The ACC released Georgia Tech’s (and other conference teams’) 2011 football schedules this afternoon. So just in case that news has any of you looking around for Georgia’s schedule –- most of you, I know, already have memorized it –- I figured I’d post it here again:
Sept. 3: vs. Boise State in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game in the Georgia Dome.
Sept. 10: vs. South Carolina in Athens.
Sept. 17: vs. Coastal Carolina in Athens.
Sept. 24: at Ole Miss.
Oct. 1: vs. Mississippi State in Athens.
Oct. 8: at Tennessee.
Oct. 15: at Vanderbilt.
Oct. 29: vs. Florida in Jacksonville.
Nov. 5: vs. New Mexico State in Athens.
Nov. 12: vs. Auburn in Athens.
Nov. 19: vs. Kentucky in Athens.
Nov. 26: at Georgia Tech.
A few things jump out:

There are a lot of words that describe Richt’s habit of losing more games 7 out of the last 8 season than the season before.
Look at the last 3 seasons, you atrophy from 11 wins to 10 in 2008, from 10 you decline to 8 in 2009, from 8 wins in 2009 you drop and descend into 6 wins in 2010.
Dilapidation describes it well for me. atrophy, corrosion, crumbling, decaying, decline, descent, dilapidation , downturn, drop, retrogression, rotting, ruin, slump, worsening

The Dawgs were not beaten last year but they did manage to beat themselves seven times. 2011 look for the Dawgs to win eleven games, they play for the SEC Dhamp. in Hot-Lanta for all the marbles. You heard it first here.

It’ll be tough for Richt to get 7 wins. Yeah, there are 3 easy wins on the schedule, Coastal Caro, Vanderbilt & New Mexico St. 3-0 there for sure. The rest of the schedule is tough. You got 5 top twenty five teams, last year Richt was 0-6 against winning teams, so that’s 0-5 right there, 2-3 is a best case scenario. Kentucky, Tenn, Ole miss, and Georgia Tech could all be losses, could go 0-4, maybe split em 2-2 best case. So 7-5 is best case for Georgia in 2011.

88% chance Richt wins less than 6 games in 2011, that’s his track record over last 8, he loses more than the year before 88% of the time.

If you’re an optimist, it’s slightly possible that Georgia will win more games (7 or more) in 2011 than 2010, you have a 11% chance, looking at Richt’s track record over the last 8 seasons.
True, 11% isn’t good odds, but at least there’s a tiny chance.

This is a 6-7 team that lost by far its best offensive player. Some of you guys saying that things will be so quickly turned around are dreaming. A 3-loss season should be considered a huge success for this team in reality.

It’s hillarious how UGA fans have such high expectations EVERY year. I see this year hasn’t changed. Many of you same geniuses made the same predictions last year. You lost AJ Green (no other WR on the roster comes close to him) and like 3 starting LB’s. How in the world are some of you predicting SEC/National Championships? Florida just had one of its worse teams in history and STILL beat the dogs. Get your head out of the clouds and understand who is on your roster.lol
