Annual Richt/Fox speaking tour expands to 11 stops in four states

It’s almost time for Mark Richt and Mark Fox to hit the road on their annual spring speaking tour, which this year has been expanded to 11 stops in four states in conjunction with the UGA Alumni Association and Bulldog Club chapters.

The tour begins with an appearance April 20 in Savannah and includes stops in Jacksonville (April 21), Augusta (April 27), Macon (April 28), Columbus (May 5), Greenville, S.C. (May 11), Charlotte (May 12), Gainesville (May 17), Dalton (May 19) and Albany (May 24). Then, after a two-month break, the tour will conclude in Atlanta (July 25 at the Cobb Galleria).

The events, open to the public, begin with a social hour at 6 p.m., followed by a program at 7 p.m.

The out-of-state spots were selected because of the large number of UGA fans and alumni there. According to Dave Muia, the UGA Athletic Association official who oversees fund-raising and alumni relations, Greenville and Charlotte were the top two out-of-state cities this year in terms of contributions to the Hartman Fund, which is Georgia’s fund-raising vehicle tied to football season tickets.

The Charlotte appearance, by the way, will be at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

Richt is scheduled to attend all 11 stops on the tour, while Fox is scheduled for all except Albany and possibly Augusta. Another member of the men’s basketball staff will speak when Fox can’t attend.

A full schedule of events, specific locations and contact information can be found by clicking here.

And for a flavor of the events, here’s a story I wrote from last year’s tour.

Bye, Bye Buckeye,,,,, As stated before, “But thank you, I now see the intelligence I’m working with here.” Stick that chest out for playing Vandy! Now that is funny. Not surprising that you feel that way, but hysterical.

05,

Give us a break. We’ve got to work our way up to uga in 2020/2021. We’ve got Oklahoma in 2016/2017 and Tennessee in 2018/2019. I’ll put up our out-of-conference scheduling up against anybody.

Vandy will surprise some folks in the next year or two, They usually send a quiver up your britches.

Over here across the pond, the Buckeyes are known for cheating and for losing to SEC teams in football. Is there anything that is worthwhile about your university?

And I get that coaches that lose games get critisized. I have done it quite a few times myself. Lose too many, too many years, they get fired. Everybody know all that. Thats what folks are trying to tell you. We already know all that, but that all been dealt with for this season so there is no point in pretending to control something we don’t. Certainly no need ot keep going on and on about it. Seen it, recognized it, factored it, dealt with it, moving on.

Buckeye even across the pond we know of Jesse Owens and as you say he was a good man. I must admit you had a good golfer come from there many years ago. Look for me, my mustache, my smile and especially my cigar on tv around Amen Corner.

I notice Richt didn’t schedule any stops in Alabama. No point in trying to recruit there. Why would a kid who could go to school at either of the nation’s last 2 bcs national champions and home of the last 2 Heisman winners want to go to a loser program in Georgia?

I am surprised CMR has the energy to do these tours. With out a doubt, one of the most lazy coaches I have ever seen. Some of the SEC coaches are not smarter, they just out work CMR. But Ga, don’t ever fire this man, I love to see you guys lose. Meanwhile he is cashing your 3 million dollar checks.
Oh yea, keep up the good work.

Tell him that you don’t think we’re getting our money’s worth at $2.9M and ask what is he going to do about it. Also, tell him why you think Bobo’s offensive schemes are so predictable that even a fan knows what to expect. And, tell him that what he did five years ago doesn’t count…Coach Dooley won a MNC and he’s no longer coaching. As a 40+ year season ticket purchaser and UGA grad, I’m planning on telling him that it’s past time to earn the respect of the players…you can’t be buddy and boss.

Someone here wrote that “UGA football is lousy” in so many words, and along with that, the same complaint about CMR. Fine, some of that lately IS ACCURATE but ………………. we alumni love the University of Georgia, because a college diploma is forever, baby.

HATE and JEALOUSY drive the anti UGA bloggers here. I retired at 55, now 62, so that ought to give you jealous haters reason to hate UGA some more. UGA man here, served quite well by my degree, thank you. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

Football success? It comes and goes but that eduaction is forever and THAT matters. Besides, sports is only gravy. You do not apply to a school because their program is winning NCs. If that were true, Auburn would be overwhelmed with applications.

Off to Augusta tomorrow at 545 AM to hook up with my BULLDOG BUDDIES.

I nominate Buckeye as “Pet Troll” of UGA blogs: Here’s my rationale:

1. He identifies himself and his true allegiance – make note TECHIES
2. He can spell and can construct grammatically correct sentences – make note War Plain Eagles and Tide Trolls
3. He’s actually pretty funny and I don’t think takes this too seriously – all of the above, including some “family in-breds”
4. He has a child graduating from a prestigious (don’t say it, Buckeye “The”) SEC university)
5. He just said he ain’t going away
6. He chooses to troll a relevant program – make note all of above
7. Probably too old for jorts or a mullet
8. He did not attend FL/Barn/Bama/TECH
9. I can’t stand Letterman so I’m stopping here

What’s not to love?

Auburn is NOT, I repeat IS NOT, going on probation. You losers have nothing to show
for 31 years of mediocre football and therefore resort to trying to crap on a team that
kicked your crappy 6-7 schools A$$.

Have fun in Memphis next season, bottom feeders.
