(Updated 10 a.m. Thursday)
ATHENS — With Caleb King suspended for two games and Carlton Thomas still bothered by a hamstring injury, Georgia suddenly is in a precarious position at tailback.
Washaun Ealey, whose playing time has been limited the past two games because of his problem with fumbles, will start Saturday against Vanderbilt. “He’s going to be the guy this week,” offensive coordinator Mike Bobo said.
Ealey sees this as his chance to make amends for critical fumbles against South Carolina and Mississippi State.
“I’m pretty sure I lost the trust of most guys on the team,” Ealey said after practice Wednesday. “Hopefully I can go out there and gain their trust back this week.
“I know my team really needs me this game,” he added.
Georgia’s tailback situation behind Ealey remains in flux.
Thomas, who missed last week’s game, practiced on a limited basis Wednesday. Freshman Ken Malcome, whom the coaches are considering playing for the first time, missed part of Tuesday’s practice with a shoulder stinger but returned Wednesday. Whether Malcome sheds his redshirt and plays Saturday could hinge on how Thomas does the next couple of days, coach Mark Richt said Wednesday night.
Asked earlier this week if Malcome has shown enough in practice to prove he’s ready to play, Bobo said: “We ain’t got nobody else. … We got one running back,” meaning Ealey.
Fullbacks Fred Munzenmaier and Zander Ogletree also have gotten work at tailback in practice this week, Richt said.
“We’re going to have to figure out a way,” Bobo said. “Guys are going to have to pick up the slack, and Washaun is going to have to be ready to go.”
King’s suspension is the latest hurdle for a tailback contingent that has had trouble getting on track this season.
“It’s been interesting, to say the least,” McClendon said.
Among suspensions (first Ealey’s, now King’s) and injuries (first King’s ankle, now Thomas’ hamstring) and crucial fumbles (two by Ealey, one by King), Georgia has not been able to get into any kind of rhythm at tailback in the first half of the season.
Ealey has started three games, King two (both of the wins) and Thomas one. Ealey has a team-leading 246 rushing yards, followed by King with 228. Ealey’s longest run of the season is 18 yards. As a team, Georgia is 10th in the SEC in rushing, averaging 136.8 yards per game.
McClendon said King was beginning to separate himself as the No. 1 tailback — before his early Monday arrest for failing to appear at a court date in connection with a speeding ticket. That arrest resulted in a two-game suspension from Richt.
Now, Ealey “has to go out there and do a good job,” McClendon said. “Not so much fill the void, but he has to go out there and fill the job, no matter what.”
Third-down inefficiency
Georgia’s defense is last in the SEC when it comes to stopping opponents on third down, allowing a first down 43.4 percent of the time.
“Third-and-long, especially, has been our Achilles heel,” Richt said. “We’ve had a bunch of teams in third-and-long, and we’ve had a bunch of teams get a first down. It’s just so frustrating.
“A lot of it has been QB runs. You feel like you have the right call, you have everybody covered and you are right there to get [the quarterback], and he breaks free. He either runs across the line of scrimmage like the Colorado quarterback [Tyler Hansen] did at least two or three times in the first drive of the game, or breaks free and throws a touchdown pass like the quarterback [Matt Simms] did for Tennessee last week.”
Richt said the Georgia defense has been much better against “third-and-medium” plays than against third-and-long.
“We just have got to continue to get our guys in position to make the plays,” Richt said, “and get them to make it.”
Last word
Asked who is happiest to have A.J. Green back in the lineup — the other receivers, the tight ends, the quarterback, the running backs — Bobo quickly answered: “Me.”

King is mediocre at best. Our running game is not going to win us any games this year, in fact, the more we try to run it, the more likely we are to lose. We need to ride Murray and AJG for all they got this season, and hopefully get Crowell for next year.

It doesn’t seem that other coaches have a problem playing true freshmen. Spurrier is playing Lattimore and Chizik is playing Dyer. Why do we always have to make sure someone is “ready” to play before we just give them a chance. Yeah, maybe we don’t put him back there on 3rd and long when there is a chance he misses a block on a blitz but give the guy a chance.

DOG, we are recruiting the right guys, as the guys we recruit out of high school are all-world, but I question promoting a grad assistant (BMAC) to Running Backs coach at UGA. I questioned the move at the time, and I am further convinced that Bmac is not qualified to be a coach in the SEC. Richt needs to quit rewarding people w/in the program, b/c this is clearly not working (see Willie, Bobo, Bmac).

