JACKSONVILLE – A few comments from the Georgia side after the loss to Florida:
Quarterback Aaron Murray on throwing an interception in OT: “It was my worst nightmare, especially to know that my team had worked so hard to come back. I tried to get it out before [A.J. Green] made his cut, and I threw it a little bit behind him. . . . At first I thought the tip [by Florida linebacker Jelani Jenkins] would just put it on the ground. But Florida has great athletes, and if there’s a tipped ball still in the air, they’ll find a way to come up with it.”
Murray on Georgia’s comeback from a 21-7 halftime deficit: “We fought our butts off all game. A lot of teams would go into halftime in a game like this and give up, but not this team. It wasn’t the way I wanted us to start the game with an interception, and I thought the whole first half was rocky. But we bounced back and finished strong. You have to be accurate when you play this athletic of a team. I had a little jitters, and I was probably more amped up than most games, but I won’t make any excuses.”
Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo on the Bulldogs’ four turnovers: “You just can’t turn it over. It kills momentum. It gives them an extra series, an extra shot at plays. You can’t do that and expect to win.”
Bobo on Florida containing A.J. Green: “They play a defense where they’re going to have an extremely high safety. We called a lot of things for A.J. that just ended up going to other guys, and the tight ends benefited from that, and so did Tavarres King and Kris Durham.”
Outside linebacker Justin Houston: “One thing about this team I like is that we always fight hard, but a big situation for us today was losing the turnover battle. It’s hard to win a game when that happens. I thought the defense looked good at times, but we have got to learn to play all 60 minutes.”

It’s alright, Aaron. A lot of young QBs make mistakes in games like these. He is the reason we even came back in this game and had a chance to win.

Florida took criticism for keeping Chris Rainey on the team, despite a legal issue with a girlfriend. The junior from Lakeland paid a huge price — missing five games. He was finally allowed to play again in Saturday’s 34-31 overtime win against Georgia. He ran for 84 yards on 16 attempts and made an obvious difference for a team that was struggling offensively.
Afterward, he stood in front of the team and gave an emotional speech.
“Chris is a great person,” UF center and close friend Mike Pouncey said. “He thanked the whole administration, (Athletic Director) Jeremy Foley, the president (Bernie Machen). And he thanked God as well for giving him a second chance. He thanked everybody for giving him a second chance. And without Jeremy Foley and President Machen, it wouldn’t be possible for him to play right now.
“I actually cried after the game because I felt every bit of his pain because I know Rainey, he’s a great person. He’s never been in any kind of trouble and for him to miss … all those games, I know it hurt him to his heart and it hurt me too.”

Murray threw a ton of picks against Florida
three very different players- same results

Wow!!! Somewhere some running back is changing his mind about coming to Georgia. Somehow, someway the running game has to be included into the offense to win a game like this. It has to be changed early in the game and mixed with the passing game effectively. In overtime you just cannot at least give you all american kicker a chance at least for a fg. You cannot turn it over anytime much less in OT. FSU lost in an OT game to Louisville years ago because they threw an int on the first play then Louisville busted a run for the win on the first play….Great running backs will tend to shy away from UGA if this philosophy does not change. Coaches just cannot put the team in a position as they did in OT especially after the way those players worked to get back into the game. If fans can tell that the offense is going to run a pass, I feel sure Meyer and staff anf all the work they have done in the past two weeks noted that UGA was going to pass on the first play of the game and also in OT. OT play calling killed us.

Quarterback scrambles and forgets that coaches tell him to get rid of the ball when there is no play and fumbles the football. Coaches fault?
Quarterback throws to tightend and ball tips off his hand to a defender resulting in interception. Coaches fault?
Quarterback throws to #1 receiver but defender tips the ball first and lands in another defender’s hand. Coaches fault?
Florida fumbles ball twice and twice Georgia defenders could not hold on to balls. Coaches fault?
Georgia wins, coaches called a good game? Georgia lost so coaches are to blame? Did they make the above mistakes?

Yes, by calling a pass play when the running game was working. UF’s defense gambled because UG’s offense is predictable. The RB whiffed his block on the blitz. Murray had no chance to get rid of the ball. I can promise you if you look back over the games a defensive coach and a coach with Meyers’ experience can pick up the tendencies. Bobo is read like a book.

Agreed. Bobo’s playcalling has always been predictable and needs to change but when a quarterback reads a blitz, be ready to get rid of the ball or secure it if you are getting sacked. Subtract those turnovers above or Georgia defenders recover those fumbles and Georgia wins.

Too many missed opportunities in the first half. Actually thought Bobo called one of his better games but players just couldn’t execute. Some situations early where probably should have stayed with the run a bit longer but all up, a decent game plan where turnovers ultimately bit us vs the play calling.
This one really hurts yet our guys showed heart by what they did in the second half. I remain encouraged by what I’ve seen from Murray despite today’s performance (last int, the fumble, and the missed fly route to Durham in 1st half were killers) and think he brings UGA back in this series to finish his career 3-1 against uf.

