Georgia’s “Pro Day” will be closed to the public on Tuesday, but you can watch it online at ESPN3.com.
Cassidy Hubbarth and David Pollack will describe and analyze the action, starting at 10 a.m. from UGA’s practice fields. According to UGA, the event can be viewed at http://espn.go.com/espn3/index?id=162227
More than a dozen members of last season’s Georgia team, including projected first-round draft picks A.J. Green and Justin Houston, will work out for NFL scouts.
In addition to Green and Houston, other players scheduled to participate are: Clint Boling, Shaun Chapas, Vance Cuff, Chris Davis, Josh Davis, Akeem Dent, Demarcus Dobbs, Kris Durham, Darryl Gamble, Chad Gloer, Derek Rich and Kiante Tripp.
And among those expected to be on hand to watch: Detroit Lions (and former UGA) quarterback Matthew Stafford, the NFL’s No. 1 pick in 2009.

Durham had injuries every season at Georgia, he lacks toughness. Even if he gets drafted in the 7th round, which I doubt, he won’t last 5 minutes in the NFL, first hit, boom, out for the season. NFL guys love hitting the WR’s with an injury prone track record.

Gators worked out entire defense practically for NFL. That’s domination.

It should be impressive seeing a bunch of thugs who were never legitimate students. I wonder if any of these morons can even read.

Think about the football team THUGA puts on the field. 82% of the players are academically provisionally accepted, with Richt and his cronies knowing full well that they will use up all their coaching and tutors and elligibility and then have their asses kicked out on the street and soon be pushing grocery carts around Atlanta looking for a warm place to sleep. What a pitiful way to run the State’s flagship university.

Kris Durham is going to be an excellent late-round pick for some team. He has great hands and is faster than people think. Terrific possesion receiver for someone like the New England Patriots. I have a feeling they draft him late.

Way to recycle a post multiple times. Maybe I can come up with one paragraph and then copy it into every post about georgia tech….oh wait….nobody cares enough about tech to write articles about their team.

Volsfan – great post.
Gator Gus – if the Gators had their entire defense there for pro day, who is going to be there next year to play D for the Gators? Chomp on that a while.
Richt will right the ship. He beat Tech and Tenn last year, and almost beat Fla with their ever present home field advantage.
I’m looking forward to 2011.

Say fella…any idea what the series record was before 1990? No? It was similar domination in the opposite direction. We have lost all but 3 the last 20 or so years…yet we still hold the overall series lead. We must have really stomped them good for many many years if the last 20 haven’t won them the series lead, wouldn’t you say guy?
Football goes in cycles. This cycle too will end.

They are going to show this on espn3? Why in the world would anybody want to watch this except for pro scouts who will already be there? When did a pro day become an exciting televised event?

Will Friend’s not impressing potential recruits, your AD didn’t learn anything over here, he’s too chepa to get good coaches.
Welcome aboard future Pro Day OL Dunker.

@Russel:
You might want to examine the stats of a fellow by the name of Mack Strong. Brookstone HS class of 1989. UGA Classof 1993. Not a lot of TDs at UGA on his resume were there? And check out his yards per carry. Not impressed, are you? And look at UGA’s rushing yards his senior year. Not drafted — fullbacks go late if at all — and signed with Seattle as a free agent.
Fourteen seasons with the Seahawks later, do you think he cared very much whether someone such as you didn’t like his college numbers? I suspect his pro bowl trips and Super Bowl vs. the Steelers mattered more.
Chapas isn’t as fast as Mack was, but he is way bigger, exhibits the same leadership (a hallmark of Strong, per his coaches), and is a back-breaking blocker.
Eirther you didn’t watch much UGA football last year (understandble), or the year before, or you don’t get what fullbacks do. And perhaps you don’t listen to what people who DO get it think. You might note that Chapas was injured some last season and — while Munzenmaier gave it the old college try in his stead — UGA couldn’t block nearly as well without him. Bowl game offense was a good example, although showing up flat was the bigger issue there. I like Richt and want him around, but that game was a matter of coaching, as motivating players is something that college coaches must do.
I like Chapas’ chances.

Scouts couldn’t watch AJ Green run routes
UGA did not have a QB to run WR drills for Green & Durham and for a while it looked like A.J. wouldn’t do anything. Finally someone got a former QB from Montana to come throw to the WRs for their Pro Day. The problem? He’s a free agent and the NFL called all scouts and said they couldn’t watch! There were alot of very unhappy campers to say the least.
Way to get em ready for the pros Markie…I’ll bet AJ wishes he had gone to Bama now!
