Georgia-Georgia Tech game now sold out

(Updated 3:30 p.m.)

The University of Georgia this morning put on sale several hundred tickets to the Nov. 27 Georgia-Georgia Tech football game in Sanford Stadium — and by this afternoon they were all gone.

The tickets sold today had originally been put aside for television partners and non-football recruiting purposes.

The Bulldogs, who are off this week, will enter the Tech game with a 5-6 record, while the Yellow Jackets, who play Duke on Saturday, will bring a 6-5 or 5-6 record to Athens.

The game will be Georgia’s 63rd consecutive sellout, a streak that covers 10 seasons.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 27. The game will be televised by ESPN.

Mom actually went to the Auburn game and the VT game a few years back. She was so happy she did because the Auburn fans were GREAT. The VT fans were good (as are the Clemson Fans for the most part) but we met VT fans mom and dad worked with at Ga Power years ago. That made it special. We went to their house and watched the UGA v Vols game that night talked and had a spread with a few VT couples and their friends.

perhaps worse than my worst experience at a college game ever….which, by the way, was Athens in 2002.

Could that have something to do with your team imploding and getting beat 51-7 ???

This is a UGA/GT blog both teams are bad mouthing each other. You hate UGA so you point us out more. I get it! I shared my experience going to a tech game. I’m sorry you think that you are perfect. I pointed out earlier that every team has it’s share of village idiots. tech is no exception. I have been to numerous stadiums throughout the US and my worst ecperience was at TECH!. I don’t hold that against the entire tech family. Just those drunk 10 to 15 that made the experience awful. Then we won and my boy and I were happy.
I’m sure you don’t act that way at a tech game and I know that I don’t throw stuff and cuss at a visiting team. Please don’t sit there high and mighty saying that UGA is the worst you can ask anybody. Yes, tech will think UGA is the worst it’s called a rivalry!

Isnt that sweet. Im not sure you were in Auburn. I have been to many Auburn games and let me tell you you dont want to wear another teams colors and be anywhere near frat row. I have seen more liquor bottles thrown at innocent fans there than anywhere and ive been all over the SEC.

I actually (no hatred meant by this) have had a real question for a long time. Maybe a history buff could answer it for me:

Why does UGA – a proud Southern university – use the Battle Hymn of the Republic as its fight song? One would think that since our Southern forefathers were slaughtered by the thousands to that tune everyone down here would be averse to it. But UGA uses it for school spirit played by “the Redcoats” – itself another name you’d expect people to not want to identify themselves with. I’d love to know how that fight song started getting used down South. Auburn does it too, right?

Georgia Tech has the tune of Dixie hidden in the song “Up With the White and Gold.” You can hear it in a trumpet flourish coinciding with the words “…down on the old farm…”

First off, I could care less about either School because I didn’t attend either, was just a frequent visitor… (even though I respected Georgia Tech’s overall hospitality on the visits), I will however provide my observations from several visits to both schools.

1) Georgia Tech is actually a nicer campus than Georgia, despite being located in the BIG city….(Maybe this explains the crime rate on and around the campus)

2) I work at the CDC with a Georgia Bulldog grad and he is EXACTLY what some of the Dawg nation claims Tech Grads are… he is full of himself and a fake wanna be rich boy..

3) Of course Sanford Stadium is bigger because UGA’s student population is a whole lot bigger…DUH!!! Not to mention that the MAJORITY of students at UGA are actually from GEORGIA!!! Makes a big difference, especially because of the fact that alumni make up a portion of the stadium…

4) It’s true that a enormous part of the Atlanta Population goes out to Athens to see the Georgia Bulldogs play, but I guarantee you that it is only a CERTAIN portion for the most part of the metro area…ex: Snellville, Lawrenceville, etc…

Once again I seem more bias toward Tech but frankly I’m not a huge fan of college football but maybe a point of view needs to be heard from a neutral party.

WOW! = Tech fan in disguise. I love how you lump all UGA fans with one person. There are good Dawg fans and good Tech fans. I went to UGA. My dad went to Tech. I have some to accept the fact in any group. There are jerks and there are nice folks. Let me tell you this WOW. The UGA friends I have ALL live in Marietta. UGA fans are ALL over Georgia. Not just Gwinnett. If you really work for the CDC. We are in trouble.

The saddest part of Tech is that they NEVER sell out their 55,000 seat stadium. If it’s full, it’s from the opposing team’s fans. THAT is called fair weather. UGA on the other hand has sold out every home game for ten seasons. Poor poor Tech nerds.
