No more talk, time to see what 2011 Georgia Bulldogs are made of
The countdown clock running most of this summer is almost down to all zeroes for Georgia and Boise State in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game. I think we can all agree that we’re glad it’s finally here.
For us sportswriters, you really do get to the point that you’re tired of writing about what might happen and what could happen and about this player and that one. We, too, just want to see a game played so can analyze things from there. We’ll all get to do that come 8:15 p.m. tonight.
Before we do that, I wanted to make sure you had everything you might want to read up on about the game. Both Tim Tucker and I have been writing about this team and this game pretty much daily for the last month and often multiple times per day. Below I’ll list the most recent and most pertinent blogs and stories so you can just click on them in case you missed them or want to revisit a certain story or subject.
In the meantime, I’ll wrap up some household chores before heading down to the Dome to chronicle what promises to be an exciting night of college football. If I don’t see you down there I’ll see you here on the blog before the game.

Spent too much money on Newton. None left for Wilson this year. Wilson ends up going to the highest bidder, Wisconsin. Result, Wisconsin has shot at NC. Auburn has shot at worst turn around in history after a NC season. Not pretty.

Unfortunately, the Barners pulled it out. I just like how all of the fan are yelling, “We’re number1!” at the cameras as they barely escape a loss to Utah State (who hung 38 on AU on the plains). Yeah, you’re number 1 alright. Way to grind it out against that powerhouse Utah State, Auburn.

“so much for the mighty sec” – OOPS!!!! There’s a reason the last 5 National Champions came from the SEC. Jealousy is such a petty emotion. Great win for Auburn. However, all the Auburn fans who were leaving after they got down 10 points should be ashamed of themselves. You just won a freaking national championship and you’re gonna walk out on your team the very next game! Pathetic!

What’s up with all these women as the primary announcer on the TV games – and no – I’m not sexist – but come-on – The Auburn game and now the Michigan game’s primary announcer is a woman – then they go back to the studio and it is a woman (Wendi Nix). As I said – I am not a sexist – but it seems much better when men are announcing a football game. Same with the primary announcers on major network news (2-3 are women) and even CNBC – primarily women now. I think the day of the male is quickly dying.

Both Georgia and Boise State are going to have a big disadvantage with both sides losing a duo of wide receivers. Murray as a sophomore needs to play his mobile run and/or throw game, while I have a feeling that Moore will be making a new crop of green receivers look like dangerous threats. Georgia’s running game will set the tone and eventually wear Boise State down IF Murray can make the throws to move the chains. Moore will be his usual cool dangerous self. We shall see how their Boise’s rushing game fares against some big Georgia defensive bodies. It should be a tough and very colorful game.

Run into some Boise fans at Fox Bros BarbQ around 1:30 today. Nice people but they said Boise will beat us 42 to 17. I told them to enjoy the food but stop at a drug store going to the Dome for Rolaids. They will need them.Dawgs 36 Boise 24.Also told them we will have 3 QB sacks today. I’d love seeing Boise in the SEC. They are having a good few years. That trick play against Oklahoma was the start of it. This is Boise’s first win against an SEC team…congrats! I hope your Administration keeps up the trend with playing real teams once or twice a year. The complete butt-kicking you received in 2005 against UGA in Athens would be more along the lines of what you could expect week-in and week-out in a real conference. Your team did well tonight but just understand it wasn’t something fabulous.

I was at the game tonight. I completely have faith in our team, but the fact is our offense has not found that chemistry it needs to be as prolific as Boise’s was. We lost by 14, not 30-something, so stop killing yourselves over it Dawgs. Kellen Moore is a beast, and our zone coverage was just plain not cut out for tonight. In general, I saw a lot of good things and good potential, but I saw areas we need to work on. ASAP. And to the fans that were chanting “Fire Mike Bobo,” shame on y’all. That’s not something that recruits or the rest of the nation needs to remember us for. Support our team or GTFO. Respectfully. Props to Boise, you guys played good, disciplined football against a relatively young team. I accept my crow. NOW LET’S JUST GET IT DONE AGAINST CAROLINA!!! GO DAWGS!!!!

I have watched this post for the last month and listened to how UGA kicked Boise State’s ass in 2005, we as Boise State fans tried telling you that this wasn’t the same team that played UGA in 2005, but that wasn’t enough for UGA fans to keep their holes shut! All they could say was, “Remember 2005, we whooped you 48-13!” Well, guess what DAWGS?, We kicked your ass tonight, PART OF THE MIGHTY SEC CONFERENCE, by 14 points and when we lost, we made no excuses. I am always amazed how the SEC/UGA faithful spin any bad loss. Why were they even a rank team after losing in their bowl game to UCF?.