RB blocking...
October 13th, 2010
9:39 am
…is just like playing defense on a basketball team, you have to “want” to do it in oreder to do it right – and, the prima donna guys at UGA only “want” to run the ball and DO NOT “want” to block. And, they will never make it in college or the NFL until the “want” to do it…llok at little guy pros like Ladanian Tomlinson and Walter Payton – they were/are great runners, but you do not/did not see them coming out on third and long because they could block, too. If you don’t mind getting in front of those DE’s and LB’s coming off the corner or up the middle (see Ealy’s whiff in the AR game) then they are not going to play in college or the pro’s (see Johnathan Dwyer of Tech fame now in the Steel City – that is why he lasted until the 6th round – he could run but his blocking was suspect, and now he is proving himself).

When you have the backup FB getting ready to carry the ball as your tailback then you have depth issues. UGA lacks a CONSISTENT homerun threat in the running game. Ealey and King have there moments, but neither with the way the OL has performed has enough talent to make something out of nothing.
Malcome at this point is like the backup QB, everyone’s favorite till he gets in and throws a pick/fumble. Malcome coming out of high school lacked the top end speed in a tailback that UGA needs. He is another Ealey/King clone. Recruiting a big play high impact tailback has to be of high importance this recruiting class. Lets just hope the way this season has unfolded has not crushed those chances.

I doubt it will matter too much. UGA can’t run the ball anyway. Until the line starts blocking consistently, every running back is going to look mediocre.
DOG – I think the recruiting has been fine. UGA has 3 good active running backs and Malcome redshirting. They also have Branden Smith to use on offense. If Caleb King had handled his business UGA wouldn’t be in this position. Carlton Thomas can’t help it that he is injured but Caleb, AJ and the rest of the players who have been suspended have let their team and fans down.

Lot’s of buzzards still flying around……Bleachers report .com has a story this AM ” Ten reasons why UGA should fire Mark Richt right now”……. Ching from the Athens Banner Herald has a in depth write up this week ( it’s still online) about our recruiting the last 4 year cycle, and how many bust we have and who is playing elsewhere in the SEC from the state of Georgia…It’s a real eyeopening article about the lack of success we’re having getting top talent to Athens. Not having any SEC caliber ready to go is alarming. They better play Malcome this week……Beating Florida and Tech this year would give us some hope, but both those programs have some issues……….Recruiting concerns me.

I’m new to these blogs, but I have been seeing a lot of “Fire Richt” posts. There is a zero percent chance that we would fire Richt after this season. For no other reason, how would that look to potential coaches if we were to fire Richt after one really bad season? No quality coach would want to leave his current comfotable situation (e.g. Peterson from Boise St) for a situation like that.

Great point Geno… Couldn’t agree more. Our true freshman our so way behind the learning curve where other programs seem to get those players ready to play faster in the summer. Looks pretty similar in stature to me, and coming out he timed a 4.54 40. That is a lack of top end speed. He may be a bruising back, but UGA needs a homerun threat. Malcome, is not a breakway threat. If he was he would be playing. King, Ealey, Samuels and now Malcome are all clones.

Didn’t Georgia recruit Lattimore? Yet he chose Carolina over us (and I hate Carolina). Wonder why. More of the top players from Georgia schools are going to other universities/colleges. Why? 11 arrest since March and most of them off season doesn’t say a lot for us when we recruit. Are the better disciplined players going to other schools and we’re getting the kids who can’t stay out of trouble, looks that way. Maybe the way we recruit needs to be changed.

“We ain’t got nobody else. … We got one running back,” ……wtf?
We have three backs that are not able to do anything on the field( Come on, its game 6 and our backs have as many yards as Lattimore did against us in 1 game!!)…an O line that isn’t performing as it should after years of playing together and an OC that can not speak English or call plays!
WHY “AIN”T” WE better than 10th in rushing? What is the problem with these clowns?

Geez!!! I am ready for some new players at UGA. The current group seems to not appreciate what they have going for them – and the personal behavior and lack of respect for the coaching staff – has worn thin.
We are realistically looking at 6-6 at best – while we have had 11 arrests.

Given the lack of production at the running back position this season, the three game killing fumbles, the off field problems and resulting suspensions of both our top running backs, CMR needs to dismiss Bryan McLendon and hire a quality running backs coach.

