Murray: ‘If I had a broken leg, I’m going to play in this game’

ATHENS – Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, held out of practice last week because of a bruised sternum suffered against Auburn, practiced without problem for the second day in a row Tuesday and appears set to start against Georgia Tech.

“I haven’t had any pain in two days,” Murray said Tuesday night. “I feel great throwing the ball. . . . I think I’m ready to play Saturday.”

Earlier Tuesday, coach Mark Richt said: “I think he is going to play.”

Murray, who also suffered a bruised knee and a cut chin against Auburn, said the bruised sternum –- the most significant of the three injuries — occurred early in the game. “I played the majority of the game with it, so . . . I feel like I can play through it if it re-aggravates,” he said.

Murray said he never doubted that he would play against Tech.

“I don’t care if I had a broken leg, I’m going to play in this game,” he said.

This Kid is tough and he will only get better.
If we can land some Defensive and running game help, UGA will be back real soon.

One more! Just proves our point about how bad Murray is! Gotta love backing up our post with actually national sports writers who agree with us about how bad Murray is.

This is actually pretty funny. I’d just ignore Marcus. He’s so obsessed with Dawg envy that he’s spent his last couple of days trolling here — I guess he checks in between his World of Warcraft adventures. We’ll see how he feels after Aaron Murray lights up the bugs.

I looked in on little Marcus to see how he was doing and O My, I can’t believe what Marcus and his little friends Denny, Jerry, Rusty, Sammy and little Kenny were doing with those jock straps! I know Marcus never had much of a chance with the girls but I thought that surely some ugly girl would take a liking to the boy. Anything but this.

The Real Dawg – The funny thing is all of those articles that he is posting talk about how Great Murray is/has been. Somebody else is obviously posting them but it proves how Marcus and all of his aliases have no idea what they are talking about when they say that Murray isn’t any good. Everyone else in the nation knows that Murray is the real deal but this idiot!

I have more doubts about CMR than I do about Murray. That Murray isn’t afraid of bullies like #90 and wants to win big time. Too bad some of his receivers are busier posing for the cameras than catching the darn ball.
I’m an old time UGA fan and don’t need to pretend. About Marcus, whats his name, I bet he is on his way to the Atlanta airport to get in line for the physical pat down, over, and over, and over.
Go dawgs!

WOW!!!
1) In pads & full go on a Wednesday!
2) A QB with that kind of heart, desire, moxie & skill!
3) FINALLY a nasty po’ed OL!
Now if the steps up & stops the option…Does this years Tech team have the mentality to stay in this game? If they’re not mentally ready then this could get nasty! Which is fine with me, I’ll take a 2-0 victory but would LOVE to see us BLOW TECH OUT! Lol AGAIN! GO DAWGS! BEAT TECH!

Marcus- I have been looking for you to post an article where somebody in the national media is bashing Murray for being a terrible QB like you seem to think, yet all that has been posted is article after article about how great a QB he is. Well you had your chance but the fact is you are the only moron who believes that he is terrible! Enjoy your Thanksgiving! I am very thankful that you are only able to post your garbage on public blogs such as AJC. Nuff said!

Reggie/Marcus- Well Peyton Manning isn’t good at running the ball so does that mean he is a bad QB? You obviously never played football before! Do you really believe that a QB is suppose to be perfect every play of every game? You are an idiot! Murray is a stud. I wish we had him. And this is coming from a Tech fan.

In passing accuracy

In the first quarter.

I guess since I’m the first person to point oput that Aaron Murray is ranked LAST in the NCAA in passing accuracy in the 1st quarter, then it must not be true. Wrong

Murray is THE #1 WORST QB in all of Div 1 College Football in the 1st quarter when it comes to passing accuracy.

Just chokes.

THE #1 WORST QB IN THE COUNTRY.

#1.

On the subject of AJ. While I agree that playing college FB (or BB) would probably rank at the top of “funnest things to do”, AJ would indeed be foolish to come back for another “fun” year, since I doubt that he is a pre-med or pre-law student, or even computer science, math, chemistry, accounting, etc., major. AJ’s best chance of achieving the American dream is with a pigskin under his arm in the NFL. Sorry UGa fans, even AJ isn’t that dumb.

If every player was as inspired as Murray, AJ and a couple of others we’d be undefeated.
I don’t blame the other players. I blame Richt & Company.

Think about this Dawg Nation………..If Richt takes The Dawgs to a 7 – 4 record in regular season next year he will continue to coach The Dawgs for yet another miserable season.

This is depressing.

I would ask Fairley about Murray, but all he would be able to say is, “yeah, I late hit & got me some dirties in on that boy”, so I would rather not speak to trash.

