ATHENS – Isaiah Crowell doesn’t know whether he will start at tailback in Georgia’s season opener against Boise State, but he probably won’t know what to do with himself if he doesn’t.
“I haven’t ever not started,” Crowell revealed Tuesday after practice.
And when he says ever, he means it.
The true freshman from Columbus said he started as a safety on defense in his first game as a 6-year-old little leaguer with the Eastway Cherokees. By Game 2, “Coach Buckner” (Crowell couldn’t recall his first name) came to his senses and moved Crowell to running back. And Crowell has been toting the rock with the first team ever since.
Of course, Georgia coach Mark Richt famously hinted on national signing day that Crowell could start his first game. “I wouldn’t be shocked to see him running that rock in the Dome against Boise State on the opening play if he does what he’s supposed to do,” Richt said last February.
At this point it seems likely that could happen. With just 10 days remaining before the Bulldogs face the No. 5-ranked Broncos in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in Atlanta, Crowell is solidly the No.1 tailback. Never mind that it’s by default.
Last year’s leading rushers Washaun Ealey and Caleb King were unable to stay with the team and junior Carlton Thomas is suspended forf the opener. And as of Tuesday evening, converted tailback Richard Samuel is still slowed with a strained quadriceps muscle and Crowell the majority of snaps with the No. 1 unit ahead of Ken Malcome and Brandon Harton.
Nevertheless, Crowell insists he’s neither hopeful nor expectant when it comes to taking the first snap on offense on Sept. 3.
“Starting is not a big deal to me,” he said. “I just want to do whatever I can do to help my team win.”
At this point, Crowell’s significant contribution is a more of a need than a wish for the Bulldogs. And a first-year starter in a first game against a Top 10 opponent is problematic.
“He just hasn’t experienced enough of the situations that are going to come down the pipe,” Richt said. “Has he had a chance to see every blitz against every protection that he needs to understand? The answer is no. In theory, you take mental reps and try to give him as many situations as possible. We haven’t given him every single scenario yet. But before these next 10 days are over, we hope to make sure he’s got enough to feel comfortable.
“The good news is he’s picking up things quickly and he doesn’t shy away from any kind of contact.”
For his part, Crowell appears to be holding cool and steady. He said he gets nervous before games but not the “throw-up-in-the-trash-can” kind of nervous. And claims he is largely unconcerned with how he does in his first game.
“Doing whatever I can do, going 100 percent every play and helping my team win, that’s my goal,” Crowell said. “Really nothing about yards or touchdowns. I’d like to have a lot of yards or a lot of touchdowns. But if it doesn’t happen I just want my team to come out on top and win.”
Here’s a link to video of Crowell’s entire interview Tuesday at DawgTime.com.
Let the games begin
Georgia will take its first major step toward game preparation on Wednesday when it holds a “dress rehearsal practice game” at Sanford Stadium. Richt said the workout will be 90-95 percent scout work, with the No. 1 offense and defense going against scout teams simulating Boise State and a lot of scripted situations.
“We’ll play a half of football,”Richt said. “We’ll get our pregame ready, go into a coin toss and we’ll actually name captains by then.”
The Bulldogs have an ideal situation for simulating Boise State’s offense. Left-handed quarterback Michael Tamburo – a transfer from Boise State – will simulate the Broncos’ heralded, left-handed quarterback Kellen Moore.
Georgia practiced for only an hour Tuesday in shorts and helmets to rest up for Wednesday’s work.
Injury report
Two new players were among the injured players dressed in green jerseys on Tuesday. Fullback Bruce Figgins was sidelined with “a pulled muscle” that Richt described as “not too serious.” Also, tailback Carlton Thomas, who is already out for the opener due to suspension, was sidelined to give a chronic ankle injury rest. . . . Starting split end Marlon Brown (ankle) and backup nose guard John Jenkins (hamstring) remained sidelined.
Samuel practiced in a green jersey but his mobility was clearly still affected as he ran and walked with a noticeable limp. . . . Freshman flanker Malcolm Mitchell (hip) was able to return to practice in a limited capacity but is expected to be close to full speed for Wednesday’s workout.

