Georgia’s loss to Auburn on Saturday ended with Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray out of the game after taking a blow to his left knee, and there was no definitive word Sunday on the extent of the injury.
Coach Mark Richt indicated after the game Saturday night that he did not believe the injury was serious, and Murray seemed to be walking fine as he made his way to the locker room.
But on his regular Sunday evening teleconference with the media, Richt had no update on any injuries, including Murray’s.
With Georgia having an open date this week, the team and staff were given a day off on Sunday, and Richt, who conducted the conference call from home, said he had not met with director of sports medicine Ron Courson.
“I’m not going to talk about injuries in this conference,” Richt said. “I’m just going to hold off on that. I’ve got to get a clear picture from Ron . . . When I get with Ron, I’m sure we’ll have a discussion and will have a better idea of what is going on in that regard.”
Murray was on the sideline for the final five plays of Saturday’s game after his knee was jarred in a collision with the helmet of Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley.
“We don’t think there was any kind of structural damage [to the knee],” Richt said in his postgame news conference Saturday night. “We think it was more just a blow on the knee, the bone or whatever. He actually wanted to go back in and play. He was able to. I just told him no.”
Murray was not available for interviews after the game because he was receiving medical attention. Later in the night, he posted on Twitter: “Knee is all good, just gotta get some sleep and [I'll] be feeling good.”
Murray took a battering throughout the game, mainly from Fairley.
Asked Sunday if he took issue with some of Fairley’s hits, Richt said: “That’s another subject I’m not going to make a comment on right now.”
Tensions boiled over near the end of the game, and two Auburn players, defensive end Michael Goggans and defensive tackle Mike Blanc, were ejected for throwing punches.
“Just really disappointed in that,” Auburn coach Gene Chizik said after the game. “That’s a lot of reflection on us as coaches, and I am embarrassed by it. That’s not who we are.”
Richt said Sunday he had not heard from Chizik since the game and does not expect or need to.
“I know our guys were highly emotionally charged also, so I’m not going to sit here and try to say their guys were doing one thing and our guys were doing another,” Richt said. “I had enough concern about what was going on that we took a knee on that last play [of the game] just to try to defuse what was happening out there.”
++++++++++
After this week’s open date, Georgia closes its regular-season schedule Nov. 27 in Athens against Georgia Tech. The Bulldogs (5-6) need a win to become bowl-eligible for the 14th consecutive season.
“It is very important for us to go play in a bowl game,” Richt said Sunday, “but the most important thing for us is to beat our in-state rival, Georgia Tech. That’s more important to me and everyone else. That’s the main focus for us. Bowl eligibility comes along with it.”
Richt said the team will practice Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and take the weekend off. Georgia has played games in 11 consecutive weeks.

Auburn really embarrassed themselves on National TV with their dirty play. They will get what’s coming to them. A friend of mine on the west coast said he had no idea what cheap shots they take in the SEC. I told him Auburn was a good example of that.

Auburn has embarrashed itself by allowing recruitment of a player with Cam Newton’s past. How can a respectable university admit someone who was caught cheating 3 times at another unversity? How could a football coach recruit someone who had 13 traffic violations in one year and was guilty of stealing?
The only team with less character than Auburn is Florida who also saw nothing with PC Cam!

Can’t believe this SEC ref crew let all those late hits by Fairley go unnoticed. Unreal, you can’t just piledrive a QB into the gorund trying to injure him, or hit him in the knees or the back trying to knock him out fo the game.

I had to listen to the game on ESPN radio. They have no dog in the fight, and they were commenting what cheap shots and late hits Fairly was putting on Murray. They made the comment twice that he should have been thrown out of the game.
Let’s see what the SEC does about these officials that allowed Auburn to play as dirty as they did. I used to pull for Auburn except when they played the Dogs, now I will pull for them to get knocked out of the game and will cheer when they do jusy like their fans did when the Ga. player was hurt.

Coach B if the SEC follows the Rules UGA will be sitting 1/2 or your starting O-line for the 1st half of the Tech game for throwing Punches and leaving the sides running on the Field. Tech is bad but UGA miss a bunch of players for half the game is a killer. Let us just see if the SEC will play by the rules you UGA have complained about Auburn not doing. UGA fans start justiflying why your players shouldn’t sit the 1st Half of the TECH game. Please tell all of Americai why the rules should not apply to UGA and how what your players did was no big deal.

