The University of Georgia this morning put on sale several hundred tickets to the Nov. 27 Georgia-Georgia Tech football game in Sanford Stadium — and by this afternoon they were all gone.
The tickets sold today had originally been put aside for television partners and non-football recruiting purposes.
The Bulldogs, who are off this week, will enter the Tech game with a 5-6 record, while the Yellow Jackets, who play Duke on Saturday, will bring a 6-5 or 5-6 record to Athens.
The game will be Georgia’s 63rd consecutive sellout, a streak that covers 10 seasons.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 27. The game will be televised by ESPN.

Tech must have more dedicated fans than we do because all 12 of them have been on this blog today. And never forget——-only TECH has had a player hit a GIRL in the fact and break her nose. Our guys just don’t show up to pay minor traffic fines. So don’t tell us anything about class.

AJ will have a good game to get elevated in the draft. You know that is what UGA does. It gets early drafts for the monopoly called the NFL.

Man I hope your post is a joke…..please don’t tell me that is your real spelling. Come on people, please tell me that is a Tech fan posing as a ugay fan to create a few laughs.
And if not, then good God son……No wonder everyone in the south makes fun of you idiots. Respectable UGA fans – you need to get rid of fans like that and maybe you won’t be such an embarrassment to our state.

I wish all the Tech fans would also realize that every school has classless and trashy fans.
I am a female student who was at Tech last year when Georgia beat Tech. After the game, I was walking back with my Tech friends, and a drunk man from Tech flat out hit me and called me a stupid Georgia C*nt.
That same game, we had a Tech fan throw a beer at one of the girls in our group, and with both instances, neither of them were provoked at all.
Stop thinking your school is innocent. Every school has their sour grapes.

UGA is a joke and is slowly turning into a bottom feeder of the SEC. 5 losses? Weren’t you pre-season #1 a couple of years ago? You’ll never be considered an elite SEC team again. Have fun riding the coat tails of AL, AU, UF, LSU for the next decade. Hell, SC is going to be fighting the gators for the SEC East title for years to come, not UGA.
Hey, lets B***H about Auburn being dirty and classless. Give me a F’ing break. Honestly, who cares? You UGA fans act like your team is innocent when really all of your players are getting arrested. F’ing hypocrits.

And hasn’t tech lost 3 straight or something like that. I mean you won the ACC last year and didn’t want to talk about getting run over by the dawgs in your own house. Now we’re both fighting for bowl eligibility and you still talk like you’re in the ACC championship game. WTF?

To UGA student, sorry about that, but the reality is that EVERYONE that has ever been to Athens hates Georgia fans, whereas, Georgia fans are the only ones to call us classless. Georgia fans take that stupid chant to heart, “nothin finer in the land….” Y’all are the worst, period. Everyone in the southeast agrees.

My goodness! Don’t you people even READ the article? “The tickets sold today had originally been put aside for television partners and non-football recruiting purposes.” They didn’t come from Tech and they aren’t a result of less than a “normal” sellout. They are extra tickets allocated for special purposes that did not get picked up.
With that said, neither team has lived up to expectations this year. We will be lucky if both teams make a bowl. Not a season to be proud of on either side.

To the tech fans that think they are such perfects guests during a home game. You have no room to talk about UGA fans being obnoxious! This is worth a re-post from earlier!
____________________________
I think it’s so funny that techies are saying that UGA people have the foul mounths and don’t know how to behave at a game. I was with my 8 year old son last year at the game. Sitting in a nuetral area and you nerds did nothing, but cuse and throw things at my son and myself all game long. Before you say we probably deserved it, I’m very reserve and don’t go to games, yes even in Athens, and bad mouth the fans of the opposing teams. My son’s 1st game away from Athens. Nice example of a fan base. There were a couple of exceptions of tech fans that apologized, but 95% were idiots!

This is great reading, fans of two second tier programs attempting to diminish the other. UGA should win the game. If not, UGA is a third tier program (if such a thing exists). One would have to be delusional to not see that UGA has more talent, but has done little with it. UGA should also win its bowl game against another second tier team. That will give you two wins in a row and be the catalyst for the annual “national championship” talk beginning next year. That’s so much fun to watch (speaking of delusional) each year. Thirty years is a long time! In 2020, 40 years will be a long time….and so on. It really is fun.
Good luck to both teams. I hope the game is close and also fun to watch.

That’s funny Tech Fan, because my mother went to Bama and thinks Tennessee fans are the worst, and so do most of her friends and family members, and my dad went to Florida and had great experiences in Athens when he has visited.
Just because you have an opinion and the ones around you have that opinion doesn’t mean it holds true for all fans all over. Seriously, I can’t count the number of people I know that come to Athens and love Athens and attend other SEC schools. At the end of the day, it isn’t a matter of what school each person represents, but how educated that person is.
Most people say Tech is full of dorks and no women, but some of my best friends are very attractive women at GT, and not to mention, I date a very attactive and successful Tech graduate, and many of his friends hold true to those qualities as well. I just will continue to laugh at the stereotypes at every school, but laugh even harder at those that hold so tightly to the name calling and silly behavior.
At the end of the day, I doubt you would ever ignore my friendly personality or success if you had no idea what school I attend and love.
Besides, most of the obnoxious fans you meet from most games/schools anyways never even attended the school they support. For anyone to flat out call any fan any name or label is just a reflection of your own character, not theirs.