Awesome to see. I’m interested to see what does happen with our RB situation. Our defense is gonna be DIRTY
Also, when does the game start? Every schedule I look at says 8 pm et but the countdown on ajc has it starting at 9 pm et. Does coverage start at 8 and kickoff’s at 9? clarification would be awesome.

All you Georgia rednecks gonna get spanked by the Heisman-winning Kellen Moore. We might be smaller but we will come out a champion, then proceed to go undefeated and play for the National Championship. We’re far better than Auburn was last year with the crook of a QB.

I feel pretty good about Crowell being able to run the ball with speed and authority and burn Boise, but hopefully he’ll be a guy that holds onto the ball, and hopefully the O-Line blocks well enough that Crowell can find blitzes and pick them up without having to block missed assignments by others on top of the pressure Boise will natural try to produce.

Hope they keep the ‘walking wounded’ working in green non-concact jerserys letting them have more time to learn the blocking schemes and routes.
With a little luck with sprains and strains quickly healing, I feel our injuried RB’s, Big John at nose, Marlon Brown at WR, and some of the CB’s and DB’s that have been on injured reserve could easily return to primme form.
If our walking wounded heal appreciably and can learn their assignments,we should be ready for Boise State.
Stay and get healthy all Dawgs, and get ready to take it to the Blue Snurfs on the 3rd. Here’s hoping for their quick healing and for their burning desire to show all UGA fans and the SEC that Georgia is ready to play and show that UGA is back! .. GATA and Go Dawgs!

Anyone that thinks that Boise State is going to come down to Atlanta and beat Georgia in Georgia is out of their mind. It’s a joke that this team is ranked #5. Who have they beaten in the last 2 years to deserve a #5 ranking. Virginia Tech? That Virginia Tech team lost to James Madison the next week then ripped off 11 straight wins. They would not have beaten Virginia Tech at the end of the year. Last year they played a Virginia Tech team that was looking at them as just playing Boise State to start the year. Georgia players are looking at Boise State and national TV as a way to get redemption and earn their respect back which makes them dangerous. Boise State is going to find out again what big boy football is like in a big boy conference.

The talk of Boise being overrated is just absurd to me. I am as big as a Dawg fan as anyone, but whatever “big boy” team has taken on Boise State recently has usually left the stadium with their heads down. Examples include: Oklahoma. Oregon (twice). Texas Christian. Virginia Tech. Utah. etc… They know how to win the big games. The last time I saw our d in Athens we were making Tevin Washington look heismanesque and gt of all teams moving at will against us all night. I am hoping we improve this year, but – Expectations have gotten a little in sane that we would hold Boise under 28. Are they not on a different level than gt’s offense? We may be in the SEC but I have not seen an SEC d in a while. That may have been due to Willie Martinez. Hope i am wrong and we learned how to tackle this Summer. Speed was not the problem last year on d, it was the basics.

I echo kerryb’s sentiments. I am not sure why BS is ranked so high. Sure they had a great record last year. They beat VT, then played a bunch of patsies. Some they blew out, some were very close games. They have some solid seniors returning but lost the two best receivers from last year so the star QB is going to have to break-in some newbies where their offense is hinged. BS is certainly overmatched size-wise on both sides of the ball. I refuse to believe they are “faster” than our team. If JoeT’s conditioning has our guys in peak shape and Aaron manages the ball and clock well giving the D time to go 125% every series and get in some good early shots on KMoore, then I think BS is in for a long night. I don’t think we run up the score but 34-17 seems about right to me.

