It isn’t the bitterest of Georgia’s football rivalries. Just the oldest and most competitive.
Georgia and Auburn first played in Atlanta’s Piedmont Park in 1892. They have played 113 times since then. Auburn has won 53. Georgia has won 52. They have tied eight.
So, if Georgia were to win this year’s meeting at Auburn on Saturday, the Deep South’s oldest college-football rivalry would pull completely even at 53-53-8.
After all these games, all these years, only 56 points separate the teams. Georgia has scored 1,778 and Auburn 1,722. The average score in their meetings is 15.7-15.2.
“I think that as we go on during the week the younger guys will get a better picture of what this rivalry is and has been over the years and what it’s meant,” Auburn coach Gene Chizik said Sunday. “It’s just a great rivalry. It’s what college football is all about.”
At 113 games, the Georgia-Auburn series is older than Georgia-Georgia Tech (102 games) and Auburn-Alabama (74 games).
Georgia has won the past four meetings, the Bulldogs’ longest winning streak in the series since the 1940s. As Chizik mentioned Sunday, no current Auburn player has experienced a win over Georgia.
Over the years, it has been a curious series in that the road team has won more often than the home team. Georgia has an all-time record of 14-9-2 in games played at Auburn, while the Tigers have an 18-11 record in Athens. The series was mostly played at neutral sites from 1892 through 1958.
Another quirk in the Georgia-Auburn series in recent years is that the lower-ranked team has found disproportionate success. Neither team was ranked entering last year’s game, but the lower-ranked or unranked team has won seven of the past 13 meetings when one or both teams were ranked. As you know, Auburn will go into Saturday’s game ranked No. 2 in the nation and Georgia unranked. In the last meeting of a ranked Auburn vs. an unranked Georgia, the Bulldogs upset the No. 5 Tigers 37-15 in 2006 at Auburn.

As a UGA alum and die-hard, I do not hate Auburn, though I do consider them our 3rd biggest rival (behind 1. the Nerds and 2. the Lizards).
Auburn is everything an SEC is and should be about. They win respectively and have a great and loyal fanbase to go along with it.
While I love beating Auburn, I do not feel the need to trash talk when we do so (like the previous 4 seasons), and when we lose to them, I feel I can respectively tip my hat and wish them well against BAMA.
I am excited that my Dawgs have a chance to play spoiler this weekend. If we come up short, it’s not as if we were suppose to win, right? We win, we dance in the streets.
Now, go decide on a mascot Auburn. You are confusing the kids.

I think we have a chance. Anything can happen in this game, and over the years a lot has. I actually feel a little better about going over to the Plains than playing ‘Tween the Hedges. Newton is due for a subpar game. Maybe this is the week. Look for a big game changing type play from Alec Ogeltree….he is ready. Go Dawgs!!!

Will Grantham have a chance to “choke” anyone?
Will Ealy continue to run like a girl with two hands on the ball while tippy-toeing up to the line of scrimmage?
Will Cam throw or run for more TD’s against that bad UGA defense?
How many times will Commings, Rambo and the rest of the DB’s get out of position for TD throws, and then turn and look at each other like “it wasn’t my guy” and “I thought you were covering him”…
How many wheel routes will AU run with no one close to the intended receiver? (you would think that after getting beat on this play in 9 out of ten games someone would figure out this coverage problem…)
Will Aaron (or any college QB) ever figure out how to throw the fade route pass high enough so that those tall receivers can at least have a chance to jump and catch instead of having the ball underthrown (see, Murray, Garcia, the ND QB, etc)
What stupid call will Bobo make this week – oh, nevermind, we all know the answer to that one…

I don’t know what to expect. If the dogs can bottle up Newton (and that is a very big IF), the possibility is there because we should be able to score on the Auburn defense. I am split between the reality of 5-5 and the realization that we are four last drive turnovers away from 8-1.