As far as Marcus goes, I think the people “stealing” your handle make more sense than you do, so you should apppreciate them. You seriously can not believe that Gray is better than Murray. Running? Are you talking about when Gray is in for a kickoff return & either fair catches, takes a knee or runs backwards?

Murray is a baller & a damn good Dawg! He’s done great this season & will continue to be great. I was looking forward to watching Mett as QB & wasn’t sure about Murray, but he has proven himself over & over. He has taken big hits & bounced right back up. Fairley did hurt him in the AU game & not from clean hits. That’s the difference.

For those blaming this & that for the losses, they came as a whole. Each loss was different & for different reasons. Our coaching needs to improve on & off the field and so do our players.

I hope to end the regular season on a great note by beating Tech. For those of you trolls making fun of us going to a “not so glamorous bowl” after we beat Tech, who cares? It’s a bowl & gives our seniors another game. We’ve had a bad season & it’s been tough on our fans, but who hasn’t from time to time? I can say this, it has & always will be GREAT to be a Georgia Bulldog! Fair-weather fans, we don’t want or need you in the Bulldog Nation, only the tried & true!

Here’s to a great game this weekend! (and AJ & Houston deciding to stay one more year) A girl can wish!

Go Dawgs!!!

I remember the UGA fans whining and crying about that freshman QB a few years back. Matthew Stafford had the same type of start. Mark Richt was right about Stafford and I hate to say it (as a Tech fan) but he’s probably right about this kid as well. He’s a freshman people! Get real! Could any of you handle the pressure you are putting on him at his age or at any age?
I get frustrated when Tech loses and they don’t perform to “MY” expectations but these kids lay it on the line every week for the sheer love of the game. So while we (fans) beat our chest each week when our team wins while we had absolutely nothing to do with their success.

Only an absolute moron would fail to see that Aaron Murray has just had statistically the best season at QB for UGA in several years.

My guess is that Marcus is an armchair quarterback that has never strapped on a helmet in his entire life, who constantly needs to be on the contrary to those real jocks who actually do know what they are talking about. I know his type.

2) ranked #89 in passing accuracy

marcus
Tech seem to think that Murray is pretty and the fact that there own records show we pass 70% of the time on third down and on third and 10+ Murray is converting 47% of the time isn’t too bad. so again unless you can post some sources to your numbers they are just numbers…but Tech is pretty worried about him. They also seem to think he is deadly accurate on third down as well

Tech is not worried about Aaron Murray. They will run 8 in the box.

On 3rd and 10+ to go, Murray’s completion accuracy is 89th in the NCAA. And his yards (120), rank #99.

Right about the 47% accuracy, but that’s 89th best in the NCAA.

Marcus

Dalton completes 69% on 3rd and 10+.

Joe Cox was at 53% on 3rd and 10+, and 310 yards last season.

Murray’s at 47% on 3rd and 10+, for 120 yards.

Aaron Murray is going to prove himself. He is getting better and better every game and he will probably go the distance and play all four years, not bailing out for big bucks…(that’s the way college football should be). I, myself, instantly disrespect those whom have been given a full ride for a scholarship and bail for the bucks. There are too many “unknowns”, who, if given the chance, could step up and make a name for themselves and be players. Instead, everything at the high school level is based on a “star” recruiting basis…four or five…and that is based on media coverage which we don’t have where we live….we live in a rural area where so much talent is overlooked because the buck$ aren’t there to promote the athletes and the coaches are busy TEACHING and not recruiting….just sayin’…and yes, I have friends in Buckhead, Roswell, Marietta, East Cobb, etc. who truly don’t understand what it means to come from a background where one doesn’t have the fund$ to promote one’s child to excellence…and have lost not only friends, but respect, for those heartless individuals who can’t see the “other side”.

Also, “forgot your posted name”, you are right on target! I hate when these guys bail. I understand the injury factor, but seriously, we give a lot of money to the school, just as other alums do for their schools & we believe in them staying. Who knows if a game ending injury would happen in their first game in the NFL? Education should be the first & foremost. That’s why I’m praying AJ listens to his Mom & stays. I just have a feeling he will. I respect the guy for his honesty & that this is really weighing heavily on him. Not like with Stafford & Moreno who simply said, “see you later!”.

Prety easy to beat the Murray kid. Just score on him first. Go up by 7, he ain’t ever won a game when that happens. The kid doesn’t respond to adversity well, 0 for 6.

Kid talks like he’s tough.

But he don’t play like he’s tough.

Get up on him 7-0, and he gives up.

Not tough.

Never comes back and wins from behind.

No mental toughness.

0-6 in games where opponent scores first.
