Mascot Uga VIII sidelined from bowl by illness; ‘Russ’ returns
MEMPHIS — Uga VIII will miss the Liberty Bowl on Friday because of illness.
Georgia’s bulldog mascot is sidelined with a “gastro-intestinal condition,” the university announced late Thursday afternoon, and did not make the trip to Memphis.
“Russ,” the former interim mascot, again will fill in, as he did for the final two games last season and the first six this year. Russ has bowl experience, having been in Shreveport for Georgia’s victory over Texas A&M in last season’s Independence Bowl.
Uga VIII took over as Georgia’s mascot at the Oct. 16 homecoming game against Vanderbilt.
Georgia plays Central Florida in the Liberty Bowl at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Well, one thing . . . there will be no a$$ painting this time. I am happy to have work. Even though they don’t leave a game ticket for me now that Big Bad Bruce is taking over I am still a bulldog through and through. How many running backs do we have for this game? I understand we may be short one or two again. I wonder how good this team would be if everybody showed up? Mascots included.

I don’t think Vlll can whip the Taco Bell chihuahua lets get rid of the Siler bloodline have a try out and the dog that shows the most fire gets the job. Vlll is like Richt real nice but just no fire. If we are bonded to a bloodline a Dooley would be coach. 2012 change em all!

You know, its sad when your mascot is something that has been inbred so much that this is what you have. It really, has been funny for years but it is past funny now. Georgia needs a player change, and quick. I mean, really, a freaking dog thats too sick to go to a freaking football game!

Time for Georgia to get another type of bulldog. Those English bulldogs have been bred to where they can’t really function. They can hardly breath and have all sorts of other problems. Stop inbreeding those dogs to make them look cute and deformed.

UGA VIII is smarter than any idiot Georgia fan who travels to watch their sorry team play in a meaningless bowl(again). And for all of you dumbasses waiting for the NCAA to punish AU, don’t hold your breath. AU hasn’t even been accused of any wrongdoing. UGA should be the school being investigated, no team should have twice as many arrests as wins. There has to be a rule aqainst having too many criminals on one team. Athens PD is thankful for UGA football, without the team they would have to lay off half the force.

Well well well…I think UGA VIII just played hookey. He actually faked his illness so he would not be embarassed by Georgia’s performance! He didn’t want to be on the same sideline as those losers!! He figured he would have a coronary like UGA VII (RIP) and just pretended that he had an illness so he can watch the game at home. That’s a pretty smart dog!! Anywho, I would like to thank all those Georgia fans who mocked, insulted, and ridiculed Tech’s season. This game just made my 2010!! Happy New Year to all and THWG!!!!