Never underestimate the dawgs…everyone wants to forget that Florida had Rainey back against us and no one else this year. Everyone wants to forget about 2006 when a freshman QB went to Auburn and destroyed them, they were ranked #5 and Georgia was not in the top 25. Everyone wants to forget that Auburns secondary is worse than Georgia’s, everyone wants to forget that since Vandy Georgia has scored over 30 points in every game. Everyone wants to forget that Georgia can stop the run…Everyone want to forget Georgia has won 4 in a row, and everyone wants to forget no matter what Cam Newton may be fantastic but even Georgia beat Tim Tebow.

REMEMBER 2006!!!!
The Dawgs have a very, very bad year. Losing to Tenn, Florida, Vandy, Kentucky, while Auburn had only lost to Arkansas and cracked the top 5 in the BCS poll.
Anybody who truly remembers this, knows that UGA went to the Plains and smacked Auburn in the mouth, repetitively, and walked away a 37-15 Victor!!!
So you do NOT have to dig too deep in the record books to find a similar scenario to this season, with an outcome in the Dawgs favor in this rivalry.
You KNOW the Auburn fans are thinking about 2006 this week!

This game shoule be a shootout, as UGA’s offense has been NO joke the last several weeks, and Auburn’s defense has DEFINITELY been a joke all season.
I have ZERO clue what Richt and Grantham will come up with in attempt to stop Auburn, but I was pleased in Richt’s postgame interview this past Saturday when he said his day was only half over, as he was about to meet with his coaches to go over Auburn pre-planning, which he said he never does until Monday.
Dawgs have a “nothing to lose” mentality going in. I like our chances… though they really are just that… “chances”.

thUGA coaches and administrators might want to study the Auburn Creed (copied below) to see how athletes and fans should conduct themselves as most Auburn alumni abide by this:
THE AUBURN CREED
I believe that this is a practical world and that I can count only on what I earn. Therefore, I believe in work, hard work.
I believe in education, which gives me the knowledge to work wisely and trains my mind and my hands to work skillfully.
I believe in honesty and truthfulness, without which I cannot win the respect and confidence of my fellow men.
I believe in a sound mind, in a sound body and a spirit that is not afraid, and in clean sports that develop these qualities.
I believe in obedience to law because it protects the rights of all.
I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all.
I believe in my Country, because it is a land of freedom and because it is my own home, and that I can best serve that country by “doing justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with my God.”
And because Auburn men and women believe in these things, I believe in Auburn and love it.

My favorite game of the year. Let’s go shock the world just like 06 and beat Auburn!
1. Auburn’s defense, especially pass defense stinks.
2. UGA’s margin of vicotry (or rather loss) has got to be the closest of any 5-5 team out there. In other words, nobody has blown us out.
3. Shut down Cam Newton, and you shut down Auburn. Yeh… easier said than done.

Would like to hear a rational Auburn fan’s perspective. Are they writing this game off as an automatic win, and already concentrating on Bama? Do they consider the close history, and the success of the road team? Does 2006 factor in at all?
Thanks in advance for the rational response.
For the record, I think Sanford Drive summed up the rivalry perfectly. It’s very respectful, and the Auburn fans do not seem to have the sore winner mentality that other fanbases do.

My two sons attend Auburn. (One’s in the band.) I have grown to love the University – it reminds me so much of what UGA was when I was a student (1971 – 75). I’ve attended several Tiger games this season – enjoyed ‘em all! Two years ago I showed up at the AUMB rehersal in my finest red and black. When they played “Glory’” I belted out “To HELL with Georgia Tech!” loud and clear! I will be there Saturday, with a package of TP to hit Toomer’s Corner after the game. If we should pull off a miracle, I may be the lone guy tossing TP into the oaks. (I may not last long! My boys promised they wouldn’t join in when the AU loyalists attack me, but they’ll be sure to make sure everyone know I was debasing their tradition!) If Auburn’s Cam Newton is the whole team going to the NFL, what is A.J. Green?
Which team do you suppose will be higher ranked at both the beginning and end of next season?

