Georgia-Kentucky game time set; SEC honors Murray

Georgia’s Oct. 23 football game at Kentucky will start at 7:30 p.m., the SEC said today.

The game will be televised regionally on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS).

In other news from the SEC office today, UGA quarterback Aaron Murray was named the league’s Freshman Player of the Week for his performance in Saturday’s victory over Tennessee.  Murray accounted for four touchdowns in the game, passing for two and running for two. He completed 17 of 25 passes for 266 yards.

He is the first Georgia player to receive a weekly honor from the SEC this season.

Murray will be a great player because he was that before he came to UGA, not because of Boobo’s inept coaching. Richt will have something to do with it, but not Boobo. Hopefully we will get a very qualified OC this offseason that knows how to call plays and help to develop the offensive players and hopefully knows something about recruiting. Come on people, get a clue.

Not that I’ll be going, but it’s about time that that game was, finally again, scheduled at night during the Keeneland Fall Meet. That trip is about as much fun as you can have without going to the beach for the Georgia-Florida game…plus, you can go the track on Saturday afternoon and the game that night…and that’s after going to the track on Friday afternoon as well. All that assumes you’ve got any money left…PS – I would go without the Burgoo if I were you.

And if you haven’t been to Keeneland then you’ve missed out on the most beautiful setting for thoroughbred racing imaginable…and even if you don’t care for racing, the spectacle is one you’ll never forget.

Georgia loses to Kentucky,Florida, Auburn and Georgia Tech to finish with a 5-7 record which should get Richt fired. And Dooley is the worst coach in the SEC. He is recruiting WORSE players than he inherited! Dooley will never make it at Tennessee! He is a joke of a coach!

The UK game experience has always been well attended by Bulldog Nation. The fact that the game is at night means that the track is available during the day and the game will be cold that night.

Harold, if they lose those 4 then the record will be 4-8, not 5-7. And to Murphy, the last thing you wanted was to face Kentucky in Lexington, AT NIGHT. Aaron Murray has been great. If you told me before the season started that he would be this good as a RFrosh, I would guess that 4-2 would be a worst-case scenario and that 6-0 or 5-1 would be the likely record to this point. That Georgia is 2-4 with that much production from the quarterback position is scary.

Hey bobdog, don’t know if you’ve done it before, but try to score some Clubhouse passes – probably takes someone that’s a member of the Lexington CC or Keeneland contributor – it’s a non-profit thing, or at least it was – or something, but if you can stand the smell of money then you ought to give it a whirl. Wouldn’t want to spend the whole day there, if the weather’s good, but it’s a sight to behold. Like a scene from the movie ‘Let It Ride’.

Needs are clear for UGA, now can CMR deliver?

October 11th, 2010
12:46 pm

UGA, to compete with the big boys in the SEC, (in the ACC, UGA would be equal to Va Tech,FSU and Miami) CMR needs to sign 3 ………..yes, THREE running backs that can break tackles and stay out of jail. Whether Ealey or King are available for 2011 matters not, UGA alums want them both gone. Neither one can be counted on for much ……….except trouble.

UGA also needs about 5,6 or preferably 7 or 8 big boy D and O linemen. Need two linebackers that can run too.

Here is the rub folks; Is CMR so damaged and will he be so damaged when UGA ends up around 4-8 or 6-6??? He has put HIMSELF in this position by allowing his recruiters ( now gone D coaches and Searels and Gardner ) to fail and fail in these categories. In the SEC ………….these areas always, always have to be recruited successfully and CMR has not done that.

His teams are well suited for the sissy ACC league. Finess and such can win there.

Go Dogs.

You Dawg fans who keep repeating “30-24″ like a mantra enjoy yourselves all you want. The thing is… Tech alumni and fans have lives that don’t depend entirely on what a bunch of kids does on Saturday afternoons. College sports are fun to follow, but the biggest reason for going to college is to get an education.

UGA fans don’t seem to care about anything but football, and they don’t care if their players are enrolled in silly majors that no parents who are paying the bills would send their kids to UGA for. The very few football and basketball players who graduate have no job opportunities and end up unemployed or working in menial jobs that hardly require a college degree.

