Quarterback-turned-wide receiver Logan Gray will transfer to Colorado for his final season of college football.
Gray revealed his intentions to leave Georgia last February and visited Colorado this past weekend. He decided on Colorado on Monday, according to the Brush News Tribune.
“They told me that they have a couple pretty strong wide receivers … but they could definitely use some help,”Gray told the Colorado newspaper. “And then obviously returning punts. They’re looking for another guy to help make an impact on offense and special teams.”
Gray’s younger brother is a student at Colorado, which was a big reason he said he picked the Buffaloes over other options. Gray will be eligible to play next season under NCAA rules because he graduated from Georgia in four years and will be attending a school that has a graduate program not offered at Georgia.

Not everyone is a Stafford or Green. Some people come in, compete and contribute, but don’t star. That has been Gray’s role and he did it well. In the mean time he took care of his business and graduated in four years. He is taking his UGA degree and going to graduate school, where he will use his last year of eligibility and play with his brother. That’s a great personal story. The NFL is not waiting, but Gray used his skills to get a great education and I am sure he enjoyed himself at the same time.
He also tried to get on the field at UGA by using his talents at punt returner. He has sure hands and he is quick. Remember his strength is as an option quarterback. The running skills are still there. This all says a lot about Gray as a person. That fact that he never became the starter was probably disappointing but he kept at it, contributing and competing. That’s what its all about. Best wishes to the young man, whatever he decides to do.

Yarddawg: Gray was a four-star prospect, rated No. 10 QB in America by one scout service.

He was born in the summer of his 22nd year.
Coming home to a place he’d never been before.
He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again.
You might say he found a key for every door.

In a few days Bill King will do an article on this topic. He waits for someone else to break the news then does his little spill and takeoff on it.

I think the bigger news is a UGA football player graduated in four years.

I don’t know what’s more shocking; the fact Georgia turned a top blue chip QB prospect into a low wage wide receiver, or that after graduating from Georgia, he got into a decent grad program! hahahahahahaha

Gator guy is obviously a complete moron that doesn’t do any research. If he did he would see that UGA is ranked much higher then Colorado academically. In fact, UGA (#56) and UF (#53) are virtually ranked the same in academics.

Best of luck to Logan. He’s a heck of an athlete & was under-utilized at UGA. He (& Durham) should have gotten alot more passes last season. Logan’s a good student as well. I’ll be pullin’ for him to do well at CU.

Isn’t CU looking for a quarterback? Just a thought…he’ll LOVE Boulder…it’s one of the coolest cities in the country! The campus, ironically, is flatter than UGAs…he’ll do well there! Best of luck to him!!!

Good lord people. He was not a blue chip 5 star recruit. He was a 4 star athletic QB in highschool. He was given every oppurtunity to play and start at QB but he was just not consistent enough and could not make all the throws required for the system. Not the coaches fault it just is what it is.

Where is the idiot who kept saying Logan was going to CU and was going to be the starting QB????
He is going to try and get a backup WR spot.
Hansen is the QB and is a 5th yr senior who is the undisputed 1st teamer.
Same idiot GUARANTEED Zach Mett would start at LSU.
Mett is 3rd string.

Its amazing how many know-it-alls on here have all this to say about UGA ruining his QB career or finding another position for him..Funny how when other programs do it and yes it happens with alot of players that go to a Div 1 school and find the depth chart or competition is much greater…You can bet that probably at any major level Div 1 college program, Logan would have had a hard time being the starter…too much talent at these schools at the QB position…Logan wanted to play and wanted to play and contribute, not be 2nd or 3rd in line, can’t blame him or the coaches for that…the fact that he was a team player, to me earns him a ton of respect…Again too many get caught up in the number of stars coming out of high school that a kid has…When will you learn that the only way you can judge if a kid will live up to the hype, is when they get on campus and actually starts participating in workouts…success in high school does not always transfer to success in college..with that being said…I think that Logan has no doubt been successful in many ways at UGA not only on the field but as a student athlete…..go dawgs and good luck Logan…

Stinger:
The mouth breathers saying Logan “got a raw deal” or that he “was screwed by CMR” are the same clowns that want John Gruden as our next HC.
Logan is far too small to be a QB in D-1. What I saw was that his throwing motion didn’t work in the pocket behind those huge OL. Some QB’s (Aaron Murray, Drew Brees, Doug Flutie) can be short and have no problem if they have the right motion.
He did have good quicks and looks like a prototype for slot receiver.

