Georgia-Kentucky game time set; SEC honors Murray

Georgia’s Oct. 23 football game at Kentucky will start at 7:30 p.m., the SEC said today.

The game will be televised regionally on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS).

In other news from the SEC office today, UGA quarterback Aaron Murray was named the league’s Freshman Player of the Week for his performance in Saturday’s victory over Tennessee.  Murray accounted for four touchdowns in the game, passing for two and running for two. He completed 17 of 25 passes for 266 yards.

He is the first Georgia player to receive a weekly honor from the SEC this season.

Aaron will become a terrific all around quarterback in a short period of time with his skill set and our good quarterback coaching.

Murray is the best player on this team.

Think Meyer wouldn’t give his right arm to have Murray now?

Told you so.

Murray will be a great player because he was that before he came to UGA, not because of Boobo’s inept coaching. Richt will have something to do with it, but not Boobo. Hopefully we will get a very qualified OC this offseason that knows how to call plays and help to develop the offensive players and hopefully knows something about recruiting. Come on people, get a clue.

You can get the game with Direct TV; just order the college sports package ($3.18 per month) for a month and cancel it afterwards.

Not that I’ll be going, but it’s about time that that game was, finally again, scheduled at night during the Keeneland Fall Meet. That trip is about as much fun as you can have without going to the beach for the Georgia-Florida game…plus, you can go the track on Saturday afternoon and the game that night…and that’s after going to the track on Friday afternoon as well. All that assumes you’ve got any money left…PS – I would go without the Burgoo if I were you.

And if you haven’t been to Keeneland then you’ve missed out on the most beautiful setting for thoroughbred racing imaginable…and even if you don’t care for racing, the spectacle is one you’ll never forget.

Georgia loses to Kentucky,Florida, Auburn and Georgia Tech to finish with a 5-7 record which should get Richt fired. And Dooley is the worst coach in the SEC. He is recruiting WORSE players than he inherited! Dooley will never make it at Tennessee! He is a joke of a coach!

It leaves Dish customers out in the cold, because CSS is available ONLY through cable. Don’t worry about it though, all you will miss is LOSS #5, with #6 coming to the Gators the next week. #7 will be on Nov. 13 to Auburn, and #8 ????????

Oh, I forgot Marcus Lattimore is a TRUE Freshman and rushed for 2 touchdowns and ran for one against the 2nd best defense in the SEC. Murray against the 12th (Humm?)

By the way, Is Marlon Brown ready to Transfer yet?

The UK game experience has always been well attended by Bulldog Nation. The fact that the game is at night means that the track is available during the day and the game will be cold that night.

Hopefully, we can outscore them because as auburn found out, they can score some points.

Harold, if they lose those 4 then the record will be 4-8, not 5-7. And to Murphy, the last thing you wanted was to face Kentucky in Lexington, AT NIGHT. The pups heve no defensive answer for Cobb, Hartline, and the rest of the Wildcat offense, and the I do not think that they have enough firepower to match them point for point.

Aaron Murray has been great. If you told me before the season started that he would be this good as a RFrosh, I would guess that 4-2 would be a worst-case scenario and that 6-0 or 5-1 would be the likely record to this point. That Georgia is 2-4 with that much production from the quarterback position is scary.

Hey bobdog, don’t know if you’ve done it before, but try to score some Clubhouse passes – probably takes someone that’s a member of the Lexington CC or Keeneland contributor – it’s a non-profit thing, or at least it was – or something, but if you can stand the smell of money then you ought to give it a whirl. Wouldn’t want to spend the whole day there, if the weather’s good, but it’s a sight to behold. Like a scene from the movie ‘Let It Ride’.

Needs are clear for UGA, now can CMR deliver?

October 11th, 2010
12:46 pm

UGA, to compete with the big boys in the SEC, (in the ACC, UGA would be equal to Va Tech,FSU and Miami) CMR needs to sign 3 ………..yes, THREE running backs that can break tackles and stay out of jail. Whether Ealey or King are available for 2011 matters not, UGA alums want them both gone. Neither one can be counted on for much ……….except trouble.