Georgia Tech is a real school with serious academic standards, and that includes scholarshipped athletes. UGA has a long history of being a party school, where parents send their kids for an easy degree, even if the degree itself is practically worthless.

Jan Kemp exposed the crap going on at UGA with athletes being enrolled in courses a ten-year-old kid could pass. That was almost three decades ago, and nothing has changed. If anything, the abuses are more blatant today. Way too many illiterate morons are being recruited, and the very high arrest rate shows clearly that Richt does not care if his players have any morals or self-discipline.

The bottom line is that most Tech fans have very good jobs and productive lives that don’t depend on Tech’s football record for their happiness in life. It would be great to beat UGA more often, but when you put scholar-athletes up against dummy-athletes, it’s usually no contest.

It’s pretty pathetic to see UGA fans who typically have never been within miles of a college classroom and who live or die with UGA’s weekly results on the football field.

So keep on posting your “30-24″ all you want, especially since you’re home with plenty of time on your hands. I wish you well, maybe you’ll get lucky and get your old job back at the Waffle House before your unemployment checks stop coming.

I think I made a big mistake coaching this year! I should have stayed on vacation!

Mork Recht

October 11th, 2010

In the 1986 Jan Kemp trial, O. Hale Almand Jr., a lawyer for UGA, offered a justification for the favorable treatment accorded the athletes, citing a hypothetical player. “We may not make a university student out of him,” he told the jury, “but if we can teach him to read and write, maybe he can work at the post office rather than as a garbageman when he gets through with his athletic career.”

That trial exposed UGA for the football factory that it was, and exposed Vince Dooley as a fraud and a sleazebag. It also derailed Dooley’s plans for a political career. That’s why we see the decrepit old fraud doing TV commercials even now.

Mark Richt is just the latest in a line of sleazy UGA coaches who coddle athletes and discard them after four years of football. He recruits illiterate morons he knows aren’t smart enough for college, but he doesn’t care, as long as they help him line his pockets with millions of dollars each year.

Suntanned Saint Mark isn’t all he appears to be, is he?

Mork……”Vince Dooley a fraud and a sleazebag (sic)” Good one. George O’Leary coached how many years at GT under a fabricated resume? Answer: 8 years. It took the folks at Notre Dame less than 72 hours to figure out that his resume was full of fabrications. One school he listed for his masters, didn’t even exist, claimed he lettered in football, did not even play….. But, he was HC at GT for 8 years.

Dooley was no saint….but his record, on and off the field, along with his 1963 MASTERS DEGREE are all genuine. You might want to upgrade the glass in your house before you throw another stone this way.

The Irony of this coming from a Canes fan is just too much for words!

How’d that 38-17 beatdown from Jimbo and the boys taste?

I have DirecTV. I ordered the sports pack at the beginning of the season. It’s $12.99/month, but sometimes they will give you a discount if you keep it for 3 months. Either way, that’s cheaper than one day’s worth of ESPN Gameplan. Here’s the link that lists the CSS channels on DirecTV – http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/content/sports/sports_pack?footernavtype=-1

We received our “first” award from the SEC this year? That’s not true. We decisively won the Fulmer Cup this year and we have broken our own arrest record this year with 11 arrests. Come on SEC, give us some love!

Go Canes,
1. the very fact that you are hanging out on a UGA blog shows that we are more relevant than you. Doubt you will find any Dawg fans on a Canes blog.
2. Yeah we lost to those teams and the fact you know it proves how obsessed you are with all things UGA.

Why is that? Sounds like you are suffering from peni$ envy?

Now again little boy, run along.

ESPN Midseason Overview
http://espn.go.com/blog/ncfnation/tag/_/name/2010-midseason-overview

“Biggest disappointment: Georgia

Even though the Bulldogs wrestled out from under their four-game losing streak last week with a 41-14 win against Tennessee, they’ve still woefully underachieved this season. Redshirt freshman quarterback Aaron Murray has been one of the bright spots. He sure isn’t the reason Georgia’s 2-4 heading into the second half of the season. It’s more an offensive line that hasn’t lived up to its billing, critical fumbles by the running backs and a defense that has given up way too many big plays.”

