Georgia’s Nov. 13 football game at Auburn will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and be nationally televised on CBS, the network said today.
Georgia has won its past four games against Auburn, but the Tigers, led by Heisman Trophy-contending quarterback Cam Newton, are 9-0 and ranked No. 2 in this week’s BCS standings. Georgia is 4-5.
Auburn’s ranking and record are obviously attractive to CBS. The network, which has the top choice of SEC games each week, chose Auburn-Georgia over the Nov. 13 South Carolina-Florida game, which figures to be for the East’s berth in the SEC championship game. South Carolina-Florida will start at 7:15 p.m. on either ESPN or ESPN2.
Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson will call Georgia-Auburn for CBS, along with sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson.
The game will be Georgia’s second of the season in the 3:30 p.m. ET window on CBS. The first was last Saturday’s 34-31 overtime loss to Florida in Jacksonville.
Both Georgia and Auburn play FCS (formerly Division I-AA) opponents this week — Idaho State and Chattanooga, respectively.
The Georgia-Auburn series is the most-played — and perhaps most competitive — in SEC history. The teams have played 113 times, with Auburn leading the series 53-52-8.

@lance, I agree with you!! I totally love my dawgs but continuing a defeat at the hands of Florida has to stop. I was at the game, left at half time because I didn’t want to hear all the gator fan trash talking. I’m not mad at them, they should be proud but I am upset about our team. I grew up my whole childhood years in Athens loving the dawgs, Vince Dooley kept us in contention or atleast beating the rivals and keeping these long losing streaks away. I really don’t know what to say or what we need to do?? To all the DAWG fans, GO DAWGS!!

single cover AJ (cause they don’t throw to him anyway), roll coverage to Durham…sit back and wait for a few INTs off the hands of those other “receivers”….don’t have to worry about their running game cause when I put the stop watch on those 2 backs they have on their depth chart, it took about 2.5 DAYS for them to hit the hole after the Off line opened up the hole….we should be ok in this one….let me start planning for Bama!

You so-called Georgia fans may be in for a surprise. You forget that the Auburn/Georgia games are always some of the most competitive when one team is nationally ranked.
I am not going to say that GA will win, but it is not going to be a lop-sided score, . . . if they lose at all.
I have no idea what the coaching staff was discussing, when they stated that AJ Green was called in most of the first hald calls, but, the qb was not even looking in his way. If you have a chance to watch the replay, watch which way AJ Green went, and they watch the eyes of Murray. The eyes of Murray and the body of AJ Green went in different directions.
Bobo has got to go. He is the problem. I love the guy, but, the facts are the facts. Bobo has to go.

Listen Dawg fans, CMR aint going nowhere. Accept it. I am not so sure that we should be wanting him to either. I hate the results of the Florida series in the last 20 years as bad as anybody. I hate our record this season. I can tell you.. if we had started the season 4 weeks ago and were sitting here at 3-1 with wins over TN, VANDY, KY, and an overtime loss to FL MOST Dawg fans would be happy. No, we can’t throw away the early losses but, YES we are getting better. CMR will be the coach next season and, barring a repeat of this season, the 2012 season also. You all better hope that he has learned his lesson this season and made changes that will lead to wins in the future. If he had played a kid last Saturday that had threatened to murder his girlfriend, half of you would be up in arms about that (even if we had won.) and the other half would have been okay with it as long as we won. Scooter, speeding, and alcohol violations are not even to be compared to the Rainey situation. CMR would never have played him. CMR is our coach and will be our coach for some time. The best thing we as fans van do is support our kids and help to convince more quality players to come to our school to play. If CMR does not think he can fix it, he will not have to be fired. Based on the last 4 games, I think he has some idea how to fix it. If Florida barely beat us this year, why do you think they will be that much better next season. Looks like we are catching up to them. That’s my two cents worth.