AU kicked our tails. Newton is a great player, much better than Tebow, not even close. Fairly is a thug, simple. I read the remarks in the blogesphere about chop blocks and chippy play both ways which is hogwash. The chop block was dealt with by the officials, as it should have been. Fairly got called for one personal foul when he should have been called for four. Auburn is a better team and won the game, congrats to them. I look forward to seeing how Spurrier deals with them now that we’ve had season to reveal the douches they are.

Making no excuses for the Dawgs loss. The defense has had to adjust to a new scheme and Grantham doesn’t have his players yet. AJ missed almost half the season, not excuses just facts and football.
They got beat by a team thats worth at least $200,000.
Reggie and LT never had late hits like Fairley did, he’s a disgrace to SEC football!!

I believe Fairley is the player who gave Ryan Mallett a concussion by driving him into the ground. I thought at the time that it was a dirty hit. According to CBS, several SEC coaches have complained about Fairley’s over-aggresive hits on the QB. This reflects on Chizik and the SEC needs to intervene soon before he cripples someone.

Auburn’s passing over of Gill in favor of Chizik, saying “race was the No. 1 factor. You can say it’s not about race, but you can’t compare the two résumés and say [Chizik] deserved the job. Out of all the coaches they interviewed, Chizik probably had the worst résumé.”[20] There was also an incident made famous by youtube where an Auburn fan loudly booed athletic director Jay Jacobs upon his arrival after Chizik’s hiring, shouting “We want a leader, not a loser.”.[21]

SEC fans can get used to it. When the SEC has a dog in the hunt for the National Championship the SEC refs are going to favor that dog – just like they did for Alabama last year and Florida the year before that. Too much money involved. They aren’t going to do anything to weaken it’s chances to have a team in the Championship game. If you don’t believe it, watch what happens to South Carolina in Atlanta.

It took the NCAA a while to get hip to the Reggie Bush thing, but when it did, no bowls and loss of scholarships. This though, I feel, is far more flagrant.

All those that left the sidelines during the fight should be sitting the first half of the next game by NCAA rules. Fairley should have been flagged for his dance when the asst coach was trying to get him off the field. There was mutual punching going on, Auburn got caught. They need to change NCAA rules to make it illegal to plant the QB like it is in NFL. Someone is going to be seriously hurt if they don’t.

It’s a sad commentary on society when a “reverend” pimps his son, then tries to justify by taking blame. Chizick’s hands are all over this. There is no way he didn’t know about the money.

The Auburn Creed:
I believe that this is a practical world and that I can count only on what I earn. Therefore, I believe in work, hard work. I believe that it is work for Bishop Newton to ask for money for his son to play at Auburn.
I believe in honesty and truthfulness, without which I cannot win the respect and confidence of my fellow men. Cam Newton gets a pass on this one because he is an incredible football player.
I believe in a sound mind, in a sound body and a spirit that is not afraid, and in clean sports that develop these qualities. Nick Fairley gets a pass on this one…he can play as dirty as he wants to play.
I believe in obedience to law because it protects the rights of all. Except for Cam Newton who cheats and steals laptop computers..
I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all. Except for opposing QBs….we will hit them late in the spine and knees.
I believe in my Country, because it is a land of freedom and because it is my own home, and that I can best serve that country by “doing justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with my God.” We serve God by paying for new roofs of churches pastored by Bishop Newton.
And because Auburn men and women believe in these things, I believe in Auburn and love it.

Everyone knows Auburn’s players have never been held to a high standard. Remeber Rudi Johnson. Cam Newton is just the latest Rudi. Here today and gone tomorrow. What I can’t deny is they won the game. They will beat Spurrier, though I confess a certain joy watching him beat Florida and knocking them out of the big dance, and win the national championship over an exposed Oregon team. At any rate, Auburn’s championships will be forever tainted with the stink of dishonesty and players without character. I am more impressed that an undermaned and dedicated Georgia team that fought GOLIATH blow for blow until about 8 minutes to go in the 4th quarter. Something I didn’t think they could do. I am PROUD of my Dawgs and their effort. They gave all they had and left everything on the field. JUST AS THEY SHOULD HAVE.

