Georgia-Vanderbilt game time set

Georgia will have no more than one home football game,  if any, played at night this season.

The Bulldogs’ Oct. 16 game against Vanderbilt in Sanford Stadium will start at 12:21 p.m. and be televised on the SEC Network, it was announced today. That means the Dogs’ first five home games this season have been scheduled in the noon hour.

The Sept. 4 season opener against Louisiana-Lafayette started at 12:21 p.m. and the Sept. 18 game against Arkansas at noon. Saturday’s game against Tennessee is scheduled for a 12:21 p.m. start and the Nov. 6 game against Idaho State for a 12:30 p.m. start.

That leaves only one UGA home game for which the starting time has not been set: the Nov. 27 game against Georgia Tech.

Starting times are driven by TV, depending on which network picks up each game. The next two Georgia games (Tennessee and Vanderbilt) will be on the SEC Network.

Georgia has played night games on the road the past two weeks at Mississippi State and Colorado.

We’re lucky that anyone even waants to show the game.
Believe this game comes on right after a retrospective of
the Keystone Cops, followed by a tribute to Wile E Coyote

This is big time UGA football, you have it all wrong my friend, real dawg fans will be watching, they are not jumping off the ship like a bunch of rats on a sinking ship. A real dawg fan supports the team through the bad times not just when they win and that goes for the rest of the folks that have been crying and bitching about how this year has gone, the first thing people want to do is get on these blogs and start demanding for coaches to be run off. like they have all the answers, folks this is one year in college football it’s not the end of the world, get a life.

Letsgetitright got it right! Coach Richt has not forgotten how to coach. The most celebrated coach in UGA’s recent football history actually had a losing season once upon a time and the same fans with short memories wanted to run him out of Athens also. Fact is, in those days many said football had passed Coach Dooley and Coach Russell by. Somehow both caught up

You betcha the Dawg fans will be watching. Half the fan base is unemployed and lack dental insurance. It’s a fact, just visit Sanford Stadium!

Gotta get them games started at noon so the players have time to get liquored up for their DUI arrest that night. Lock away your kids and stay off the Streets in Athens! Heck, Ealey doesn’t even care if his license is suspended.

C’mon, fellow dawg fans. It’s not rocket science or some great conspiracy….we’re 1-3 so we can expect a lot of noon games for awhile. Just be thankful we’re in a big conference and get televised (except on DISH). So this year is a wash…we’ll still renew our season tix and hope for better next year. I’ll save a lot of gas and charcoal by staying home and watching on TV.

…..CMR will make some changes and regroup for next year. Time to say thanks to the seniors and start giving underclassmen reps to build for next season. Now way CMR gets fired after one bad (and several mediocre) years….he’ll be back unless he resigns after getting fed up with fickle fans….my guess is the paycheck and perks are enough to keep him around a few more seasons until they chase him off….IF he can’t bring them back around. His first priority should be recruiting for character as well as talent….the current crop of players are pitiful, hollow, unscrupled and undisciplined as a whole….with a few notable exceptions.

Coach Richt Sphincter will not lose his job even though he has lost his team. Time for the boosters to open their wallets and hire Kirby Smart before someone else does.

Sounds like most of the so called fans are more concerned about getting their drunk on, rather than the games. It’s not rocket science. If you win it’s primetime and if you loose then you take what’s left over! DUH

Like Russ said, we suck this year so we get bad game times. It just gives us more time to party afterward and forget the result. We’ve some great seasons and there’s still the chance to beat Tech and Florida (OK, beat Tech anyway). And we’ll be the Underdogs!!!!

The new AD wants 7 home games per season. And 7 is on our schedule for next season. Who wants 7 home games if they all start at lunch? Too late for breakfast too early for beer. Who’s behind this??
Adams wants to be rid of anything that resembles football, yet whenever one of our teams whichever it may be (Gymnastics, Baseball, ect.) has a great season, he wants to stand out front and say. “Look what a great program we have here at UGA.”
Maybe Adam’s yearly salary comes from a different account than football revenues,
I’d hate to know my season ticket dollars went for that cause.

Whatever time it starts I’ll be in the same section and seat i’ve been in for 20 years.
Time for all true Dawg fans to hunker down with this team and coaching staff, we’ll get better.
Rome wasn’t built in a day. Took about 3 weeks.

