Opening comments:
“It was a very good game. I’m sure the fans [watching] on TV enjoyed it. The television people probably loved it. It was that kind of game. But it certainly didn’t end the way we wanted it to. I want to give Florida credit. They did a good job of getting prepared and doing the things they needed to do to win the game. I want to give our guys credit, too. I thought they fought valiantly. I don’t think anyone can question their effort or question their competitive spirit. It was just one of those games someone had to lose, and unfortunately it was us. I’m proud of the players and the coaches and our fans and the band and everyone else. It was a great effort by their guys and by ours too. And in the end they won. You’ve got to give their punter Chas Henry credit –- a guy who’s been a punter by trade was kind of thrown into the fire as the field-goal guy and was able to make a big kick.
On Aaron Murray’s play in the first half, when he threw two interceptions and lost a fumble:
“I know this game was very meaningful to him. I don’t think he was approaching it any different. I don’t know if once the thing started he had some different feelings inside of him, but I thought the guy really played pretty well. The first pick –- he threw the ball where it was supposed to go. … [Cornerback Janoris Jenkins] took a chance and made the play. But I can’t sit here and say Murray did anything wrong on that play. The second interception –- I thought the ball was probably catchable. And of course he got hit and fumbled, and he’s got to do a better job of hanging on to that ball.… The point I’m making is … I don’t think he was making mistakes out of immaturity or because he’s a first-year starter or anything like that. Sometimes those things happen, and you have to decide how you’re going to rebound from it. And he rebounded extremely well. The whole team did. I told the team at halftime, ‘This is one of those games where I can promise you if you treat it like it’s 0-0 and start from scratch again and play hard on both sides of the ball, we’ll get back in this thing and win it.’ And we almost did.”
On the interception Murray threw in overtime:
“… On third down you are trying to get in position to score a touchdown because you know a field goal might not be what it takes. When you are in those situations, you just have to play ball, and they got some pressure and the ball got tipped up in the air and got picked.”
On what he said to the team after the game:
“I talked to them about deciding how they are going to react to this thing. There have been some tough losses this season, no doubt, and we have had some very big disappointments. We were going in the right direction and getting a lot of momentum and actually getting back in the SEC Eastern Division race. A victory here could have put us in a position to be in Atlanta [for the SEC championship game].”
On what now:
“Just keep fighting. Keep grinding. Show up to work. Be a grown man and do your job. And enjoy it. We’ll come back home; we’ll get back to work, play Idaho State, play as hard as we can for the Georgia people; and then we’ll hook it up the next week.”
On bowl eligibility as motivation:
“I’m sure that conversation will come up. What do we have to win, two out of three? I’m sure we’ll be fighting hard for that.”
On how to turn around the Florida series:
“Win a game like this, but we didn’t do it. We’ll be back.”
More reaction to the game:
From UGA locker room: ‘My worst nightmare,’ Murray says of OT interception.
From Florida locker room: ‘I almost burst into tears after the game,’ linebacker says.

I have no doubt bulldog nation will demand to be in the top 10 after they score 50 at home against Idaho state. And after they remain in a 0-0 tie at auburn with 14:32 left in the first quarter the clowns will begin to calculate possible scenarios for uga to win the SEC east. In times like these I really appreciate uga fans. Laughter really is the best

We’re going to stick to our game plan no matter what. We will not make any adjustments. We will not come up with anything new for Florida or anyone else. We will get the ball to A.J. Green no matter what. We will not play smart and we will not waiver from our predictability.
We won’t go with what is working but will keep doing what is not working. We will not call time out on third down with the game on the line. We will not win against Florida or any other upper tier team. We will sit home during the holidays and not even get a bowl bid.
We will make excuses and compliment the band and fans. We won’t take the bull by the horns and say we were beaten by a “very poor Florida team”. We will keep throwing into their strongest element (their secondary) and we won’t keep running into their weakest element (defensive line). We will take a loss and consider a close loss a moral victory.
I know it’s time for Bobo to go and I am not so sure that Richt can carry Georgia anymore.
This season with five … yes five … five losses should never happen to a talent rich program like UGA. It’s got to be the coaching.

clearly… our new AD will need to make a complete evaluation of the football program from top to bottom to determine where we are as a program.
the state of georgia is fourth in the nation in developing high school football players for ncaa schools.
yet, we are being out recruited in our own state for the last few years and it is being reflected in recent years moving from the top of the SEC to now the middle with the kentucky’s,vandy and other middle- low end schools of the confernece.
the excuses continue from athens ,but nothing ever changes ,but now the school must really determine where we are as program without the colored glasses and it must begin soon or we will be at the same place next year if we don’t.