Trisha….did you go to Auburn? If so, you did not learn punctuation or grammar…..”Cam’s” is possessive – as in “Cam’s laptop was stolen from a student at Florida.”……… It is not a contraction for “Cam has” done that all season. Also, “ITS” is possessive as well. An example of the proper use of the word would be “Auburn will have to forfeit ITS national championship when the NCAA finds evidence that Bobby Lowder paid Daddy Newton.” I think you meant to say “it is” which would be the contraction “it’s”.

I just watched the video of the hit on Murray’s knee ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0nhl66fjqlI ). I don’t understand all of the comments. Farley had his own knees cut and he was failing at the time. The 790 the Zone comments are all saying how bad it was, I just don’t see it looking at the video. I do agree the earlier hit it the back was one of the latest hits on a QB I have seen, but that one actually worked out to UGA’s advantage. I didn’t see the hit on the knee live, but obviously had heard about it. I was expecting it to be as flagrant as the first. But it wasn’t even close. I see why the official didn’t throw a flag. Farley actually hit the ground at the same time as he hit Murray. I hope Murray is okay, but this seems much ado about nothing. Again, the earlier hit in the back WAS terrible.

Auburn won the game, no doubt. Auburn had the best player on the field, no doubt. Auburn was the better team,no doubt. The refs let this game get out of control both ways. The Auburn RB got facemasked no flag. Jones performed a cut block no flag. But Fairly was cheapshotting from the getgo. Not only was he late hitting and driving Murray into the ground but he routinly grab the blockers jersey to throw him out of the way. Twice he nearly pulled the jersey off by grabbing the back of it. I think yall AU fans are missing the point. AU won, they deserved to win But you have to admit trying to injure a QB is wrong. Have some pride about yourselves. You know good and well Tuberville, and Dye would not have stood for this kind of dirty play. As for Newton I hope AU did nothing wrong. But Chizik may have ruined your school for many years by playing him. If this hits like many think it will Tenn. will recover bfore AU. But then again Chizik was in a tough position he is the coach no one wanted so he has to win. I just hope another SEC school doesnt suffer because of a greedy coach.

Seriously…no ones going to mention the AllBarn fans booing of Ruben Faloughi when he was injured, laying on the field? I’ve been to several games (home and away) and have never heard any fan boo an opponent who was injured. To make it worse, the commentators applauded Auburn fans for doing so. Am I missing something here? Or has this game evolved into a classless state that I no longer want to support? Good clean, hard hittin football is great. Late hits, cheap shots, punches, and injury jeering is just plain embarrassing. I’m embarrassed for the SEC.

Grew up an AU fan and very disappointed in them and their coaches reactions during the end of the game. The whole Cam Newton “act” is gonna blow up in their face. They are treating him like an addict that went away to rehab (JUCO) and now deserves a second shot. Throw some “he helps school kids” in for show and it is all just a little to insincere. His actions don’t at all represent what they are trying to say about his character. Slive and Auburn want to ride him all the way to the bank. Call it what it is. He is a bought criminal, liar, and cheat. I have a bad feeling about what is down the road for AU. I am not sure they will be able to handle the microscope they are going to be under.