It’ll be another embarrassment for the Dawgs and Grantham led Defense that will play the same soft zone against a really good running QB. Its so mind boggling why this guy (Grantham) is coaching. Richt doesn’t seem to care otherwise we,d see something different, something encouraging to give fans hope but nope, it’ll be the same 4 man front w/o help to stop AU’s running game.
GA could win this game if they play to stop the run. thats going to take more folks on the line of scrimage. I and many GA faithful would be overjoyed to finally see GA’s def play to win and not play so not to lose even if we lose the game.

trhth4u, well said. I agree that CMR should not be fired. There are only a few coaches out there that I would even consider swapping CMR for. Those coaches are as loyal to their schools as Coach Richt is to the kids of GA.
The main thing CMR needs to do this off season is to read the team the riot act, about getting into trouble with the law, or in any way that is close to be deemed a legal matter.
Murray is going to be a great quarterback. It was clear that he was nervous going into this game, but he did come out and play better in the 2nd half. If you heard CMR’s comments at the beginning of the 2nd half, he said about Murray, “we are going to be alright” and he was right, for the 2nd half. Overtime is another discussion.

Just like any every other loss this season, UGA found a way to lose. TE’s letting balls go right through their hands turning into an INT, Cummings trying to pick up a fumble inside the 10 instead of falling on it, Bacari Rambo dropping a potential pick 6 at the end of the 4th quarter. Just like key fumbles in prior games, UGA finds a way to lose any close game. Meanwhile, an inferior UF team’s coach found a way to win. Sorry, I like Richt, but his time is up.

The only other SEC games to put on TV are Bama v Miss St, USC v Florida, Vandy v Kentucky, Ole Miss v Tenn,or La-Monroe v LSU. SO tell me what other SEC game would think they would put on TV besides UGA v Auburn? You know USC v Florida will be at Night and on TV so will Bama v Miss St.

It’s going to be a good game regardless. When AU and UGA play each other you can throw the records out the door, just like when we play Bama during the Iron Bowl.
However, if you contain Cam, it opens up the passing lanes. One one one and Cam runs it up the middle, try to contain cam and cover the receivers and the back have a hayday. Sorry UGA, this is Auburn’s year.

UGA gave up over 200 yards rushing to an average Florida rushing attack. Auburn will have that in the first half and Cam will have 90% of that. Look for this game to be lopsided. Mark Richt does not care anymore. I believe he will resign at the end of the season.

When you are a debatable #1 and you’re playing a pretty talented team with nothing to lose but something to prove, you might be surprised. I love hearing people say Auburn is a one-man team.
Auburn’s THIRD leading rusher has 557 yards this season. Georgia’s LEADING rusher has 563.
Auburn has nine guys with receptions over 20 yards long.
Oh yeah – Auburn has one of the leaders in the nation in sacks and tackles for loss.
Oh yeah – LSU allowed 217 rushing yards to Cameron Newton, but we had other guys run for 223 in that game.
Oh yeah – Ole Miss decided to stuff the Newton rushing game. He only got 45 yards; the rest of the team ran for 300.
You keep overlooking Dyer, McCalebb, Adams, Zachery, Blake and the rest of the boys on offense – Auburn will blow the doors off of that game.

CMR gets an earned pass for this season so he coaches next year. Personally, I think he is finished. I don’t like him anymore as a HC. Too slow to do what everybody in the Dog Nation knows he should do. Too much off-field mess going on. Good coaches get more out of players than this bunch gets. We have to wait one more year to see if he can get another OC and staff and turn it around with a good QB. He has got to get rid of recruiting coaches though in order to get some players that we need. And as I see it, we need some wide-receivers and running backs. But if I had a kid who was a wide receiver – I would not advise him to go to GA. Last Sat AJ had only 12 yards with 6 min left in the game. Nah- my son would not go to GA – not with this OC. Change the OC and maybe we have a chance.