UGA, preseason national champs every season. When you were winning 10 every year, I could understand the optimism. But coming off of 6-7 and losing the best player on both sides of the ball, you still think you’ll win every game on the schedule. Delusional.
I just hope Crowell performs well, or you’ll be cursing him and calling him slurs when he messes up. Just like Samuels, Carlton Thomas, King, Washaun, Jasper and every other dud 4/5 star RB that comes through Uga. Besides Knowshon, what Uga running back in the last decade has been worth anything? Good luck IC, there is a long line of fail in recent “Tailback U” history.

@ “good lord” (as in good gravy) — did you watch the games last year? In your opinion, which game(s) were UGA totally overmatched (save UT), giving credence to your 6-7 delusional theory? Last year’s team was not a formula for success but they showed promise at times. Forcing the eventual national champs to squib it to start the 2nd half because they were desperate to score was no fluke.

I will be the first to agree coach Peterson is one heck of a good football coach, but Richt trained under the greatest razel-dazel-trickerooo coach of all times[Bobby Bowden]……….Coach Richt will do his best to play straight forward football, but watch out, both mentally and physically on the field, this is Mark Richt’s greatest chance to show the world what a fantastic coach he is!!!…………No, No, No I don’t have a dadgum crystal ball, can’t give you the score, but I will promise everyone one thing for sure. Coach Mark Richt will be right on top of the offense in this one. Coach Todd Grantham will have his boys on the D side pin their ears back, ready to attack…………Coach Lakatos will have the Dbackfield sharp as razors……….Yup, I can see “my” BULLDOGS enjoying a great win on September 3rd…………..But win or lose……..The Gorgia BULLDOGS are going to scratch and claw and throw everything including the dang kitchen at those “Blue Dudes” from Idaho………..RED

John Wooden has more NCAA National Championships, 10 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championships at UCLA 7 in a row and all 10 in a 12-year period. Wooden passed last year 4 months and 10 days short of 100 years old, of old age. Pat has 8 NCAA Women’s Basketball National Championships with the vols 1987,1989,1991,1996,1997,1998,2007,and last 3 years ago 2008. As players, both John Wooden and Pat Summitt, excelled – John’s legendary with state high school and college national championships as player. Pat’s 1071–199 for 84.3 win percentage as college basketball coach is a slightly higher win percentage than Gene Bess at 1114-290 as a college men’s basketball coach, still coaching at a junior college where he has won multiple national championships. Harry Statham has 1022-388 for 72.5 win percentage as men’s college basketball coach, moving to Division II. That is it for 1,000 win college basketball coaches.

“The attitude was bad, and the execution was worse.”
“Pretty much 2009 in a nutshell. No matter what/who I would expect the team to be more excited to play, and be more exciting to watch 2010 season. Much of that coming from a new staff, exited to coach rather than just trying to recover or survive. 2009 just seemed like the shadow of 2008 to me. Bad vibes all around. And if you think about it, why should we have been excited coming into the season 2009? Lost your big star players, the talent level not where it should have been, an unpopular staff, and a Head Coach having to spend his energy defending everybody from top to bottom, and some serious legitamate problem areas on the field that would have been a drag despite none of the above. 2010 feels more like the first of the next few years stretch. I think the fans will enjoy 2010 more it more even if the record isn’t much different.”

I’m excited about our Defense. I am concerned after reading a story on the Athens Banner Herald this AM that Richt is quoted as saying ” I hope Jenkins ( New nose guard from Mississippi JC) can help us this year”. Was hoping he would come in and dominate like Cody did for Bama. I am not hearing that from the coaches. I do think he will help and give us depth, but looks like Geathers will be the man.

BLU TURF,
Do you have a designated player to pick up your QB’s butt when he gets planted by the UGA defense. Your QB is truely going to know what the term means, ” A game of football is a marathon”.
The tackle that has to protect his blindside has never started for you. The center had a leg injury last year and has to stare at one of two nose tackles that outweight him by 60 pounds and are a half of a foot taller. UGA’s linebackers are the biggest, fastest and strongest, your team will face all year, in your wacked out conference. Your QB is going to have happy feet so much, he will think he is dancing at a square dance for two days after the game.
You do have a fast defense, but it is much smaller than the O line of UGA and we have a TE almost as big as your biggest D lineman. Speed kills, remember that, as UGA will run you to death with theirs. We will either run a tailback that can juke you at the line and leave you behind grasping for a body that is already past them, and then for a change of pace, we can use a TB that will mow you down. You might even see a big fullback toting the rock on occasion, that will be a load for your defense to bring down.
You would do well to go back to your blue turf fan blogs and brag there because that is about the only place you are going to win this game at. The Dome will be your doom.

