ATHENS – Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, held out of practice last week because of a bruised sternum suffered against Auburn, practiced without problem for the second day in a row Tuesday and appears set to start against Georgia Tech.
“I haven’t had any pain in two days,” Murray said Tuesday night. “I feel great throwing the ball. . . . I think I’m ready to play Saturday.”
Earlier Tuesday, coach Mark Richt said: “I think he is going to play.”
Murray, who also suffered a bruised knee and a cut chin against Auburn, said the bruised sternum –- the most significant of the three injuries — occurred early in the game. “I played the majority of the game with it, so . . . I feel like I can play through it if it re-aggravates,” he said.
Murray said he never doubted that he would play against Tech.
“I don’t care if I had a broken leg, I’m going to play in this game,” he said.

Murray has looked ok because he has the best wide out in college football on the field. AJ will be a top 5 draft pick. Murray just isn’t that good and he is 5-6 as a starter. Hopefully Lemay will be the real deal.

Come on now, you can’t blame the Florida loss on the defense. Murray threw 3 interceptions in that game & had a disastrous fumble that rolled over 30 yards backwards. That loss was on the offense.

Murray may be tough, smart, and a nice kid, but he chokes in the 3rd down, 4th qrtr & red zone & aganst teams with winning records. He doesn’t execute well when it counts.
All SEC in 2011 for Murray huh? That’s what they said in pre-seaosn 2010. We will see.

You guys should watch Murray’s highlight video, he looked great in High School. True, it couldn’t been because his competition wasn’t good, and his teammates were great, but he does look great then.

UGA has a 90% scoring rate inside the red zone this year. Murray has thrown 13 TD and 1 int. And to think, that’s with him “choking”.

I like an opponent I can respect. Though we create these rivalry charicatures of one another (nerds vs. rednecks, etc.) we all know at the end of the day that the other side has real people on it. Aaron Murray seems to be shaping up to be one of the good ones. He’ll be a fine example for his teammates to follow, hopefully, and a respectable opponent for my Jackets to give their all against. I hope he brings his best (Washington and co. definitely will), and we’ll see who’s showing more progress at these new 3-4 schemes both teams have put in.
Please accept a friendly “To Hell With Georgia” from a dyed-in-the-wool Yellow Jacket. I hope it’s a good game between good people that just so happen to “hate” each other.

Alpharetta Dan, three of those losses were without the games best wideout. Your argument is as weak as Tech’s “paper bag” defensive line. Those dudes SUCK. As mediocre as our Oline is this year we are going to literally MOW through Tech’s undersized and weak Dline. Ben Jones will have five pancake blocks by the second quarter.

Altamaha, I believe the pot tried to call the kettle black.
Did you hear the one about the ineligible player at Alabama? The Bear decided to give him another shot at the eligibilty test. At the 50 yard line before the game, in front of a full house, he asked the question. Bubba, what is two plus two. Bubba scratches his head a minute and answers, four. The entire stadium erupts in unison, “give him another chance”….

Murray is the best QB UGA has seen in a while. I think he will be great. Def better than stafford(accuracy wise) his arm is little weaker than Stafford’s but better than DG’s, Will he pass DG, well see.

Murray is ranked is completion accuracy:
#84 in the 4th quarter
#89 in the red zone
#74 on 3rd down
If he’s the best Georgia’s seen in a while, no wonder Georgia has had 2 seasons outside the top 25. I’d say he’s the worst QB to ever play at Georgia. Certainly, Murray’s record is the worst under Richt in over 24 seasons.