Do you think that the UGA book store needs to be OUT OF STOCK on red UGA caps? They always, always sell red UGA caps. Foks ……….it is a basic sku. Running backs are the basic, basic position that any school must fill in on …………every year!!!
UGA is in a state of high quality HS running backs. We know that, because when we view ANY, any school playing college football ………… there is USUALLY a decent Georgia bred running back there. We simply cannot get them all but two per year is about right.
UGA has let this position slip badly since they signed No Show Moreno. In the old days we usually had a decent back …………now? NOT !!
Caleb King and ealey are duds. They cannot break tackles and they are losers. Thier position coach is the SON of a former great UGA back …………Willie McClendon. Brian McClendon played flanker for crying out loud. THAT is why UGA does not have quality running backs.
Richt & Co.need to be blown out for this deficiency and when the season is over ……………..McGarity will pull the plug on this make believe show of UGA ball.
UGA fans do not expect to win the SEC nor the NC every year at all but we do expect to compete for the SEC Eastern title and we then would be happy to let the chips fall where they may. It ain’t happening UGA grads ………..let us rise up and get this bunch of clowns gone.
In 2 years, UGA will be fine. Such is life. SWe ain’t football factory bamy nor floder.

Good points. I have been wondering since the hiring of McGarity just what he will do after this season is over. Will he pull the plug on CMR buddy system of hiring coaches and demand a search for quality position coaches be done? I hope he puts more input than Evans and holds CMR more accountable for progress in the program.

I like your line up. I agree with the comment about King and I would add ealey to that.
Who knows about Malcome? I hope that he can simply move the freaking chains.
Now, I also would like to see Brandon Boykin at running back. I think he runs well in traffic, he breaks tackles and he has that burst of speed coming out of a jamb up. He might not be a 30 carry per game man but maybe 10 – 12 carries and he would end up with maybe 80-90 yds. Compare his body type to either ealey or caleb and look at their biceps. Boykin lifts weights apparently. HE is a ball player and they are simply low level talent.
There is no pint in continuing to use the twins ealey and king. They are lost causes and are losers. Richt htinks that he will save his job by using them. He needs to play the best man now.
UGA needs to make a change at the highest levels and I will guarantee that new AD Greg McGarity is stunned by the complete dis array of the football team. He HAS to make it better and he knows that the problems are systemic within richt’ s staff and his philosophy.
New coach can tighten it up quickly and seal the state within two year and we will be fine competing for the SEC East.

UGA’s chances will improve when they discontinue playing that Florida game in Jacksonville every year.
What did Mark Richt say? When you keep doing the same thing over and over again and get the same results…that’s the definition of insanity. What would Georgia’s record be against Florida over the past 20 years if the games had been played home and home? Better yet, what would be the record if all the games were played in Atlanta instead of Jacksonville? UGA is 3 and 17 in Jacksonville and probably 3 and 18 after this year. Don’t you think UGA has a better chance of winning this year if the game were in Athens and Georgia had a week off too prepare as Florida usually does?

King, Ealey, and Thomas and AVERAGE SEC backs at best. This alone is testament to the poor recruiting and evaluation of talent that plaques UGA. Former AD Evans was a kid that was groomed for political correctness reasons ONLY to be AD at UGA. He can not take credit for anything beyond hiring Mark Fox. Nice hire too.
McGarity IS the UGA AD now. He is a big boy and a UGA alumnus. He will watch, look and listen and chat with the UGA $$$$ faithful, as he is always at the stadium erlry on game day. He will discern cracks and flaws in Richt’ over all regime. He will review the issues and the results on the field. He will wonder about a seemingly LACK of espri d corps on this team. This is KEY to it all. Salt & pepper it is. Look at the REAL UGA stars ……………you can see it too. JEALOUSY is the mode over there right now. Beyond AJ Green and Logan Grey and Aaron Murray and Chapas and Durden and Munzemaier and Walsh and Butler ……….see???
If I were a betting man ………….Richt will chat with Greg McGarity 3 hours after the GT game ( if not before ) and he will resign “to pursue other interests.” UGA does owe him that courtesy. Greg will simply tell him that “come 2011 you must win the SEC East for us to extend your contract” and
Richt will say he cannot guarantee that and they will shake hands and it will be done. Write him a check. Keep in mind UGA has saved about $2,000,000.00 on the construction over there. See? Found money that is to buy CMR out.
This way, McGarity can immediately go after the top names in coaching. UGA haters ………do not confuse last year’s attempt at hiring a D co ordinator as a fact that no one wants to coach at UGA. No sir, the state is full of blue chip players, world class facilities and a golfing lifestyle is only one hour away at Lake Ocnonee and the fans are $$$$$$$ loyal if you win or tie and there are boat loads and boat loads of $$$$$$ money and we all know that MONEY TALKS AND SMOKE WALKS.