Great game for the Dawgs. Too many turnovers and we are still out of position on defense. The ILB have to play better on the inside running plays and the short passes. Murray is young but, he still had a great game. He will learn from this game. Tough loss but, we look better every game. The offense and the defense needs to play faster. Speed the offense up to keep the defense off balanced. We missed a lot of open WR in the first quarter and should have put up at least 14 points. This one is over and let’s get focused for the next game. We can really make a big splash against Auburn but, we will need a spy for Newton the whole game. We cannot continue to let WRs get behind the defense and we still have to tackle better. I liked the defensive pressure in the first quarter but, I think we need that the whole game with the bad play of the secondary. Secondary must become more physical and have to stay in position and must learn to do a better job on reading the offense.

Coaches fault for running ball on 2nd down!!! We always run it on 2nd and 10!! Always go check the games!! Habit of Bobo!! Puts us in 3rd and long!! Look at when the turnovers happen!! 3rd and long!! Its coaching!!! Don’t give me bull about wait till we recruit the players for Grantham!!! Its easier to change coaching to fit players instead of changing 11 players to fit your coaching. Look at Miss. State there defense is in their 1st year and look how many points they give up!!! Richt is to blame for that hire also he could have hired somebody that could adjust to players instead of content to run a certain defense. Too many times we come out flat ever since Richt has been here!! To much talent on this team!!! Bobo can’t find enough ways to get the ball to your all American. Its coaching just ask Meyer he found a way to get his playmakers the ball he put them in at rb and qb. People Richt has 2 go we will never get over the hump with him!! I like Richt but he can’t make the tough descions and has no aggressive bone in his body!!!

It was a very good game. Didn’t UF make a mistake or two as well? Overall UF does have better athletes. UGA has to recruit better and get better on the D. Murray will be a GREAT OB at UGA. Was a lot like last week, except UGA was on the wrong side of the turnovers. This game could have been a UF blowout if not for the character shown by the players and the coaches. Believe we have a chance to win two more games, but I think Auburn will score as many points as they need to win. Hoping for 6 and 6.

Why did Murray throw into the middle of the field in Over-time? Quadruple defensive coverage—who does he think he is–Brett Favre? Was no one else open? No one else in one on one coverage? Could he have not thrown it to a checkdown receiver? Why did he wait so long to get the play snapped? Lost his poise.

Anyone expecting anything more than a second tier program with this brain trust is deluded. Accept mediocrity
Love that call to go for 2 when we were down 21-16 – – almost as good as going for it on 4th and two on our own 30 yard line in the second quarter against Arkansas when we were down by 7. RETARDS

Georgia should be the premier team in the SEC year-in and year-out. Atlanta is the largest city in the south and it is less than 60 miles from the UGA campus. Kids leave the state because they want to win and Georgia doesn’t win. They don’t win because they don’t have the type of coach that wins, Spurrier, Holtz, Parcel, Saban. Until the school brings in the kind of coach that kids respect and fear, they won’t ascend to the top.

For those that call Murray out!!! Ya’ll must not have watched the game!! He brought us back even after we stunk up the 1st half!!! Yea he made some mistakes but I have never seen a qb yet not make a few mistakes!!! The problem is play calling plain and simple!! If u throw on 1st down u throw on 2nd down to stay out of 3rd and long. He just tried to make a play!!! Why was Green not running a go route why was he running over the middle on 3rd down? How come we always run it on 2nd and 10?? Because we are too PREDICTABLE!!! Just watch the games all year!!! Does anybody think we would not have gave up a Touchdown if Florida knew they needed 1!!! We Either sack the qb or someone compltes the pass!!! That is why Murray tried to and had to throw it too try to make a play!!!!

After a very bad first half the team came back and played a good game. This game had the makings of the two in 09 and 08 but the coaches were able to get the team prepared for the second half and in my opinion, did an excellent job. You cannot beat anyone with four turnovers and no one feels worse about the turnovers than Murray. UGA will be back, just will take some time and a few more recruits on the D.

So predictable…fans of Mason or Logan just waiting to tear Murray down. Murray is a winner, a leader, and a true talent…he’s also a red-shirt freshman. It was obvious that he came out nervous and was off. He made a HUGE mistake by fumbling while being sacked. He also had 313 yds passing, 3 touchdowns, and ran for the 2 pt conversion. He certainly had his mistakes that put us in the hole, but he also made plays that allowed us to rally back. This loss definitely stings, but use it as a soapbox to get Murray replaced is PATHETIC!!!