I went back and looked at VT depth chart last year that played in the boise game.
QB was solid
RB was solid
??? at WR
The big thing I noticed was the lines were undersized compared to ours. We average about 30 pounds more on the OL and DL. Plus, VT was breaking in a lot of young players on defense.
After trying to give the game away, VT took the lead and Boise came back late and won it.
Key folks missing for Boise
WR-Young
WR-Pettus
OC-Bryan Hansin(at Texas now)
They also have a freshman kicker. We have Walsh.
They are a good team but they are not national title worthy IMO if they competed in our league week after week.
I say a 3-5 point win for UGA wiht no more than 48 points scored.

Crowell didn’t win this job by default. He is the best we have, just young. Samuel is there to be his character coach and to provide a changeup of more size at RB. Thomas Brwon is also being a great mentor to Crowell.
This kid is trying to do things right and for that I give him credit. He is not spouting about being the featured back and running into parking garages.
He may not be the greatest thing we have ever seen but I am sure pleased with what I am hearing. I also will be pulling for Samuel to get back healthy.

VT is the most overrated joke in all of college football
That’s why they lost to Boise
That’s why they lost to JMU
That’s why Stanford raped them
Their lines are nowhere near the size of ours. They make their living in a watered down ACC. All that is about to change as Jimbo will own the ACC like Bobby did.

Richt is on the hot seat.
When you look at UGA over his tenure, the last 3 years have been a dissappointment.
This schedule is set up for 9 or 10 wins. If he goes 8-4 or less, I will be wanting him gone.
VT has underachieved when put on the national stage. They are 1-19 versus the top 10 and consistently lose their BCS bowl game after winning a watered down ACC
You put us in the ACC and we win it more times than not and you know it.
Boise plays 2 or maybe 3 legit games per year. The other 9 or 10 are against teams that SEC schools play as OOC cupcakes. They are conference games for Boise. I have no respect for that.
Put them in the SEC. If they go 11-1 or 12-0 in the SEC, then I buy it. Problem is, they wouldn’t go 11-1 or 12-0 in the SEC.

Second, is that the same VT team that lost to James Madison the very next week? Very impressive JMU school. I bet they could beat Tech. Same Oregon school that couldn’t match Auburn’s speed? Yup, that’s the one. That same QB that beat Oklahoma is the same one that UGA destroyed just one year earlier. Also, we could use this same set and have Richard Samuel also blocking with these twin FBs for a QB Brandon Smith or that frosh Walker, with all of his speed and athleticism.

@GT Joe “I asked you how many SEC teams did they play in the past 3-4 years when BSU was legit.” ..
So let me see if I got this straight, when BSU beat Oklahoma, they weren’t legit? They were in a BCS bowl game when they did but they weren’t legit? And with much of that same team, especially the QB, they got busted up by UGA. You can’t make a legitimate case with BSU’s previous 4 or 5 OOC wins over a 7 year period. It doesn’t add up.

DawginLex,
LOL, you UGA fans really think that the size of your line is going to determine this game? Most defensive lines ARE bigger than OLines. Boise is more athletic and they’ll cut block, Boises coaches aren’t stupid. They aren’t going go toe to toe with a bigger line. Boise cut blocks and it slows down opposing Dlines enough for Kellen to make plays.
How do you think Georgia Tech’s smaller Oline put up over 500 yards of offense last year on UGA?

