Quarterback Aaron Murray didn’t practice Tuesday as Georgia began preparations for its regular-season finale against Georgia Tech. Murray is listed as “day-to-day” with a bruised knee and a bruised sternum, both suffered in last Saturday’s loss at Auburn.
In related news, the SEC said Tuesday that it has decided not to suspend Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley for his controversial hits on Murray. The league plans to handle the matter “internally” with the school.
One hit in particular — a late, helmet-to-the-back blow for which Fairley drew a penalty in the third quarter –- has drawn much scrutiny this week.
Georgia’s open date clearly comes at a good time for the battered Murray. The Tech game is on Nov. 27 in Athens.
Coach Mark Richt told the Touchdown Club of Atlanta on Monday, “We think by game time he’ll be able to play.” Richt later said on his radio call-in show, “There is no guarantee he will play in the game, but we’re thinking there’s a good chance he will.”
Tuesday’s practice was closed to the media, and no players or coaches were available for interviews afterward. Georgia said in a news release that Murray did not practice.
“Practice today was a start” in preparing for Tech’s option offense, Richt said in the release. “It’s always tough to simulate their offense. The better job the scout team does, the better chance we have. It wasn’t anything to write home about, but it was a start.”

Hey Coach! You’re not screwed. You know that, we’ve discussed this already. Remember that leaked email that several big name programs will be implicated in pay for play schemes and it appears the FBI has been watching this for a while. Rogers opened the door for them.
You’re alright dog, no need to worry.

The SEC has no footballs. Nick Fairley is a dirty player and should have been ejected for the helmet -on- back hit to Aaron Murray, who is now injured. It is laughable the lengths FB goes to to “protect” the quarterback– then allows this brand of play.
All the SEC and Mike Slive care about is money– and right now– Auburn is the ca$h cow. There is no honor in their inaction or in the hypocritical piety of Gene Chizik either.

I am going to try to post my comment again like someone above did.
There: Agree with BulldogMike…Auburn will get all the calls since they are the SEC’s best hope for the title game. It’s all about the money.
Mike Slive and the SEC are a joke and an embarassment to college football. Watch out Bama and USC in upcoming games; you can expect no calls your way in a close contest.
BTW, Thank God that Trisha does not represent UGA.

First thing first…Gator Fan Laughing at You: We all know that anyone taking a cheap shot on St. Tebow would have not only been vilified in the media but immediately smited by the good lord. Cheap shot–BOOM–Dead. Never to breathe another breath. So since Nick is alive…I assume that it wasn’t THAT dirty a play.
Now no doubt Dirty Fairley will get paid by the NFL…but it will not be for a long period of time. Turns out the O-Lineman in the NFL are better–and meaner than our UGA O-Line. BTW hats off to you boys for having the balls to do something the refs couldn’t. Of course Slive doesn’t pay you does he? My guess is Dirty Fairley will get one…maybe two of the late hits on a QB like those that he doled out this past Saturday before those guys end his career. The NFL would have fined him for about 12 plays on Saturday. An NFL O-Line doesn’t give the NFL that chance.
NFL players…most anyway look at it like “We have all already won the lottery. Let’s not ruin it for each other!” College football players should play like that too. “We are really close. Let’s play hard…get noticed and not hurt each other.” Then one piece of garbage coach encourages one piece of garbage player to go play–not just to win the game but to really hurt someone. Yes I am talking about the Chiz. The game was won…yet he still had Dirty Fairley in ther head hunting. Well played sir.
Everyone talks about Richt being soft because he doesn’t go for the jugular and ruin teams once the game is in hand. Well after this weekend I am glad we have a coach that, while soft, is not a piece of garbage like Chizik.

George- Come on! Don’t expect us to change coordinators every yr. like T. Tubberville did. He’s installing a new scheme…even AL struggled in Saban’s first season when he also installed a 3-4 defense. Has it ever occured ot you that maybe we just don’t have the talent on that side of the ball. A few yrs. back when our defense was more consistent we used to always have NFL 1st rounders, but have you noticed that most of our players lately that have been frafted high are on offense. also, how do you figure Bobo should be fired. I may not agree w/ everything he calls, but UGA has scored over 30 points for a school record 6 games. Does it sound like he should be fired to you? It could hurt our recruiting to make changes now when the coaches that are there are teh ones that have been recruiting the players.

Lee, you are correct, UGA needs to find lineman who will stick up for the QB and end the shenanigans of a thug like Fairley! Our offensive line failed to do what Auburn did to the last SEC interior d line prospect, chop block! LSU’s Dorsey, who was force in the interior line, was not even a cheap shot artist. He played the game hard and fair, but AU ended his career with the kind of shot Fairley deserved for his play on Saturday! Oh well, just glad Murry is tough as nails, and here’s to hoping AU War Eagle Tiger Plainsman By the name of Fairey gets what he deserves, the end to a once promising NFL career. Roll Tide!!!!!

Not Jealous of a single one of your 11 temporary wins this season. Reggie Bush…Like Cam was better than any player in college football his final year. And he cost USC dearly by being selfish.
I saw him kiss his hands before the first play. I saw him blow those kisses to the fans. Just as I watched Cam Newton stand arms outstretched in front of the student section and blow those same kisses after the game. Is he great? No question. Is he respectable in any single way? Not hardly.
Our guys aren’t angels…but Cam Newton is a piece of garbage. Dirty Fairley is worse because he didn’t have the good sense to get paid.
So you ask me if I am jealous and I say No Sir. I would rather be 0-11 than have Cam Newton or Dirty Fairley suit up for the dawgs.

Well, I must step out. I was looking forward to discussing Heydawgs allegations but he kept barking from behind his cage and no bite. I ain’t got all night to dedicate myself to people who cannot back up what they’re saying is true.
By the way, I hit Murray late, should’ve hit him sooner but with all of the chop block attempts and stuff I was slightly slower than planed.
So I leave you tonight with closing thoughts about me from Coach Mark Richt: “Nick is the closest thing I’ve seen to Warren Sapp in all the years I’ve been coaching, He’s that big of a load, and you have to have some plan for the guy and even that doesn’t always work. It makes me a little nervous,”
When Richt was coaching in some of those Florida State-Miami games, he said Sapp had a way of blowing up your running game and blowing up your passing game. Richt said Fairley is equally destructive and has the power and strength to body slam guys when he sacks them.
And heydawg, this is how you do it, when you make a quote, you back it up: http://espn.go.com/blog/sec/post/_/id/16626/richt-offers-high-praise-for-nick-fairley
Thanks Coach Richt, I wish your defensive coordinator and your fans were as classy as you.

How far is too far to go to win. Before Saturday I thought I would do anything to win and I would support our coaches doing anything to win. But watching Auburn play has re-set my priorities. I would rather never win another NC than play like Auburn did on Saturday–even for a quarter. If Chizik will use those tactics against an SEC also ran. What would he do against a real SEC foe? Brass Knuckles? How far would a guy like Chizik go to win? Would he pay for a QB?
I warn Bama. These clowns have no evident scruples and will do anything to win. Watch out for a Last Boyscout type of play. I hope they make the Auburn players walk through a metal detector before the game. I wouldn’t put anything past them.
