ATHENS – Despite Georgia’s 1-4 record, Vegas oddsmakers have the Bulldogs as a heavy favorite over Tennessee on Saturday in Sanford Stadium. One line had the Dogs as a 13-point favorite earlier this week.
“We’re a 13-point favorite?” coach Mark Richt replied, incredulously, when I brought that up. “Wow! Hope they’re right. Are you kidding me? I don’t look at those things, I really don’t, but wow.”
By Tuesday afternoon, Georgia had dropped to a 12-point favorite.
Tennessee was a 16-point underdog to LSU last week but lost by just two points on the final play of the game.
The Vols, like the Bulldogs, are seeking their first SEC victory of the season. Tennessee is 2-3 overall, 0-2 in the conference. This is the first Georgia-Tennessee game since 1906 that both teams enter with a losing record.

All of the emotion has to be with UT. They played a much better team to a draw and almost had Dooley’s first signature win. On paper UGA looks better, but on the field who knows? Will be fun for one team anyway.

The Fulmer Cup Tiffany Crystal Handcuff will be presented at haltime of Saturday’s game. Be there and bring your camera for photos with the players that helped win the CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY after the game. They will at least have the proper look on their faces after the game. They will stay and sign all MUG SHOT photos fans bring to the game.

Browndog – That is UGA’s problem. I believe some of the players think the game is played on paper. Also Vegas is about like recruiting services, they make mistakes too. UGA should be favored because they are at home and that is it.

you must not follow lines much because the most they ever move without a major injury is a couple of points. It won’t go below 11.

UGAs +spread will stay at 1/2 point off a Field Goal # score. 91/2, 31/2, 61/2, or 121/2. If we hear Walsh gets hurt and can’t play it will move to a 1/12 point game for UGA being at home.

UGA is like the Falcons. Against weaker teams alway take the points because both teams play down to the competition. If you get UGA and +8 or more then Take the dawgs and the points. the dawgs almost always have a little fight in them.

Richard, you sir are a moron. Georgia ran the same play any other team would have ran in that same situation. What would you have them do, play-action endzone fade? That play and the misexecution of that play lands soley on Georgia’s players (mainly King) for lack of focus and awareness of the situation. Let your grandmother post next time.

Listen if Crowell or any other recruit does not want to come to Georgia…so be it. If Paul Johnson can win with three star recruits at Yech, then I damn well expect the Dawgs to win with whatever players they recruit.
As for the RB from Columbus not wanting to come to Georgia because players are arrested for drinking, he is probably safer at BAMA. Cause you damn well know there is underage drinking going on at Tuscaloosa but funny no arrests. And dont tell me it ain’t happening because that is a bunch of BS.
It happens at every school. When I was the manager of my college basketball team, we lost in the regionals because 3/4ths of our team was drinking and smoking hootie weed, and banging cheerleaders in the hotel before the game. The coaches said it was my job to watch out for the players and make sure they were clean for the game. I had a better chance of building an ark and collecting 2 of every species on the planet then making sure they were sober at gametime.
Dawgs win ( hey you got to believe) but cover that spread. NO way!
Dawg fans, keep the faith.

FLA DAWG, Tennessee put “the hurt” on LSU because Les Miles is a complete moron who can’t coach. If he had lost that game (and he should have), he would have been fired. No doubt. Miles is lucky, I’ll give you that, but luck runs out eventually.

BamaDave,
You guys will win the NC again this year – congrats.
It is amazing Miles has won so much while being inept.
If you watched the game you know UT played with LSU for 4 quarters.
UGA has not played a full game in at least three years against a tough opponent.
UT made mistakes but those kids (13 starters) have great heart, dedication and know they can win.
My Dawgs are still looking for the field.
When they find it this weekend in Sanford Stadium they will lose to UT by 21 or more.

BamaDave, Dodd left the SEC because he felt the conference was nothing more than a “yes man” to Bryant. Bryant’s approach to football (this is war, not a game) led to some unnecessary physical contact that left a Tech player seriously injured. The SEC did nothing when Dodd complained. Dodd left…

That, and the fact that Bryant and the majority of the SEC coaches consistently over-recruited and then left kids in the lurch when they didn’t make the cut. Most unethical bunch of asshats in college football.

Vince the prince- Caleb’s only fumbled the ball once ona play when UGA was going to score. Washaun has fumbled on the 1 twice. Caleb is a better all around back…as far as being better at ball security, & blocking, which is something we need. Caleb also did have 100 yrds. rushing in that game as well. I think they’re both pretty good, but I just don’t see why you would get on King when he made 1 mistake…when washaun has made more.

JacketFan, Sounds a lot like sour grapes.
Man Enough, if memory serves, didn’t your coach finish the season # 2 in the country a couple years ago. I heard Reese Davis say the other day that Mark Richt had won more games in his 9 years at Georgia than 97% of all other NCAA coaches. That’s not luck.
FlaDawg, Les Miles began his career at LSU with Saban-recruited, Saban-trained players. He then won a NC with the same players. After that he went 8-5 and 9-4. Sound similar to Mark Richt’s record that everyone is complaining about? I never hear any real Georgia fans calling for Richt’s resignation. It’s usually trolls on these boards who pretend to be UGA fans because they are always getting beat by teams he coaches. Take Georgia Tech, Richt and Florida State beat them like a drum. Now he’s still beating them at Georgia nearly every year. They hate him. Don’t sweat it. you’ve got a good coach who’s just been snake-bit the past year or two. He’ll be back. He won’t beat Bama again, but he’ll be back.

Caleb was a PIMP in High School. He left the High School he was at to go to the Leman Bennet Christ of Christ (same church as Dr. Adams) Greater Atlanta Christian to get in UGA. Do you really think King cares about? He wants to go NFL. GAC is full of ex-Falcons and it is not a Chruch or Christ anything but a name. GAC is like Holy Innocence. The Church that started these schools have little to do with the schools now. Holy Innocence is full of more Jews than Episcoples. GAC is full of money loving Ex-Athletes than Church of Christ followers.

Saban’s last season at LSU was in 2004 which means the players on the 2007 squad were freshmen in 2004. I give Nick credit for recruiting them but I doubt he much to do with their development since he only had them one season. And most of them redshirted anyway.