UGA also needs about 5,6 or preferably 7 or 8 big boy D and O linemen. Need two linebackers that can run too.

Here is the rub folks; Is CMR so damaged and will he be so damaged when UGA ends up around 4-8 or 6-6??? He has put HIMSELF in this position by allowing his recruiters ( now gone D coaches and Searels and Gardner ) to fail and fail in these categories. In the SEC ………….these areas always, always have to be recruited successfully and CMR has not done that.

His teams are well suited for the sissy ACC league. Finess and such can win there.

Go Dogs.

Why does everyone think Hutson Mason is the next coming of David Greene? He was going to redshirt if Mettenberger had stayed? He wasn’t one of the top QB recruits last year. He wasn’t a early enrollee so he has a lot of learning to do. He looked good in his one pass for a touchdown against a pitiful Louisiana lafayette. Let’s get behind Murray and stop with the Mason worship already!

Let’s see-
Ealey– fumbleitis and no elusiveness
King– elusiveness- especially with regard to accepting responsibility and paying a damn speeding fine
Thomas- too small and hurt
Malcome- ??

We better get Crowell or we will bve in deeper doo doo next year for sure.

I agree about needing to recruit running backs ealey and king would be very good compliments to give a star a break but neither one of them can take the team on his back and control the ball like a Latimore , go a recruit some bruisers that run over people forget what stars they rate out if they are strong as a bull and like contact and dont fumble sign them .
sorry about the rant but i am tired of seeing even in a win we hit some one and they fall forward they hit us and we drop like a sack. tired of it we need to be stronger as a team period.

You Dawg fans who keep repeating “30-24″ like a mantra enjoy yourselves all you want. The thing is… Tech alumni and fans have lives that don’t depend entirely on what a bunch of kids does on Saturday afternoons. College sports are fun to follow, but the biggest reason for going to college is to get an education.

UGA fans don’t seem to care about anything but football, and they don’t care if their players are enrolled in silly majors that no parents who are paying the bills would send their kids to UGA for. The very few football and basketball players who graduate have no job opportunities and end up unemployed or working in menial jobs that hardly require a college degree.

Georgia Tech is a real school with serious academic standards, and that includes scholarshipped athletes. UGA has a long history of being a party school, where parents send their kids for an easy degree, even if the degree itself is practically worthless.

Jan Kemp exposed the crap going on at UGA with athletes being enrolled in courses a ten-year-old kid could pass. That was almost three decades ago, and nothing has changed. If anything, the abuses are more blatant today. Way too many illiterate morons are being recruited, and the very high arrest rate shows clearly that Richt does not care if his players have any morals or self-discipline.

The bottom line is that most Tech fans have very good jobs and productive lives that don’t depend on Tech’s football record for their happiness in life. It would be great to beat UGA more often, but when you put scholar-athletes up against dummy-athletes, it’s usually no contest.

It’s pretty pathetic to see UGA fans who typically have never been within miles of a college classroom and who live or die with UGA’s weekly results on the football field.

So keep on posting your “30-24″ all you want, especially since you’re home with plenty of time on your hands. I wish you well, maybe you’ll get lucky and get your old job back at the Waffle House before your unemployment checks stop coming.

I think I made a big mistake coaching this year! I should have stayed on vacation!

Mork Recht

In the 1986 Jan Kemp trial, O. Hale Almand Jr., a lawyer for UGA, offered a justification for the favorable treatment accorded the athletes, citing a hypothetical player. “We may not make a university student out of him,” he told the jury, “but if we can teach him to read and write, maybe he can work at the post office rather than as a garbageman when he gets through with his athletic career.”

That trial exposed UGA for the football factory that it was, and exposed Vince Dooley as a fraud and a sleazebag. It also derailed Dooley’s plans for a political career. That’s why we see the decrepit old fraud doing TV commercials even now.

Mark Richt is just the latest in a line of sleazy UGA coaches who coddle athletes and discard them after four years of football. He recruits illiterate morons he knows aren’t smart enough for college, but he doesn’t care, as long as they help him line his pockets with millions of dollars each year.

Suntanned Saint Mark isn’t all he appears to be, is he?
