Branden Smith not expected to play against Vols; Stripling’s season over

A couple of injury updates:

Georgia expects to be without cornerback-punt returner Branden Smith for Saturday’s game against Tennessee in Sanford Stadium.

Smith suffered a concussion in the first half of the Colorado game, his second in the past three weeks.

“I don’t think he’ll play” this week,” coach Mark Richt said Sunday.

Also, Richt said freshman linebacker T.J. Stripling, who left the Colorado game with a knee injury, will undergo surgery this week to repair a torn patellar tendon.

Richt said Stripling won’t play again this season but should make a full recovery. Stripling has been playing on special teams.

Losing smith is no big deal. UT is terrible and the dawgs can beat them easily. Ga 30 Vols 19—mark it down!

Hope Stripling makes a full recovery (even if he did show his arse on a GT visit and ended up getting sent home).

What a tough season. I keep hoping we will “gel” but injuries with just add insult to injury. The team has to stick together.

Dawgs > Vols We are the ones playing terrible football and on the contrary, UT looks solid. We may be in trouble.

When you are outcoached it does not matter who does or does not play.
Dooleys staff will outcoach this staff as well.
I did see two passes to the TE( one actually down the middle).
Since we did not see that the other 4 games that was good news.

Mcgarity

I have had to stretch my pocket book by having to DONATE extra money for season tickets and pay $160 for parking

I watch asst coaches make more money than I will make in 10 yrs and cant even coach a team to tackle and keep running up the middle that has not worked

Oh and did I mention soon to be 2-8 vs FL

Stop making us fans sacrifice so much for a used car with no tires

I want a refund TOO!!!

I want a refund. I totally agree too. We deserve more for our money. Noon kick offs and bad football are not worth the money we have to pay as season ticket holders.

THIS TEAM FINDS A WAY TO LOSE RATHER THAN A WAY TO WIN. WITH ALL THE TALENT, IT HAS TO BE ATTITUDE.

I WONDER IF THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG IN THE RICHT FAMILY. RICHT SEEMS TO BE DISTRACTED OR HE WOULD NOT LET THIS TEAM SINK FOR SEC CHAMPION TO THIS POOR LEVEL. THERE HAS TO BE AN EXPLANATION AND I HOPE I AM WRONG.

THERE WILL NEED TO BE BIG CHANGES AT THE END OF THE SEASON. EITHER RICHT GETS IT FIXED OR HE BECOMES THE X-COACH OF THE BULLDOGS.

Dawgs 30 Vols 19. What have you been smokin’? The Vols played a good game against LSU and should have won it save a real blunder at the buzzer. UGA has proven that it really cannot stop anyone. It’ll be more of the same. The O will score some points, enough to win, but the defense will allow a torrent of points as usual. Another for the “L” column.

DOGS>VOLS; You must not have seen Tenn. play. That team like Ga. is HUNGREY for a win. Don’t take anything for granted. I would have never thought Miss. State would beat UGA. But they did. Tenn. has been in EVERY game they have played. Tenn. has a good , hard hitting, defense. I’m more impressed with them than UGA at this point.

This team is playing EXACTLY the way they should. They lack talent and are far from even average coached. In fact 50% of the high school coaching staffs in the state of GA could do a better job.

At least Auburn seems to be turning a corner. UGA should beat Idaho St. Should anyway.

Any of these redneck Georgia Homers who start tonight or at all this week saying Tennessee stinks and we will beat them , has no idea where to find the toilet paper in a stall. UT is the youngest team in the SEC but are playing with a LOT of heart. UT has played 3 top 10 team and have played very well with what they have. In the game against LSU this past week 50% of that travel squad was freshman.
You Homers are blind. I hope UT continues their tradition of spanking that red and black A$$!

What in the Hell happened to our OL. These guys have been together for 4 years and they have not improved since the beginning. This kills play action. Kills our running game. And causes out defense to be out of gas late in the 3rd.

Gainesville: I am so sick of fans like you who make themselves off as “true fans” when the reason why we have not won a National Championship since 1980 is because you blind loyalists have no standards and want to keep coaches around longer than we should. You were probably part of the crowd who wanted to keep Goff around longer than we should. The programs that demand excellence are the ones producing excellence (OU, Bama, UF) and I appreciate when my fellow UGA fans demand excellence…they should not be ridiculed.

Gainesville Dawg,

If we don’t demand excellence and settle for mediocrity, then we get what we have now. The level of intensity and discipline have been in sharp decline for at least 3 years. Questioning CMR’s abilities is not based solely on this season, but this season is a clear indication to me that things won’t change without a HC change. It just doesn’t seem practical or reasonable to stay the course as you suggest.

Don’t profile all Dawgs as thugs. The non-Thugs need to ask the coaches to leave the locker room for a players only meeting and then the Thugs need to be given an attitude adjustment.

The coaches are doing a good job of getting the team in the position to win! The players aren’t getting the job done! There are no better coaches out there who could compare to the Georgia staff! A real fan will stick with the team during good or bad times1 This goes for Alabama or florida or any other team! The haters live in a fantasy world and have no real concept about football! Go dawgs!