Still@theBAR: why would anyone go to a game to sit beside Yech fans wearing StarTrek and Darth Vader uniforms? To beam them back to their always empty stadium.
Why would anyone take a nano-breeding program at Yech? To create a beautiful woman for companionship.
When was the last time a segment of girls gone wild was filmed on the Yech campus? Scarlett O’Hara and Miss Pittypat were drunk on sherry the night Rhett got thrown in jail and was playing poker with Yankees. Melanie and Ashley were singing rap after getting blasted on Rebel Yell!
Who cares?

The 2 couples that sat in front of us for years decided to UPGRADE and move to the lower level in the Gold Plastic Stadium Seats. They changed after 2 games and had to sit higher in the upper deck east. The Young Tech Alum wanted to stand the whole game, be drunk, and use bad language. Yes Tech has its share of bad fans, but I don’t know many people that visit UGA and have a goodtime with UGA fans. The last time I visited UGA was in 98. I am too old to put up with UGA fans anymore when I pay good money to go to games.

Selling out stadiums is more important than wins…ok got it!! Lets see the crime at GT is committed by those that do not attend school (probably UGA grads) and the crime in Athens is committed by the football team…got it!! Auburn is the dirtiest team ever while no mention of the chain gang rushing the field to fight, illegal chop blocks or piling on…got it!! UGA cant beat Tech with their “Dream Team” and the news of Nesbitts injury has lit Athens ablaze reminiscent of Sherman ( I would be happy if I were yall as well being that running QB’s, delayed dives down the middle and option pitches demolished yall all season)…got it!! The bottom line is that with the recruiting power, money, sold out stadiums, “heritage” of UGA football…to look at this season as anything other than a waste of talent and a disappointment would prove that there really aren’t to many brain cells still living in the cesspool of the south!! GO JACKETS!!

Last time though Tech was in Sanford Stadium, the football players were ripping up the hedges, so don’t even go there. For quite sometime, she has been putting aside money from her government checks.
We’re getting a 73″ HDTV for the trailer! Yes, folks, I get to watch our greatest moments on the big screen.
Also, there might be enough money left over for me to get my teeth fixed and touch-up my UGA tattoo that I got in prison. I’m so excited!

I know it was in retaliation. And Maybe just Maybe Fairley hit the crap out of Murray for retaliation too. I am just saying. I do think 1 or 2 of his hits were over the line, but the SEC should also suspend UGA players that rushed the field in the fight. That is an SEC rule too.

Anyone making the terrorist comments about Georgia Tech should be publicly shamed. There was one kid like ten years ago that got arrested for taking video of a building. Was it Tech that trained him? No, Tech expelled him. In a time of war you should be ashamed to take your “hatred” of your rival (a fellow American university) far enough to identify them with your actual wartime enemy then you are foolish, ignorant, less-than-patriotic, and possibly racist (if you’re making the comment because of Tech’s noted diversity of student body).
Clean, Old Fashioned Hate is no longer clean or old-fashioned if you’re going to accuse a team of being an enemy of the United States. Have some honor. Call us nerds, call us geeks, call us womanless. We can take it. That’s all within the bounds. But we as a country are at war. Don’t cross that line.

@DIT, it amazes me that the only time I hear anything about our “poor fan behavior” is from UGA fans. I also hear y’all say similar comment about Auburn and Clemson. We play Clemson every year and they are very classy fans. When we played at Auburn a few years, they were hands down the friendliest hosts, even with a loss, I have ever seen. Maybe some of us come in with a chip on our shoulder because of the all the garbage we see and take from your fans 365 days a year – and that is not good – but given all the comments of yours that don’t seem to apply outside of yourselves as well as numerous anecdotes of how bad your fanbase is from schools that are not even your rivals, that suggests pretty strongly it is more y’all than Tech imaginations running biased. I am dreading next week, not because I don’t like our chances with a talented but raw backup QB, but because, win or lose, I will be stunned if your fans don’t make it an absolutely miserable experience, perhaps worse than my worst experience at a college game ever….which, by the way, was Athens in 2002.

You can say whatever you want but Fairly started most of that crap. UGA lineman were doing what football players have done for years. Protect their QB. Thats a far cry from Mr. Fairly who was intentionally trying to hurt Murray the entire game.

I am not saying that a Georgia fan didn’t set Toomer’s on fire, because it is likely, but I still see no evidence of any arrest.
Finance, I can say the same about Tech. Every SEC matchup is ugly, and ask any SEC team or fan that.
My last time at Tech for the game was my last after going home with a bruise from a Tech fan that hit me for no reason, and having been called some of the most deplorable words I have ever heard any person call a young lady.
I can’t post anything UGA on my facebook without my 200 something Tech friends posting something so rude. Most of them I have just ignored and stopped communicating with because of stupid comments. It seriously goes both ways and there really are more good fans than bad; the day you realize that, you will be a much happier fan.
