LB Washington, RB Thomas won’t play today

  • Outside linebacker Cornelius Washington and tailback Carlton Thomas won’t play for Georgia in today’s game against Tennessee. Washington is out because of a concussion and Thomas because of a strained hamstring, UGA says.
  • Players previously known to be out for today’s game include cornerback-punt returner Branden Smith (concussion), wide receiver Marlon Brown (shoulder) and linebacker Richard Samuel, who hasn’t played all season (knee).
  • Freshman Kenarious Gates was announced as the starter at right guard. Other starters on the offensive line: LT Trinton Sturdivant, LG Cordy Glenn, C Ben Jones and RT Clint Boling.
  • Spotted on the field: Tennessee coach Derek Dooley chatting with Mike Cavan, a member of the UGA Athletic Association fund-raising staff. When Cavan was head coach at SMU, he helped launch Dooley’s coaching career by hiring him as an assistant in 1997.

I just read where the neighborhood surrounding the Georgia Tech campus is the 7th most dangerous neighborhood in the UNited States, in terms of violent crimes. If you live there for a year, you have a 1 in 9 chance of becoming a victim.

All of a sudden making fun of UGA for being a party school and crazy college town doesn’t seem that insulting does it?? Reality is a wake up call.

Read it for yourself….. http://www.walletpop.com/blog/2010/10/04/25-most-dangerous-neighborhoods-2010/

As I see it, the only way UGA can beat TN is to have Barbara Dooley making tackles for UGA.

I will not predict the score. That has been a disaster thus far. What I will do is pull extremely hard for my beloved dawgs who have not played to their potential in any game this year but the 1st. They have the talent but have not shown the heart and have not been given the proper tools by the coaching staff. Let’s hope they paly lights out today and turn this season around one game at a time and build momentum starting today. Go Dawgs!

these are above average kids physically, for sure, but kids nonetheless….they love the dawgs and wouldn’t be here if they didn’t….when you think about calling them names, just remember they are kids and that one of them, Shawn Williams, comes from a very rural S.Ga county where life is very hard financially…and think about the fact that he and his family must drive one way, 20 miles, just to go to a grocery store of any size…think about the fact that he and the other members of his family lost their entire history when it comes to possessions when they suffered a recent total loss when their family home burned…cheer when they give good effort, regardless of the result…maybe, just maybe, they will be rewarded for a change…go dawgs!…

We have a good team. They’ve just been losing games. Remember, we have a brand new quarterback and a brand new defense. It’s coming along.

I’d still like to see Richt calling the plays.

Thomas has a pulled hamstring? I didn’t know you could get a pulled hammy by just running into the middle of a pile. Then again, at least he hasn’t fumbled a game away.

If Richt get off his Lazy ass and keeps “Coaching his ass off”, the Dawgs can return to their former glory. If he goes back into that CEO (meaning semi-retirement mode), the dawgs will continue down their downward spiral. Coaching is hard, demanding, time cousuming, THAT’S WHY THEY PAY YOU MILLIONS!!!!

Attention, everyone, especially dawgtards. We will now observe a moment of silence in memory of Saint Jan Kemp, who exposed the shameful practices at UGA that were initiated and carried out by slimeball Vince Dooley. Dooley’s image as a coach and a nice guy were forever shattered during the trial, not to mention the one million dollars that dawgtards had to pay Saint Jan. These practices of recruiting morons and coddling them for four years, them tossing them out like garbage, are still going on, but at least the world knows what’s happening in Athens now.

And now, the moment of silence…

I wonder if any of the books about UGA football include the perspective of someone speaking for the late Jan Kemp? The perspective that “student” athletes like Lindsay Scott were playing years without taking college level courses? That the proudest moment of the football program was earned by players who never earned a single college credit?

Dawgtards love to return to 1980, but their memories are really short when it comes to remembering an earthshaking event that happened a few years later that showed the world what a joke UGA athletes were and what a scam artist their beloved Vince Dooley was (and is). So for all those dawgtards with short memories or who think their athletes are actually taking real courses and trying to graduate, here’s the quote that broke the trial wide open and showed what a slimeball Dooley is:

O. Hale Almand Jr., a lawyer for the defense, offered a justification for the favorable treatment accorded the athletes, citing a hypothetical player. “We may not make a university student out of him,” he told the jury, “but if we can teach him to read and write, maybe he can work at the post office rather than as a garbageman when he gets through with his athletic career.”

Nothing has changed at UGA, they just do a slightly better job of keeping things quiet, but that’s hard to do when 44 of your player-thugs have been arrested, isn’t it?

Finally. I think its safe to say there’s a team in the SEC that is worse than the dawgs. A win is a win no matter what. Yet, I see MO shut out CO. Go figure. KY came real close to beating Aub. From the way they played they’ll be tough to beat in lexington.

Glad they won just wonder how they’ll play in the coming weeks.
