I always hate reading stats after a scrimmage. When the offensive stats are lopsided you fear the worst for the defense and vice versa.
But I am just glad to be reading something.
Looking VERY forward to next Saturday, and hoping the weather cooperates. Not looking good on the 10 day forecast as of now. But things change quick in the spring Georgia air.

I think we all know stats don’t mean squat during a spring scrimmage, but from what I hear the team is already getting their minds ready for Boise State. That’s good. UGA could be a 7 point underdog coming into that game. Don’t see it, but that’s what I understand.
Now let’s hope the Braves take to the Philly’s again!

Very encouraging to see both Mason & Lemay outplay Murray. Not surprised. Good to see some gamers there at QB. Mason 3 td’s, spectacular. Lemay, 100% accurate, no int’s, td on 2 passes? Holy cow.
I got em at QB right now:
1- Mason
2- Lemay
3- Murray
Let the games begin.

Turns out Richt’s prognosis of Lemay being way behind Murray was off by a mile. Reminds me of last Spring when Murray was heralded all Spring, and the other QB’s Gray & Mett were said to be way behind.
Looks like Lemay & Mason are getting better response from receivers and teammates than Murray.

Hutson Mason…light em up. 3 touchdown’s, very nice job. Way ahead of where I thought he’d be this early. Then agin, he does hold the state of Georgia records for touchdowns. Go Hutson Mason.

Richt cited Murray’s 9 yard pass as a big play combination? Sure. Not quite compared to Lemay’s 66 yard bomb, or Mason’s 45 yard bomb. Boy, those 2 guys can throw the deep ball.

I have to agree with Sam. Some of you are going WAY overboard over a scrimmage. Some of you that think Murray is not a good QB really have no clue about football. He will be the starter this coming fall. Half of these posts actually back up what fans from other teams say about our fan base. Some of this stuff is embarrassing!

Mason needed to go to a school that would let him throw 60 times a game and not mind if he throws 3 interceptions. He will never play ahead of Murray as long as he just throws the ball just to be throwing it. Maybe the receiver will catch it whether he is open or not, attitude. CMR would rather the QB only throw 1 touchdown with no interceptions than 3 touchdowns with 3 interceptions. CMR will never change his offense philosophy to that of a shoot out. CMR will run the ball as many times a game as throw the ball. If Mason wants to impress CMR then he need to take less chances so he want have such a poor interception ratio. He had 3 interception against defensive backs that are 2nd and 3rd string. Most of the 1st team didn’t even play. You can’t praise LeMay yet he didn’t even play very much. He is still learning the play book. But, if LeMay proves he can complete at least 60% of his pass with no interceptions I hope that CMR will let him play. As short as Murray is he will never be a success as a pocket passer , he will need to roll out most of the times. If he stays in the pocket he needs to decide quicker if he is going to throw or run. Murray was too slow last year deciding which to do. Hesitating even for a few seconds will let the defense close any creases that were open.

There were no stats reported on the last scrimmage, which was smart.
Scrimmage stats tell NOTHING. Any good play on offense could have been a slip-up from the defense. You don’t know what the set-ups were, if a play was an experiment, how new it was, if it will ever be used in a game, etc, etc.
For those of you actually reading anything into these numbers, you are clueless.

Very excited about this upcoming season. There are so many improvements to this team in the offseason.
1) No offseason arrests so far
Really like the idea of huge fb in short yardage situations plus he should be a good threat receiving out of the backfield
2) S & C seems to really be working based upon Size and strength differential from last year
3) Year 2 of CTG defense. Both players and coaches are more familiar with the system
4) IC presence will make WE and CK better because of competitiveness. IC is homerun threat we’ve been missing
5) Johnathon Jenkins and Jarvis Jones should be difference makers on defense
6) DB should be much improved this year.
7) We have best TE tandem in the nation
9) OL will be much improved this year. Sturdivant is fully health. Jones and Glenn will be better.I really like KG too.
10) We should have best kicking duo in nation
11) Attitude seems to be much improved and we’re hungry
12) Schedule is much easier. We don’t play LSU or Al. Plus Auburn and Florida will be down bigtime this year.
Overall, i think we should be able to win the east this year.

The kool aid drinkers said the same thing last year. Records and Stats dont lie. Whether its a scrimmage or a real game. 8 – 5 and 6 – 7 and a bowl loss to Mickey Mouse U. aint gonna cut for a 2 plus million dollar coach people. This aint little league its big time college football. Now get real a clue.

Why didn’t Murray’s teammates make plays for him? What’s up? Why can’t Murray get his guys to respond, especially considering he went against the #2 defense? Mason went against the #1 defense, thus the 2 picks. Murray going for 1 td against the #2 defense, Mason getting 3 td’s against the #1 defense? This changes EVERYTHING!

Again, don’t be stupid. Good to see some of the WR’s that we need to step up come away with some catches. Richard Samuel having 7 tackles is encouraging as well.
