More bad news for wide receivers (updated)

(Updated Wednesday night)

For the sixth consecutive game, Georgia won’t have its full corps of wide receivers available Saturday against Tennessee.

Sophomore Marlon Brown won’t play because of a shoulder injury suffered during Georgia’s practice on Monday, coach Mark Richt said Wednesday.

That continues a string of bad news for the Bulldogs’ wide receivers.

Georgia played the first four games of the season without A.J. Green, who was suspended by the NCAA for selling his Independence Bowl jersey, and the fifth game without Kris Durham, who was sidelined with what he called a stretched nerve in his neck. Also, Tavarres King missed the first game because of a suspension for an underage-possession-of-alcohol arrest.

Durham has said he hopes and plans to play against Tennessee Saturday, but he practiced in a green non-contact jersey Tuesday and Wednesday. Richt said after Wednesday’s practice that Durham’s chances of playing Saturday are 50-50.

Brown has caught seven passes for 92 yards this season. In last week’s 29-27 loss at Colorado, he caught the first touchdown pass of his UGA career.

Let’s cut to the chase, No team goes through he season without an injury. No team goes through a season without penalties. No team goes through a season without turnovers. The difference is good teams overcome these things and bad teams use them as excuses.

YES I am a RACIST. I think the SEC schools use black students for sports and money but don’t diliver an opportunity for miniorities to get a good education unless they play a sport. The SEC schools (Southern Excellent Caucasions) want White girls to get white boys to fill a stadium to watch black boys play a game. Hey, if the Asians can make some money for the school in grants then more power to them. LOOK AT THE ### SEC schools educate white kids. ACC schools give more kids of color a chance to get an education. Look at the number of PROs comes from the schools. *% football players on schooly and 15 Bball players on scholly each year but how many are playing a PRO sport?

LOL. That’s some serious hate. What’s funny is that the Georgia fans/alums got a little chuckle out of that post. That kind of stuff eases the pain of 1-4. One of the worst teams being fielded in FBS right now is creating a lot of excitement. Fans storming the field. Tech fans losing their mind. LOL, what a silly post. Thanks, made me smile tonight….

So Tech has more students from the mid east and such.
What about that 7% vs. 6% Black thing? If the ACC is so proud of
the education it bestows upon African Americans why only 7%?
You’re argument is based on 14% more “other” and only 1% more “Black” students.
I ask, What is the point? You respond with some blather about SEC schools using their 6% for sports while claiming ACC(GT) schools do not because they have more “other” students. Do you see the confusion this may cause a reasonably educated and sober human being?

**** “Well, they’re losing a lot of games and have a lot of people getting arrested,” Crowell said of Georgia. “There’s just a lot of things going wrong. I do want to play right away but I also want to be where it’s disciplined and they win championships.” ****

Run a 4-3 defense for the rest of the season.

Keep Murray in shotgun…get C.Thomas into space. Run wide sets to spread the field, cause we obviously cant run between the tackles…and take the handcuffs off Murray. Let him do what he does best. If we continue to keep him in the pocket, we’ll get nowhere!!!

Highly encourage the staff to implement some of the pistol formation being used by teams. We have the athletes to run it. UCF looked great last nite running it.

college football is great.in an eye lash programs go from the pent house to the outhouse and then reverse it the next year.Florida can easily lose to L.S.U., then the winner of the East will probably go to Atlanta with 3 losses (and it will be a tie breaker).Relax Dawgs,Gators, etc. Alabama is the team and nobody remembers 2nd 3rd and so on.Andd that’s where the East is at right now.

Here’s something positive to report on.

Georgia’s #2 in the nation for field goal %.

Why not wirte a nice little article about that?

P.S. Is it really worth a whole article to report that a part-time receiver, who’s averaging 1 catch a game for less than 20 yards a game, will be out? Me don’t think that’s big news.

Tim:

You need a day off to refresh your spirit big guy.

Normally, your articles have some level of optimism in them. But lately, you’re just pumping out 1 negastive article after another.

Ask yourself:
Is EVERYTHING going on at Georgia right now ALL BAD?
Where is Georgia improving?
What positive things are going on at Georgia?

We own you

Tech fans can say what they want but we own you. So every time you talk your smack about how bad we are just remember that still makes us better than you. Tech should try playing a real schedule and then we can talk. You can’t compare the two. Your fans don’t even care enough to show up becuase your schedule is so boring.

Georgia made a $45 million dollar profit in 2009.

More than Alabama, more than Florida, more than LSU.

Congrats on wiping out the competition again Coach Richt.

More good news for the receivers.

1- Georgia is ranked 4th in SEC in passing
2- Georgia has averaged 40 more yards passing per game than Florida
3- Georgia is only averaged 8 yards passing less per game than Alabama

This is playing 4 games without AJ Green. Amazing.

I agree that we have an overabundance of wealth at TE. We have a blocking TE (Figgins) we SHOULD be able to run a toss sweep.

We have Aaron White, but his tendancy to drop passes has kinda scared Aaron from throwing to him.

Murray does try to throw to Orson on every play.

Our young QB is very good and very competitive, but he cannot yet check down quickly enough to hit open recievers; be it TE’s, or WR’s. His completions have been primarily to backs and TE’s. Not enough to WR’s.
