I’d say that if Boise goes undefeated, they’ll make the NC game unless two major teams finish undefeated. They have a multi-year resume in their favor. Pollsters won’t deny Moore a shot if he gets to that point with only 2 losses in 4 years.
Still, if UGA coaching has done a great job preparing UGA for 2011 and calls a good game, UGA should not have a nail biter but instead win by a couple scores. I don’t think Moore can beat the Dawgs alone, BUT Boise State is WAY better than Colorado and Central Florida were last year, so all eyes are on UGA coaching.

66DAWGnNC…This is not another SEC team we will be playing. To bring SC and Alabama games as a point of reference is crazy. This is more like the Hawaii game. UGA will be motivated, they will be bigger and faster than BOISE ST., and BOISE will lose.

AceDawg…I agree. However, UGA was not motivated for Central Florida. The Colorado game was unfortunate and we should have won. I think we had bad Karma during that time.

Dawgs need to come out and play with the chip on their shoulder that they SHOULD HAVE after the debacle of 2010. Plenty to prove! Very winable game, no question. GATA!

acdc, I believe you have missed my point. My reference to Bama was to show that just because they were much improved in year 2 of the 3/4 does not mean UGA will be. Bama had much better execution on both sides of the ball than what I have seen from UGA recently. They also had the big man in the middle that stuffed everything. We have been told that we have 2 very capable big men in the middle that are similar. All I said is I will believe the hype when I see the execution. That would translate to my comments about USCe as well. Guys were in position to make the play, but did not. I have seen that way too often the last few years. Is it poor coaching or over-hyped recruits? Your guess is as good as mine. I understand that BSU is not SEC caliber. But, they are good enough, when they have plenty of time to prepare, to beat any body on any day at any venue. Ask OK, Oregon, or VT about that. I believe they are much too experienced and too well coached to be awed by UGA and the Georgia Dome. That’s all I am saying. I will believe the UGA hype when I see it.

I think some of you guys are forgetting that players mature and the extra year can make a big difference. Jones, Tyson, Boykin, Smith, Commings, Williams, Robinson, Tree, and Washington are all back from starting last year. J. Jones started at USC (I think) and has the extra year last season, too. Geathers played some and Jenkins was a star in JUCO. Pundits generally look at who the team lost, but they don’t look at the experience level or ability of who is replacing them–almost all of them have started and played well. I think we are much stronger in that department than they realize. Geathers is the closest thing we have to an inexperienced starter in all of the players I mentioned, but he has gotten good reviews from all. We have some good young guys pushing them. Not only is the whole unit a year older, but the second year of a system is better for several reasons: the players are more comfortable, but so is the coach. He knows the players better, and he knows his opponents much better. CTG had little idea what to expect from some of the teams. From all accounts they worked hard on the physical part of D in the spring and summer; we’ll see, but I expect a big improvement. They are starting with a very, very accomplished offense to beat, so they get a huge challenge right out of the gate. The big unknown for me is how good the O line will be. If they can open big holes, we are going to be very, very hard to beat imo. We have great special teams. Finally, I wouldn’t get distracted by the Richt haters. Some of them have other agendas, and we really have no way of knowing who is sincere in their criticism, and who has something else going on. Richt is as good as they get. He has had a couple of bad years, but I think he rights the ship Saturday. He knows how to win; I’d say he is among the least of our worries. Go Dawgs.

OMG come on folks……this is Boise St. we’re talking about…they’re not as strong as everybody makes out.
Ga wins going away. We’ll be playing the 2nd & 3rd strings by the end of the 3rd quarter.
Now SC we need to worry about……next week. Let’s hope no one gets hurt.

Dear Boise State,
Please join a real conference so all of us SEC fans can quit haering you cry about a chance at the national champioship. It must make you feal guilty to prepare for one QUALITY APPONENT the whole season and then think you can just walk into the national championship game. If you think Kellen Moore is a heisman trophy candidate let him play aginst a QUALITY APPONENT every week.Any current starter in the sec could throw for 3500 yards with THIS SCHEDULE
SEPT. 3 GEORGIA # 19
SEPT. 16 TOLEDO
SEPT. 24 TULSA
OCT. 1 NEVADA
OCT. 7 FRESNO STATE
OCT. 15 COLORADO STATE
OCT. 22 AIR FORCE
NOV. 5 UNLV
NOV. 12 TCU # 14 WEAK
NOV. 19 SAN DIEGO STATE
NOV. 26 WYOMING
DEC. 3 NEW MEXICO

This week UGA wins in a laugher! 48-21 or maybe worse if CTG is salty enough to keep the starters in till the end. Next week will be a tough one and hard to call a winner. I just hope UGA prepares as hard and is as excited to play USCe as they are this week!
Hilarious...

“He’s a really nice compliment to Isaiah Crowell” …This is hysterical. Mark can say that the season doesn’t ride on Crowell all he wants, but when ppl are talking about a junior being a nice compliment to a kid that hasn’t played 1 down yet says it all. If this kid isn’t the next Lattimore, this Dream Team might go the way of the last 10 years of Dream Teams…Not a position I’d want to be in.

tired of hearing about the uniforms as if they were to motivate. It was required by both teams to wear them not Georgia’s idea. Boise St. beat Virginia Tech last year but so did James Madison. So don’t think VT was such a powerhouse at the beginning of the year.

Um, the uniforms are not required, but were agreed to by both teams. It’s the Chick-fil-a bowl, not Nike bowl. But Nike’s almighty dollars speak very persuasively.

This game will be won in the trenches! Put the squeeze on Moore and cover the secondary. I’m expecting some sacks. We’re gonna see what the 3-4 is all about. GO DAWGS!! Don’t hurt Moore, just give him a taste of the Big Dome grass!

My sentiments, exactly. I was a year ahead of you, class of ‘65.
Until the dawgs prove it on the field, I see no proof that they’re any better then last season and could be worse considering graduation, early departures, etc. They have the talent to be a very good team but lack(ed) basic tackling skills and couldn’t cover a blanket last season and don’t get me started on the O lines performance and at times the play calling of Bobo.
Maybe pure talent and ability of a select few players on this years team will mean the difference between victory and defeat that wasn’t there last season given the fact AJ Green missed first 4 games. On paper GA should beat BSU given we’re bigger and supposedly more talented. That showed up in the 2005 game w/BSU. But this is not the same UGA team as in 2005 and definitely a much better Boise team that will show up in the Dome on Saturday.
The dawgs should win if all the hype is true and they’ve turned things around but if the Boise guys get wide open and their RB’s run free and through tackles, and our O line can’t open a hole w/a can opener, then our worst fears will come true. In this case I hate to say I was right so please Dawgs prove us wrong by erasing all doubts of lingering ghosts of seasons past. .