Agree with all who are saying the offense is too predictable. It’s been like that since Bobo took the OC position. There needs to be more wrinkles in this offense or bring in someone who has more imagination. But until then, we’ll have to settle with this predictable offense. Yesterday’s playcalling was overall no different from the past three that Georgia won. But if you look at the last three games compared to yesterday’s game, there were no turnovers. That was the difference.

Murray was not the problem yesterday. The fumble was a bad play…the first one was on Bobo. The whole stadium and viewing audience knew it was going to Green. The others were all tipped balls.
The defense trying to make a SportsCenter highlight by scooping and scoring cost us more than anything. TWICE they had fumbles in their hands and dropped it trying to run instead of diving on it. Terrible. A closer TO margin an the effort the boys brought yesterday wins the game.
Hats off to Richt for letting them play in UGA uniforms.
That being said…this has gotten totally out of hand. Adams got his wish: The World’s Largest Outdoor Coctail Party has become The Yet Another Embarassing Loss for Georgia Party.

I love the dawgs and pull for them in every game, except the Ga-Fl game. Most of my family went to UGA…none went to UF. I have been to more UGA games the last 20 years than UF games. I grew up in Jax in the Spurrier era (enough said) and my son grew up in the Butler era (yes, my son went to UGA).
The game last night could not hve been any closer. Not suprising, mistakes were made by both teams, which is why they are both unranked. The coaches knew this, which is why they have said all along.
Mark Richt is a first class person and a very good coach. He is surrounded by a lot of new coaches and young players, like Florida is right now. It is nonsense for there to be any talk about firing either coach.

Murray was too amped up, he had family & friends from Tampa in – Like someone else said – He was trying to make every play a big one and forcing it too much instead of being safe and smart. He almost won the game, but unfortunately the loss is mostly his. Same thing happened to Matt Ryan when he went back to Philly a few weeks ago.
Murray’s young and smart, will learn and will win in JAX one day.

Richt was notified at his hairdresser and said UGA was a good dag but must have not been real healthy. He left us after one game. Imagine he didn`t have it in him for the Auburn beatdaown.

The thing that needs to change in the UGA-UF series is the timing of our week off. We’ve had 8 rough weeks in a row. They’re rested. Going back to the 70s, the team with the week off before this game always wins. In the 70s and 80s, we always had a week off, while Auburn played Florida. Then we got the Gators when they were tired and we were rested.
Right now we have our off week the week before Tech, and I understand why. But I wish it was before UF so we could compete on level terms. If the Gators don’t have that week off, we win.
Anyone who has ever played in this conference knows how hard it is physically and emotionally to have a good week of practice when you’re dragging. Even Saban can’t do anything about getting his kids back to normal after a rough game.

Im not as complacent as other Georgia Fans here on the board are. 4 turnovers to Florida’s 1. Whats its now like 16 turnovers in last 11 games we played Florida compared to their 2. Bobo’s play calling again was sub par at best. We have been jinxed or a hex put on us going down there. Aaron Murray played his worst game to date maybe it was because he was back in Florida infront of family and friends and was uptight. He threw 1 pass to A.J. Green before the half and i gotta tell ya there were bunches of plays A.J. got open but Murray never looked his way. Florida didnt take Green out of the game Bobo did. That contributed to our demise then Georgia’s black defense couldnt stop the friggin run. Georgia Tech has a similar offense. Guys on defense dont play as a unit each one is for theirselves and thats evident on them trying to pick the ball up and run with it instead of falling down on the ball. Bad tackling, missed assignments, no pressure on the QB their lucky it wasnt 600 yds.
We need more white players on defense yeah sounds racial but so what. Blacks are better all around athletically but arent as smart or better fundamentally as the white athlete. White ball players arent as selfish and self centered as black players are and would rather win for the team than gain personal attention. If there were white players on defense they would have learned their assignments faster.
White players are better tacklers and are more intelligent as to where they should be on the field and if there was a fumble they would have layed on the ball instead of picking it up. If youve noticed on the field most penalties are called on the black player than the white player.
Offsides, holding, personal foul, flagrant fouls mind you. Yeah i agree the black player is the better athlete as an individual but not as a team player.
Recruit more white players there at Georgia and you’ll get better results and there wont be as many in trouble with the law. Im only given my point of view and call it as i see it. Grantham will have to be more patient teaching those players how to line up on defense than he would if there were white players on D.

