The University of Georgia this morning put on sale several hundred tickets to the Nov. 27 Georgia-Georgia Tech football game in Sanford Stadium — and by this afternoon they were all gone.
The tickets sold today had originally been put aside for television partners and non-football recruiting purposes.
The Bulldogs, who are off this week, will enter the Tech game with a 5-6 record, while the Yellow Jackets, who play Duke on Saturday, will bring a 6-5 or 5-6 record to Athens.
The game will be Georgia’s 63rd consecutive sellout, a streak that covers 10 seasons.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 27. The game will be televised by ESPN.

DawgNation,
I’m an ex-con who lives in his mother’s trailer.
Mama is a prostitute.
I sold my baby sister to a Mexican.
I own a half-bulldog/half-wiener dog named “Uga VIII’s other little white-trash cousin.”
We’re buying a wide-screen TV with public assistance money.
I’ve basically been a loser since I popped out of Mama’s private parts.
Yet, I am a Dawg fan and feeling of redemption comes with that.
As I peruse these blogs and see the mindless drivel that is offered, I realize that when compared to fellow Dawg fans, I am a true intellectual.
Mutt, leg-humper, butt-sniffer, etc… Call me what you may.
I forgot where I was going with all of this because, yet again, I am incredibly drunk and I suddenly feel the urge to go outside and pee on a fire hydrant.
Anybody want a beer?
Go Dawgs!

DawgNation,
Man, the room is spinning.
I just threw-up on Mama’s keyboard.
I really need some sex but my girlfriend is out with her other boyfriend — he’s got more drugs tonight.
At first, I thought she was a Gator fan. Then I thought she was a War Eagle. Finally, I realized she just didn’t like my team. I don’t think she like me most of the time.
To all of you ‘cute young things’ out there, I’m available. Come on down to the trailer and meet Mama.
And remember…
Go Dawgs!
Sic ‘em!
Woof! Woof! Woof!

Both teams have stunk up the football world this year. Not too much for either team to brag about. Maybe next year

FB: perhaps worse than my worst experience at a college game ever….which, by the way, was Athens in 2002.
HL:Could that have something to do with your team imploding and getting beat 51-7 ???
Uhhh…no it had nothing to do withe score. We had the same score in a loss in Blacksburg a year or two later…my experience there was nothing in any way like it was in Athens that day. I watched a UGA fan, unprovoked, stand over the ramp and dump a coke on a Tech fan below. People lined up along the ramp coming from the upper deck using some of the foulest language I have EVER heard at a ballgame, all directed at Tech fans and “kindly” inviting us to leave your stadium. It was like waling a gauntlet. My uncle had brought his wife’s niece who as a UGA fan. She wanted to go to a souvenir counter in the lower level to buy something but he would not let her go because he was at his wits end with your fans. I vowed that day to NEVER go back to Sanford again. I finally relented two years ago when I had been to every other game and I wanted the “perfect attendance.” I will be fair…that day in 2002 was far, far worse than my other times in Athens, but that day in 2002 was so horrible that I wonder if it will ever be topped (or should i say bottomed) for horrendous fan behavior.

DIT, you are simply wrong to suggest that my critique of the experience in Athens is just bias. I loathe UGA. I admit it. But I do try to be objective as I possibly can. It is hard and at times I fail, but just a few weeks a Tech fan friend told me he “hated it when you defend UGA.” Well, I was being objective in what we talking about. Look at my response to HL above. I freely note that 2002 was an aberration and my other experiences in Athens, win or lose have not been that bad. But that day was NOT just one or two people. It may not have been a majority but it sure was not just one or two. It was so bad that it alone stands out as unlike anything I have ever experienced at a sporting event. It was behind the normal “rivalry intimediation” and into a level of intimidation that surpassed what you expect in an unfriendly sporting arena environment. All Tech fans are not perfect. I said that sometimes we come into that game with a chip on our shoulder. I have seen Tech fans behave in ways that day that I NEVER see on other games. Are they wrong for that? Absolutely, but the fans that standout behaving like that don’t total up to the proportion I saw that day in Athens in 2002. Yeah, I am biased, but yeah that is reality too.