If Bama lost 18 out of 21 to Auburn there would be 5 head coaches fired and somebody
would try to dug up Bear Bryant to end the streak. It is time for Georgia to hire a coach
to clean up the mess in Athens and kick the gators in the teeth just like Saban and

As soon as you get a coach with some fire and backbone to control the rif-raf, and as soon as you some how, figure how to make the fans remain sober, and as soon as you keep them from trashing every place the go, including their own place, law and order will be restored and you might win more games. How does a team act when ALOT of their team mates are on probation,or have been in jail etc etc

How about Gary Patterson or Chris Peterson. Either one of those guys would be a huge upgrade over what we have now. Those kids weren’t prepared and it showed on the football field. They don’t have that finish attitude that a football team HAS to have. Play calling was horrific and execution was just as bad! McGarity needs to make a change! UGA will never return to the National Championship front until they can beat UF on a consistent basis. Period!! There is no way around it! Any chance UGA has a NC runs right through Jacksonville!! Mark Richt should be commended….no one can do less with more talent on an annual basis than he can. Of course, those before him (Donnan, Goff) did the same thing. It is amazing to watch…did AJ Green even suit up until the 4th quarter? How do you have a 4-5 team with the type of talented depth that UGA has?

Coaches can’t correct mistakes, no learning from past errors.
Why didn’t we run the ball?
Richt’s won 100% of the florida-Georgia games when he gets a 100 yard rusher.

What a great game! What now for UGA because each year it seems to be the same story where it will be a promising season and then lose to Fla. Ga fans cannot be content with this crappy play each year. Did CMR act mad at all after the game or did he just slink off the stage.

Why are UGA fans complaining about Richt’s record against Florida? He is 2-8 against them and the previous coaches were 1-10. Even if he loses next year (and he will be there next year) he will have doubled the number of wins. Things are headed in the right direction. I’ll bet UGA wins 3 of the next 11 after next year.

He did a great job in making this years game exciting and keeping UGA fans in their seats beyond the 3rd quarter. Hopefully he will still be your coach years from now when Urban gets the win to put UF ahead in the all time series win column.

Meyer should be proud…he let a kid that threatened to KILL HIS GIRLFRIEND and got arrested for it to play because he needed the win. Yea, sure the girlfriend said later she didn’t want him to be prosecuted. But isn’t that what so many abused or battered women say too often when the cops come.
Yes, UGA has had its share of arrests…for suspended license, leaving the scene of an accident, and other for the most part harmless offenses. But Meyer lets kids like Rainey slide.
So congrats UF!! Your felons and your immoral coach has won another one. All UF fans should be proud…
Now, let the UF fans garbage return comments begin…but you know I’m right.

That has to be the worst play calling in overtime of any team in the last 10 years. This was a set up for another interception or a long field goal. The reason UGA cannot beat average teams is due to the play calling . . . wake up coaches!

LOL Most of these quotes are funny. But I think our boys played pretty good, besides the turnovers on offense. They showed a lot of heart and fight. Losin to the gayturds does suck, but I think we’ll bounce back. And Rich is a good coach i thought u could see the players play hard for him yesterday. Damn good game except the end.Go DAWGS!!

When the television announcers are questioning UGA’s play calling as to why aren’t they using A.J.Green, you know somethings wrong. And they mentioned this several times. A.J. Green is a weapon and a game changer, and he did absolutly nothing in the first half. ! Really good play calling there coaches.

If Richt truly thinks those 3 interceptions and the 32 yard fumble by Murray were “good plays” he needs to go. Those were bad plays. Bad play calls. Poor judgment. Immature, inexperienced.

Both teams played well enough to win, although at times it was pretty. But you can’t say it was
for lack of efford—–both teams gave it their all. I would have been more than happy for it to end in
tie. Even though these aren’t the best two teams from either school, they played one of the best
Florida-Georgia games ever.

Guys: this was a beauty contest in a pig troth. Why did UF win?
Chris “Time to Die _itch” had 241 yards. No felon no win (but we reached a plea with a Gaineesville DA-blah blah blah).
Bottom line—neither team is very good. Even with the player that would have definitely helped them beat LSU and MSU, we almost pulled it out besides our mistakes.
UF’s Future: Tim Tebow is not coming back and neither is a dominating UF Team. Most of the last 21 years have been blow-outs. Those days are over. I have been to all but 2 of the last 41 years.
—We will be evening things out.
—Dominating-probably not
—-Being dominated-those years are over
Mark Richt is not going anywhere after this season. No matter what happens the rest of the season, as a UGA alumni I support Mark Richt. His record is better than Dooley or any of the other “greats” in our program history. Overall we are very young and we are going to be better next year. I love my Dawgs and I support them through thick and thin.