I have been a life long UGA fan and it is just smoke and mirrors as to why we think we are a top notch program. It’s not the coaches because they attract talent by way of preparing for the NFL. The pro-style offense has to go. It’s to predictable and Coach Bobo who is a fine coach is not a premier offensive coordinator.
As I watch this game, I came to the conclusion that the Georgia Bulldogs have outstanding players, but the coaching has no imagination and creativity.
I blame this on Coach Richt and his inability to move in a different direction if something is not working. He refuses to look at teams who are winning and gather something from them that may fit the Georgia players.
How is it that every team we play can run the wildcat formation and spread offense and sprinkle a little bit of their teams fastest players
in the mix to create outstanding plays but our fastest players sit on the sideline?
For me it’s past the the Georgia vs Florida series, it’s about understanding what it means to be a Georgia Bulldog. Coach Richt on the sidelines and in team press meetings remind me of someone who is trying to keep a pay-check.
I don’t see the passion in him and although I’m a Coach Richt fan, he’s done as a sucessfull head Coach.
I hope our committments stay with Georgia. Go Dawgs and best of luck with the remainder of the season. Murray thank you for your effort and to your teammates we are are proud of you. Thanks to all of you for coming to Georgia. I wish the coaching staff the best but at season’s end either Bobo must go or both Coach Richt and Bobo must go. Gotta have a featured back and give him the ball 25 times / game. If you can’t do that, you can’t win. Murray’s fumble was the ball game. Oughta be good next year. Worst season since 1979 — and we all know what happened the next year!

You just lost to the worst Florida team in 50 years. Unbelievable!!!! 18 out of 21; how pathetic. I predicted you would lose 6 games this year and now that is a given. You couldn’t even make it back to Shreveport if the SEC still had that bowl as a tie in this year. Enjoy watching all the bowl games includiing TECH this year from your living rooms. LMAO

3-18. You need to root for Florida. I’m rooting for the Dawgs, and that includes the coaches. If you don’t like the Dawgs, go elsewhere. I’ve been a Dawg for over 50 years. I was there when the folks like you wanted to fire Dooley. I stood by him. Coach Richt is a very good football coach and I’m standing by him just like I did Coach Dooley. As a former coach myself, I know the pain the players and coaches are going through today. Believe me when I say they are much more upset about this than you are. They need our support. I think they have the support of all good Dawg fans.

I’m not gonna lay blame on coaches or players – but the bottom line is the dawgs score 31 points….and lose. With the turnovers the still score 31. I listen to a certain fella on the radio in Athens harping on how UGA isn’t getting the players….I couldn’t disagree more. A simple eyeball test of these monsters in our uniforms is al you need. You can’t tell me these highly rated recruiting classes would struggle this bad consistently in other programs – I just don’t believe it. And they struggle most when the game is on the line. The problem as I see it is the HUGE momentum changing plays. To me – most of the time its one blown defensive assignment that leads to a long td, or another play action call when everybody in the stadium knows we are going to run playaction that turns into a huge sack or even a sack/fumble. Or a loose ball is in our players hands – fumble or interception that should have been ours. Worst of all – zero ability to stop the other team when you have to (South Carolina, Arkansas, Colorado, Miss State and Florida scored to either win the game or take the lead late) and this has been going on for a few years. How do you fix these things? This seems like a much larger issue than playcalling or defensive strategy. This is starting to look like a culture hes been bred where nobody – coach or player – is held accountable for anything. Thoughts?

Proud of the way the guys fought back into the game. That is something we might not have the past few years when playing florida! I think regardless of his shaky game, Murray is going to lead us to a few big victories over those brantley/burton led gaytors. I am still supporting CMR as the head coach, but i do think blobo needs to get outta there, his playcalling stinks big time…
When we had BVG as DC from 2001-2004 we only gave up over 30 pts once, and that was a 34-13 loss to the eventual 2003 nat champs LSU. It seems that we have just gotten used to seeing other teams put big numbers up on us. I miss the days when we wanted to put the game in our defense’s hands instead of us all just hoping that we could somehow manage to just hold them to a field goal inside the redzone. I hope CTG can get things going in a hurry, i wanna see results next year! I wanna see alec ogletree bring back that hardnosed, hardhitting, defense that we got used to seeing every week with thomas davis, greg blue, and the BVG coached defense. I’d rather have an average offense with a great defense anyday.

Wow, with about 90% of you guys on this thread knowing exactly how to beat Florida, you’d think some school somewhere might have picked you up. You don’t have to like the coaches or where the team is, but remember, these are kids, the quarterback has only been eligible to vote for a year. Every minute on that field has a little less than an hour’s worth of work put in on the back end by the kids and more than that by the coaches, so don’ think that you can stroke a few keys and know better than Richt and co. Let’s get behind the boys and beat up on some Idaho State Bengals.

I’ll say this: Spurrier made it a point to beat Georgia when he came to Florida. To Spurrier, this game was huge –he hated (hates) Georgia because they ruined his undefeated season & a shot at the NC. Georgia was so dominate so long ago that Georgia still leads the series 46-40 even though Florida has claimed the last 18 of 21. So, for those who think Georgia gets to jacked-up for this game, or that Georgia gets too nervous when they play Florida, I ask you this: How did Spurrier approach this game when he was hired in 1990? The answer is Spurrier changed the schedule by moving the Auburn game & placing a bye-week in front of the Georgia game every year. To sum it up, Spurrier took this game serious –the ONE game that Florida HAS to win, and with that he changed the momentum. In order for Georgia to get back to winning this series our coaching staff has to do the same thing. Until then, Georgia can only expect to win 2 of 8.

