Georgia-Georgia Tech game now sold out

(Updated 3:30 p.m.)

The University of Georgia this morning put on sale several hundred tickets to the Nov. 27 Georgia-Georgia Tech football game in Sanford Stadium — and by this afternoon they were all gone.

The tickets sold today had originally been put aside for television partners and non-football recruiting purposes.

The Bulldogs, who are off this week, will enter the Tech game with a 5-6 record, while the Yellow Jackets, who play Duke on Saturday, will bring a 6-5 or 5-6 record to Athens.

The game will be Georgia’s 63rd consecutive sellout, a streak that covers 10 seasons.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 27. The game will be televised by ESPN.

Bottom line is I dont see techs defense stopping UGA offense at all.

I can see UGA’s defense getting off the field a few times.

UGA wins 41 – 28

The simple facts are these: the tickets for sale are returned from the allotment appropriated by Tech that did not sell to Tech fans. Now they are put on sale to the public. I’m a Dawg fan who hasn’t missed a game in 31 years and I graduated from UGA with 2 degrees. Dawg fans are pretty rude and embarrassing but I’ve NEVER been physically assaulted or seen it happen to visiting fans like I have TWICE at Tech’s stadium and by so-called men! Hit in the back twice because they were mad about losing and I was the closest Dawg fan. There is no class among Tech fans. Win or lose character is not related to your college affiliation, it is a direct reflection of what and who you truly are.

Not inerested! Tech is in trouble with an arrogant coach that will not make adjustments, stubborn, and thinks he knows it all. Georgia will crush Tech, but Johnson does not care ’cause he states the Georgia game does not define Tech’s season. He just does not get it! He cannot recruit due tot the gimic offense. He will loose all of Gailey’s recruits after this year.(Gailey could recruit, just sucked as a coach. See his NFL teams record now!) Johnson will be fired, but it will take 3 to 4 years. I gave up season tickets this year and no more contributions to the athletic departmet. Tired of Tech accepting poor performance in all sports. Basketball with Hewitt sucks! Football sucks, just look at our wins, what a resume this year! Girls sports the best at Tech, tells you the true story!

It’s because Tech fans are afraid to come out of their dorms, living in that high crime district…so Tech turned their tickets back in. Maybe if we offered them a hot dog, a fanny pack and a pocket protector, they would have come, but that is a long bicycle trek…and speaking of trek, I’m sure there is a Star trek marathon on TV that they can’t miss…..oh well!

Are you Tech fans getting ready for that wonderful ACC BB schedule? Techies will be praising the hoops program now that football team sucks. Just a reminder, you lost to Kennasaw State this week. ACC hoops not much better than football.

I know somebody at Vanderbilt who says Murray’s dad asked for $100,000 for Murray to go there.

According to all the UGA fans, that’s enough evidence for UGA to pull Murray out of the Tech game. No facts are needed – at least according to UGA fans.

C’mon UGA – pull him out of the game or you’re hypocrites!!!

Yjackets2001….if you truly are who you say you are…good riddance. Go cheer for someone else and don’t come back just because we get back in the top 25.

As to recruiting, I’d hate to be a running back on a team that will lead the nation in rushing every year and throws the ball about 5% of the time.

At some point, we have to realize that GT is recruiting in the South against SEC schools and we will not be able to get 5-star recruits like the UGAs, AU, Alabama, TN, and Florida and we couldn’t out bid the SEC teams with more cash if we wanted to. The great thing about PJs offense is that we don’t need 5 star recruits. We need an athletic QB who can take some hits, but who doesn’t have aspirations of being Peyton Manning in the NFL. We need a few decent running backs who want to get the ball often and one WR that is willing to block and be able to go up and get a ball every once in a while in single coverage.

Murphy, I’m glad someone finally admitted that Reggie Ball was an inside job. I knew it all along!

Hey, I am NOT a fair weather fan, but I am quite realistic. The UGA team stinks — worst I remember for a long time. At least they try, however. My Tech team has little talent and little heart. UGA has 25% more talent on both sides of the ball and twice the heart. The worst thing is that we fired our defensive coordinator because our defense was abysmal. We hire Groh (supposed to be a big defensive guru) for big money and we actually get worse! How is that possible?

I expect an easy win for UGA. I hope not, but I sure would not bet on Tech.

I’m pretty sure the tickets are the the ones returned by Tech because they couldn’t sell there allottment they were given. UGA has long ago sold all of it’s tickets they allocate for season ticket holders.