UGA defense only marginally better than Auburn’s, if at all.
UGA 5-5; Auburn 10-0.
Auburn playing for BCS championship spot; UGA playing for bowl eligibility.
Auburn ranked # 2; UGA unranked.
Everything says Auburn wins.
Conclusion: Take UGA to win outright.

Hey Dawggie, I wouldn’t be talking about “rent a thugs” if I were you. Take a look at the GA Football arrest report before you start talking about other programs. If GA had a shot to get CAM they would have jumped all over it. He has spurned his home state twice and you can’t stand it. The bottom line is GA can’t recruit a top knotch offensive player as long as you have BoBo calling your boring plays.

This is an great and respectful rivalry. I grew up a die hard Auburn fan having season tickets with my family most years. However, I’m UGA Alumnus, and I’m a Dawg. Going to the Auburn/UGA game last year, I honestly didn’t know who I’d be cheering for until the opening kickoff. But once that ball was kicked in the air I knew I was pulling for the Dawgs.
I’m conflicted again this year. After losing to Florida last week, I though it would make it a lot easier to decide about this week’s game. But I’m still unsure. I think I’ll enjoy it either way.
Auburn has an amazing offense that does not stop at Cam Newton. Anyone who doesn’t see that is delusional. They have great receivers, a great O-Line, and one of the best running backs in the nation.
Georgia has a great freshman QB, some very talented receivers, an an O-line that’s finally showing up.
The people above who claim Auburn is going to blow out the Dawgs, I think, are a little misguided. I honestly think UGA can pull this one out, but I don’t know that we will. The Dawgs are going to score some points. This might end up looking like the Auburn/Arkansas game.

Interesting that this piece should point out the long-standing, respectful, series that the Georgia/Auburn rivalry has been. I generally attribute it to the fact that one of the finest gentlemen you could imagine came to Athens back when I was in school and ‘righted the ship’. I’ve thanked Joel Eaves in my prayers more than once over the years for restoring Georgia’s athletic respectability and, most of all, for bringing a young, freshman/quarterbacks coach to Athens – and the rest is history. So I haven’t had a genuinely ‘hateful’ spot in my heart for Auburn for as long as I can remember – oh maybe a couple of years while Tuberville was there, but not many…and as far as I’m concerned the jury’s still out on Coach Cheez-it…we’ll see.
For those that are singing the praises of young Mr. Newton – and well you should – and are saying that he ‘hasn’t done anything wrong’, just remember, if he hadn’t done anything wrong he’d be in his final year at Florida and Auburn would be somewhere in the middle of the SEC West about now. I’m not playing this weekend but I do know that the secret to bringing Newton down is the same way they brought Herschel down – take his pins out from under him – oh yeah, there is one other way, offer him a lap-top for ten cents on the dollar – sorry, that was a cheap shot, but I’ve got to say that Auburn, regardless,, rationalized their way into recruiting Cam after he had demonstrated some rather ‘less than outstanding’ character traits – kinda like Ole Miss did with the lap-top stealing QB from out West some place – what is it about lap-tops with these kids, anyway? So enjoy your time with Newton Auburn. It’ll be over at the end of this season – you’re just a ‘means to an end’…then again, as he and the rest of the quality football players have figured out, so are they – for the schools that is.

I realize this is primarily a Georgia blog – but it’s public – so here are my two cents worth:
You Georgia fans are smoking crack if you think UGA is going to beat Auburn.
Aubrn in 10-0 – this Saturday, Auburn is playing
– to CLINCH the SEC WEST TITLE
– an UNDEFEATED season
– HEISMAN publicity
– BCS ranking
So look for Auburn to keep the gas pedal mashed the entire game – they need to score a lot of points just to keep up with the BCS.
Auburn has shown the can and will win the Big games – and the close games.
UGA – is 5-5
UGA has not won a BIG game all year – and if the game was close – UGA has choked.
UGA lost to Colorodo – probably the worst Big12 team this year.
I do not care about history in this year’s game. UGA ’s best effort all year was the second half againt Florida – even then, they made enough mistakes and was just not good enough to beat the Gators.
Also – look how the Gator QB shredded UGA’s defense running – expect even more out of Cam Newton.
This game has second half blow out written all over it.
Does UGA have a chance? sure – Cam could get hurt.
Will UGA win Staurday – NO WAY
Top of the SEC vs a team that could not beat mediocre and poor B12 teams 2 years in a row.