MRC , Let me remind you that about 90% of these people also saw Martinez as inept. Were they right?
Having said that, there will always be idiots on the blog, and then others just venting their frustration. Bottom line is I don’t think any true DAWG fan with a competitive nature can be satisfied with winning 2 of the last 10 games against Florida, especially when Georgia has had the better team in at least 4 of those games. At the very least Georgia should be 4-6 over the last decade.

Florida’s defensive backs are far superior to ours and have been the difference in wins and losses the last five years. They recruit receivers to play corner and safety and we don’t. Offensive playbook I said it when Bobo came on board, Dawgs will not win at a high level with his obvious playcalling ability. Richt will either start calling plays or he is on his way out I’m afraid and I hope he isn’t because who else is out there better than him overall. Dawgs are getting better the defense is better, but the secondary is out of position badly and that is a credit to offensive coaches everywhere, and I’m wondering if the 3-4 is not right for the SEC, seems if we don’t get to the quarterback then somebody is going for a big gain far too often. Great effort by the Dawgs, one play here or there namely the 2 point conversion that didn’t go to the best receiver in the nation, and they need to coach defense to fall on the fumble ,don’t be a hero, just be a team player!

In the old days before overtime and games could end in a tie it was said that a tie was like kissing your sister. Losing to Florida year in and year out is like kissing your ulgy sister. Maybe Richt should follow Metterburger’s lead and go to a junior college where he can be successful. It’s not that coach Richt isn’t a good coach it’s just he can’t win the games that will keep his job much longer. Having AJ Green and not getting the ball to him but twice in the first half for 12 yards is about like having a gun to protect your house but not getting the bullets to go with it. Just will not get the job done. We didn’t help ourselves either by kicking the ball to Chris Rainey and letting him return most of them 40 yards. We have kickers who can put kickoffs out of the endzone but they haven’t been in a game in so lone that the coaches must have forgot that they are still on the team. As for where this game is held I don’t think it meams a hill of beans, it could be played on the moon and the outcome would be the same. It’s about attitude and a mental block that tells fans and players we can’t win this game no matter what. I would say bull to that but the proof is in the pudding so to speak, just check the record. McGarity has to decide if he can redirect Richt toward the goals he sees for UGA football or make a change and gamble on someone else to do so. Murray is growing as a young quarterback and will only get better. It would be nice if Green and Houston stayed around for next year but I can understand that the chance of a lot of money coming their way is hard to resist. T. King, M. Brown, and O. Charles will be great targets if AJ leaves after this year so we should be okay.

“We need more white players on defense yeah sounds racial but so what.
Grantham will have to be more patient teaching those players how to line up on defense than he would if there were white players on D.”

Do you want to know what the most predictable thing about this game was?
The half-a$$ed, fair-weather fans of the University of Georgia football team who don’t say a word when we are winning…but as soon as we lose a game they come out in force to bash the team or some of the players and scream “I told you so”…
The same shameful, cry-baby so-called supporters that said before the season started that someone else should have been given the nod at QB. The same ones that somehow think that Mettenberger or young Hutson Mason might have had more success this year, which is totally ludicrous…those that complained about Murray during the four game losing streak…then proclaimed his greatness when he got us back into the race…now you want blame him for this loss and burn him at the stake…
This kid doesn’t deserve that kind of sorry support. He has played outstandingly for a young, first-time starter in the SEC. His numbers in the league as well as nationally are still some of the best accrued this year. He still has less INT’s and more TD’s than a very large number of his peers.
He will learn from this. He is only going to get better. A lot better. And you know what? He doesn’t care one bit about personal accolades. He only cares about this team and whether they succeed or not.
I said earlier that he didn’t deserve the kind of “support” some of you lousy, two-faced fans were giving him, but that isn’t totally correct.
The truth is…you don’t deserve him.

I think if you’ll go back and watch a replay of the end of the first half, Coach Richt did use all of his timeouts and did force UF to punt. UF was actually setting up to throw a hail Mary at the end of the half, but due to Coach Richt’s quick action in calling the timeout, they had to punt.

I’m not going to make the argument that Coach Bobo’s play calling was perfect, but those of you who say it was “terrible” are either simply reacting emotionally about the outcome of the game, or you are just willfully ignorant. We scored 31 points, despite 4 killer turnovers and despite at least two huge missed opportunities for turnovers. Aaron Murray was admittedly “amped up” in the first half and didn’t play well. Once he got going, the same coach calling the plays had outstanding results. We scored 24 points in the second half against a very good defense. What more do you want? Having a week off is no guarantee of victory (look what it “didn’t” do for us last year), but I think in the long run it definitely makes a difference. It never hurts to have an extra week to rest up and recover when going up against your toughest opponent. And, as Urban showed, it can give you an opportunity to really shake things up on offense, if you choose, or target certain weaknesses on either side of the ball.