You Tech fans are incredibly STUPID for nerds…
Let me educate you on how college football works:
Each school reserves a certain amount of tickets for the opposing team’s fans to purchase. If they don’t sell them all, they are returned to the home team and offered to those fans.

This means Tech fans didn’t want the tickets. Not the other way around.

I just got an email from the GT AA saying they have a “limited number” of tickets from the GT student allotment for sale to GT Season Ticket holders.

I know that all the tickets previously made available to GT Season Ticket Holders were sold out.

Sounds like the GT students don’t want to go to Athens.

GT Alums will buy up these remaining tickets and there will be more GT folks at the game to hear the pocket protector, nerd, drunk cuss fits, etc comments from the “civilized” UGA fans.

TechRon, I agree with you on our defense. It sucks and our team seems to think that being last year’s ACC champs actually means something this year. On paper, UGA should have an “easy win” most years, but they are good at underachieving.

I think the solution is for PJ to come up with a triple option defense.

Hotdawgette, give me a break. Tech fans known for assaulting other teams fans???? BS.

What you inbreds fail to realize is just how hated you are by fans of every football program in the south. You’re, rude, arrogant, disrespectful, obnoxious, & totally devoid of manners. THIS WHY PEOPLE REFER TO YOU AS “REDNECKS, INBREDS, FELONS, ETC.” There is only ONE place in my travels that I have been rudely treated for wearing a shirt with a small Tech logo on it: Athens. Never in Miami, Clemson, Auburn, Tuscaloossa, or Tallahssee. Would I go to the game given free tickets? No way. I’d never subject myself to being surrounded by some of the worst human beings (and I say that loosely) in the state of Georgia.

DawgNation,

I hope I make it to the game. I have enough money. I sold my baby sister to a Mexican in the ‘traffic’ industry.

My only concern is the late start. I fear that I will either be passed out in Mama’s trailer or in jail.

I need to fight through my alcoholism and remember that my Dawgs need ME howling in the stands.

I hope we can man-up for the game. I’m really tired of other teams mounting us like b!#ches.

Tech fans….I hate to say it….but we don’t have much room to talk on this one. Although the dawgs are 5-6, they are playing good football and with Murray on the field we are screwed. As much as I hate the dawgs, it would be ignorant to talk trash before this game. It is going to be another sad ending for Tech. Let’s just hope we beat Duke this weekend so we will be bowl eligible.

I’ve never understood how anyone – even an alumnus – could support and take pride in UGA’s football team. When you look at their history for the past forty years, how can anyone ignore Jan Kemp and the “remedial studies” scam, the Jim Harrick fiasco, the DUIs in the athletic office, the DUIs and other arrests of players, the #1 party school tag (i.e., the most drunk students), the suspensions and outright dismissals, the Fulmer Cup, and on and on?

As disgraceful and humiliating as it is, I don’t see many alums and fans demanding an end to this sordid activity. It sets UGA apart as the kind of school most people abhor, and it’s become an embarrassment to the whole state of Georgia.

Will it never end? Apparently not while Mark Richt is at UGA. Richt is perhaps the biggest hypocrite in the United States. But even with all the cheating and lawlessness that he ignores, he still can’t win the SEC.

So you’re paying him to be BCS champions, but he can’t even win his SEC division. So why do you pay him millions of dollars a year?

Just asking.

Last 50 years, Ga. Tech wins over Georgia by decade:

2000s – 2

@funny….

Thanks for trying to bring light into the darkness. The bottom line is our defense has not stopped anyone all year. Murray will have 6 to 8 seconds to throw the ball and even though we do have a pretty solid secondary, they won’t be able to keep Green covered for that long. And I haven’t even started talking about our run defense…….O man this is gonna suck.

At least I won’t be all pumped up for a win like I was last year and be depressed the entire offseason! I like CPJ, but if he can’t get better talent on the field then he needs to go.The only success he has had has been with Gailey’s recruits. We will see…..

The article says “The tickets sold today had originally been put aside for television partners and non-football recruiting purposes.” I interpret this to mean they are not tickets returned by Tech.

Reading the comments proves that both sides have their share of classless fans as well as good fans. I guess if both teams were playing better, maybe the discussion would focus on the actual game.

I just hope for good game on national TV to redeem both programs and hopefully and GT win. Go Jackets.