With all of the outrage I read on these blogs about UGA football arrests, where is the outrage about Cam Newton, Auburn’s much acclaimed quarterback, who was arrested in 2008 at UF for allegedly stealing a $1700 laptop? When the police came to Newton’s room and checked, the computer in question had been painted black and while the police stepped out of the room to verify if this was the computer stolen, the computer was thrown out of the dorm room window. Newton was kicked off of the Gator team, then led a Jr. college team to a national championship and became a Rivals.com # 1 recruit and is now being mentioned as a Heisman Trophy candidate. And I thought the Heisman Trophy was for a role model athlete!

I wonder if any of the books about UGA football include the perspective of someone speaking for the late Jan Kemp? The perspective that “student” athletes like Lindsay Scott were playing years without taking college level courses? That the proudest moment of the football program was earned by players who never earned a single college credit?
Dawgtards love to return to 1980, but their memories are really short when it comes to remembering an earthshaking event that happened a few years later that showed the world what a joke UGA athletes were and what a scam artist their beloved Vince Dooley was (and is). So for all those dawgtards with short memories or who think their athletes are actually taking real courses and trying to graduate, here’s the quote that broke the trial wide open and showed what a slimeball Dooley is:
O. Hale Almand Jr., a lawyer for the defense, offered a justification for the favorable treatment accorded the athletes, citing a hypothetical player. “We may not make a university student out of him,” he told the jury, “but if we can teach him to read and write, maybe he can work at the post office rather than as a garbageman when he gets through with his athletic career.”
Nothing has changed at UGA, they just do a slightly better job of keeping things quiet, but that’s hard to do when 44 of your player-thugs have been arrested, isn’t it?

According to the Wiki on Redshirt(college sports):
“However, NCAA rules are quite clear on the use of redshirt status: any participation in any competition counts as a season of eligibility. For example, even a single play in a football game counts as participation for an entire season, so coaches cannot play redshirt players at the end of a game simply to get them some experience.”

We have top recruiting classes but we run out of linemen, now we run out of running backs. Last couple years we overstocked on defensive ends, before that quarterbacks. There is no balance to the recruiting and Richt lead teams have never valued the big lineman. The program is a train wreck with a house full of good players. It’s time to get someone to head the program with a work ehtiic and that wants to win.

You are 100% correct. Our history of recruits is a shot gun approach and your take is on the money.
I think that a solid program should always pursue the basics ……….ever year ……..r. backs, qb, flankers, linemen, d. linemen and d backs and backers. This way, you should not end up bankrupted like UGA is at r. back. Yes, starters that are returing will impact that plan but Sabin made it work for his team with Ingram, then Richardson. So did Dooley and other good to great coaches. He got Moreno but no one else. Richt inherited Musa Smith. In 10 years that is it???
With Richt, I always felt like he was just more interested in recruiting the state of Florida first, then out of panic when they usually failed, the state of Georgia last. That has failed and it will be his undoing. Look at our # 2 running back ……….5′6″ 168lb Carlton Thomas. Fast but that is it.

First of all, I’m trying to be positive, but what “speedster” RB wants to come to UGA and be in our pro-style offense where it takes forever for a running play to develop? Our QB always has his back to the line when he hands off, and who wants to run between the tackles almost every time? The really good backs go to teams that run some variation of the spread. Maybe it’s time for CMR to rethink his offense.

Of course Bobo is the most excited to have A.J. back. Now his calls can be bailed out with one handed catches, diving ones, and toss up passes. Aaron Murray has been more than amazing for Georgia, and is showing more promise than Brantley at Florida and Gilbert at Texas. I say you put a guy in at running back that has a chip on his shoulder. Go ahead and throw Malcom in and see what the guys got. Rather do that and see if we have a winner, instead of wasting a year like the coaches did with Knowshon. I think Ken Malcom can take enough off Murray to where we can set up our passing game and win. Cause our passing game is the only reason we belong in games this season.

Interesting point, given the experience and the abilities of the 2 current QBs. Mason ran the Rush Propst Hoover HS spread at Lassiter, which is almost all passing. Murray looks like he can run the spread. Oregon’s spread is run-first. Mason’s coach at Lassiter, Chip Lindsey is now QB coach at Troy, which runs the spread. Most of the Jan Kemp posters omit what happened after her revelations. UGA manned up, took their medicine, raised academic standards though it cost them some recruits to rival SEC/ACC schools, and UGA now has the combination of great athletics and sound academics. (Note high ranking among public universities, also note the 132 SEC titles and 37 NCs in 8 different sports). So, rival schools, you can have both. What you can’t have is the title of #1 college town on the planet.

