ATHENS – Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, held out of practice last week because of a bruised sternum suffered against Auburn, practiced without problem for the second day in a row Tuesday and appears set to start against Georgia Tech.
“I haven’t had any pain in two days,” Murray said Tuesday night. “I feel great throwing the ball. . . . I think I’m ready to play Saturday.”
Earlier Tuesday, coach Mark Richt said: “I think he is going to play.”
Murray, who also suffered a bruised knee and a cut chin against Auburn, said the bruised sternum –- the most significant of the three injuries — occurred early in the game. “I played the majority of the game with it, so . . . I feel like I can play through it if it re-aggravates,” he said.
Murray said he never doubted that he would play against Tech.
“I don’t care if I had a broken leg, I’m going to play in this game,” he said.

Hey, i finally figured out who Marcus is.
Remember the movie the Benchwarmers?
The little midget that had been bullied as a kid and they brought him to the stadium at the end of the movie.
his name was Marcus.

This is the kind of “want to” all our players need to have. Let thosse kids who aren’r sure where they want to play go to places like Louisville. If you are not “all in”, I don’t want you at UGA. Murray is clearly “all in.”
As to fans of other teams: What is wrong with you people? I don’t go to your blog sites and mouth off. Get a life. If your sorry team does not have a blog site, live with it. Get used to it. Just keep your nose out of our business.

It is obvious to me that most of the people who comment on this page forget that Murray is a freshman. He will get better and so will the Dawgs. It is so easy to second guess coaches, players, and officials when you have never been there or just sit in your comfortable seat in front of the TV or in the stadium with instant replay

If Murray could execute as well he talks, he’d be an All-Star. Unfortunately, you get a lot more talk than excellent play. QB ain’t about saying all the right stuff, if you can’t do it when it counts, your talk is nothing but hot air.

Any QB that Georgia has would have won those 5 games. Idaho State–defense shutout? Win. Louisiana Lafayette defense holds to 7 points? Win. Vanderbilt–defense holds to 7 points? Win. Kentucky–spotted with 4 turnovers from the defense? Win. Tennessee–spotted with 3 turnovers form the defense–Win. The wins have absolutely ZERO to do with Murray and everything to do with the defense, and the lousy level of competition in those 5 games.

I agree, you just can’t get away from those rankings–89th, 86th, 74th, Murray just can’t perform under pressure.

I get a laugh out of those bloggers who think another UGA QB couldn’t have beat teams like La Laf, Vanderbilt, Id St. Only one even has a winning record, and they’re 6-5. 7 turnovers forced against Tenn/Kentucky? ANY QB in America could have won those games.

@Marcus……Can I just say that Murray is a great QB,he would have more wins if the defense didn’t suck so bad under the ne scheme,I mean we give first downs on 3rd and 18 alot.So don’t talk about one thing without looking at the whole pic.

I don’t see major changes either Altamaha. I think Richt has faith in what he does, for better or worse. Hoping for the best, but not going to have high expectations. To Dawgs everywhere, and all, have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving….

Marcus, you got to know the Georgia fans don’t like bad news. They want to think that they’re 5-6 has nothing to with Aaron Murray. They want to blame it on the defense, or on a coach, really, anyone, or anything, but Aaron Murray. They just don’t want to consider that their QB is ranked 89th in the country. Unfortunately, neither does Mark Richt. Mark Richt refuses to bench Murray, regardless of how bad Murray plays. And that’s how you get to 5-6, playing favorites, killing team morale by rewarding your QB with more starts, even though he’s ranked at the bottom in SO MANY AREAS.