Dirty Dawgs? I think so.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/517057-georgia-auburn-gets-ugly-why-richt-must-go
Fairley tackles Washuan Ealey after a gain of about 3 yards. During the play UGA’s number 61 Ben Jones holds the jersey of Auburn’s number 93 Mike Blanc and pushes him out of the play. Then in a pre-mediated manner Jones immediately pounces on Auburn’s number 90 Nick Fairley and grapples with him on the ground. On the video you can clearly see Jones punching Fairley in the abdomen as he pins him on the ground. Seeing this, Auburn’s Mike Blanc and Stevens pull Jones off of Fairley. UGA’s Washaun Ealey gets in the middle and starts shoving and punching Blanc. UGA’s #60 Clint Boling then jumps in the middle and starts punching any Auburn player he can see, all while he continues to thrust himself into the Auburn side of the line of scrimmage.
While Boling is punching players, Auburn’s Goggins pushes him away from the Auburn players that Jones is attacking. While shoving Goggins away he shoves the face mask of Boling. Then Washaun Ealey, already suspended this year for going to jail, punches Goggins in the facemask.
Of course, in the Professional manner of SEC officiating, the Referee calls the punch on Goggins and ejects him for the deliberate actions of Mark Richt’s players, specifically Ben Jones, Ealey, and Boling. Then, while the SEC officials explain the penalty, Mark Richt has the audacity to come out on the field and tell the Ref that this is what happens when you don’t call the personal foul on Nick Fairley on the previous play.
But wait, it is not over. Two plays later, UGA runs the ball to the right. During this play, UGA’s #60 Clint Boling goes after the knees of Auburn lineback Craig Stevens. Also, #71 Cordy Glenn, blocks Auburn’s #93 Mike Blanc in the back and out of the play while holding his jersey. UGA’s Glenn continues pushing Blanc out of the play and Blanc starts pounding the chest of Glenn in the same manner as lineman punch during a pass rush. Glenn continues to shove Blanc after the whistle blows and tries to shove him into the UGA players bench.
Of course, in the Professional manner of SEC officiating, the referee call Blanc for a punch and ejects him from the game. Once again, as the result of Mark Richt’s out of control players and program a second Auburn player is ejected from the game.
So, I guess Mark Richt got what he wanted, two players ejected. Instead of graciously accepting his loss, he lashes out and instructs his players to involve themselves in behavior demeaning to the University of Georgia and the rest of College Football. Instead of graciously accepting defeat, his jealously will likely cause 2 Auburn players to miss the first half of the Auburn Alabama game. Mark Richt’s jealous rage could affect the outcome of that game and the outcome of the BCS.
Worse, Mark Richt has lost control of his program. Richt has had over 11 players arrested, one of which, Ealey, was in the middle of and instigated these actions. The lack of institutional control has been reflected for over 5 years now and shows its head amongst the game, the players, penalties, coaching, and on to the fans and worse yet, the students. I have over 5 stories (I’ll spare the details) of UGA fans harassing me at a UGA Auburn game. Two of these stories occurred after watching UGA players dance and stomp between quarters in an effort to show off. In addition, I have witnessed first hand Georgia players punching and gouging players in the pile.
I can’t figure out how Richt is able to portray himself so well off the field, but portrays himself so poorly on the field. Lastly, I can’t figure out how the Georgia football nation has not figured it out as well.
In conclussion, Richt has lost control of his program. For the benefit of Georgia and college sportsmanship, it would be best if Richt regained that control.

I’m not an Auburn or Georgia fan. Fairly is a cheap-shot thug. He should have been thrown out of the game after the last LATE shot to Murray’s knees. Georgia’s team did show a lack of discipline by running onto the field. That’s a black-eye to Richt and his program.
The worser of the two though is a player who deliberately tries to injure and maim someone in a game.

The sad thing here is that all these Auburns fans keep accusing Georgia of whining when that is not the case, only stating facts and observations and in many cases acknowledging we got beat by a better team. Secondly, Georgia did not brag and act like as big of an ass as Auburn fans are acting like right in the last four years combined when Georgia whipped Auburn. All the Auburn fans on here and in the stadium have shown themselves to be extremely poor winners which is pretty sad for a team that was supposed to win and had every scenario in their favor (at home, Newton playing, undefeated and playing against a brand new struggling Georgia defense and a 5-5 team). If you want to celebrate your victory then that’s fine but so far you’re all acting like a bunch of whining (that’s right) like brats. Pretty sad when the losers are taking it better than the winners.

I quote from the article..”English Bulldogs have been consistently bred to have compact faces. Their skulls and jaws have become completely contorted to the point of malfunction and they can no longer breathe with ease. Most pregnant English Bulldogs can no longer deliver litters without surgical assistance due to being bred to have a heavier frame and lower center of gravity. ”

