you will be ADORED in the entire blogosphere, but don’t come out playing like a bunch of wheezing fat kids playing “Red Rover” at a summer camp for the mentally challenged and expect a pat on the back from me. I’m sick of this garbage.

Richt needs to just grow a pair and yank the headset of BooBoo. I watched a recorded game vs. SCAR last week from 2006 at it was like the offense was a totally different animal. Now they look like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off.

Grantham doesn’t get a pass either. Where is that Cowboys 3-4 D we were promised? Oh yeah! We only needed a nose tackle. Well now we have TWO OF THEM and there is still no change. The D still blows. I think it has become painfully obvious that Grantham does not possess the skills to make the adjustments to the college game. I guess it’s easier when you only have to defend a pro-style offense. I am appalled at Grantham’s lack of adjustments for Boise’s short passing game.

All this after another off season of 5 star recruits and off season “happy talk”.

I’m just sick and tired of this prolonged suckage and embarrassed to be a Dawg fan right now. You guys are total GARBAGE. Georgia has been dragged through the mud the last three seasons and Dawg fans are tired of tolerating this kind of play.

Seriously not downing the Broncos? You said they play high school teams the rest of the way! How is that not putting BSU down? Why not just say they were the better team on the field that night and leave it at that? BSU has proven theirselves time and time again, VT, Oregon, Oregon State, Oklahoma, TCU and now Georgia! We have no choice in what conference we’re in, PAC-12 won’t take us, what are we suppose to do? Oh I know, keep beating the SEC, Big 12 and PAC 12 schools that have the testicles to play us, that’s what we should do! It’s the same argument, excuse me, it’s the same excuses with all you fans of other teams, BSU isn’t talented enough, not fast enough, not, not, not, not! But guess what? We seem to win don’t we? BSU isn’t afraid of you guys from the so called Big Boy conferences, it’s the teams in the so called Big Boy Conferences who are afraid of us and you know it. If we were in one of the BCS conferences we would probably be even more dominant because we would be getting some of those 4-5 star recruits that are currently signing with the PAC-12. Use your head for something other than a hat rack and give it some thought!

You have to receive an invite to a BCS conference, it’s not like you just sign up and join. Trust me, BSU would join the BIG 12 in a heatbeat if they were invited. And trust me, our AD has tried scheduling other teams to play us and we get turned down. We also ask for a home and home series but rarely get it. Oregon State and Oregon have given it to us. But even if we don’t get a home and home, we go. What’s your argument to my statement that if we were in a BCS Conference that we would possibly be more dominant than we are now, because we would surely sign some of those 4-5 star recruits? You as well as every other UGA fan know that Boise State obviously has a better coaching crew too, guess paying Richt $3 million doesn’t work out! Again it comes down to who wants it more. I truly hope the Dawgs do win out the rest of their schedule, will only help us into the NC game. The only two teams I see that are pretty damn good in the SEC this year is LSU and Alabama and the Dawgs don’t even play them this year. And you talk about high school teams, UGA is gonna play Coastal Carolina and New Mexico State! Come on now, UGA should at least get to the SEC Championship game with that schedule. I watched S. Carolina game and Boise State would’ve put a beat down on them too.

Look if you guys want to support Mark Richt when his assistant coaches are doing all they can get him fired, please try to not make idiotic statements like this. Boise State is a better coached football team, averaging # 69 in recruit rankings the last 5 years to Mark Richt’s “coaching staff” recruit rankings the last 5 years of # 11 average. Boise State just beat a team who has lost 13 of the last 27 games, is 13-12 over the last 5 years vs SEC East teams and has not beat a team who finished in the AP Poll Top 10 since 2006, when we also lost 4 games including to 4-win Vandie. Oh, we have an injury ? Should have thought about that when you ran off 26 scholarship players in the last season, and you COLUMBUS came running in here typing ADDITION by SUBTRACTION.

At best, Boise State beat the # 7 team in The SEC. It is quite clear that Alabama would have rushed Kellen Moore, rushed their punter, and would have had enough players actually practicing all Fall Camp without S&C issues of half the team with hamstrings, groin pulls and quad, to line up after winning the coin toss and not have 3 penalties the 1st series. There is no excuse for 2 of 13 on 3rd Down Conversions. We had a practice at the Dome, and on the opening kick-off a guy who should not have been allowed to be back there, comes out of his shoes, and in the 2nd series our # 1 RB in the nation at 4.43 speed ( # 221 in speed in this year’s class), slips on his 1st carry. We have 2 OL and 3 holes and no one behind them. We ran all the LB out of the program. We have no secondary. We have no WR. We have no fullback.

We were # 72 in the nation at making 1st Downs last year. We are, once again, the same.

We play FAVORITES. Malcolm Mitchell and we bring him in with the score 7-28. We start Richard Samuel. We threw 1 pass to Aron White and he celebrates the 5 yard catch out of bounds, jumping up and down so proud of himself, down at the time 7-28. We try to hide that Bacari Rambo is suspended, and we tried to hide that Carlton Thomas was suspended. We have Rodney Garner say in the papers how badly Jon Jenkins is doing, pre-game. We say everyone is ready to play 2 days before the game, never mind, none of them practiced all Fall Camp.

These are not excuses for the DISNEYdawgs.com. They are indictments of our coaching staff Mark Richt hired and he alone is responsible for. I am not settling for 13 losses the last 27 games. Maybe you are; that is your problem and not mine. I am steadfast the coaches and the players must GATA. Coastal Carolina comes up after Saturday. Maybe we can run up our stats against them, and make you so proud of the “coaching staff” Mark Richt hired and kept here. Pass me the Kool-Aid, Boise State would beat Alabama, Columbus.