I’m an UGA fan, but I’m not delusional. Auburn’s O will crush UGA’s defense and Auburn’s stud DL lineman (whose name excapes me) will put enough pressure on AM, resulting in some sacks and likely a few interceptions.

It’s like covering a Kobe Bryant. You know Newton will get his 120 yards a game. Just do not let #5,23 AND 27 all have big games. Let Newton move the ball from 20 to 20 and then try and contain him. Easier said than done, but sanely thinking this UGA defense will shut him down is foolish.

First, I have tremendous respect for Auburn, the University, their Alumni and fans. Over-all they are a class group and just the mere fact that most of them have to live in the same state in Alabama fans garners sympathy (win or lose). Was also watching Auburn’s recruiting, so while I’m surprised they are undefeated, I’m not surprised that they have a very good football team. Have not felt that Georgia would upset any team and like most of my fellow Dawgs will believe they can beat Florida when they do it.
With that said, I believe that Georgia has a good chance of winning this game. Auburn is a very good football team, but their defense (like ours) tends to give up the big play. And say what you want about Georgia, since getting Green back, they have averaged around forty points again. Also realize that alot of those points came against weaker opposition, but so did Auburn’s. And remember, Georgia put 30 up against Florida with four turn overs. The ball has pretty much bounced Auburn’s way this year, while no the case for Georgia. It’s due to ‘flip’.
Georgia 42 Auburn 38 in a great game.

We will beat Tech. Their quarterback (Nesbitt) is out for the year after breaking his arm Thursday and he is the guy that has hurt us lately. If it weren’t for us hurting his knee last year an knocking him out of part of the game, I am afraid Tech would have beaten us again last year.
Nevertheless, we should win that game this year and that will make us bowl eligibel (Even if we lose to Awww-Burn).

Our record doesn’t point to that happen and we don’t have AJG coming back as an added boost. AM and AJG are our only serious playmakers so they had better connect early and often to make this a game. Looking at the games against common opponents, the only Auburn win by more than 7 points was 65-43 over Arkansas. And for uncommon opponents, Auburn beat Clemson by 3 in OT. That should be taken into consideration.
However, I have to pull for the Tigers in this one. They still owe me some satisfaction for the thousands of dollars I spent over 2 years for my daughter to attend a sorority there many years ago. I paid for tuition, too but the results of any academic progress have been a well-kept secret.

UGA has superior defense, kicking game and real good offense. UGA can match Au TD for TD but the kicking game is all UGA. Look for the defense to stand up and smash AU in the mouth.UGA is a top 10 team that has not shined all year. They are due and this week could easily be the time.

Auburn can be beat. Their defense is garbage. One of the worst I have seen for a top team. LSU held them to 24 points so they can be held down. We will be one of the more balanced teams they have faced so far. LSU had a solid defense but bad offense and Arkansas had a great offense but a horrible defense. Turnovers kill Georgia “see the Florida game”. Keys to beating Auburn is winning turnover battle and running the football. Georgia needs to have drives like Matt Ryan and the Falcons had against Tampa Bay. Eight to ten minute drives. Newton can’t beat you with a clip board in his hand. I know people will think I’m crazy but I really feel Georgia will win this game 35-31. A.J. Green will have a 150yds receiving and 2tds and Murray will learn from past mistakes by putting together a complete game.