Tampa, BSU beat oklahoma in 2007 fiesta bowl. FOUR years ago. That was their “coming out party”. Before that, they were a curiosity at best. Today, no one doubts them. Except UGA fans.
Does BSU’s schedule really matter for THIS game? They have beaten FAR better teams than UGA. Kellen Moore is an absolute stud. The probably have the best coach in college football.
And UGA’s last game was that debacle against central florida.

AGAIN, all the pressure is on BSU. They are a top 5 team who, like it or not, DOES HAVE TO PROVE THEY BELONG. They haven’t won an SEC game before, they know if they lose game 1, their shot at the NC is pretty much over, and they have a QB that is SUPPOSED to be all-world. UGA? Well, most believe they are still rebuilding, coming off the less than stellar 6-7 season, lost AJ Green and have a lot of young players coming in. BSU has a mountain of pressure on them, end of story.

Didn’t UGA have a losing season last year and lose to UCF in lowly bowl?
GT has been more relevant lately, UGA has just been riding the coattails of a strong conference. UGA hasn’t actually competed in that conference lately.

2008 Western Athletic Conference 12–1 (8–0)
2009 Western Athletic Conference 14–0 (8–0)
2010 Western Athletic Conference 12–1 (7–1)
And how about this classic article repost from 2005’s game
Georgia 48, Boise State 13
It was supposed to be one of the most intriguing match-ups of the opening weekend of college football–two top 20 programs, squaring off. Boise State had a lot of momentum and buzz based on their bowl game showing last year and were heaviliy talked about for their wide-open offense. Meanwhile, Georgia had questions on both sides of the ball as to how to replace the senior leadership lost last year.
Someone must have forgot to mixed up the scripts for this one. Georgia looked like the world beaters on all sides of the ball Saturday afternoon while Boise State looked confuse and bewildered by the relentless attack of the Bulldogs. Georgia won the first game of the 2005 season in convincing fashion, 48-13.
They have been considered a “tough opponent” for more than 3-4 years GT, you just have to say that to try to prove your point. And yes, UGA is a class above GT. Put GT in the SEC and suddenly Vanderbilt looks like a powerhouse.

Their job is to get money into the game with an intriguing line both ways. A 3 point spread has a lot less to do with who they think will win and more to do with can they get money placed on both sides. You’re grabbing at straws here. None of your “facts” stick.

Let me educate you on lines. Linesmakers make the line based on their own analysis and publish it. If money comes in on one side, bookies can either leave the line the same because they think they are right and can win money, or they let the line change to mitigate risk.
This line hasn’t changed in a week. The bets are 53% BSU, 47% UGA. The linesmakers made a perfect line. Try spinning that.

Boise State is ranked in the top five…we’re barely in the top twenty, so let’s not let our Bulldog mouths get ahead of our fast a$$es. Do I think we can beat ‘em, sure…do I believe we will, you betcha…but based purely on what should be the expectations – last season’s results, returning talent (and lost talent) – we have no reason to expect to be favored – and I assume we’re not and/or won’t be.
Having said all that, the defense has got to be as good as we all hope it will be, cause I don’t see BS not being every bit as competitive as they have been in every game they’ve played since…let’s see…about ‘05. again, GT JOE, stay away from the odds makers talk. Fans money doesn’t drive the line. Most people betting on a game don’t even have a horse in the race so they can bet with their head, not their heart. And if you bet on odds makers by just taking the “favorite” every time, you will lose more money than you make all year, every year. Again, the line has less to do with who they think will win and by how much than it does with how to bring in an even stake on both teams.

Back to these lines, if the line started at 7, and this is an away game basically, that means that BSU would be -10 if the game was in Boise.
Just an FYI, linesmakers don’t see this game being close. But the betting public does. And again, the linesmakers are more right than wrong, otherwise they’d be flippin burgers.
GT Joe

Um tampa, you clearly are not understanding what I’m typing.
I didn’t say take the favorite every time. If a linesmakers sets the line at 7, he thinks that it’s a 50/50 probability that the game will be decided by more than 7 or less than 7 points.
After that, it’s the betting public that drives line (in this case, money has poured onto UGA, driving the line down to 3). So now at 3, the betting is more or less 50/50 on the game.
But the PRO linesmakers saw the game as a 7. Anyone betting on BSU would get a bargain bet, UGA bets, not so much.
The PROs saw the game as boise by 7. Which means that BSU has a very HIGH probability of winning the game.