Unless Aaron Murray is a liar, there is no word yet.
Updated SEC Standings show that Georgia is # 8 in The SEC.
CMR is the # 5 Coach in The SEC.
CMR is the # 6 highest paid coach in all of college football.
His coaching staff is horrid, has been horrid and continues to be horrid.
There are now two (2) teams CMR lost to this season who are not ranked and got no votes in either the USA Today Coaches’ Poll nor a vote in the AP Poll. There is 1 game left. We lost to Florida and Colorado. God Almighty don’t tell me we will lose to Georgia tek. They suck. So did Florida and Colorado.
Maybe 2 games left, so beating Georgia tek makes us both 6-6 and gives UGA a chance to go to Birmingham for the Birmingham bowl. That is another month of this same “coaching staff” to continue to screw up our players.
43-20 over the last 5 years now for Coach Richt.
95-33 overall over the last 10 years
52-13 the first 5 years with Jim Donnan’s recruits
33 Losses, 20 other 10-year periods better in UGA history fewer 33 losses
We didn’t seem prepared to play for 60 minutes
10-42 the final 3 quarters
# 54 Total Offense NCAA Rank this am for UGA
# 52 Total Offense NCAA Rank Average all 10 years of CMR Era
So, we are slightly worse this year than CMR’s usual crappy Offense
# 6 game this season where the opposing QB out-played our QB on the field
# 6 resultant loss for the starting QB now with a 5-6 record
David Greene had the most wins in NCAA history as Starting QB when he graduated
There is some other measure now for our best player all season long, nowadays
Not sure what that is, other than he is the about the only clean kid on our team with all the late piling on, chop blocks, penalties, fisticuffs, offensive pass interference, shoving down of Auburn pass defenders with the ball in the air and celebrating by our guys during the game we lost by nearly 3 TD, such as the fist pump by Aaron Murray on the 15-yard late hit penalty in Nick Fairley which gave us a score or they beat us by nearly 4 TD. Both teams were having at it. Pardon me. 1 has the Fulmer Cup this season.

You want to talk about coaches’ sideline actions? You obviously missed when your beloved Richt ran 10 yds out on the field to emphatically wave Auburn’s offense back after a penalty AND even more emphatically pointing at the penatly flag!!! Funny how Auburn has not been involved in a fight all year until the UGA “thugs” and their coaches…yes, they’re just as bad (read lips and observe sideline actions)…come to town! For all that attended the game, also please note that the entire UGA bench ran on the field when the fight broke out to take on the AU defensive 11, while the AU team stayed on the sideline where they belonged!!!
NOTE: AU player was blocked into A.Murray…all non-UGA fans can easily see it!!! Also, note that pic (a clean hit) on AJC online sports page is NOT play Murray was hurt .

Why is that the comments section of any AJC article seem to attract the absolute worst quality of people? As an Auburn fan, I refuse to believe the 200+ comments thus far reflect accurately the level of maturity intelligence of the vast majority of UGA fans. Both teams played very aggressively, both teams took some cheap shots, and both teams got the benefit of some bad calls. In other words, it was a typical SEC game. Nasty personal accusations against any particular player, coach or the opposing fans serve no purpose other than make people look like angry fools.

AU won pure and simple, no excuses. They are the better team this year and are undefeated. With that being said, nothing will change my mind that Fairley is the dirtiest player in the Nation! He speared Murray with the crown of his helmet in his lower back way after the pass was thrown. In fact, he even purposely hit him in the kidney area off to the side of the flack-jacket. He knew exactly what he was trying to do. And, you can’t say that he was blocked into Murray on the hit to the knee. He got around the block, had his helmet up and went straight toward his leg, again with the crown of his helmet. If you defend his actions, then you too are a POS!

At AU, we stay out of jail and take are agression out on the field instead of fellow students and innocent bystanders. UGA might want to try that one day. It seems to work well. If you play with a purpose, you get results. Yes fairley abused the QB with the late hit, but when he rolled onto murray’s knee, that wasnt intentionally. You remeber Tom Brady’s injury, same here. There is a reason why other than the ARKY game, the AU defense has been stronger in the second half. After the first quarter saturday, AU outscored the dawgs 42-10. I used to have a certain amount of respect for the Auburn program, team and school but no longer. Chizik says he’s embarrassed and he should be after that low-rent classless display he put on along with his players. It was very embarrassing not only for Auburn but for the SEC. Karma is a b#!*# and it will happen. It always does.

Yes, knocking a QB out of the game is part of football and it always has been. But, it’s supposed to be done with good, clean hits that are within the rules. Football is a game with rules and if you think the helmut-first spearing in the back several seconds after the QB released the ball is ok, then you are a low-life, classless idiot, just like Fairley.

