Caleb King’s phone has been ringing this week. “I’m getting calls and stuff,” he said, from friends demanding to know: “What are you going to write this year? What are you going to write?”
King and fellow Georgia tailback Washaun Ealey wrote the now-famous words “I Run This State” on their bodies for last year’s game against Georgia Tech –- Ealey writing the message under his eyes and King on his arms. The NCAA this year outlawed messages on eye black, but as King noted: “I think we can still write on the arms.”
So, what are you going to write for Saturday night’s game against the Yellow Jackets?
“I don’t have a clue what I’m going to write, if I write anything,” King said. “Last time it just came at the last minute, so hopefully the same thing happens. If you think of something too hard, it probably won’t come out that good.”
King and Ealey made good on their words a year ago, running for 166 and 183 yards, respectively, against Tech -– the only time in the past six seasons Georgia has had two 100-yard rushers in the same game.
The tandem hasn’t fared as well this season. Ealey has rushed for 633 yards in 10 games (six starts) and King for 388 yards in seven games (four starts). Both have struggled to stay on the field.
“I was suspended, or he was suspended. I was hurt, or he was hurt,” King said. “This is pretty much like the first game we’re both 100 percent. So hopefully we can do what we did last year.”

So great last year when CK4 and Ealey ran for 339 yards over the maggots! Looking forward to Dawgs making it 9 out of 10 against maggots.

It’s the same O-Line and the same RB’s as 2009, but you have a brand new rookie QB in Murray who can’t audible to the right run calls, and who isn’t a good enough deep ball passer to stop teams form putting 8 in the box.
You also have an OC in mike Bobo who doesn’t believe in the run 1st strategy that Alabama, and Florida have used to dominate the SEC.
King can run, averages over 5 ypc, Ealey’s right there and Ealey had 9 td’s.
Good news Georgia fans, this will be Murray’s LAST start in a Bulldog uniform. Lemay is on the way.

King was a 5 star RB coming out of High School that drew comparisons to Herschel Walker.
Ealey borke all of Herchel’s records in high schools, yards, and touchdowns.
Both have the talent, but the scheme doesn’t favor running the ball, they’re looking for rb’s that do things well other than run the football, mainly block for Aaron Murray.
Richt’s record when he gets a 100 yard rusher is 40-2, but Bobo doesn’t like using this strategy.

Georgia can win if everyone holds their blocks for 15 seconds on pass plays, otherwise Murray can’t manage.

Better be careful, boys. Not a lot coming out of the Tech camp on this game, but a lot of yah-yahing and confidence coming out of ours. I know we’re not as good as the media thinks, and I don’t think the yellabellies are as bad as the media knows! I know our coaches suc#, though. A scarey combination!

good? Georgia’s 5-6, and Tech is 6-5, Tech should be the favorite. Only reason Georgia is favored is odds makers thought Murray was too injured to play. Knowing Murray has only beat 1 team with a winning record, Tech is favored.

I want to take a moment and explain myself to the readers and the Georgia faithful. I have been pretty hard on CMR this year. I probably will always be hard and emotional when we don’t play well. But I can also honestly say that I would not want another coach at Georgia. As much as I criticize the mess out of everything I still know he is the man that will be the greatest coach we have ever had. And you know, we may never win a National Championship with coach Richt. But we also need his goodness in the worst way. In a very cynical world he is a true LEADER.

And BTW, congrats on a great win War Eagles! The ability of this team to come back from deep deficits against very good teams is remarkable. Also, somebody on the coaching staff obviously spoke to Fairley. He had several opportunities to make his signature cheap shots and he didn’t do it that I saw. Good job to the coaches (and maybe the SEC).

As far as Cam Newton goes. He is simply the best college football player in 2010. I hope his dad saves many lives and helps many people. And in my book. Its O.K. if his son helps him do that. I know, I know, I,m a little off compass with that statement. But hay, just take a good long look at our Gov.

thUGA (and the AJC columnist support team) always talks big. They kept it up after Auburn handed them their ass – said Newton would be suspended/ Alabama would shut him down – yadda yadda.
Hope they get beat by a 6-6 team without the opposition quarterback tomorrow at their own house, and watch ALL the bowl games from their hideouts. Not that it would shut them up.

“•Georgia leads the all-time series against Tech 60-37-5 or 60-39-5, depending on which school’s records you recognize.”
Perhaps GT shouldn’t count any of the UGA wins in the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s due to the absolutely proven in a court of law cheating that was going on in Athens back then. Keeping athletes in remedial studies until they wasted all of their eligibility and then throwing them away like trash. Jan Kemp was vilified by that sleezebag of a coach, administration, and fanbase and she was proven correct in the end. UGA’s victories ought to have an * next to them since they really didn’t participate with “student” athletes all through the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