All you Tech fans on here have no reason to talk about UGA.
You do realise you lost to Kansas…. yes the same Kansas that lost to an FCS school?
The thing is… Tech alumni and fans have lives that don’t depend entirely on what a bunch of kids does on Saturday afternoons. College sports are fun to follow, but the biggest reason for going to college is to get an education.
UGA fans don’t seem to care about anything but football, and they don’t care if their players are enrolled in silly majors that no parents who are paying the bills would send their kids to UGA for. The very few football and basketball players who graduate have no job opportunities and end up unemployed or working in menial jobs that hardly require a college degree.
Georgia Tech is a real school with serious academic standards, and that includes scholarshipped athletes. UGA has a long history of being a party school, where parents send their kids for an easy degree, even if the degree itself is practically worthless.
Jan Kemp exposed the crap going on at UGA with athletes being enrolled in courses a ten-year-old kid could pass. That was almost three decades ago, and nothing has changed. If anything, the abuses are more blatant today. Way too many illiterate morons are being recruited, and the very high arrest rate shows clearly that Richt does not care if his players have any morals or self-discipline.
The bottom line is that most Tech fans have very good jobs and productive lives that don’t depend on Tech’s football record for their happiness in life. It would be great to beat UGA more often, but when you put scholar-athletes up against thug-athletes, it’s usually no contest.
It’s pretty pathetic to see UGA fans who typically have never been within miles of a college classroom and who live or die with UGA’s weekly results on the football field.
So keep on posting your “30-24″ all you want, especially since you’re home with plenty of time on your hands. I wish you well, maybe you’ll get lucky and get your old job back at the Waffle House before your unemployment checks stop coming.
And Yellow Jackets will keep posting here to remind you what a really crappy place UGA is.

If you ask me TCU is the most complete team in the country. Their Defense is far superior to the other BCS teams and their offense is pretty solid too. Last time I checked defense wins championships. Oregon looks great but they were pretty solid last year until OHIO STATES defense shut them down. Alabama won with defense, Florida won with defense, What I’m getting at is Auburn= no defense and Oregon has a mediocre defense. Even Boise State although they have not played the top of comp has a solid defense to go with an explosive offense

I’ve never understood how anyone – even an alumnus – could support and take pride in UGA’s football team. When you look at their history for the past forty years, how can anyone ignore Jan Kemp and the “remedial studies” scam, the Jim Harrick fiasco, the DUIs in the athletic office, the DUIs and other arrests of players, the #1 party school tag (i.e., the most drunk students), the suspensions and outright dismissals, the Fulmer Cup, and on and on?
As disgraceful and humiliating as it is, I don’t see many alums and fans demanding an end to this sordid activity. It sets UGA apart as the kind of school most people abhor, and it’s become an embarrassment to the whole state of Georgia.
Will it never end? Apparently not while Mark Richt is at UGA. Richt is perhaps the biggest hypocrite in the United States. But even with all the cheating and lawlessness that he ignores, he still can’t win the SEC.
So you’re paying him to be BCS champions, but he can’t even win his SEC division. So why do you pay him millions of dollars a year?

Once again lack of defensive talent will be the deciding factor. Grantham does not have the talent nor the coaching ability at this time to stop a mobile QB. But with saying that, as bad as our secondary is Newton shouldnt have to run very much anyway.. Look for Cuff to get burnt numerous times and Rambo to be out of position most of the game. Our only hope is for Houston to have a monster game. But alas Auburn wins 45-21 and yet another nail in the Richt coffin hopefully.

That year we played our most complete game of the season against UGA. Y’all played your guts out but we were just too good that day. I think that will be the same assessment in 2010. Here’s to everyone leaving the field healthy!

Where are all the Bama fans today? I thought they might be on here at least pulling for us. All the halftime reports had them in the national picture getting to #2. That might be hard to do. The SEC East is a disaster this year and win the SECCG with 2 losses over a three loss team won’t help.

Candela Ross,
Who do you think you are? The stuff that happens at UGA happens at every college in the country. UGA just has so many watch dawgs that they have to prosecute someone every time they screw up. Do you really think that the Tenn football team that hospitalized an off duty cop was justified. You do not hear about other schools because it is swept under the table. We punish athletes and kick them out if needed. Other schools pick them up like they are saints. If UGA was a bad school you would never hear about anyone getting in trouble would you? So shut the heck up and get a life.