@Headley Lamar:
“Isnt that sweet. Im not sure you were in Auburn. I have been to many Auburn games and let me tell you you dont want to wear another teams colors and be anywhere near frat row. I have seen more liquor bottles thrown at innocent fans there than anywhere and ive been all over the SEC.”
And I ask again. Why is it that these reports of terrible fan behavior that do not seem to mesh with anything I have either heard or experienced myself virtually always come from UGA fans? I have heard y’all talk about how bad Clemson is. They are not bad in any way. Most Tech people would characterize Tech-Clemson as a “friendly rivalry.” Nope, at some point you have to start going..”Hmmm…maybe it is us…what about us causes people to act in ways when we are around unlike they do with anyone else?”

Tech not selling its tickets is a load of crap.. I am a Tech season ticket holder and couldnt get a ticket because our allotment was sold out so soon. But I guess UGA fans cant read the damn article and see the reason why the tickets are being sold soo late.

I find it humorous how the insults that UGA hurls at Tech do far more to reflect poorly on them than us. Consider:
1. NERDS! – So do you have a problem with academic success? Do UGA students strive for all Cs? Of course, your president did say that he wants your new engineering (sic) program to be there for people who could not get accepted to Tech. Maybe y’all really don’t embrace academic success.
2. Flag boy – Are you telling me that you are really that sexist? I am not liberal and I don’t look for sexism under every rock like some feminist, but really…do you know how ignorant such a comment makes you look?
3. You stadium is empty! – Yeah, we are an elite engineering school. We attract a lot of students for whom sports is uninteresting. I would rather sell out, but if we are attacting that caliber of student, do you really think I am upset about that simply because we have some empty seats? Is selling out football game the only thing that matters to the University of Georgia? I know…for some of you that did not go to school there, maybe you don’t care about anything other than the football team. I hope our non-alum fans have more respect for us as an institution than you do for the school you support. And generally, I think they do.

Whats with all the UGAG fans on here whining and complaining about GT? I thought you guys didn’t care!? For the record, it’s not the TEAM most of us “Techies” can’t stand…it’s the obnoxious FANS that have no couthe or class about them that is unbearable. You are tacky and the butt of more than TECH jokes all over the South with every other football team. Save your rants and raves, we don’t care. If we win on Saturday, great, a good cap off to a crappy season, if we lose, we can still go on with life. UGAG fans lose, and they have to remind themselves how to breathe the next day, because it’s the end of the world. Move on, or better yet, move away, your hurting the resale value on my house with your tacky red and black crap all over your lawn!

Having been in Personnel for a Fortyne 500 Company for many years I saw many aplicants for job openings. I always gave short shrift to any THUGA applicant as the degree wasn’t worth the paper it was printed on. It carried about the weight of having attended a VBS. From many past mistakes I knew that the applicants from THUGA were just not up to the task of complex issues of the business world. The dissension they would bring with their red neck mentality was just not worth the efort to bring them up to speed with intense OJT. Unfortunately, I had to reject my own son who had “matriculated” through Athens. He is now 35 and a barback in the cesspool of New Orleans and damn lucky to have the job. There is no doubt that THUGA failed my son. Where is Jan Kemp when you need her. Go Jackets–stomp their asses!!

I went to the GT-Miami game last week and sat behind the most obnoxious Tech fans I’ve ever met. There were many Tech alumni sitting near us with their children and these guys were dropping the F bomb after every play, yelling and cursing about everything. Several people asked them to calm down and watch their language but it didn’t matter. Finally the Tech fans sitting around these obnoxious jerks just started to leave. My point is, there are obnoxious fans at every game, no matter where.

Dawg Nation travels to Colorado this year with 15-18K fans, TECH travels to bowl game last year with maybe 4K fans. We have sold out home games for the past 10 years, hey Tech how about setting a goal and just selling out 2 consecutive games? Or how bout maybe you send 10K fans to a bowl game, maybe support your team?
Stop crying about Athens and Dawg fans…We love our town, we love our campus, we love our football team so therefore we SUPPORT! Go Dawgs!

Well said Loyal Dawg.
I went to the GT game last Saturday vs Miami. The place was maybe 3/4 full (maybe) and they honored the 90 NC team at halftime and nobody cared because they were all in the bathroom (or not even at the game.) It was embarrassing for Tech. Bobby Ross gave a rousing half time speech to get everybody fired up but it obviously didn’t work. Tech never scored again.