Eventually you will come out flat–Boise State did several times last year. But you can play flat and still beat Coastal Carolina. I understand that a schedule does not put points on the board vs Boise state.
But what makes one think that Boise has what it takes to win?
what do they list as their reasoning.
special teams UGA (boise had horrible coverage unit last year) UGA has one of the best returners in the country.
kicking team UGA (boise is playing a freshman)
defense UGA they are only getting better here with another year under their belt with new D
offense: ? remains to be seen. (boise lost their receivers)
overall UGA

GT Joe, When did the Las Vegas bowl become a BCS game.Boise has a nice well coached team , an since anything is possible they could beat UGA next weekend, but Joe your bias toward UGA obviously skews your ability to evaluate talent. In an earlier post you stated tech and Georgia are about even, take a glance at the rosters and tell me the 3-4 Tech players that would be on UGA 2 deep. The past 3 seasons UGA has consistently played down to its competition, that they could play so poorly in 2010 tech game and still win speaks volumes as to how far tech has sunk under PJ.

If, in your opinion, we are that bad–and you can’t beat us…where does that leave you?
That fact is you run a gimicky offense that is difficult to prepare for. If we saw it more than once a year, it would probably be worth devoting more prep time–but there are only 2 or 3 colleges that run that garbage; so we are better off preparing for offenses we’ll see more often. Couple your gimick with our lack of discipline on defense and what do you get?

1900-1909 Tech 5-1
1910-1919-UGA 4-2
1920-1929 tech 3-2-1
1930-1939 UGA 5-2-3

1) the guys making the lines try to keep even money on both sides of the games. They make their money on the “juice” not the gambling. PRO gamblers make their money on gambling who will win and they think 7 is way too high. Also fans typically bet $20-$500, PROs bet $1000s per game.
2) 1-2 is hardly a coin flip
3) Does having a lot of rushing yards add points to the board either?
4) does cheering for another team to beat us change the record?
5) Does coming close count as wins now?
6) You run an outdated offense that has caused the talent level to drop so severely that you should paint your field white and gold so will say something about your crap program

3 facts about this game for all UGA fans:
1) BSU has never worn the target against a physically superior team. They are not just predicted to, they are EXPECTED to win.
2) BSU has never beaten a SEC team.
3) They are talented and well coached.
They will cut block the fool out of us. Speed and size mean nothing if they are laying on the ground. They will use misdirection and trickery to keep us on our heels and an overly aggressive defense could give up some really big plays early. If we can keep it within a touchdown at half we will win.

Nate and Tampa are complete fools when it comes to betting. Save your money and dont gamble.
A linesmaker (aka handicapper) makes the initial line. They don’t care about juice, they dont work for bookmakers. Bookmakers will move the line based on the betting public. Idiots.
Linesmakers are smarter than the public, otherwise they’d be working at Target with you fools. They get paid to know who will win and by how much. They said, BSU by 7. The public (which usually loses) drove the line down to 3 by piling onto UGA.
It’s so hard conversing with idiots, but i really can’t explain it any better. Nate and Tampa, if you don’t get it, don’t gamble. It’s idiots like you that help build those massive casinos in the desert.