Geno- They ‘ve been playing young RBs like Ealy & king before this season. They were running great by teh end of hte yr. last yr. It’s not always necessary ot play a FR. THe teams that do so do ti bc that’s their best option. UGA was thought to be loaded at teh RB & OL positions heading into this season. It hasn’t exactly worked out that way so far, but there wasn’t any reason earlier in the yr. to expect tah group of players to perform so poorly that it would be needed to play a FR. That’s why they haven’t played him yet. They were loaded at hte position earlier in the yr., & they didn’t appear to need help until now. Part of the problem has been the line, & also injuries & supsoesion problems with the RBs.

Let’s look at the four (4) losses.
Offense has the ball ready to tie the score at South Carolina and Washaun Ealey fumbles the football at the goal line again. Offense scored 6 points total. Awesomely pitiful.
Offense the next week fell way short in the 4th quarter having again only scored 10 points. Eventually, this cost us that win too. Inept offense.
Offense the following week against Missy State once again for good measure had 6 points in the 4th quarter of the game, total. Nice. Just nice Bobo. A garbage TD made the final Missy State 24, Bobo’s offense 12.
Then, 2 weeks ago against hapless beyond all measure Colorado, again the offense is driving for the game-winning field goal, have achieved that field position already and then we have our great and wondrous RB Caleb King fumble the football not wanting to be hit straight on so he turned sideways and we lost again.
For the season, that is 2 losses against teams with no hope of making the Top 25 Missy State and Colorado to run the total to now 10 teams Coach Richt has lost to who were not in the Top 25 Final AP Polls.
South Carolina and Arkansas are both 2 more Top 25 Final AP Poll teams whom Coach Richt has lost to with this pitiful offense to run his record to 17-21 vs Top 25 Final AP Poll teams.
Let’s hope neither South Carolina nor Arkansas end up in the Top 10 Final AP Poll because already at 3-8 vs Top 10 Final AP Poll teams Coach Richt can ill afford for that to be 3-9 or 3-10.
Basically for 10 years of the CMR Era, we have had a horrible offense.
It is out of date.
It is reliant upon mostly passing.
It is chalk full of turnovers.
It is incompetent, clumsy useless, hopeless, bungling and either unskilled or uncoached or BOTH.

Samuel is a better linebacker. It’s not fair to switch him back and forth like that anyway. They are just going to have to do better recruiting RB’s.
It should be fairly easy to recruit some good ones given that if they can block in addition to thier primary role…there’s not going to be much competition to keep them out of the starting role.

I’ve never understood how anyone – even an alumnus – could support and take pride in UGA’s football team. When you look at their history for the past forty years, how can anyone ignore Jan Kemp and the “remedial studies” scam, the Jim Harrick fiasco, the DUIs in the athletic office, the DUIs and other arrests of players, the #1 party school tag (i.e., the most drunk students), the suspensions and outright dismissals, the Fulmer Cup, and on and on?
As disgraceful and humiliating as it is, I don’t see many alums and fans demanding an end to this sordid activity. It sets UGA apart as the kind of school most people abhor, and it’s become an embarrassment to the whole state of Georgia.
Will it never end? Apparently not while Mark Richt is at UGA. Richt is perhaps the biggest hypocrite in the United States. But even with all the cheating and lawlessness that he ignores, he still can’t win the SEC.
So you’re paying him to be BCS champions, but he can’t even win his SEC division. So why do you pay him millions of dollars a year?
Just asking.

This quoted from CMR interview.
“They just do a very good job on their staff of getting these guys lined up and getting these guys fundamentally ready to play football,” Richt said. “They don’t necessarily try to trick you, but they are very, very sound in what they do. They play fast and they play physical and they really play great fundamental football on both sides of the ball. You could tell they’ve created a lot of really good habits in the way they play.”
Well this would seem to be a good plan that UGA should consider. We make things to complicated… Have to “spoon feed” our troups a little bit of the system at a time until they are comfortable and earn a little play time…
Simplify…. get good at that simple plan… line up the best talent )freshmen or seniors) and attitudes and smash someone in the mouth. What I am seeing us running is nothing very complicated… base plays and my god, these kids have been playing FB for years.. Shouldnt be that complicated.

UGA football is an embarrassment to all Georgians with any character or class at all. UGA= irrevelant 24/7 365 days a year. This is by far the worst FB program in the SEC and who United States. No witty comebacks can hide 11 arrests this year and over 30 in the last 4 years.