My hope is that this Saturday will be a repeat of the first game in Athens after many Georgia-Auburn games at Memorial Stadium in Columbus. Auburn was favored and was ready to clinch a victory when All-American Pat Dye recovered a fumble for our Dogs. Francis Tarkenton, our junior quarterback, led the Dogs down the field toward the East endzone. With a few seconds left(12 is my best memory) Tarkenton passed to Bill Herron for the tying touchdown at 13-13. Durwood Pennington kicked the extra point and our Dogs won 14-13 to claim the SEC Championship under Wally Butts and a trip to the 1960 Orange Bowl which was a victory over Missouri.
It was this Georgia grad”s first trip to Sanford Stadium and the day I decided to go to school at Georgia. I was in the seventh grade at St. Elmo School in Columbus.

This game will be closer than people think but Auburn has too much for the Dawgs playing away from home, and will run away in the 4th quarter with a fresh Mike Dyer carrying the load.
Consider that Auburn needs one win between the UGA and UAT games to secure a trip to Atlanta, and beating UGA in Auburn should be their best shot considering the other is Bama in T-town.

Georgia is going to get run over by Auburn on Saturday. We suck in big games. We have not beaten a team with a winning record this year – what an embarassment! We pad our stats against lousy teams. Then we play teams with actual talent we suck. An interception on the 1st play against Florida! Another in OT. Until we get rid of CMR – we will be an average SEC team at best. I have watched us play 3 really big SEC games this year: SC, Arkansas, and Florida – not 1 time in any of those games did we have the lead. Georgia under CMR does not pass the eyeball test – we simply will not be ready to play. I’ll bet anyone out there $500 Auburn will score a TD on their 1st drive and we will go 3 and out or turn it over. Then we will have to listen to CMR say, “we gotta go back to work.” That was the same BS Ray Goff used to say after Georgia got their asses kicked. Fire CMR NOW – or go through this again next year.

Okeefenokee, While I do think Grantham was a good hire, and the defense will be fine eventually, that meteoric rise from 84rd to 23rd is just a 6 ppg difference, or about what our offense use to spot the other team last year. So that’s why it doesn’t feel a lot better to most fans. Better, but also circumstantial. Actually the stats for overall defense has been a better surprise. Considering last year the defense gave up 40 ypg more ON a shorter fields, you can certainly say that’s an improvement.
Weren’t you questioning why anybody would think the team would be any better next year? Is there anyone who doesn’t thinks a new defensive philosophy would make it’s biggest improvement in year 2? I also believe our better talent is in the lower classes right now.

To Auburn: Speaking of the Orange Jerseys, I still remember the 1978 UGA-Auburn game at Jordan-Hare when the Tigers broke out the Orange Jerseys. All UGA had to do was win to go to the Sugar Bowl, but to show how this series has gone over the years, Auburn spoiled it all and both teams played to a 22-22 tie (still back in the days before OT) which paved the way for ‘Bama to play in New Orleans instead. Of course UGA has played the spoiler for many Auburn teams (notably with upset wins in 1986 and 2006), which is why watching this game over the years is so exciting. However, if Auburn happens to win out the rest of this year, go make the SEC proud and make it five in a row for the conference!

I’m not alone in enjoying our UGA attitude. A little swagger, in your face, bad-boy team, lots of celebrations to fire up the home crowd or taunt our enemies. We are UGA and when we get back on top we will stomp on everybody’s faces after we kick their asses. In the meantime we are street fighters and will kick, claw, and rip our way to respectability and fear. We need a little WWE attitude.

Georgia cannot stop Auburn the defense has just not been strong enough in any position.
Murray will need to be alot sharper than the last two weeks and the O-line will need to actually block
and the RB’s run without falling down or fumbling…… UGA will need to score ~50 to win IMO.
Good Luck to my Dawgs!