Wow!! All these scour grape comments by the cracker nation. I thought for sure that your coach would have your dogs wear a different color uniform. It was so successful wearing black jerseys against Bama (snicker). I was expecting pink pants. Didn’t see any, probably were wearing pink jock straps. Dogs played like a bunch of pansy a$$$s. If your offensive line would learn to block then your QB would not get hurt. Learn to lose with some class. Enjoy the Birmingham Bowl at historic Legion Field. Beware the ghost of the “Bear” and don’t wear black jerseys.

I totally agree with JUSTAFAN comments, number 90 Nick Fairley should have been thrown out of the game! His coach needs to look in the mirror and ask himself, what if the opposing team did that to money-for-hire Cam Newton, he would have went beserk! Coach Richt needs to be fired as he is way too soft to be a head coach and can’t win big games either. At UGA. we need a Saban type of coach who wins big games and protects his players. Nick Fairley was hitting late on the QB several times and only flagged once, be for real! He was intentionally driving his shoulder into the QB into the ground to try and injure QB Murray, even the announcers said the intent was obvious and that college football needs to inact tougher rules protecting the QB, not just QB Murray. I can’t figure out the officials letting this kind of crap go on in this rivalry type game in the SEC! To intentionally try to injure another player has no place in any kind of football, if i was coach of the Bulldogs i would have chopped blocked this Fairley all day long until he got a good taste of his own medicine!

Remember when Brown got knocked out during the Aub/Ga game at Jordan Hare a few years back? The whole stadium was silent after that hit and then cheered for him as he was carted off the field. That was a big hit but it’s part of football. The Auburn fans/players etc. showed some class when that happened, but this is different. Defending cheap shots is really low, but have your fun this year. Your 1-year mercenary QB will be gone after this year and it will be back to the same ole thing on the plains..

If the kind of hits Murray took from Nick Fairley are illegal in the NFL, you’d think the NCAA would also ban them. It was apparent to me that Fairley was out to injure Murray. On at least two occassions I saw Fairley try to bury Murray by driving him to the ground. The one penalty that was called on Fairley for hitting Murray in the back with his helment would be a fine in the NFL. It’s time for the NCAA to take a look at this kind of play.

The NCAA should suspend Farley for the Alabama game for all the cheap shots he took on Murray. You can bet the CMR sent off a dvd. Also, the officials should be suspended for the rest of the year for letting the game get out of hand. I’m not too worried about the loss because Auburn will have to forfiet this game and all the others for using an ineligible player when they knew he was. I used to be an Auburn fan when they weren’t playing UGA but no more. They teach dirty football. It’s not just Georgia fans that are saying this. Nick Fairley is just another community college punk that probably doesn’t even show up for class at Auburn. Just the name “class” indicates that he would go the other way! Auburn’s defense has been taking cheap shots all season (especially against Clemson once they fell behind) and this is a poor reflection on Ted Roof (who I thought was better than that) and Gene Chizik. Sad to say, but once again it appears that the SEC office and officials are protecting the conference’s top ranked team because of the $$$ at the end of the BCS rainbow. Mike Slive needs to grow a pair and stand up to the recruiting cheats and cheap-shots on the field!

The officials failed to control this game…they seemed intimidated by the atmosphere and the crowd. To me the replays on both the on-side kick and the last TD showed that neither should have been allowed. The, so-called, attempt to stiff-arm our DB by Newton – one actually called a ‘punch’ by the announcers – should have resulted in his being ejected and having to miss the first half of the Alabama game. All-in-all Auburn showed it’s a$$ Saturday and it won’t help them when decisions have to be made about the ‘Cam Newton Affair’. Auburn’s choice to play him will cost them, big-time, when the NCAA finds out the truth about ‘the money’.
All this talk about whether the accusations alone should cost him the Heisman Trophy is one thing, but the same thing can be said about their remaining at the top, one or two, spots in the BCS. If I were Boise State and/or TCU I’d take it to court to force the NCAA, the FBI and anybody else that’s charged at getting at the truth on this, to pull out all the stops, offer whoever needs it immunity to tell what they know now so this can be resolved before the BCS NC is decided. It’s one thing to have to go back and have awards vacated, it’s another to deny other teams their chance to play for the NC. Auburn’s counting on lies and denial of guilt to get them by – a team that’s lost, at least, two other chances at the National Championship because they were on probation at the time – but with a little incentive will bring the facts out and decisions can be made.
By the way, this business about burning the toilet paper at Toomer’s Corner – that’s how they get the stuff down every time anyway, so if a disgruntled Georgia fan set fire to it he was probably just helping out.