I know all the experts talk about how great Murray is and what a great year he is having as a Freshmen and everyone from ESPN, CBS, AJC, CSS, even the Orlando Sentential talk about how good this kid is going to be. I know Colt McCoy said that he is one of the most impressive players that he has seen in person. But I am here to tell you that the kid is not that good! Granted he may break all these freshmen records for QB and end up having the best freshmen year at QB in UGA history. But believe me! My credentials speak for themselves. How else do you think I am able to post on the AJC without knowing what I am talking about? I have had plenty of time to scout this kid being that I am unemployed and have been since June however I do manage a football team and have for 5 years now. It is a Fantasy Football team but I am currently in 7th place in my league and I have a shot at the playoffs. So stop listening to all these so called experts and start listening to me. Trust me I know what I am talking about!

Tired of people blaming the Georgia defense for this 5-6 season.
Defense is:
29 against the pass
25 against the run
21 in total defense
They’re among the elite in the country.

Marcus – Do you find it at all odd that you are the only one who is critical of this kid? If you could post one article where somebody who has the “credentials” to actually bad mouth this kid then you may get some sort of respect on this site. Until then you are going to be viewed as a Tech troll who is jealous that our Qb throws for more yards in a couple games than yours does in a season. I will be waiting for a link that has some national known person who agrees with you. Thanks!

Nearly every expert predicted Georgia would struggle this season in the pre-season. Why? QB. Were they ALL WRONG?
Murray is ranked is completion accuracy:
#84 in the 4th quarter
#89 in the red zone
#74 on 3rd down
They nailed it.

How can anyone POSSIBLY blame the SPECIAL TEAMS for 5-6?
Walsh is ranked #16, and has hit on 86% of his tries.
Butler is ranked #15.
Boykin is one of the best returners in SEC history.
#1 in the SEC in kick-off coverage.
Don’t blame the Special Teams.

Marcus, If Gray was better he’d play. The spring game is just that – a spring game. It is a one-off event not an end-all competition between the players. There are enough hard statistics at this juncture to prove/invalidate your subjective, amateur opinions. Please feel free to do some objective homework. Richt and Bobo have a wealth of quarterback experience between them, both as coaches and players. Richt has never been overly lavish in his praise of any or his qb’s, but I don’t recall him being as clearly positive on a young qb as he is Murray.

Marcus is so full of BS my monitor is starting to stink. Marcus is a typical nerd who comes on here to troll because of Dawg envy. He’s an unemployed “fantasy football” genius — whatever, who hasn’t watched Aaron Murray at all. He ought to be worried about his own quarterbacks less than stellar play. You can quickly tease out the nerds who never took a hit in their lives and the people who actually know something about football. Only a real doofus (or a nerd troll) would make the very stupid comments that Marcus has made about Aaron Murray.

Marcus – You are correct! All the experts said in the preseason UGA would struggle because of Murray. However if you actually did any research you would find out that all those experts have said that surprisingly Murray isn’t to blame instead the poor Oline play, RB play, D, suspensions, and costly turnovers have caused these losses. If you can find one article from somebody with “credentials” that says Murray is to blame for the 5-6 record then I will apologize for doubting you.

Bart – The D has played very well at times. The issue is they have given up too many big plays that resulted in scores. It doesn’t matter if an opposing QB goes 5-21 agianst our D. If 4 of the 5 completions are for touchdowns than the D didn’t play well.

Can’t blame the Georgia wide receivers. AJ Green’s a player. Durham’s played superbly. Marlon Brown has imporved, and T King has done well when thrown to. Tight ends are averaging great, when thrown to.

I don’t see how anyone can try and pin the 5-6 season on the O-Line, I mean, after all, they’re the #12 most experienced O-Line in the country, with 155 starts.

Preston – Really? It doesn’t matter what about how many starts they have! It matters how they do in the game. Coming into the season it seemed like they would be very good! But that is not the case. BTW you are including Chris Davis in those numbers that you posted and he lost his starting job to a true freshmen about 4 or 5 games ago because he wasn’t getting the job done. Nuff said!

Wide receivers have been stellar, just like last year. King leads the team with over 20 yards a catch, Durham’s over 20 a catch, Charles is at 16 yards a catch, AJ’s at 15 yards a catch too, all these guys had a great year, just like last year with Joe Cox, they’re not the problem.