Logan beat out Murray over the Spring, really showed Murray up on G-Day. Yeah, Gray’s a better QB than Murray, but that ain’t sayin a whole lot. Murray went 0-6 against good teams last year.

Transferring–good for Gray. If Coach Richt’s gonna just start players at QB wh9 clearly arn’t even #2 on the depth chart, what’s a guy gonna do? Transfer, the more guys that do, the quicker Richt’s out.

No stinger, there really is not a divided opinions on Logan Gray. It is what it is. What you are reading is just a handful of folks finding their latest excuse to play the only worn out song they know. Logan Gray has nothing to do with that. It could have just as easily have been an article about turf management services. It wouldn’t be the right kind somehow..

Bo and Terry-the same idiot
THERE YOU ARE. I WONDERED WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN.
Gray can’t play QB at CU much less Georgia.
how ’bout that Zach Mett? 3rd string at LSU. Already recruited over for next year with a stud freshman coming in.
Your 2 predictions about Gray being the starting QB at CU and Mett starting at LSU aren’t exactly working out are they?
Abused again. I have defeated you so many times and proved you ignorant that it actually is getting boring

He never embarrassed the program. He graduated “on-time” if not before. He is a good runner and can pass a bit. He would have started three years at Tech.

My dad and all of my paternal side family of his generation are GENUINE Florida Gators from Sarasota, Boca Raton and Jacksonville and Pensacola. I had the pleasure to call one of them two weeks ago and he is now 86. Retired south Florida HS principal he is.
We spoke of his Gators ( two of his brothers played for them) and he said ” Cuz, until Spurrier arrived as a coach ( early 90s) we were nothing” . “NOTHING” means no aspirations, no future, no being, just nuttin goin on. Down and out is another definition.
Yes, Florida for about 20 years has done well and they ahve owned my Dogs. I am in my 60s now and so I know our REAL HISTORY.
College ball is about traditions and revivals and reversals of fortunes. Long term and currently, UGA owns Florida ………….always has, always will. My Gator cousin agreed with me.
Twenty or twenty one years?? That ain’t nuttin and my relative knows that Florida will be returning to their former level of nothingness. His words, not mine.
Goooooooooooooooooooooo Dogs.

Doesn’t sound like a transfer to me. If I understand correctly, he graduated from UGA and has decided to pursue a masters degree at another school. If he has eligibility left and wants to play, good for him. CU has a beautiful campus, 30 + miles to rocky Mtn. National Park, great skiing in Summit County about 1-2 hrs away, so sounds like a great set up for him.I wonder what advanced degree he is pursuing that UGA did not offer for him to have to go elsewhere? Anyone know what that might be? My Missouri relatives and friends told me that he was a very good high school qb., and that when he signed, we were going to get a good one. Sorry that it did not work out for him, but he is certainly not the first one to have that kind of an experience. I wish him well and hope that he gets on the field with the Buffs this fall.

For the most part, comments about this young man have been respectful and fair. The 20% as#h$%&s demonstrate why the UGA fans are held in such low regard by the rest of the members of the human race. Good luck to Mr.Gray in all his future endeavors.

Don’t forget you also have Makiri Pugh (Spelling?) out of Charlotte at CB that transferred to CU from the Dawgs. Now that CU lost those two good corners, will Pugh compete for some playing time? I hear the new coaches like the way the QB has played this Spring.