The overtime interception was actually a result of terrible offensive line play. Murray should have thrown it away but he was trying to let green make a play. The Gators RUSHED 3 defensive linemen and dropped 8 in coverage! How in the heck did 3 DL put so much pressure on Murray. On that play the OL did not block! It was intercepted because there was 8 DB’s waiting and the QB was getting pressure.

I think that my name sums it up for Bobo. It is good for Bobo to realize that the turnovers hurt, but I am still waiting for him to realize it is also poor play calling. Good offenses have 3 and 1 and go straight up the middle. They do not try to ge tthe corner. Good offenses realize what is working and stick with it. We were blowing the off the ball for the most part in the first half and then stopped. We got the momentum back headed into OT and what does Bobo do…go for the win on the first play, up the middle and 2 an 10, and then panics thinking that the need to get all of it and try to get a first down all in one play taking them out of the points.
Get a clue Bobo. You are what you were when you played…mediocre at best!

Coaches made great adjustment at half time this game. Florida couldn’t stop our offense. And we shut them down on defense in the second half. We gave up the one touchdown run, that is true. But the field goal came on the long kickoff return we gave up. Our defense then held them to a field goal. How can you possibly blame our coaches when Florida came out and did EVERYTHING different, because they had a week off??!!! They went in the lockerroom and adjusted PERFECTLY. Great coaching yesterday. They had the week off, but we out coached them.

In crucial moments, we get more predictable, bad play-calling from Bobo. My main pet peeve is the continual “incomplete on 1st down to Durham on a bad pass, so we run it up the middle on 2nd down, leaving us with 3rd and long AGAIN.” We’d been better the past 2-3 weeks, but reverted back to it against Florida. The CBS announcer pointed out afterward that Florida was loaded up on 2nd down to stop the run, daring us to pass. On that play, AJ clearly had single coverage. So, we run for 1 yard and fail on 3rd and long. After the game, Coach Richt described that series and just glosses over the WASTED 2nd down play. We should stop WASTING plays in crucial moments….. it sets us up to FAIL……… I’m not overlooking the turnovers, failing to fall on a fumble, failing to intercept a pass late that would’ve set us up for the winning field goal, etc., but our playcalling still fails us in the CRUCIAL moments………… We need a Top 5 offensive coordinator to be a Top 5 team….. Go DAWGS!!! Beat Idaho State…………………..

I can understand talk of firing Mark Richt. Although I don’t think it is going to happen, but talk of firing Adams is crazy. Outside a major scandal involving the football program that a college president is aware or sweeps under the table i.e. recruiting scandals or fixed test scores, a collegepresident’s job security should never hinge on the success of the football team. Those who think it should have totally lost sight of what a college university is all about. With all due respect, if anyone disagrees, they have either lost sight of things, don’t live in the real world or have never gone to college a day in their life and think the only reason UGA exist is for Saturday’s in the fall.

You jack asses who are blaming AM for this game – I guess his bad days are when he throws for over 300 yards againast a supposedly good defense (and that WAS one of his worst performances so far) – I think I’ll take that any day of the week. As for Richt – If he had left after 5 years he would be an eternal hero – the fact is – you stay anywhere more than 3 or 4 years (Somethig UM has yet to do) you will have some rough seasons….USC anyone? Michigan? Notre Dame? Miami? FSU? DO we forget that nobody stays on top forever? Even if you have a hundred year old tradition that wheel is going to turn and one day you will not be so good. As for Florida pounding their chests – How bad is it down there when Meyer thinks beating a 4-4 UGA team is his greatest victorey ever? Yeah – good luck with that one. I like these Dawgs – they are going to be all right….rough year right now but I see the future and it’s looking good.

UGA’s still a major program. It makes a lot of money and has a national brand. It’s not an elite program, but it never has been. Richt has been slipping over time, and he’s getting mileage now from his earlier successes. I think it’s fair to say that UGA is respected, but not feared. As long as the program is making money, and the product is still entertaining, Richt’s not going anywhere. Even among the elite programs, only one wins the NC. Guess that makes all the rest losers—-just like us. Back off, enjoy the game, the season, the close loses, and the good wins. And marvel at the fact that grown man can make a good living from commenting on games they don’t play, have no influence over, and aren’t responsible for. Then tell me why I should take any of this seriously.