Open letter to Jesse Palmer …
Thank you for saying that Auburn isn’t all that good. You said that Auburn barely beat South Carolina; barely beat Kentucky; barely beat Clemson, gave up 31 to Ole Miss and barely beat what you describe as a highly overrated LSU team.
LSU overrated? They have but one close road loss in the SEC. And we’re into November. Gave up 31 to Ole Miss? Yes, but does it matter that 14 of them came when the game was completely over? Barely beat South Carolina? Yup. Ask Alabama if they would take a close win over South Carolina right now. Barely beat Kentucky? Yup. Ask South Carolina if they would take a close win over Kentucky right now.
Maybe you can’t understand it through all of the mousse and hairspray, but you have just given Auburn some great motivational tools. All the coaches have to do is play your “analysis” for them over and over for the next few weeks and they’ll do nothing but get stronger and better for each game, so that they can prove that this team is for real and ready to play UGA, Alabama and whomever else they may face.
Thank you, Bachelor.

Then we might break the jinx Fla. has on us and win 3 in a row. I had rather see Ga. go 0-7 and beat Fla. than to be 7 and 0 and lose to them. Dont expect to win, not the way this team is coached.
But would like to at least be competitive on the field.
But we will come at in the predictable I, and will have predictable play calling.
And we will play it conservative to protect our fragile team’s mental state.
Unfortunately our program ( Georgia’s) needs a 1,000 lb. enema to get rid of the poisons that have built up from all the bad coaching, lack of fundamental play that surround this program.
A fresh start is called for, and that wont happen in the ugly town on the plains.
Toilet paper will be on tumors corner, or whatever corner that is.

I’m in a mixed marriage- I’m UGA, my husband AU- so I’ve seen what AU has this year at Jordan-Hare and on tv listening to commentary from the AU fans who watch with my husband. Cam is awesome, a rock star to the AU faithful, a great person off the field, but AU does have weaknesses- the secondary and the defense. Yes, they’re getting better thanks to #90 Fairley, but if CMR and CTG would take time to study game films, they can come up with a plan to beat AU or at least play them close. Also, history is on UGA’s side. Many times in this series, UGA has gone into this game ranked high and been beaten by a mediocre AU team and vice versa. Regardless of the game, UGA fans owe themselves a trip to AU just to tailgate. It will bring back good memories of what tailgating used to be like at UGA. The AU fans have giant tvs and grills and tents and coolers on the lawn at Samford Hall, their version of North Campus. Cars and trucks are parked on curbs and anywhere they can find a spot. Police aren’t hunting fans down for open containter violations- I took my beer into Foley Center to use the bathroom and there’s a manned table there for people to put down their drinks while they use the bathroom! The attendants didn’t say anything to the fans picking up their beers and alcohol laden drinks except “War Eagle”.

As long as we continue to play with this pathetic secondary we will continue to lose and give up big plays. Lakatos was supposed to be a good secondary coach. He is either a joke or the the players in the secondary are a huge bust. With a good strength and conditioning program our players would be bigger and faster and also play more physical. The whole coaching staff needs to be revamped of replaced and also the S&C coach also.

Our student athletes need our support more than ever. It’s real easy to be a Dawg fan when things are going well and Matt Stafford and Knowshon Moreno are your starting starting qb and rb. When Rick Pitino was coaching the Celtics and they were going through a losing season he told the Boston media and I quote “Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Robert Parrish aint walking through that door!” People Matt Stafford , Knowshon Moreno, Herschel Walker or Vince Dooley aint walking through that door! Aaron Murray is the real deal but I don’t believe he is being coached properly or is being given the right plays to run. AJ Green one of the best players in the country is on your team and you hardly throw to him until the fourth quarter! I agree the backs need to hit the hole a little more quickly once again that’s up to the rbs coach to point that out to them. The play calling in OT was horrendous! The Gator D could not cover Orson Charles on the previous series and you go for the juggalar on the first play in OT to Kris Durham. Nothing against Kris Durham but wasn’t he coughing blood from a vicious hit just a few series before that. I say all this to say our student athletes are playing hard and they are very talented but they are not being coached properly in my opinion. These kids are being coached by adults who are not getting the job done PERIOD!!! Go to your primetime players early and often against Auburn and I can see a major shakeup in the BCS with Auburn losing. All the Dawg players have my support and believe it or not so do the coaches just get your act together ok GO Dawgs!!!

