Will King, Ealey write the script this time?

Please join the conversation on Jeff Schultz’s and Mark Bradley’s live blogs during the game.

Caleb King’s phone has been ringing this week. “I’m getting calls and stuff,” he said, from friends demanding to know: “What are you going to write this year? What are you going to write?”

King and fellow Georgia tailback Washaun Ealey wrote the now-famous words “I Run This State” on their bodies for last year’s game against Georgia Tech –- Ealey writing the message under his eyes and King on his arms. The NCAA this year outlawed messages on eye black, but as King noted: “I think we can still write on the arms.”

So, what are you going to write for Saturday night’s game against the Yellow Jackets?

“I don’t have a clue what I’m going to write, if I write anything,” King said. “Last time it just came at the last minute, so hopefully the same thing happens. If you think of something too hard, it probably won’t come out that good.”

King and Ealey made good on their words a year ago, running for 166 and 183 yards, respectively, against Tech -– the only time in the past six seasons Georgia has had two 100-yard rushers in the same game.

The tandem hasn’t fared as well this season. Ealey has rushed for 633 yards in 10 games (six starts) and King for 388 yards in seven games (four starts). Both have struggled to stay on the field.

“I was suspended, or he was suspended. I was hurt, or he was hurt,” King said. “This is pretty much like the first game we’re both 100 percent. So hopefully we can do what we did last year.”

A few other notes on Tech-Georgia eve:

  • This will be the first Tech-Georgia game since 1996 with neither team ranked in the nation’s Top 25.
  • This will be the first Tech-Georgia game ever to start at night in Sanford Stadium, as well as Georgia’s first night home game against any opponent this season. Tech did not play a home night game this season.
  • Georgia expects more than 100 recruits to attend the game.
  • Georgia leads the all-time series against Tech 60-37-5 or 60-39-5, depending on which school’s records you recognize.
  • Five of the past six games in the series have been decided by seven points or fewer.

Anyone who says Aaron Murray is a better option than Ealey & King when the game’s on the line doesn’t know what’s up.

Aaron Murray may be a nice guy, who says all the right stuff, who studies film a lot, but all we know for sure is, when the heat is on, he’s his worst.

3rd down, 3rd and 10, 4th quarter, 1st quarter, red zone, he’s AMONG THE WORST in the NCAA in passing accuracy.

There’s no reason for this, except he CHOKES UNDER PRESSURE.

King’s getting 5.3 ypc against Florida, Thomas is averaging 15 ypc, and Murray has ALREADY thrown 2 int’s and committed a disastrous fumble that rolled back 30 yards.

What does Bobo the genius do?

Let murray try to win it in overtime, PASSING THE BALL.

Murray throw into quadruple coverage, for his 3rd int of the game.

Game over.

Hutson Mason could have stretched the field, and brought 8 out of the box in the SC and MSU games.

Murray couldn’t.

If the D brings 8 in the box, you have to punish them with the long ball.

Murray couldn’t, 2 losses.

Murray lost the MSU & SC games, because he couldn’t get 8 out of box, nobody feared his arm. They dared Murray to beat them, and he couldn’t.

Murray lost the Colorado game with an errant handoff, where he should have read the blitz, audibled, or taken a sack.

Murray lost the Ark game, because he took sacks on the last possession, holding on to the ball too long, trying to decide who was open, agan poor reads, he shouldn’t made a good pre-snap read, and in 3 seconds, made a decision. 20 yards away from a game winnign field goal, and Murray choked again.

Murray lost the Auburn game by not audibling to the run more, when both RB’s and your O-Line is dominating at +6 ypc, you’ve got to ram it with the run.

Murray lost the Florida game with his 3 int’s and fumble.

IF the ajc required an IQ larger than your show size to post here, Marcus wouldn’t be allowed. You wouldn’t know the difference in an audible and a decibel if you ever stepped foot on a football field.

Systemic GT cheating

Jan Kemp’s saga was about 20 years back. GT’s recent and systemic cheating was only about 4 or 6 years ago.

When you UGA haters come on a blog ……………….do your homework. GT has recently created a liberal arts curriculum for its athletes but UGA is adding a Med School AND engineering to its curriculum. We are simply meeting the demands of our students. GT? Meeting the NEEDS of your coaches.

Get your facts right. Oh, one day, when you grow up and finally ( after 4 or 5 years ) leave Permimeter College, maybe you too can attend the greatest university in the world ………………..UGA.

Get ready Yellow Jackets ……………..we recall 2008 when we laid down in the second half. Y’all are gonna see AJ in action along with Kris Durden and Aaron Murray. Not one of thes men played in 09. Recall 09? Cox only threw about 5 passes and one sure TD was DROPPED by Wooten, while in full stride at the GT 25. Get ready for very MOBILE AARON MURRAY.

FBI also saw the AU/ Alabama game

WOnder where the agents with the FBI sat yesterday, while viewing the AU game. It is gonna be brutal when they announce their charges. Never, ever, in any UGA mis deeds with drink driving or gal pinching or helmet stealing or auto side swiping ( ealey IS a moron ) nor any of the Jan Kemp foolishness did the FBI get involved. Never.