At this point in a season of disarray it appears the dawgs are arguably the best 2-4 team in college football. Thanks to Murray and Green we won 2 games. So many disappointments especially an offensive line that is a bust in the run game. Toss in two experienced RB’s that can’t hold onto the ball and it all adds up to one of the poorest running teams in the SEC. BoBo’s playcalling in critical situations continues to be baffleing.
But the O can’t take all the blame. This is the worst Defense CMR has fielded. The new DC should take responsibility but granted he doesn’t have the horses up front to run his 3-4 def. But that does not forgive him on his defenses giving up all those huge plays. He has talented players but they do not show it on the field.
I dread next year. Recruiting has not been good enough to fill the voids that will be left w/graduation and early NFL depoartures. CMR will be on the hot seat for sure unless he uses the scholarships now open due to departed players on kids that will step in and make an early impact such as SC’s RB has done foor SC.
This has been a disappointing season and the way it looks won’t be much better next season.

Ok, everyone just settle down. First of all the demise of this program is not all CMR’s fault. It boils down to your AD whom has recently been replaced. Great AD’s create great football programs.
Look at Foley at Florida, Moore at Alabama and Garrett at USC (ignoring the Reggie Bush issue). Even though USC had a Reggie Bush issue, they were not required to hand in their national titles.
UGA just needs an AD that can get the job done and hire the right folks to start winning ballgames. You should have kept Van Gorder, because someone was asleep at the switch on that one. Also, who is running player development? Hello?

UGA did not have to shift to a 3-4 nor did GT. Everyone is attempting to stop the spread and the 4-3 can do it, you just need 4 down linemen who can crush the line and allow 7 to cover.
The you leave the run to a fast middle linebacker who can track the ball. It is all about defense, no doubt about it, but UGA was desperate and reaching with Grantham. However, you need to give Grantham some time to implement his defensive scheme.

Azdawg, who is graduating that really concerns you? And we may or may not have early NFL jumpers, 1 or 2 max if that. I’ve heard that (idea that we are losing a lot next year) bantered around now as some kind of given. It’s simple not true. Raw number maybe, but who on our schedule isnt?
From what I have seen we ARE doing a better job recruiting. We have better talent at O-line waiting in the wings. I think we see that from the move this past week. Burnette, and Benedict are going to be upgrades too.
We have one of the rising stars in the SEC at QB that will be starting his second season, (which is where the big improvement usually is).
The current status of our RB is questionable right now, but Ealey will be better next year, if only from maturity. King, who knows, but another year for him OR whomever else never hurts. And we will sign somebody, even if its not Crowell, and it may very well be. Certainly we arent taking a step back here.
Best Kicking pair in the country coming back.
And anybody who has followed the transistion of our defense, including comments from the Bama staff about what they went through doing the exact same thing, all say (and common sense would dictate) the second full year running anything is day and night. We simple do not have player on the defense right now that is a game changer that we can’t live without. And even if so, I would trade him today for a handfull of solid guys (that we do have) with an additional year of knowing what to do and not just trying to figure it out. The blown big plays are simple a matter of no confidense in where they are supposed to be. Are you thinking that’s not going to improve drastically?
So what is it that leads you believe they would not be improved next year on the whole?

English Bulldogs were developed in England. Only a cruel idiot would keep one in the South, with the heat and humidity here. Also, there are so few of them in the U.S. that it’s one of the most inbred breeds, which adds to the disease factor.
The Seilers and UGA should be cited for animal cruelty.
Someone needed to say that.

If ealey scores 5 TDs and rushes for 345 yds on 12 carries vs Vandy or Florida …………… he WILL NOT regain the trust of the UGA faithful. The word faithful is spelled this way: A-l-u-m-n-i.
Nope, he cannot regain it and we grads are hoping that when this ugly year is over, it is also OVER for Ealey. When you are in corporate America ……………Mr. Ealey …………… this is the sway that it is. Georgia tek has 30 percent Asian men and only 29 percent women of all races, and now the Regents have banned illegal immigrants from the school.
Coach Richt talked to the Red and Black today and stated that he was “unaware of the situation” with the Caleb King Case now Officially sent to The SEC Office.
You want to discuss, running the table for a 2-4 team with no running back, bragging about its quarterback # 82 in the nation in being sacked, # 67 in NCAA total offense and # 64 in NCAA scoring offense.
The entire Bulldog nation is worried sick about the Red & Black continued series about Caleb King’s case vs the NCAA now forwarded officially to The SEC Office for Compliance as illegal benefits and ineligible player for the win over Louisiana Lafayette and for the win over the vols.
VACATED WINS (2)
For the season, after 8 games, Caleb King has contributed a GRAND FREAKING TOTAL of 8 yards receiving and 0 TD along with 228 yards rushing and 1 TD.
For 8 games.
29 yards per game average TOTAL rushing and receiving all season long 8 games into the “season.”
FOR THIS, Caleb King is going to cost UGA BOTH wins, leaving us at 0-6. Thank God Above he cannot play the next 2 games. We might not be totally defeated all season long therefore this lost 2010 season.
You come in here and act like ladda dadda dee, nothing to discuss but running the damn table, and reminding us all how RED DOG 77 stated how great a season Caleb King is going to have this season “running wild probubly for the rest of the year !………”