I like how Dawg fans like to ignore their dirty play and flat out lie about things that happened during the game. Most of you UGA fans probably weren’t even watching the game in the last 2 min. I know 95% of the UGA fans in the stadium were gone… Instead you watch a couple of clips of Fairly making bad hits and act like he was the only guilty party Sat. A few facts for you guys that get your info from blogs.
1. UGA got a personal foul on the FIRST play of the game. Who is it that set the tone of dirty play again? Even the announcers said in the first quarter “It’s getting a little chippy out there, and it’s being led by Mark Richt.” FYI, UGA had 5 personal fouls, same as Auburn. Another thing the broadcast didn’t show was the UGA players attempting to jump up and down on our logo before the refs intervened and pushed them to the 45. First time I saw any team do that all season.
2.You guys keep going on about Chizik being fired up, but Richt was showing his a$$ from the start, running out on the field on a holding call, pointing at the flag and waving like an idiot for it to come back. He was on the field so much in the game I thought he was a player. But because Chizik was fired up for beating a rival and securing the West title, he’s classless. You guys have a coach that made a choking jesture to an opposing player last week, and a head coach that ordered an excessive celebration in a game as “motivation”. Don’t talk to us about coach behavior, hypocrites.
3. The first hit Fairly made to the back of Murray was stupid and reckless, and he was flagged for it as he should have been, keeping UGA’s drive alive on a failed 3rd down attempt. Murray got up like a man and Georgia ended up scoring.
4. Early in the second, Josh Davis tried to hit Fairly’s knee while he was being blocked by another player, but thankfully he didn’t make good contact. He was flagged for a chop block, the only one of about 4 that got called for UGA fans that want to talk about personal fouls not being called. Keep in mind that this is a full quarter before Fairly’s cheap shot to the back of Murray. So the UGA fans saying this was retailiation for the hit in the back need to actually watch the game, not youtube clips.
5. UGA fans keep making up stuff saying AU fans booed an injured player. I was right there in front of the guy, and he was coming off the field OK before the UGA coaches came on the field and yelled for him to fall down so they could get a free timeout and slow down our drive. We were booing the coaches, not the player, so get your facts straight. UGA fans also convieniently ignore the fact that the AU fans cheered everytime an injured UGA player walked off the field. They also ignore that the AU players knelt to pray when one UGA player got seriously hurt, unlike UGA’s players.
6. UGA fans are whining about the player who injured his ankle, saying the AU player rolled on top of it. If you actually watch it, Smith put a block on the guy and then fell to the ground. The UGA player’s foot got caught under him as he was shedding the block and trying to pursue the runner. Not sure how Smith could help that since he was falling to the ground after the block.
7. On the play where Murray got injured, Fairly was blocked into Murray and his facemask hit his shin as he was falling down. I’m not sure how a 300 lb dude is supposed to stop midair if he is falling down. The ref was standing right there looking at it and didn’t think it was intentional. Neither did either of the broadcasters. This probably wouldn’t be made such a big deal if Fairly hadn’t made the stupid hit earlier.
8. A few plays later, UGA players attempted a gang beating on Fairly, piling on, punching and trying to gouge his eyes. Goggans got kicked out for trying to defend his teamate. FYI, UGA got called for a personal foul for the attack, but that is ignored. The entire UGA bench cleared trying to get in a brawl, while the AU bench stayed put. How not a single UGA player was ejected from the game is beyond me. Leaving the bench is grounds for ejection and suspension.
9. Bottom line is, Fairly clearly made some cheap plays Sat, but the Murray injury wasn’t one of them. UGA fans ignore the fact the Richt has no control over his team, and it shows in the police blotter and on the field. Quit being all high and mightly acting like your team did nothing wrong Sat. UGA set the tone early and were just as much a part of the dirty play that went on.
10. And to the fans bringing up the black jerseys in 2007, AU wasn’t upset about the black jerseys gimmick, they took issue with the game turning into a Soulja Boy dance party.
11. You UGA fans talking about class might want to go bail your buddy out of the AU jail that got arrested for trying to burn down Toomer’s Sat night. Now that’s class.