Is wasn’t that long ago that Alabama was sucking air. It wasn’t that long ago that Auburn was sucking air. Look at the fallen. It happens to everyone eventually. The good news is that eventually this too shall pass and the fortunes improve. So don’t sweat it. It is apparent that the Dawgs have not given up. They played their hearts out. There will be better days ahead.

Bobo is probably the worst offensive coordinator in the game today. His comments ara meaningless because they are right out of Football for Dummies. Everyone in the stadium, including the opposing defense, knows what he is going to call. He and Lakatos are pure poison on this team.

Hmmm; interesting that the OT interception is Murray’s biggest nightmare. Seems to me that a bigger nightmare would be running the wrong way up the field for 25 yards then, before finally going down, fumbling the ball another 5 yards up field.
Yep, definitely for me that would be the bigger nightmare . . .

Fire Richt, fire Bobo, fire Grantham, release Murray of his scholorship, kick all the running backs off the team for what they have done and what they will do, tell Green to go ahead and quit the team and get ready for the NFL and last but not least fire the new UGA just because he was there! Now that about covers it for all you so called UGA fans that get foaming at the mouth after every freaking loss! Enjoy your day and remember to vote Tuesday. The interception in the OT didn’t lose the game. The game was lost in the first quarter when we should have been ahead 14-0 instead of 0-0 the way it was. No killer instinct and a scared RS freshman QB playing Florida for the first time. Murray brought us back but we should have never been that far behind.
All the times we wanted bobo to throw the ball instead of running up the middle? Well, in the OT EVERYONE knew we were going to throw. Why not fool them with a running play and try to get the 1st down and if not, kick the FG and get the lead? That kick the florida kicker had to make would have been a lot different in terms of pressure if he is making it to tie the game. Also, the playcalling in OT for Florida would have maybe been different if they had to score a TD to win.
Murray is going to be really good before he is through. The defense has got to start getting better. Anybody suggesting a head coaching change needs to look at Tennessee?
Would Tennesse be better or worse today if they had kept Fulmer? Nothing against DD. The mess was inherited.

Murray really sucked the first half and I was questioning him as a Florida boy helping out Florida but when he came out at halftime you saw his heart the remainder of the way. @Jerry Alexander You are so right, CMR has no creativity what so ever…although I hang this one on AM and the team more than coaching, I think coaches should understand AM being from Tampa (my HS at that) was going to be amped up. CMR/Bobo should’ve have schemed plays to help settle a freshman QB down in the biggest game of his young life. AM made some bad mistakes, but the fumble was actually a kicked ball, but had he got rid of it or had it tucked better maybe he doesn’t lose all those yards. What also had me ticked off was watching 2 UF fumbles be lost because they wanted to run with it rather than fall on it…-14 points right there. And why don’t we get our play makers the ball…UF made sure, regardless or formation, their big play guys got the ball. Richt is a great guy, and I am not knee jerking when I say this and never changed my mind when we had a nice 3 game streak, but it’s time for a change. We need someone who wants to be a football coach, not a missionary. No turning the other cheek, we need someone who crushes cheek bones…Most of the Dawg fans here are delusional. Wake up! UGA is a mediocre team at best…we have great talent but we consistently underachieve…this golly gee crap has to end…look at the teams who are consistently in the NC race. Their coaches are fearless leaders…who take no prisoners, a la Spurrier hanging 1/2 a 100 on us IN Athens…so either we no our place in the SEC as a good team, destined to be 7-5, 8-4 and go to a nice bowl game, somewhere warm, so all the complacent Alumni can have a nice getaway or Michael Adams needs to get off his ass and make a wholesale change in CMR and his staff. And….with a week off UF had an ENTIRE new offense schemed for us! Pathetic…I came to UGA by choice not because of some family legacy or being a lifelong Dawg…but I am 100% Dawg none the less, but when I go home to Tampa I see a completely different attitude with the fans (and the coaches and the players)…they EXPECT to win every game…and we do not. And as long as the Dawg nation has this BS golly gee willakers attitude and accepts mediocrity we will be mediocre…plain and simple.

@bitter buck belue are you serious? “There are a lot of teams worse off than we are”…WTH does that do for US!? And FYI…without Herschel, Dooley is mediocre too…you are the stereotypical Dawg’s fan these days…we don’t expect to win, Golly Gee BBB we’re lucky to have such a nice coach in CMR…he goes on mission trips, has an orphanage in Ukraine and we just love him to death….STOP!!!! This is college football in 2010…this is a business and huge in many ways to UGA…there is NOTHING even remotely similar to how things USE to be during CVD’s days…you don’t help shape young men, you don’t build character…YOU JUST NEED TO WIN FOOTBALL GAMES. And 95% of the players today rarely (if at all) spend any real time with their head coach…This is about winning and the a direct correlation to generating revenue: TV, merchandising, commercials (a la CMR’s Ford gig) and bowl games…the revenue from these pay for the other sports and facilities. CMR needs to make a wholesale change: not in coaches, but in attitude…the way things look they’re probably singing kumbaya at fregging practice. And all you who are over 50…we don’t care about Wally Butts, or CVD…most of us never saw Herschel play on TV, let a lone in person. You have succumbed to looking at things other than winning…and you are out of touch with Div 1, SEC, collegiate football in 2010. There is no more “its how you play the game” crap…it’s only about winning. Which we don’t do enough of….