“Next season the poor guy will be running for his life because our O Line will be even worse.”
How so?
We have 5 of the 7 OL that have been rotating back, including 4 starters. At least 4 underclassmen in waiting that were all higher rated out of highschool than most of the guys that we have now, a couple considered some of the top players at thier positions in the nation. Plus a handfull of other bodies. We will see how they turn out, but as far as pure talent, we are actually upgrading over the next 2 years.
Certainly a second year QB is also going to be able to read the defense better and harder to fool with blitzes, isn’t he?
I’ve certainly been critical of what we have done with the OLine (long before it was the cool thing to do BTW) but to say they are going to be worse next year? Based on what?

I have read and written many comments in both the AJC and ESPN columns. The Auburn creed shared by Ralph earlier hit home for me. I have attended every Auburn home game this year in 2010( my first SEC football games(what a first year line-up!) outside of the SEC Championship) and I will be there this coming Sat for the battle with the Bulldogs. I went to neither school and have for the most part of 30 years in Ga. have rooted for the Dawgs. Not this year, this year I bleed orange and blue, this year I yell War damn Eagle and I have appreciated and enjoyed the kindness of 87,451 Tigers(give or take a couple) at Jordan-Hare. I am Nuts about Auburn and their creed.

@dawggirl-
I like to think of myself as a rational AU fan. First AU/GA game I attended was as an AU freshman. It was a very close AU loss to a Herschel Walker led defending National Champion UGA team. Bo Jackson was just starting his college career at Auburn. Even though AU lost, I can still hear the fans chanting “It’s great to be…an Auburn Tiger! at the end of that game. Been hooked on this rivalry ever since.
I don’t think any seasoned AU fans are overlooking the Dawgs. We know we have a very suspect defense and the UGA combo of Murray and AJ Greene could certainly give us trouble. (Personally, having a weak defense sends me to the antacid counter most every week..just really odd to see an AU team that gives up so many yards and points.)
We have so many players from the state of Georgia that have to listen to their Ga pals when they go home that I don’t think the players are overlooking GA either. This coaching staff and this particular team seem to be able to really focus on the game at hand.
While some of my AU pals that live in ATL would throttle me for saying this, the Dawgs are generally my second favorite SEC team. And I prefer the AU/GA rivalry by leaps and bounds over the ugly rivalry with the team from West AL. Just don’t rush the field if you win…I bet we can still find some hoses

Auburn ran for 440 yards against LSU’s great rushing D. Dyer, McCalebb and Fannin contributed to that, as well as Newton.
A.J. green is good and Murray is learning. South Carolina’s Jefferies and Garcia, LSU’s 2 QB’s with Rueben Randall, Arkansas’ Mallet and Childs, all have lost to Auburn. The Dawgs’ QB/ receiver combo isn’t any better than any of those. Green may be tops, but the other QB’s are better than Murray.
Auburn beat South Carolina, Georgia lost to them
Auburn beat Arkansas, Georgia lost to them
Auburn beat Mississippi State, Georgia lost to them.

Uh, Pat. Auburn’s first team defense left the field in the Chattanooga game after 5 minutes into the second quarter. At that time, Chatt, had 0 points and 63 yards total offense. All Chatt’s points were scored against reserves and walk-on’s. It was Homecoming, everybody played.
Also, South Carolina, LSU, Mississippi State, Arkansas and so forth all have a better defense than UGA.

I am also one who has enjoyed this rivalry over the years. The vast majority of the fan base for each team is respectful and are good sports. Like all other parts of life, there are a few knuckleheads that casue a problem, and that is what we hear about from the media. This weekend, like all GA/AU games, will be fun.
Also remember that, other than the laptop incident (which he was punished for), any other allegations against Cam Newton are just that, allegations. Am I the only one wondering why it has just come up in the last two weeks? If these things were true, why was there no mention of them last year while he was at Junior College? The timing seems odd, and so far, there has been no confirmation. Innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around….sonds like someone is jealous of a 10-0 record!!
