Auburn coach Gene Chizik had one thing he wanted to say unequivocally on the SEC coaches’ weekly conference call with the media today.
“Cameron Newton will be playing Saturday against the Georgia Bulldogs,” Chizik said, “and I want to get that off the table.”
Amid various reports of alleged improprieties in Newton’s recruitment and academic record, Chizik declined to answer questions about the matter, saying he would entertain only queries related to Saturday’s game.
Earlier on the conference call, Georgia coach Mark Richt said the Bulldogs are preparing to face Newton, Auburn’s Heisman Trophy-contending quarterback.
“We really haven’t tried to keep up with that at all,” Richt said of the controversy swirling around Newton. “I think it could be a distraction to us, so we’re keeping our blinders on and studying the film and getting the plan and making sure we’re prepared for him being the quarterback.
“As much as some people think it might could be a distraction to them, it could be a distraction to us if we’re ‘Is he in? Is he out?’ type of thing. We’re planning on him being in, and we’re preparing that way.”

War Eagles? Plainsmen? Tigers?? What’s wrong with a school that is SO confused with its identity? I guess you do that when you are located in the middle of nowhere in east Alabama. Even the state wouldn’t let them use the state’s name in their title and there is no plain in Alabama. All that “plains” stuff is from a poem about a village named Auburn located in Scotland!! Weird.

DawgNation,
If Newton is found guilty and Auburn must later forfeit the win, will that ease some of the pain concerning our upcoming beat-down? Mama thinks so. I think not.
Cam looks similar to the officer that arrested me last week. Can you imagine that guy in a S.W.A.T. uniform? He kicked in Mama’s trailer door and found me hiding under the bed with a UGA classic tin lunch pale full of weed.
Anybody want a beer?

On top of that you have a fan base composed of people like me. I know I spend much time in and out of prison but UGA needs me drooling in the stands. When I’m not throwing-up in the stands.
We, however, have our rich history. I heard Athens was named after a little spot in grease.

“When addressing the allegations Tuesday, Newton said, “I’m not going to entertain something that took place not three months, not six months, not a year, but two years ago.”
You won’t get off that easy by making that remark…stealing, cheating, lying…what else have you done lately?

Chizik is really looking like the chump here in all of this…he simply needs to say that if the allegations are true, you can expect us to handle it but in the meantime we are preparing to play Georgia…
He either knows something or just plain stupid! War Dumb Eagle!

The more and more I read it starting to look like Cam’s a flim flam artist. He’s the Eddie Heiskel of the SEC. I just don’t see the accusations as being un-true. I was very skeptical when the AJ thing exploded too. It’s total BS if the guy plays when AJ had to sit 4 games for selling a jersey for $1000. This guy probably took 200 times that amount and it hasn’t cost his team a game and possible their season…. Yet!

The more you read and learn, the more you appreciate Mark Richt. He clearly has to make changes but I would take him over a host of short fix disasters.

He will play. And Auburn will forfeit their games to their opponents in a year or so, and then Auburn will regret turning a blind eye to the credible and mounting evidence that Newton, or his dad, did wrong. Let’s face it – the guy had three felony charges of theft, apparently had cheated at Florida, and now has other controversies swirling around him. But Auburn wants to win, and that is more important than ethics or doing the right thing. Sad. Of course, he will play…

The funniest thing about all this is so called dawgs talking about ethics. The miracle is they even know what the word is, or then again maybe its just something they heard while trolling through Wal-mart checking out the fat chicks and trying to shoplift beer.

Losers: I’m sorry you consider yourself to be a loser. Maybe a shrink can help? I don’t know if Cam got any money. No one said Auburn payed Cam Newton. Asking for money to sign is a NCAA violation resulting in permanent suspension. You don’t have to receive money – and the price appears to be “Escalading”.

Let’s make this clear Georgia wants Cam Newton to play. Georgia has beaten Auburn 4 years in a row and plays even better against them on the road. You had “Cadillac”. Now you have the “Escalade”.

” The SEC is down, Auburn has skimmed by in more than two games. Oregon, Oklahoma, and TCU would drill Auburn.”
That has to be the most uneducated comment I have heard. What has so far this year that tells you TCU or Oklahoma would “drill” Auburn.

I like to say just 2 things. One, we let that Auburn play dirty all day long. And our coaches are too stupid to complain. Two, as usual our D is not stopping any one. Well, too complicate the new D ha? If it is too complicate don’t use it. I just get sick when the other team is chunking on ours at will. Last one, we play good both run and pass but no continuity this due to Bobo want to show off his “variety of play callings”. Lots of losers fan always has all the excuses but not me. Good bye.

Typical Auburn win, let the refs do it for you and take dirty shots at the QB…Shows what kind of class Auburn is. Not to mention the Head Coach when he lets the dirty player continue to play. I hope the SEC and the NCAA comes down hard on Auburn and it’s dirty/Illegal players.

WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t see you Bulldogs running your muzzles tonight. You got slapped around in more than one way tonight. You losers sit in your corners, and chew your bone. You aren’t on the level of the Tigers. No bowl games for you. And no thumb either. You have a 1 1/2 hour drive to the house. Plenty of time to re-evaluate your ignorance. Let’s hear some of your little snappy comebacks. I love reading how under-educated you people are. We win, you lose. You are no different than bama fans. Consistently going into the past, when faced with the present. “Oh, we did this. And we did that.” Today is what was in question, idiots. Guess what? It’s no longer in question. Get some education, and some common sense. Cam is going nowhere. He will be running you over next year also. WAR EAGLE!!!!!!!!!!!! Peace losers.

To: LestatsPrince, Auburn Kitties or Pigeons…your choice…Do you remember 2004? 2004? Remember it well, it will repeat in 2010. Forfeit all games when an ineligible player plays. Also, don’t forget you WILL lose to Alabama AND lose the SEC Championship for bonus.

Richie… I agree. I take nothing from Georgia. Always a favorite of mine to watch. Oldest rivalry in the south. It’s the ignorant fans, like Dawgfan above, that I speak to. Slanderous ignorance at it’s best. Awesome game, and look forward to it next year. Nationals, here we come. WAR EAGLE!!!!!