ATL Don’t worry…we will use the same excuse we used last year…and 7 of the 8 years before that….and you will disappear and not be heard from until you start predicting next August how bad you are going to beat us. But I know…you have bigger fish to fry…..go back to your mother’s basement.

if it were the other way around, with Newton getting hit in the spine with the crown of a helmut, getting hit in the knees and getting body slammed, Auburn would’ve retaliated too..don’t play dumb on that. it was a football game, Auburn won, Georgia lost.. Eugene Chizik showed that he is a man of character, good or bad, you decide….move on…

everybody give Chizik a break, he’s never been there before..now, he’s been 0-10 before, just a few years ago, so he’s still trying to figure out how to react on his very good ‘investment’ of Cam Newton..money well spent..what did USC get for the R Bush thing? just wondering?

Auburn is not an elite team. They have a great offensive player and one great defenisve player. Terrible defense and the offense is all gimmicks. This is not a traditional SEC powerhouse and for that reason I hope they don’t win another game. They do not deserve to represent the SEC. Hard to beleive but Tebow was a breath of fresh air compared to all the CAM hype.

I hope the DAWGS have cried their eyes out already. If UGA has to wait 2 weeks until they play again, then how much crying are we going to have to listen too?
HOW many UGA players Should have to have sit for the 1st Half of the TECH GAME? UGA fans are all crying FOWL and that teams need to play by the rules. So, Dawgs How many of your players jumped on Fairley? Who many Threw punches? How many left the bench and rushed the Field? So, again HOW MANY DAWGS SHOULD BE SUSPENDED for the 1st half of their next game like the rules say?
Dawgs Stand-up and Play by the RULES you are crying about and TELL THE WORLD you are a true Rule Loving University and Sit all the Players that BROKE THE RULES in the AUBURN GAME.

Trisha…i’ve repeatedly heard you defend the notion that if the ref’s did not see the violation, then it was clean. The premise is based upon the following logis: if you are not caught, then you did nothing wrong. So I guess it’s no problem if someone drives while intoxicated and kills someone during a hit & run so long as they are not found by the police. Support your team, that’s fine, but don’t be ignorant in your logic, or in the support of your team. Farley aims to injure, and if Aaron Murray were your son, you would take exception to his style of play. Enough said…

So Durham & Barnhart
Just said on the radio that the SEC will not Suspend ANY UGA player that broke the rules in the Fight and Rushing the Field during the Auburn v UGA game.
The SEC is a JOKE. They make rules and don’t even act like they matter.
UGA quit whinning about AUBRUN breaking the RULES and going after your QB unless you want Most of your starting O and most of your starting D to have to sit the TECH game. You had too many players break the rules rushing the field.
UGA fans will love the TECH game. It kicks at 7:45 on ESPN. Thank God I don’t go to Athens anymore. All the DRUNK UGA fans are the worst. Don’t even think there is another SEC teams fans that are as CLASSLESS as DRUNK DAWGS.

jack bull, you do realize Chizik has been a big part of 2 undefeated teams, right? 2004 @ Auburn and at Texas a few years ago, so yeah he HAS been there before. Keep bringing up Cam and Chizik’s time at Iowa State if that’s what helps you sleep at night. The score still reads 49-31, however. UGA got whooped on the field, and now their fans are whining about anything and everything off of it.

that gimmick offense has torched several sec teams this year. I see you and grantham are on the same page thinking the AU offense just uses trick plays.I guess if you call a qb power qb sweep, and zone read play being trick plays, then i’d say you’re correct. Only thing is if you saw Vince Yound play at Texas you might understand. I see your lack of knowledge is showing. It appears AU told you guys that their running the ball and you couldnt stop it. Plain and simple

Dirty Dawgs? Lack of class on Georgia’s side? I think so.
http://bleacherreport.com/articles/517057-georgia-auburn-gets-ugly-why-richt-must-go
Fairley tackles Washuan Ealey after a gain of about 3 yards.