Oddsmaker vs. Bookie
What’s the difference between an oddsmaker and a bookie? A bookie’s job is purely mechanical. He gets the line from Vegas or another source, offers bets at those odds, then collects money from the losers, pays out to the winners and keeps the vig. Oddsmakers don’t actually take bets — they study the games and set the lines. Bookies often adjust the spreads for their games, so they do a little oddsmaking, and oddsmakers work for casinos, which operate sports books that take bets.
Compliments of “How Stuff Works” .. So, based on this, the linesmaker, or oddsmaker (since there is only a betting line in sports like baseball and hockey) does work for Bellagio and Caesars. Both have a play in the casinos. However, its still more in understanding the process and why odds fluctuate. The fact is, when the line started at 7, a flood of money came in on UGA (again, most likely not from UGA fans, from gamblers whose only stake in the game is the money they put on it). There are not enough UGA fans betting to move a line by 3.5-4 points. It has to come from the professional gambling community.

Tampa, I can only lead you to the facts. What you do with them is up to you. I gave you the website of the most respected linesmakers on planet earth, they supply all the casinos with the initial lines.
But if you prefer “how stuff works”, go with it. Ignorance is bliss.
The gambling public is dumb. They bet on the home teams. They bet on the teams they know. They bet on the teams they like. All of these skew towards UGA. But the linesmakers said BSU by 7.
You should put your team pride aside and bet with your brain for once. Root for UGA but bet on BSU. Especially at -3. Sure upsets do happen, but the the odds are on BSU covering 3 easy.

If you had a clue, you wouldn’t be thinking the oddsmakers are all that in terms of sports knowledge. They HOPE to beat the general public 11-10 through out the year and know that their ability to stay profitable depends on long term staying power. That’s why the casinos are the biggest ones out there. They can take hits 3 weeks in a row and still make a ton on week 4
GT Joe

Wow, let’s try this one ..
http://knolt.com/how-sports-betting-lines-are-determined/
Then maybe you will understand that the betting “public” was probably leaning more BSU which is why they moved the line down to 3 to even out the action. These guys don’t care about the game, they care about the cash.

GT Joe
August 24th, 2011

an oddsmaker doesn’t care about beating the public cause they don’t have a dog in that fight. They just set a line that casinos/bookies use. What those casinos do with it (like moving the line) is up to them.
LVSC is probably judged on whether or not their lines, over the long haul, results in a 50-50 split between the favorite and underdog (at their original line, not the final line that bookies create).
GT Joe

Put it this way, if LVSC had BSU by 7, then:
1. BSU is a big favorite in this game according to the most respected and powerful linesmakers in the world.
2. Taking BSU at -3 is an absolute bargain bet.

bigtime, Lee was 3rd ranked qb out of NC last year, only 2 offers from SEC schools tell you about all you need to know. Tech starting lineup is talent poor I guarantee you any freshmen that was worth anything would be starting.Pre season all ACC 1 player and he may be the only player on offense that would play elsewhere Uzzi. On defense you have 1 linebacker Attachou that show s promise, the DE cross looks like he may be good and Johnson from you defensive backfield looks to have some potential, outside of those not much. This is what all tech fans have been waiting on PJ with his players. No depth at all, because of previous years recruiting fiascoes. Pj coaching in the Big Sky in 2013.No flames just facts.

GT JOE,
When Tech. plays teams of the caliber that UGA plays in a given year and then, UGA and Tech. end up with the same record, perhaps then they might be equal except for the fact that Tech. will lose to UGA, like they have quite often. The ACC doesn’t come close to the level of competition that the SEC provides so it is a mute point.

Boise Who? How many scholarship guys did any team in the SEC lose to B-team Boise? I heard that the Sec is looking for a few good teams, and the SEC didn’t invite B-team Boise. I wish Boise would comeand play in the SEC. Boise has two games in the season, the one team that is average on their schedule, and a BCS Bowl game because B-teamers have beaten so many ranked teams. Every blind squirel finds a nut. If the B-teamers players in the Sec, they would be no better than Kentucky. If B-teamers palyed in the Sec, they would be 7-5 or 8-4 if they played Tech. It is a shame when a team has only two games all season long. I would like to see them play Alabama, LSU, Geoargia, Florida, etc. week after week, but there are no tampons in Football.