Altamahawdawg,
You want examples of FAVORITES played by Coach Richt’s “coaching staff” instead of MORE TALENTED PLAYERS BURIED ON THE DEPTH CHART behind the been here longer players ahead of them ?
You have to be the biggest HOMER Coach Richt supporter of all-time to ask for such a list.
All season last season, until game 12 of our 13-game season in an otherwise 14-game season for the top teams, Orson Charles was buried on the depth chart behind Aron White. Aron White, you recall, made all of 3 catches his freshman season – the 2008 season where we played 3 good teams all season long giving up consecutive points of 29 31 to nothing at half and 42 against us and beating no one. For his 3 catches his freshman season, despite the obvious 23 catches his freshman season the following year by Orson Charles, Aron White was GIVEN the Starting TE job and he HELD IT until game 12 of our 13-game season last year.
2006 Joe Tereshinski III, 5th year senior is selected by Coach Richt’s “coaching staff” to be the Starting # 1 on the Depth Chart Quarterback, with Joe Cox then # 2 and Matt Stafford # 3 a freshman.
This season, we have made the SAME EXACT mistake on our OL Depth Chart, ripping the REDSHIRT OFF a player after we already had LOST 4 GAMES IN A ROW. Game 6, Kenarious Gates 6 ‘ 5 “ and 307 lbs is made the Starter at Right Guard to replace first Starting RG Chris Davis SENIOR who started the first 2 games you might recall we could not run the ball behind and then Tanner Strickland Junior who replaced Davis as the starter for the next 3 games. The season then, shot, they throw in the towel on a REDSHIRT of Gates. Stick him out there with no experience with the ones and of course, he gave up a sack but demonstrated he is demonstrably better than Davis and Strickland combined.

Altamahawdawg, son, you know NOTHING about football, have demonstrated this forever on this blog and come running in here asking a poster to provide to you the details of Coach Richt’s “coaching staff” playing FAVORITES of more experienced players instead of the more talented stuck buried on the Depth Chart behind their more experienced favorites who never have done a damn thing.
Now, after all the B.S. about how great Caleb King is going to be this season when now it appears his college career is OVER ENTIRELY, and us on NCAA Probation for playing him in our 2 wins going into game 7 now, we are told Altamahawdawg, that we will RIP THE REDSHIRT OFF Ken Malcome in Game 7 of the season.
Without a clue.
This exactly what we did with our RB last year in the 3rd quarter of the 5th game, our season already long since over, when we decided this time last year that Caleb King refuses to step up as the # 1 football player in this state 2006.
REDSHIRTS speaking of REDSHIRTS, Coach Richt’s “coaching staff” REDSHIRTED Knowshon Moreno the # 2 Running Back in the United States of America from New Jersey selected in the 1st Round NFL Draft Pick, our best RB in this program in 30 years, so that we only got to see Knowshon only 2 years and then gone
41 to 14 early in the 2nd half 12 minutes into it, we put on the brakes, so you expect Hutson Mason to come in to play right ? Hell freaking no Altamahawdawg. Seemingly without a care in the world with all these hits little Aaron Murray is taking and I do mean big huge hits he is suffering.

Joe Cox 5th year senior QB last year has a chronic sore shoulder preventing him from practice at least once every single week his entire career here. He gets the flu prior to Okie State and cannot fly with the team to Stillwater, but on a private charter instead. Do we get to see Zach Mettenberger in that game, as I called for pre-game ? Hell no. Not a freshman instead of the 5th year senior Altamahawdawg.
Ken Malcome a 4-Star Recruit on the Top 25 Running Backs in America and here we are Game 7 at 2-4 and Coach Richt’s “coaching staff” is pondering their navels that just maybe I was right all along that Caleb King was no damn TANDEM of RB Georgia could COUNT ON BEING GREAT 2010. Caleb King has been here all of 2007 2008 2009 and 2010. What has he done ? Oh, they made him STARTER for all 5 of the last games of last year and to begin this season, too. After 8 games he will have 29 yards per game total average including both rushing and receiving and 1 TD, one fewer than the number of times he has been ARRESTED here. No big game against any good rush defense, has Caleb King ever done 1 damn thing. He has more games of 0 or 1 yard rushing than every football player in the history of football. HE is YOUR STARTER Altamahawdawg.
Anyone else would have long-since been kicked off this team, but NOT FAVORITE Caleb do nothing King of nothingness.
How many do you WANT sitting there hiding behind your keyboard like you know ANY of this.