Why are they looking around MSU and AU??? Money for players and M-O-B- presence. Mob? Yes, because of possible game fixings. Chizk? get that upraised fist pumped up. IN the BIG HOUSE you are gonna need a fist.

Go Dogs.

King and Ealey just need to play ball and learn what it means to carry on the torch passed to them by Moreno, Tate, Smith, Edwards, Hampton, Mclendon, Lumpkin, Pass, Walker, Henderson, Haynes, and all the other great UGA running backs.

Marcus,

Are you related to Hutson Mason?
Why such the hard-on for Murray?
You are bad mouthing a kid that turned 20 a few weeks ago…on a blog…brave….
By the way, Murray is 17th in NCAA Div 1-A QB rating with a rating of 156.9…right behind Michigan’s Denard Robinson. Also Murray is the highest rated freshman passer in the nation…

So in conclusion…you=fail

Unholy Triumvirate

November 27th, 2010

Ealey and King. It’s pushing it – even for UGA – to have two thugs like this at the same time. Add Green to the mix, and you get one of the unholiest triumvirates in the history of college football.

Why does Richt recruit gangbangers like this?

Fire Richt and everybody else and start over—-the sooner the better. Quit playing around like a bunch of kids and do something. Richt was good when he first game to UGA but those days are gone. Reality is what going on right now. And whats going on right now is the same ol song—booo hooo hooo—we cant run the ball —boo hoo hoo—so and so got locked up —-boo hoo hoo——wah wah wah——-same ol song and dance –my God will it ever end? And whats up with that defense that was suppose to be so good—-I see that Georgia Tech is running all over their a——ses. Never Mind!!!!!! God is hard trying to be a Georgia fan these days—-its the pitts!!

Bulldogs worst 6-6 team of all time. Decisions by Mark Wretch should have cost him his job. Win or no win! Very disappointing. Yellow Jackets grind out over 400 yards! Sure does not FEEL like a win. That said…

In defense of (and fairness for) Grantham, he’s installing a new D with the recruits of a different style DC. It will be a while yet before his worthiness is obvious or not. Unfortunately, this will give Richt more time that I do not believe he should get. At any rate, sure does feel good to squeak by tech even though UGA should stomp them by 40+ every year. At least we won.

Georgia tek is a 1-9 vs Coach Richt LOSER. Coach Richt cannot beat The SEC East opponents, cannot beat the Top 10 teams, every once in a while beats a legitimate Top 25 team, but he owns the lowly jackettes. After the game, Coach Richt went and hugged a reluctant Anthony Allen, Number 18 a senior. It appeared to everyone as if Anthony Allen could not get out of Coach Richt’s embrace any faster. On a night when lousy miserable Georgia tek could have won, they shot themselves in the foot with mistakes, giving up 3 touchdowns on turnovers and missed the extra point which ties the game 35-35 with 4:57 remaining. Both teams are 6-6 and St. Simons appears to be headed to Shreveport. How fitting. In the stands tonight for Georgia tek, there were only Nerds. Good Lord, those are 1 sorry bunch of loser Nerd fans. Of course, this game would never have been a game if Caleb Darnell King doesn’t fumble the football at the Georgia tek 9-yard line. Someone please let me know when Caleb Darnell King is gone from this football program. I am so over the entitled player he thinks he is. 2-7 on 3rd down conversions, Aaron Murray continued that struggle yet again tonight. God Almighty against Georgia tek’s “defense” of Al Groh no less this time. Thank God for the 4 Georgia tek turnovers to Georgia on the evening or that 3rd down Offensive Woes for UGA would have cost us a win over a patsy cupcake Georgia tek program # 34 in the nation in wins since 1959. Where in the world did Georgia tek come up with 4 different receivers to catch 2 passes each in the game ? The high school offense, once again, as last year too, should have kept running the ball when Washaun Ealey did not knee it after gaining the 1st down to run the clock out; because that offense cannot possibly throw the football. And, how about Marlon Brown’s game-saving fumble recovery ? Or, Aaron Murray’s fumble to nearly hand Georgia tek the game, since Todd Grantham’s Defense after 12 games – 6 losses – allows Georgia tek to rush the football for 411 yards and pass for another 101 yards, after a bye week to prepare. Sad statement on the hires of Coach Richt on his coaching staff, if you ask me.

To all you that want to poke fun at, ridicule or just flat out make you best attempts to ASSUME that you could make a better call than Coach Richt… well let me just say this. YOU CANT!!! Everyone loves him. He isn’t there because there are no other candidates. There are plenty. Because trust me… a head coaching job in the mighty SEC, would be a dream come true for ANY coach. I venture to guess that some would even take a pay cut to do so. Georgia has a great foundation in place. They have an awesome quarterback, great running backs, just a good team all around. Just need to get the running game “scheme” right to suit BOTH backs. Thats all. In my PERSONAL opinion, I think Ealey should be the feature back. Look what he’s done when he’s “carried” the load. Almost 300 yds and 8 tds in the 2 games King was out. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out.