The impatience of all of you so-called “coaches” out there is the problem with sports these days, especially in college football. I’m as upset as any of you about Saturday’s loss, but if schools went by our opinions regarding coaches, sports would be in even worse shape. Just go back and read all of these opinions!! If Vince Dooley coached now he would have been fired after going 5-5-1 and 5-5 in his 6th and 7th seasons at UGA. Instead he coaches 25 years at UGA and becomes one of the most legendary coaches in college football. “But it’s different now” you say. Yes it is. Now there are twice as many quality programs in the NCAA than in 1970, making it even tougher to win the SEC, must less a National Championship. Let’s not become Gator Nation who last week whined about firing a coach who led them to TWO National Championships in the last 4 years.

They don’t have to fire the coaching staff to get better, but my gosh the coaching staff had better change what they are doing.
Supposedly Blair Walsh is an asset, Supposedly this team can win close games because he has a great leg and he’s very accurate. If they get themselves close with enough time they have the assets to go down and kick a game winner…..
You wouldn’t know it becuase the offensive coaching staff has given up TWICE with time on the clock the game on the line and just a few yards to gain to get in range for Walsh.
The Arkansas debacle and the Florida loss are two games that should be haunting Mark Richt and Mike Bobo.
They did get into position in the Colorado loss, they just again…didn’t hold on to the football.
Tackling…ball security, two hallmarks of well coached teams.
The inexplicable way in which they approach these situations is why they lose games. Way to many mistakes and turnovers compounded by the wrong play calls at the wrong time.

Murray played pretty well but did have a few regrettable plays. Look to the future Dawgs. Murray showed he has poise and is an aggressive QB. He also has excellent feet. If GA can improve its O-line play and get decent play by any other receiver not named AJ Green UGA will be pretty darn good.
GA needs T. King and the gang to STEP UP. Stop dropping balls and make catches that hit you in the hands.
GA is not an elite team Dawg fans, so get over it. They do have the pieces in place to perhaps be an elite team in a year or two.

Florida took criticism for keeping Chris Rainey on the team, despite a “legal issue” with a girlfriend.
HELLO! That little “legal issue” was a felony stalking charge against his ex-girlfriend…amazing how it got plead down to a misdemeanor–that seems to happen all the time with these THUG Gator players. He’s not the first one to threaten or assault a girlfriend.
Oh and yes, I know about GA’s arrest records—As far as I’m concerned they should ALL be removed from the team if they are arrested for ANYTHING! But don’t make like Rainey’s was just some lil ole something…he threatened her with “Time to die B**tch.” I’m actually surprised Myers kept him off as long as he did.
As to Murray–everybody give the kid a break—he’s new and nervous and will be fine…better than fine, he’s going to be spectacular!!

I was there and saw a pretty good game. Some of the past games have not been competitive and we have overcome that. The freshman QB and new defense will improve. Cosch Tubervilee said Richt could not win the SEC without a strong running game and this is still true. If you want to fix something, get a running game and the play calling will look great.

What I can’t understand is why we try the scoop and score, on fumbles. Jump on the ball and recover the fumbles.
If Richt has one more down season, we need to hire a disciplinarian type coach, like a Herman Boone type, from Remember the Titans.
The players made to many mistakes, but they have very little discipline.

For everyone going off about Chris Rainey, you may just want to google it and read all about it yourself. your comments are very VERY misinformed and it is obbious to anyone who has read even one article about this case that it was the DA and the Police who over-reacted in this case. As for the “neutral ground” argument….I dont recall any of you Georgia fans complaining about it when you owned us in the 70s and 80s…but I guess when you start to lose (18 of 21), you need to find something to cry about other than you poor recruiting ability.

Bobo’s playcalling is wretched at times. Murray struggled with accuracy most of the game, he’s young and inexperienced with these types of pressure games. Bobo gave Murray the rope to hang himself by calling a pass play on 3rd down and OT, the predictable play with Murray trying too hard to force a ball and be a hurray. They were already in field goal position and should have made it a battle of kickers if they couldn’t convert the first down. I’ll take Blair Walsh against Chas Henry, but because Booboo is a predictably lousy play-caller Walsh never got the chance. Defense was playing well enough at the end to hold Florida to no more than field goals. Bobo sucks, he has to go…he should know he has a young QB and not put that QB in a position to fail at the end.