And the immature bulldog loser that stole my blog name, georgia was not in every game that they lost, 17-6 to south carolina is not close and 24-12 to hold on MISSISSIPPI STATE is not close at all, hell colorado almost blew you guys out

Ok Go Canes I tried to be nice but here’s some FACTS for you to digest. And for goodnes sakes TRY to think before you respond, and TRY to come up with something more creative than “UGA sucks” or “you suck” or “you’re a loser” that is if you’re older than 6.

1. True anyone can come on this blog just as I COULD go on a Canes blog, but why would I, I’m a Dawg fan and don’t really care about the Canes. BTW the title of THIS blog which is in the UGA SPORTS section is: “Georgia-Kentucky game time set; SEC honors Murray”, but don’t let that get in your way.

2. Miss St or the “cupcake” as you call them could probably beat most teams in the ACC. Heck, last year mediocre UGA and SC teams beat your conference division champions (Clemson & GT) last year, and last I checked it’s been a while since an ACC team has beaten a SEC team in football.

3. the mighty canes got beat by Ohio St who is 0-9 all time vs the SEC, and you got BLOWN OUT 45-17 to an FSU team that got BLOWN OUT by Oklahoma 47-17.The rest of Mighty Noles’ wins have come against:
SAMford, 2-4 BYU, 2-4 Wake, and 2-3 Virginia.

But don’t let the facts get in your way.

WOW GO DAWGS here is a fact for you to digest

It may be shown on an alternate feed in the DirecTV Sports Pack. If you have the ESPN GamePlan for the SEC I think the blackouts (as a part of the new TV deal) are waived except for PPV only games.

You know Go Canes considering both schools aren’t living up to expectations this is really a pointless argument.

Now I will root for both teams to wind up in the Gator Bowl so we can see who the better team is. For the sake of your sanity you’d better hope that doesn’t happen!

I know we are irrelevant in football but we did real well in the late 80’s and early 2000. We actually use to win conference titles. I know we haven’t done that in like 10 years but we are getting better. And I also know winning the ACC Chipper is like being the fastest turtle!

Just to clarify Caleb’s arrest all speeding tickets have court appearances you can just pay the fine instead of appearing. if you don’t pay then you are charged with failure to appear. Not quite as bad as stalking threatening to kill, passed out drunk at red lights, breaking into impound yards, firing AK 47s, using dead persons credit card, choking women etc., Washington Stae’s players just arrested for haing 38 pot plants in their house. GA players tend to get arrested for traffice violations overlooked or not reported in other states. there was report out of FL that Urban’s players had 250 traffic violations.

You Tech fans who keep repeating “45-42″ like a mantra enjoy yourselves all you want. The thing is… UGA alumni and fans have lives that don’t depend entirely on what a bunch of kids does on Saturday afternoons. College sports are fun to follow, but the biggest reason for going to college is to get an education.
Tech fans don’t seem to care about anything but football, and they don’t care if their players are enrolled in silly majors that no parents who are paying the bills would send their kids to Tech for. The very few football and basketball players who graduate have no job opportunities and end up unemployed or working in menial jobs that hardly require a college degree.
UGA is a real school with serious academic standards, and that includes scholarshipped athletes. Tech has a long history of being a nerd school, where parents send their kids to get picked on by bullies, even if the degree itself is practically worthless.
Jan Kemp exposed the crap going on at UGA with athletes being enrolled in courses a ten-year-old kid could pass. That was a good thing in the long run as it caused UGA to improve their academics. Tech was placed on NCAA probation for academic violations in 2005 and still has not improved.
The bottom line is that most UGA fans have very good jobs and productive lives that don’t depend on UGA’s football record for their happiness in life. It is great to beat Tech every year, but when you put scholar-athletes up against nerds, it’s usually no contest.
It’s pretty pathetic to see Tech fans who typically have never been within miles of a college classroom and who live or die with Tech’s weekly results on the football field.
So keep on posting your “45-42″ all you want, especially since you’re home with plenty of time on your hands. I wish you well, maybe you’ll get lucky and get your old job back at the Waffle House before your unemployment checks stop coming.
