Annual Richt/Fox speaking tour expands to 11 stops in four states

It’s almost time for Mark Richt and Mark Fox to hit the road on their annual spring speaking tour, which this year has been expanded to 11 stops in four states in conjunction with the UGA Alumni Association and Bulldog Club chapters.

The tour begins with an appearance April 20 in Savannah and includes stops in Jacksonville (April 21), Augusta (April 27), Macon (April 28), Columbus (May 5), Greenville, S.C. (May 11), Charlotte (May 12), Gainesville (May 17), Dalton (May 19) and Albany (May 24). Then, after a two-month break, the tour will conclude in Atlanta (July 25 at the Cobb Galleria).

The events, open to the public, begin with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by a program at 7 p.m.

The out-of-state spots were selected because of the large number of UGA fans and alumni there. According to Dave Muia, the UGA Athletic Association official who oversees fund-raising and alumni relations, Greenville and Charlotte were the top two out-of-state cities this year in terms of contributions to the Hartman Fund, which is Georgia’s fund-raising vehicle tied to football season tickets.

The Charlotte appearance, by the way, will be at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

Richt is scheduled to attend all 11 stops on the tour, while Fox is scheduled for all except Albany and possibly Augusta. Another member of the men’s basketball staff will speak when Fox can’t attend.

A full schedule of events, specific locations and contact information can be found by clicking here.

And for a flavor of the events, here’s a story I wrote from last year’s tour.

Tell Richt to stay away from Wendys in those towns. He’s put on a few pounds too .He has gotten fat and happy while resting on his laurels with Jim Donnan players which has resulted him not coaching well the last few years.

Well here is your chance boys!. Be sure and tell him how much you want him fired. And try not to giggle like a school girl when you shake his hand in person.

Louie Kablooie ignores the fact that the 2005 SEC Champions were nearly completely comprised of Richt-recruited athletes. The 2007 Bulldogs which finished ranked #2 in the nation were the same story. So, let’s not give Jim Donnan too much credit for Mark Richt’s success.

Just don’t do like the guy a few weeks ago. ( I rmemebr who it was, but no point in calling him out)

Announced he was going to see Richt speak at a Babtist Church Charity function. Then couldn’t get back to his laptop quick enough to say how he disagreed with “some of his religious beliefs”. Couldn’t explain when ask, which ones/why. All he knew is that that believing in heaven kept Richt from being “all he can be”unlike Tebow. (yes he actually said that).

Why don’t you go plan a new intentional unsportsmanlike? Win With could use a fresh idea.

Or, go throw in the highlights reel ( or better yet, the coaches tape) from the kicking game in the Liberty Bowl.

Or, go celebrate Garcia’s latest suspension. ( SEC! SEC!)

Lots of talk about 05,07? really? How so? ONE guys out of 30 post to make a very specific point, and that is what you took from the entire page.

Are you sure you were just making up a point out of thin air for lack of anything better to contribute? It really seemed that way.

We get it, you don’t like Richt.

When Richt says believing in Heaven keeps him from being all that he can be it means he knows he ccannot be perfect, but he will try. Don’t mean to get all religious on here. But I got the pleasure of meeting him at the coaches clinic and he was a very nice man and I can tell he is very excited about this season. He is not under estimating Boise or any other teams. He has come to compete this year. I support Richt.

I enjoy looking at the tape the last time our two teams met. Now that was fun!

” unsportsmanlike” – Not sure why you are pointing that one at me. You’re the one coming on here with your typical spew. I never said one thing negative about your team.

Idea, just a thought, think before you blog. Read what someone posts before posting back. I said don’t worry about correcting the error. We all knew what you were trying to say and you come back at me with this? My guess is that your about 5′6″ and have that angry “little big man” syndrome.

I actually like Richt a lot. Great guy. Unfortunately that is irrelevant. Football isn’t a popularity contest. Its about winning games and Richt hasn’t been very good at that lately. Most people who are not good at their jobs will face criticism. It isn’t about how nice they are or how many orphans they adopt from eastern europe. I have no idea why you act so dismayed when Richt gets the same treatment, but whatever dude. For the most part I like your posts. Keep up the good work.

Thanks.

Buckeye i know you went to watch the Masters, but a season opener with Vandy in 2013 is like a season opener with Toledo or UAB congrats on scheduling a weak SEC team to try and prove that Ohio State could win in the SEC you really proved a point there. We all know how good Vandy is.
