More bad news for wide receivers (updated)

(Updated Wednesday night)

For the sixth consecutive game, Georgia won’t have its full corps of wide receivers available Saturday against Tennessee.

Sophomore Marlon Brown won’t play because of a shoulder injury suffered during Georgia’s practice on Monday, coach Mark Richt said Wednesday.

That continues a string of bad news for the Bulldogs’ wide receivers.

Georgia played the first four games of the season without A.J. Green, who was suspended by the NCAA for selling his Independence Bowl jersey, and the fifth game without Kris Durham, who was sidelined with what he called a stretched nerve in his neck. Also, Tavarres King missed the first game because of a suspension for an underage-possession-of-alcohol arrest.

Durham has said he hopes and plans to play against Tennessee Saturday, but he practiced in a green non-contact jersey Tuesday and Wednesday. Richt said after Wednesday’s practice that Durham’s chances of playing Saturday are 50-50.

Brown has caught seven passes for 92 yards this season. In last week’s 29-27 loss at Colorado, he caught the first touchdown pass of his UGA career.

Only a Tech fan will bring up the score of a game 2 years ago in order to gain leverage in an argument, when they got beat by the same team since the win they are trying to quote.

Once again, Techies… thanks for visiting the UGA blog, to try and feel better about yourselves. Dawg Nation will not implode they way you fantasize.

If UGA had your schedule, it would be very interesting to see what their record is right now…..

Does anybody knw the last bowl win for Tech? And against who? Wasn’t it on a blue turf? Or did they lose that one too, in front of the 400 “fans” who bought tickets?

A big difference in the UGA blog rooms and the Tech blog rooms:

In UGA blog room, fans do indeed talk smack about Tech. They are an in state rival whom fanbases hate, so yes, smack is talked.

In a Tech blog room, the article is usually about UGA, because of the obsession coming out of Tech “Nation” over all things Dawgs, PLUS the “fans” only talk about UGA.

Sanford Drive you are the biggest fool of them all.

Can you not read? UGA having loyal fans? you are a good example
of why my baby will not go to UGA and waste his education opportunities.

The reason we are going to BAMA is because we know you are running
Reverend Richt out of town… just a matter of when.

UGA’s biggest problems are:
1. Strength and Conditioning Program. Too Many Injuries Too many time getting blown off the ball. The Strength and Conditioning program should also build and develop “MENTAL TOUGHNESS” It is very apparent the program is not changing and developing any kinds of toughness at all.
2. UGA’s Coaching Staff inablility to make changes during a game. Too many times I have UGA run 1 play out of 1 formation and that formation alone. UGA’s staff appears to have a wait…wait….wait approach to coaching….this is how the players are playing too.

3. UGA’s Coaching staff inability to recruit good players that are great people. I realize that college students are not going to go to Church evey Sunday and Stay in his or her room every night studying, but come on There has been too many arrest…..2 Problems UGA brings in 5 star recruits not 5 star people..also the players do not fear Richt and his passive laid back persona……

Not sure who you talk to but I hope Carlton Thomas is limited on plays. He is not a big time Divison 1 back. Falls down at contact. I like the kids spirit and think he tries hard enough but this isn’t pop warner football.

King ran like a beast Saturday. He averaged over 9 yards a carry and pass blocks better. I think he is my favorite. The one who produces!

I guess if the dawgs were hitting all summer the players would be a lil tougher by week 6 of the season. It must be bad when UGA players can tackle their own players in practice but can’t do it to other teams players in a game. I know it ain’t great at TECH but it is better than UGA.
I read somewhere on here that the Mascot of the Loser of this game has to eat the road kill possum because they will be 0 for in the SEC.

Sanford drive, just because every HS dropout inbred in the state goes to Wal Mart & buys a camo-car flag with a G on it does not signify “trumping” Tech in any way. You’re the typical redneck that gives UGA fans a bad rap.

It’s ok. These are the same fans who talk trash about UF (who’s won 17 out of the last 20)

Multiple SEC teams have won National Titles since UGA won their last one.

Alabama, UF, LSU and Auburn are each top 15 teams. UGA has lost in their last games played against South Carolina, Arkansas, Florida, Alabama, LSU, UT and Kentucky. (Over half of the SEC right there)

But don’t worry, help must be on the way because Ol’ Herschel is posing nude and Mark Richt is taking suggestions (and implementing them) from female callers on his radio show!

I understand we haven’t had a great year at all! We are all mad about it. But, I’m so sick and tired of every HEADLINE being so negative!! I know and realize things don’t and haven’t looked great, but I guess that comes with the territory! We need a win and maybe, just maybe, the AJC people will print something a little less negative. I guess what it does is get people to read the article and then start popping off about CMR, CTG, players, etc… I for one have had it with all the negativity! Can’t someone find something good to write about? I know I’ve opened a can of worms with this from anyone who may read this, but I’ve had about enough of the negative news. AJC…put something positive in here. NOW…all Tech, Bama, Florida, SC, UT, Auburn people start slamming the Dawgs, me and any other of us blind homers, who back the Dawgs no matter what! I guess a WIN will cure a lot!

Thanks, I wish you could reel in some of your fans comments. I know it hurt losing to Kansas. Those games hurt the worse because you are suppose to win them. MSU & Colorado were just damn shames. Arkansas and SC were “just another day in the SEC” as Les Miles likes to put it.