Tech’s next two home games are a 3:30 start. Could having a winning record so far have anything to do with it? The conspiracy theories against Adams and the noon starts are laughable! It’s the networks these days that decide the times of the games, not the schools.

It will be fine. You can drink Bud at 7AM and still get hammered for a noon start. I have complete confidence UGA fans can do that. Lately it looks like the teams getting hammered before the game too! Woof, Woof!

So we are suppose to show up at 6am in order to have any fellowship time with friends and family. We will have to break tailgate down by 9am in order to go get a spot at the Dawg Walk, then be in our seats by 11am to enjoy the in-stadium pregame traditions.

WOW. Thanks for nothing.
No you are not being forced to go to the games at all.

What does Michael Adams have to do with the television schedule? The time is set by the networks…CBS gets first pick with 3:30 slot, then ESPN picks….SEC network gets what left. By next year, UGA will be back to 1:00 kickoffs with no TV because no one watches a losing team two years in a row. This year everyone is intrigued about why we are so bad…

Atlanta’s Sophomore left guard Chance Warmack was recognized as the SEC’s Offensive Lineman of the Week. Warmack received the top grade on the Alabama offensive line. He allowed no sacks, no pressures and had no missed assignments and no penalties against the Gators. He had key blocks on both Mark Ingram TD runs against Florida.

Also, start with beer and tomato juice (yeah, mixed) in the morning. No kidding, I learned that one from a Navy Chief a long time ago.

Call me crazy but this is more irritating than being 1-4. Noon games are terrible for morale of the fanbase. McGarity complained about empty seats in previous games. Noon games are NOT going to attract people to the seats.

I mean you can tolorate it on the pregame and postgame shows but the live radio is really really awful. Miss you Larry….. and I thought Id never say it, but miss you too Lauren…… Dowdle puts the icing on a totally boring broadcast cake.

I agree with jackyldo. I have been a UGA fan for all of my 42 years and will continue to be, BUT man what a bunch of freakin’ whiners!!!! & BOOM networks do pick in order and they aren’t picking the Dawgs. Good grief what a bunch of knuckleheads!!! Yeah lets fire Mark Richt too, maybe we can steal Dooley away from UT. GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZ

Aladawg

Well, I make all the games, but I don’t care to be called a whiner. I have a real job still and live 325 miles from Athens. I drive in on Friday nights and normally arrive around 1 AM. To get a spot for nooners I have to be up and parked by 7:30 AM. That’s fine for a few games but it sucks for more. You say the record dictates the time. Do you think the LaLa game or the Idaho St. game have anything to do with the record? The away USC game was noon with 2 , at the time undefeated teams. Ark and UGA was a game between a 1-1 team and a ranked team. The same week Akron vs. KY and Furman vs South Carolina were on night TV. Yes, the Tennessee and Vandy games may need the nooner based on current records, but if our AD and Prez want a full stadium next year they will need to do some fast talking with the networks about starting an hour or 2 later and not worrying about some game overlap. This noon time is 11 central for West teams. It is ludicrous and the FACT is the crowd will not be into it. Look at all the night games in Baton Rouge and that atmosphere. This week Kentucky is on the tube at night, Vandy is playing Eastern Michigan at night. Don’t tell me that Adams can’t have influence on these times. They absolutely are hurting us.

Don’t really get this blame Adams for destroying UGA football crowd. I don’t see it. Seems to be an imaginary catchall for what is truly wrong with the program. If he really wanted to destroy UGA football he wouldn’t have fired Donnan. If you want to blame him for “firing” Dooley- OK. It was time for Dooley to go if you ask me. If you want to blame him for the tailgating situation- OK. But our own fans were trashing our beautiful campus. But saying he is “pulling strings” to have our players arrested and that he is the reason our team is 1-4 is ignorant and does not place the blame where it should be…at Mark Richt’s feet.

It’s the networks. Both Tennesee and UGA suck lately. It used to be a 3:30 or prime time match up but not anymore. Once we start winning again the networks will pick us for primetime. We haven’t looked so hot lately in primetime or any other time for that matter. (The “blackout” Bama game a couple of years ago comes to mind)

Reading these comments just makes my head hurt. I can’t believe that people can get so worked up about a football team made up of 18-21 year old boys. It’s a GAME. Nothing more, nothing less. Read a book, take a walk, go out to dinner with your friends, work around the house… If your day can be ruined by a team a teenagers, you need to get a life!!

Oh they also have the post game show live from the lobby. It’s pretty cool.
