ATHENS — Greetings from steamy-hot Woodruff Practice Fields. It’s considerably warmer out there today as the Bulldogs went through Practice 9 of 29 they’ll have during preseason camp. It was seven degrees hotter at the start (87) today than it was for the last regular practice.
Today Georgia is in “shells,” as in shoulder pads and helmets and shorts. The good news is a lot of injured guys are getting back on the field. The bad news is there are some new injured guys.
CB Brandon Boykin (hamstring), OLB Cornelius Washington (hamstring), FS Jakar Hamilton (hamstring), OLB Sterling Bailey (shoulder), TB Brandon Harton (concussion), CB Derek Owens (neck) remain in green jerseys, signifiying no contact, but were dressed out and running through drills and participating in teamwork. That’s not surprising since the Bulldogs are entering the second third of camp, which is the point they start to settle on personnel for the opening game. Boykin and Washington are starters, of course, and Hamilton used to be.
Unfortunately, some new faces joined the sidelined crew. It looks like they might have finally shut done TB Ken “Boo” Malcome and his troublesome groin. He was joined by CB Jordan Love and CB Nick Marshall. We’ll have to wait until after practice to find out the nature and extent of their injuries.
Also, outside linebacker T.J. Stripling was riding an exercise bike very slowly on the sideline and occasionally extending the right knee he had surgery on last season. He was not in green, however, indicating it probably started bothering him this morning. We’ll keep a close eye on that as Stripling is a player that figures to contribute in several areas.
The big buzz around the football complex is today is the first day freshmen will be available for interviews. They’re starting off by letting us talk to defensive rookies today, and I plan to catchup with Ray Drew, John Jenkins and Damian Swann, to name a few. Tomorrow we get the offensive guys, which of course will mean Isaiah Crowell and Malcolm Mitchell will get a lot of attention.
In other news this morning, recruiting outlets everywhere are reporting that wide receiver C.J. Curry of Flowery Branch de-committed to UGA and committed to Oklahoma State. And Marc Weiszer of the Athens Banner-Herald, who’s always over Georgia’s future schedules, reports that the Bulldogs have picked up Louisiana-Monroe for the 2015 season. So get your tickets now!
Here’s some good video from my pal Guy Prokay over at DawgTime.com (check out their magazine, in stores now) of Crowell working on his pass blocking with coach Bryan McClendon. LINK HERE.
Check back all day for continuous updates.

appearantly moleman’s mind has turned the sound of crickets chirping into the crash a rimshot to shield himself from the awkwardness that follows everytime he speaks.

I pulled a hamstring chasing a motorscooter down Baxter yesterday, but I should be ok for the pool party. Coach said I had to wear a waterproof diaper, but I won’t be the only one. Some of the players have issues, actually bigger issues than me, and Coach treats all of us the same, except for Crowell.. Coach is keeping his pool outfit a secret this year, but I saw him looking at some pictures of Lady Gaga. He also likes those chicks in that vampire show.

Wow OSU kicked UGA’s butt again! Can’t wait to crush your dreams again this year, with a first year coach and players that aren’t suited to his system. Please, Please keep Richt!
ps
If you fire him you aren’t gonna be able to get anyone good to take the job, so you GOTTA KEEP ‘EM, or give the job to the guy that was your 4th choice for DC, and stunk it up last year, Fatty Grantham as the head coach at UGA, that’d be perfect.

It must be miserable to have such a pathetic meaningless existance that you have to live on a blog for a team you hate just to try and annoy that teams fans. Since I have an abundance of friends and family I will never know the utter despair these wretched little nobodys feel every single day as they fight the desire just to end it all.
If I were as good a man as CMR I would pray for these despondant losers, but I admit I laugh at them instead.

Wow Biggdawgk summed up the way I fel about all the haters perfectly. It is easy to know who he is talking about. Just count the number of times some of these clowns post bitter comments about UGA and you know which ones are trying to work up their nerve to step off the ledge.
moleman go for it you won’t be missed

From the looks of the Crowell video, he will be a liability as a Pass Blocker. Coach McClendon is coachin ‘em up but its gonna take some time. He may get Murray killed a couple of times this year but he will learn. Thanks Chip!

One of the other UGA sites reported that 2015 ULM game yesterday morning. It wasn’t Weiszer.

Why is there no report by you that Richard Samuel fumbled the football again, as is obvious, about him ?
The fumble was returned 65 yards for a TD.
Again, I state we will put the ball on the carpet 30 times this season and point out as well, that we do a very poor job of teaching our offensive players to fall on the football.
We also, obviously, are pitiful at teaching our players how to hold the football. This is a learned skill. It is taught. So, too, is technique to fall on the football for the offense.
Our offense is not very good.
Get that ?
