The University of Georgia this morning put on sale several hundred tickets to the Nov. 27 Georgia-Georgia Tech football game in Sanford Stadium — and by this afternoon they were all gone.
The tickets sold today had originally been put aside for television partners and non-football recruiting purposes.
The Bulldogs, who are off this week, will enter the Tech game with a 5-6 record, while the Yellow Jackets, who play Duke on Saturday, will bring a 6-5 or 5-6 record to Athens.
The game will be Georgia’s 63rd consecutive sellout, a streak that covers 10 seasons.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 27. The game will be televised by ESPN.

Typical “normal” tech kid!

Tech has a 55,000 seat stadium….it don’t compart to 92,746 screaming, rabid Dawgs, or 92,400 ragin’ Cajun LSU fans, or 85,000 Garnet and Black Carolina Fans…
I’m sure playing in front of a sold out 31,500 BB&T Field (Wake Forest) or 33, 941 Wallace Wade Stadium just scares the crap out of you, huh?

Still a tard @ the bar,
Why do you obsess so much over UGA?
Couldn’t get in?
FWIW, I don’t drink alcohol. Haven’t since 1979. You have a handle on a UGA blog that says still@thebar and you make fun of UGA fans and call all of us drunks?
Do you think before you type? Ever? Maybe just once?
I’ve been to games at Sanford and at Tech and have never encountered anything bad. Just lots of stuff to laugh at mostly. You pretty much get what you deserve. My guess is you picked a fight at a UGA game and got your head bashed in. Now everybody from UGA is a drunk according to you.
What a waste of my time.

Again, Tech’s AA site says they sold out their tickets and UGAs site says they have tickets available. GT sold all the nosebleed seats you gave us.
I don’t care how many games we sell out. I do my part and have tickets for the game next weekend in Athens too. Is a football program about selling tickets or winning championships? As I said earlier, we’ve won more than you and more recently than you. I also think we have a better chance (and coach) to win the next championship out of the state of GA, but admit that we are not even close this year.
On second thought, I guess selling tickets is about all you have to hang your hat on (and saying you play in the SEC). Your coaches are soft, your players constantly get arrested, you go to Jacksonville every year to get drunk and loose, and you ride on the coattails of the SEC for recruiting (while turning 5-star recruits into o.k. players who are not a lock to beat a high-school offense every year).

Wreck,
We all know that 1/2 championships don’t count. While I was at the Colorado game, they celebrated winning the NC in 1990, I seem to recall someother team saying they won one that year too….
There is no chance a decent recruit who wants to come play for a coach that won’t take the blame for losing a game and instead blames it on the players and fans.

The seats were sold. The person holding the ticket just didn’t show up. They have a new student ticket policy where you have to show your student ID so students that can’t attend a game can’t just give their ticket away.

I for one will be trying my best on Saturday to uphold the comments from Tech fans on here about obnoxious Georgia fans…that will be me in your face Saturday if you GT “fans” bother to show up.
Tech is an embarassment to my stadium when they have to audacity to walk out on my field.
Tech is an embarassment to my state simply by being in it.
Tech is an embarassment to my life for the simple fact I have to spend 4 hours near so many of you pee yellow wearing, budwieser song bouncing, old jaloppy driving, varsity tailgaiting, Korean student having nerds.
By they way… UGA is gonna drop 40+ on you and make it 9 out of 10. Tell your fatboy coach to feed your boys some pudding at halftime and keep it under half-a-hundred.

As a UGA man, I am hoping that UGA wins BIG and then gets shut out from a bowl. That really gets the attention of the executive BOD, as they expect bowls every year. A Papa Johns Bowl would be the very bottom. UGA is there. 09 was nearly as bad.
RIcht is really worse off right now than when he took over from Jim Donnan ……….why? Richt inherited Jim’s recruits like Pollack and David Green and Thomas Davis and Sean Jones and his players are not very good. Last year’s 09 recruiting class was not good and this coming class will be about as bad. Kids like Brandon Smith or Carlton Thomas or Wooten or tons more have not done anything for UGA. Richt has failed UGA in his recruiting mission. He took the UGA money and went to sleep.
UGA will win this game around 45-24 and it should be very ugly for GT. The crowd will be rough on the bees and the pre game taunting will be just awful and it should be. We recall how in the second half in 2008 UGA laid down with #09 reshad jones and evans missing tackle after arm tackle. We blew a 16 point halftime lead by laying down. Fisrt half we blew them out. Samuels FUMBLED the k.o. in the second qtr. They scored two plays later and there it went ……………we laid down.
I want Richt after the game to announce his resignation. He is done and the UGA football program is at the bottom. This is why we pay him $3 million??
If he does not quit ………… then we post pone it till same time next year and then, maybe we see TWO coaches resign of get fired ………….CPJ AND CMR.
Go Dogs.

Did you see our offense 2 years ago at UGA? I bet your sarcasm was lost after that game.
You beat us by 6 points last year too (not a blowout – in case you didn’t pick up on it).
What is scary is how bad our defense was last year and is again this year. I’d say we have a high school defense and a great offense.

Ahhh, our first Alabama or Auburn fan joined in the discussion. They are the only fans that would make a comment about everyone else’s fans needing a “decent” team to root for.
Alabama has been rescued from obscurity by Saban after years of terribleness and Auburn won the bidding war for a chance at a NC. (too bad you didn’t bid higher on a defensive version of Cam Newton, you could use one)

Murphy, you are right. You have won more games in the last 8 years than Tech has, but remember that we must give 4 of those wins to Reggie Ball, who I believe was a covert Dawg playing for Tech. God he was terrible. Your original comment was about our “high school” offense, thus I don’t see where the last 8 years apply. The facts are that you are 1-1 versus the “high school” offense. We’ll see what happens in about 10 days.
Your typo is interesting, but I think your team drinks “40’s” not “pints”.

To all you Tech fans that are suggesting it’s UGA that didn’t buy up all of their tickets for the game, usually when there are extra tix it’s because the visiting team didn’t buy up the allotment of tix set aside for them. That would mean Tech isn’t showing up, not the Dawgs.

I hear some of you that say that this game this year does not mean anything because of the records. I don’t care what anyone says, both teams can be 0-11 this game ALWAYS means something. It has for over 100 years. Tell that to the alumni.
This is both teams biggest rival. It is big regardless of the records so please don’t downplay the game because of records or fear that the team you back is worse than the other. This kind of game will bring out the best in both teams. Honestly, I would love to see a blowout, but I would bet that it goes down to the wire!

Pike….if UGA beat UGA 2 years ago, then Tech beat Tech last year and we are 0-0 since Paul Johnson stepped in. Demarius Thomas was wide open and dropped a pass in the closing minutes of last year’s game to end it for us. We would at least have been on the 30 yard line with plenty of time to beat you by 1 point. And as Murphy noted earlier, it only takes 1 “pint” to get a W.
I’d venture to say that UGA has as many nerd students as Tech because there are 30,000 of you idiots and only 20,000 Tech students with lots being graduate/research students from overseas (i.e. Nerds). I won’t take the time to explain ratio and proportion to you (you’d probably call me a nerd and tell me to “buzz off” again)
I hope Griffin High leads all high schools nationwide in rushing yards. If not, they should run Techs more “basic” offense, since we are able to lead the nation in rushing with our simplistic “garbage”.
I love basketball season, but this is football we are talking about. I’m not changing the subject, you are.