Dawgette,
I agree on everything you said on the respectful tailgating at Auburn. It is the same type of experience at Mississippi State, Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, and most SEC schools.
RV’s, cars, tents, and people clean up after themselves.
It is a mutual respect between the school administration, its alumni, students, and fans and a wonderful time.
Georgia’s sorry alumni. students, and fans show no respect for their school or campus and despite warnings from the administration, conducted themselved with every home game in the past five .
They will not see anything but noon or one o’ clock games for a very long time.
Nor do they deserve it.

“The New York Post is reporting that Big East officials will meet Tuesday to discuss potential expansion. Among the league’s top targets if it does decide to expand: TCU from the Mountain West Conference.”

I ALWAYS turn down the TV sound and listen to the radio broadcasts. The fun part is that, due to multiple satellite hops/delay devices, the TV is almost always seconds behind the radio so you know from the radio what you’re about to see on TV. It’s like getting 2 instant replays!
I also happen to like our radio team. You KNOW the guys in the both bleed red and black and our new sideline guy gives actual game information instead of homespun off-topic anecdotes or comments that state the obvious. Sure beats what you hear on TV by miles.

Alright, has anyone actually watched Auburn play? They get ridiculed for their D, but their D is actually very good except in the secondary. But they’ve won every game. They beat the snot out of QBs, their monsters up front. A team with a weak secondary and strong D-line is better than the other way. if you can’t run you have to pass and if you can’t pass because you’re running around for life and every time you get hits you want to leave the stadium then you’re going to have significant problems. Advantage Auburn.
Cam Newton, advantage Auburn in more ways than one. He gets a lot of attention which is leaving the #1 RB recruit Dyer and that fast kid free to run 70 yard td’s or at the least massive 8-15 yard runs. You don’t know if Newton will hand it off to the guy running to the flat, pass it, run up the middle like a massive massive power back, run around the opposite edge or sort of run it and then pass it. You cannot load the box. You have to cover man for man out there and then that leaves Newton to kill you.
So what that means is Auburn has more talent in more positions than UGA. They’re loaded and we’re lucky for years we’ve had their number because they lacked a QB. That’s it. Now they’ve gotten one and yes their D is not what it normally is but where it matters their D is scary.
I predict this will look the same as Ole Miss and Auburn. Everyone saying it will be close, the final score showing it never was even close and we’re lucky of Aaron Murray still remembers his social security number by the end of the game. I doubt it.
I’m sure the UGA coaches will be dreaming up a bunch of schemes for Auburn to catch them off guard but something tells me they’re going to spend more time talking about Grantham and coming apart at the seams.
Game is over in the 2nd quarter, Auburn wins and heads to one hell of an Iron Bowl and I’m glad I’m not one of those two teams.

Also, Auburn’s O-line is all seniors and is very good. There is more than meets the eyes and don’t look back to the beginning of the season and think that’s the same team. This is a team peaking. UGA is not even if we win 87-3 this weekend. The UF team we lost to sucks. They were not #2 in the country.
Auburn is. They beat three teams already that we lost to. OPEN YOUR EYES DAWG FANS AND GET READY FOR THE NEW NORMAL IF WE KEEP RICHT BECAUSE HE’S A DAWG! ROOF! ROOF! ROOF!. GMAB.

Come on DAWG fans, if we win 1 or 2 more games this year, it just prolongs the agony, CMR will NEVER win us a NC at UGA, if you are satisfied with 9 maybe 10 wins a year, I am not!!! CMR needs to go NOW!!!!

Fall on either of the two fumbles instead of trying to run with them and we win. Selfish play shows it’s ugly head yet again. Florida played 3 different QBs and beat us.
We are facing a bigger, faster, better passer version of Tebow. We are screwed.

Chris Peterson is going to get tired of being passed over at Boise St. Dan Mullen is going to realize he is only going to be able to accomplish so much at Miss St. I’d take either one of them immediately.

Richt could make a strong argument that he is turning the program around with a solid upset against Auburn.
But it’s just not in the cards.
Auburn has the best Offense we will have faced this season (that includes Arkansas) and will put 50 points on the board.
