Georgia’s Nov. 13 football game at Auburn will kick off at 3:30 p.m. and be nationally televised on CBS, the network said today.
Georgia has won its past four games against Auburn, but the Tigers, led by Heisman Trophy-contending quarterback Cam Newton, are 9-0 and ranked No. 2 in this week’s BCS standings. Georgia is 4-5.
Auburn’s ranking and record are obviously attractive to CBS. The network, which has the top choice of SEC games each week, chose Auburn-Georgia over the Nov. 13 South Carolina-Florida game, which figures to be for the East’s berth in the SEC championship game. South Carolina-Florida will start at 7:15 p.m. on either ESPN or ESPN2.
Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson will call Georgia-Auburn for CBS, along with sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson.
The game will be Georgia’s second of the season in the 3:30 p.m. ET window on CBS. The first was last Saturday’s 34-31 overtime loss to Florida in Jacksonville.
Both Georgia and Auburn play FCS (formerly Division I-AA) opponents this week — Idaho State and Chattanooga, respectively.
The Georgia-Auburn series is the most-played — and perhaps most competitive — in SEC history. The teams have played 113 times, with Auburn leading the series 53-52-8.

As long as we continue to play with this pathetic secondary we will continue to lose and give up big plays. Lakatos was supposed to be a good secondary coach. He is either a joke or the the players in the secondary are a huge bust. With a good strength and conditioning program our players would be bigger and faster and also play more physical. The whole coaching staff needs to be revamped of replaced and also the S&C coach also.

National TV again? O, God — not another embarassment! I’m thinking seriously about sending all my UGA T-shirts, caps, etc. to the AD to give to someone who gives a rip– I don’t need them anymore. I’m done.

Why would CBS take a game that is going to be a blow out over a top 10 team vs a top 20 team?
This is a joke, and we will get embarrassed again on National Television….enough embarrassement for one year.
This is not going to help recruiting , get that out of your head.

Our student athletes need our support more than ever. It’s real easy to be a Dawg fan when things are going well and Matt Stafford and Knowshon Moreno are your starting starting qb and rb. When Rick Pitino was coaching the Celtics and they were going through a losing season he told the Boston media and I quote “Larry Bird, Kevin McHale, and Robert Parrish aint walking through that door!” People Matt Stafford , Knowshon Moreno, Herschel Walker or Vince Dooley aint walking through that door! Aaron Murray is the real deal but I don’t believe he is being coached properly or is being given the right plays to run. AJ Green one of the best players in the country is on your team and you hardly throw to him until the fourth quarter! I agree the backs need to hit the hole a little more quickly once again that’s up to the rbs coach to point that out to them. The play calling in OT was horrendous! The Gator D could not cover Orson Charles on the previous series and you go for the juggalar on the first play in OT to Kris Durham. Nothing against Kris Durham but wasn’t he coughing blood from a vicious hit just a few series before that. I say all this to say our student athletes are playing hard and they are very talented but they are not being coached properly in my opinion. These kids are being coached by adults who are not getting the job done PERIOD!!! Go to your primetime players early and often against Auburn and I can see a major shakeup in the BCS with Auburn losing. All the Dawg players have my support and believe it or not so do the coaches just get your act together ok GO Dawgs!!!

UGAs loss to Florida means nothing to me. This game will be close and I fear UGAs ability to throw all over our D and could be the team that can finally keep up with Cam and Company in a score fest. This game surely rests on our D to have a win or loose performance. Good luck, we’re both gonna need it.

Dawgette,
I agree on everything you said on the respectful tailgating at Auburn. It is the same type of experience at Mississippi State, Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, and most SEC schools.
RV’s, cars, tents, and people clean up after themselves.
It is a mutual respect between the school administration, its alumni, students, and fans and a wonderful time.
Georgia’s sorry alumni. students, and fans show no respect for their school or campus and despite warnings from the administration, conducted themselved with every home game in the past five .
They will not see anything but noon or one o’ clock games for a very long time.
Nor do they deserve it.

I tailgated on your campus last year in front of your library and it was sad, disgusting, and an embarrassment to your school.
I can see why Georgia will see nothing but noon or one o’ clock games for a very long time. They are not mature enough to handle it nor do they deserve it.
I just hope your fans don’t come to our place and ruin it for us.

Here we go! Conference realignment!
“The New York Post is reporting that Big East officials will meet Tuesday to discuss potential expansion. Among the league’s top targets if it does decide to expand: TCU from the Mountain West Conference.”
Dallas-Ft. Worth is a non-stop from New York, so that qualifies it for being in the East, I guess.

You people crack me up acting like this game is already over. Have you ever heard of an upset? Have you seen about 100 this year? Did UGA not win at Auburn when Auburn was in the top 5 in 2006 with a freshman QB? I believe so. Auburn has one of the worst defenses I have ever seen. Even if they do beat UGA, there is no way they win at Bama. UGA 38 AU 35.

And furthermore, Auburn IS a one man team. They have almost all of the same players as they did last year and they were not very good at all last year. Newton comes in and they are suddenly good. Hmmmmm. Will be funny to see how bad Auburn is again when Cammy the thug is gone.

Auburn Offense – Defense: 43.98 – 22.48
Georgia Offense – Defense: 35.00 – 19.21
Auburn would be expected to yield 22.48 points against an average FBS team.

Auburn has not had impressive wins every week. They definitely can be beat. That said, this year is shot for me. Said before FLA, if they beat FLA & Tech, wouldn’t complain about this year. Now just hope they can keep cons. bowl game streak going.