Vance Cuff provides his valid 22 year old ID to them to do this. FAVORITE Vance Cuff is given NO SUSPENSION at all.

CALEB KING
accepted undeniably a loan from a former bus driver of The University of Georgia who presumably he started dating AFTER he got here (and took nude photo pics of.)
A loan of not insignificant amount of $ 500
Then, knowing full well this means he is NOT ELIGIBLE as a college football player, he threatens her, and has a Police Report made against him for said threat.
CMR told Red & Black TODAY that he was NOT AWARE that The SEC NCAA Compliance Office has had forwarded to them this well-publicized Caleb King case.
There is NO WAY that she is not a former Bus Driver at The University of Georgia.
There is NO WAY that she did not deposit directly into his account $ 300 on one occasion and handed Caleb King another $ 200 on another occasion.
There is NOTHING that Caleb King has offered up in his own defense.
There is NO WAY Caleb King was not the Starter against Louisiana Lafayette and against the vols – he only Started 2 games at TB this season and those 2 are the ONLY TWO he did START.
The AD said he doesn’t know nothing about any of this, that he is a neophyte on the entire issue but has ALL THE FACTS and just doesn’t know what the rules are in this regard.

March 6 the last day of SPRING PRACTICE before the Spring Break, she handed Caleb Darnell King $ 200 cash and went to Bank of America presented her credentials and deposited directly into his account another $300.
The following month, she asked for payment on the loan.
April began and Mr. King told victim he would not repay the victim and that he further stated if she ever made a deal about this further, that he would publish on the Internet nude photos and video of the victim.
April 27, Mr. King AGAIN REPEATED his threat to the victim.

I know enough to know that the staff has publically stated they were going to pull Davis after the third game and put in gates, but he got banged up in practise the week before and couldn’t. (yes there are actually things that happen behind the scenes that you wern’t consulted on). The fact that they ever did pull the senior to play the Freshman disproves the theory of playing senior despite somebody else possible putting them into a position to win game, now doesnt it?
I read the rest of your rants, and frankly it didnt really appear as if you had any other point. Just repeating some worn out banility there. JoeT, uh huh, there ya go. That must be the model for the entire roster for 10 years. Yea, really dug deep for that research didn’t you. Could you be more cliche? And none of that even answered my question. What you are talking about is how you “evaluated” who puts us into position to win. NOT the coaches playing somebody despite agreeing with you, but still doing so out of pure stupidity or misplaced loyalty. I’m just going to guess that maybe you and the staff might not have the same perspective and criteria as you do all the time.
I would offer to list the of underclassmen starting over upper classmen in 10 years but I assume you already have those.
And pretending that you even knew Knowshon’s name before his RSfr year doesnt make you look smart. My understanding is that coaching staff began to see him “get it” halfway through his RS year on the scout team. But sure, a handfull of carries late in the year, behind 3 future NFL players would have certainly been the smart move at THAT time. Right. Chalk one up for you perfect hindsight that you exhibit so well. Eithere way, that was not remotely a case of “loyalty” to anyone. Danny Ware was damn sure nobody favorite player. Was that your points? Um, no? Ok.
BTW, what up with the 5th alter ego this year, BuLLdawg?

Ealey’s issues weren’t just fumbles. Inability to convert short yardage and gain the tough yards were killing us.
King, average as he is, was running with authority for the first time in his career. Ealey needs to learn that breaking off a big run every now and then is NOT what gets it done in the SEC. Being able to convert those critical third downs (and stop them on defense) is what wins and loses in big time college football. He was all too often being taken down by the first tackler in those situations and that far outweighs his occasional big run capability.
I don’t know what got into King the last two games, but I hope when he comes back he continues to run with the same authority that he did. Not only will it help the Dawgs, but it might put him into first day draft consideration with his size.

NCAA investigation into King loan? From the Red&Black: “There is no definitive answer available as to whether King violated NCAA rules, but the conclusion could affect the outcome of the Bulldogs’ season — for if King played as an ineligible player, the NCAA has demonstrated before that they will not hesitate to strip away wins.
And if worst comes to worst, Georgia could forfeit the few wins it has already earned in 2010.” WHY must we alumni continue to have to put up with the situation and the school’s loss of integrity?
