Georgia’s G-Day game will be televised

Georgia’s spring football game will be televised on CSS, according to UGA spokesman Claude Felton.

The annual G-Day intra-squad game is scheduled for 1 p.m. on April 16 in Sanford Stadium.

Matt Stewart and former Georgia quarterback Buck Belue will call the game, with sideline reporting from Maria Taylor.

Georgia resumed spring practice Tuesday after a 12-day interruption for the university’s spring break. The Bulldogs will practice three or four days per week up until the G-Day game. The next practice is Thursday.

Why did they practice one day and go to the beach?

@DawginLex, I’m guessing because they wanted to make sure that they got all of their practices in. I know it doesn’t make much sense, but, I guess a little bit of something is better than a lot of nothing.

I want to take my family badly this year to the game but most past GDay games is such a borefest. Can’t CMR do something to liven the game up?

I think they had a day of practice to get everyone together before Spring Break and discuss team rules, behavior expectations, etc. A team meeting would have been considered a practice so they had both.

Frank is right, that is exactly why you have one practice before spring break.

And to remind everyone not to get drunk and disorderly (especially if underage)while enjoying the break. And if you’re going to be driving make sure your license is not suspended.

Apparently, some didn’t listen as Richt stated some returned out of shape.

Joe T better kick into high gear with this bunch or Richt is gonna be gone

And if you are planning a home invasion involving using guns, cancel your plans and go to the beach instead.

I am getting tired of losing to Tech in baseball lately. Tech killed our Dawgs last night 15-6. By the end of the game, I was only one of a few UGA fans who stayed. We need to show support for the diamond dawgs. No reason Tech should dominate us in anything. We should dominate all sports.

I know in the past, I’ve paid $5 but there was also a couple of years where if brought some canned food items, admission was free. Don’t know what there plans are for this year. UGA ticket office 1-877-542-1231.

G-Day just ain’t what it used to be…. Come to think of it Georgia Football ain’t what it used to be….Coming off a losing 6-7 season last year and losing the talent we did does not make me feel very good about this year.

Last year it was miserable to watch…. I will probably stay home, but if Buck Belue is calling it, I may not watch – he gets on my nerves.

Yeah it is miserable to hear Buck Belue announce. He just needs to stick with Braves broadcasting. His two cents on Georgia football does not mean jack squat.

DawginLex: Richt said earlier that the reason for one practice before spring break was his desire to generally stick to a Tues-Thurs-Sat practice schedule while getting in the NCAA-allotted 15 practices by the G-Day game on April 16. Also, I think there might be some benefit under NCAA rules as far as meetings time by stretching spring practice into another week.

It would be news if this game were NOT on CSS. It being shown by them is normal then last few years unless ESPN wanted the game. If were going to be on one ESPN’s networks or not shown at all then that would be news story worthy.

If watching a scrimmage wasn’t boring enough already, you’ll have to suffer through listening to that total gomer buck belue as well. A fence post has more intelligence and insight to offer then buck belue.

I think it’s good to get a practice out of the way, give some of the guys some time to think about some of the changes to the system and then come back and hit it heavy after spring break. There certainly isn’t any harm in it. Also, it might have been a good time for Richt to get the group together and remind them what’s at stake if they make any poor decisions during the break. GO DAWGS! GATA!!!!

I will always respect Coach Richt and a really believe he will pull of an excellent season this year, but if he does fail to have a great season it will all land on his decision to continue to allow Coach Mike Bobo to call plays. It is not that I do not like Coach Bobo. I think he is a good person, but Spurrier said it well when quoted he will take over the play calling until he retires because as a coach who was successful as an offensive coordinator and now just a head coach it seems like all you do is just hang out on the sidelines and spend too much watching the offense come apart at the seams.

I find it very difficult to read some of these outrageously negative comments on this forum. Why so much hate against the most famous QB in UGA history, Buck Belue. You may say whatever you will about him but I’m grateful that he was there in our glory days. For what it’s worth, I’m certain that some of you “haters” on here aren’t “true” Dawg fans anyway. By the way……I am biased because he was part of the puzzle to help make Valdosta High School the official winningest high school in America. I’m already prepared to read the hate blogs against this comment. Bring it on. Go Dawgs…Go Valdosta Wildcats!!!!!!!!!

I’m not quite sure why, or how for that matter, a lot you people consider yourselves fans of UGA. All most of you do is bash CMR and his team! Way to support the team! They don’t need you and your “support”. If this is supporting your team then go find another ,I’m sure they can do without you. Thru thick or thin I’ll forever bleed red and black and continue to be optimistic about my Dawgs! I hear Tech needs a few fans.
