A couple of injury updates:
Georgia expects to be without cornerback-punt returner Branden Smith for Saturday’s game against Tennessee in Sanford Stadium.
Smith suffered a concussion in the first half of the Colorado game, his second in the past three weeks.
“I don’t think he’ll play” this week,” coach Mark Richt said Sunday.
Also, Richt said freshman linebacker T.J. Stripling, who left the Colorado game with a knee injury, will undergo surgery this week to repair a torn patellar tendon.
Richt said Stripling won’t play again this season but should make a full recovery. Stripling has been playing on special teams.

When you are outcoached it does not matter who does or does not play.
Dooleys staff will outcoach this staff as well.
I did see two passes to the TE( one actually down the middle).
Since we did not see that the other 4 games that was good news.

THIS TEAM FINDS A WAY TO LOSE RATHER THAN A WAY TO WIN. WITH ALL THE TALENT, IT HAS TO BE ATTITUDE.
I WONDER IF THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG IN THE RICHT FAMILY. RICHT SEEMS TO BE DISTRACTED OR HE WOULD NOT LET THIS TEAM SINK FOR SEC CHAMPION TO THIS POOR LEVEL. THERE HAS TO BE AN EXPLANATION AND I HOPE I AM WRONG.
THERE WILL NEED TO BE BIG CHANGES AT THE END OF THE SEASON. EITHER RICHT GETS IT FIXED OR HE BECOMES THE X-COACH OF THE BULLDOGS.

Dawgs 30 Vols 19. What have you been smokin’? The Vols played a good game against LSU and should have won it save a real blunder at the buzzer. UGA has proven that it really cannot stop anyone. It’ll be more of the same. The O will score some points, enough to win, but the defense will allow a torrent of points as usual. Another for the “L” column.

Gainesville: I am so sick of fans like you who make themselves off as “true fans” when the reason why we have not won a National Championship since 1980 is because you blind loyalists have no standards and want to keep coaches around longer than we should. You were probably part of the crowd who wanted to keep Goff around longer than we should. The programs that demand excellence are the ones producing excellence (OU, Bama, UF) and I appreciate when my fellow UGA fans demand excellence…they should not be ridiculed.

Gainesville Dawg,
If we don’t demand excellence and settle for mediocrity, then we get what we have now. The level of intensity and discipline have been in sharp decline for at least 3 years. Questioning CMR’s abilities is not based solely on this season, but this season is a clear indication to me that things won’t change without a HC change. It just doesn’t seem practical or reasonable to stay the course as you suggest.

It’s kind of sad to see all the Dawg fans getting so excited this year (just like the year before, the year before that, etc.). How long is it going to take for UGA fans to realize that UGA is simply no longer relevant in the SEC? In the national picture, UGA isn’t even a blip on the radar, and hasn’t been since the preseason #1 ranking two years ago.
Sit back and be grateful for the seven or eight wins you’ll get every year. Coaching genius Mark Richt may take you to 8-4 or even 9-3 occasionally, but Florida will still win the SEC, meaning no BCS bowls and no top 10 final ranking. Most years, UGA will be very lucky to finish in the top 25, and only after a big bowl win over a nobody opponent.
It’s a different world now, and Dawg fans need to adjust their expectations downward to reflect reality.
Unfortunately nothing is going to change until UGA changes its mediocre coaching. That’s where the difference is, and that’s why everyone outside Dawgtard Nation just laughs at Dawg fans getting so excited year after year about what a great recruiting class UGA gets. It doesn’t matter how many blue chip high school players go to UGA, they simply don’t get the coaching they would get at Florida or Alabama, to name two schools whose programs are far ahead of UGA. And that’s not going to change as long as Mark Richt is in Athens.
Get your heads out of the sand and face reality. And mediocrity and irrelevance. And red panties.

Offensive linemen not pleased in second half
Vlachos put the blame squarely on the shoulders of the front.
“In the second half, we did absolutely nothing on offense. I’m glad our defense came to play for 60 minutes because it sure didn’t look like our offense did. Hats off to them for the way they played tonight,” Vlachos said.
“You’re always happy when you beat a team like them, (ranked) in the top 10, 31-6, but I’m not happy with how we played the whole game. We’ve got a lot of room for improvement.”

Two things: One, the Dawgs are so undisciplined, everyone knows about the 10 arrests and Richt chooses to look the other way but now some guy (#25 on defense) can get three personal foul flags in the same game and even commit the penal that allowed CU to score the winning TD. I guess Richt never felt it necessary to fix that behavior. Second, AJ is the entire team. Who knew that all this time, Richt was not recruiting any other playmakers. Guys, you don’t face 1-4 under a coach that is in his 10th season without sanctions. Such shame that Richt turned out to be nothing more than a nice guy who would rather be your friend than your coach.

Snoop Dawg says that Gainesville Dawg andJed Clampet are the problems in the Bulldawg Nation. They think that by apologizing for our sorry coaching staff and Gangsta Thugs’ behavior that this is true blue. Au contraire! Hillary Clinton was a codependent, and so are these fossils.
True Dawgs call a spade a spade and demand excellence on the field. The entire coaching staff is a joke. They have totally ruined our football program. They need to exit stage left asap.
These Apologists talk about what a righteous man Mark Richt is. OK, let’s see. He can read in his Bible that a man must earn his pay. Richt has not earned the 3.5million dollars that Water Girl is counting and accounting for him every day. If he were really what he claims to be–a righteous man with honor– he would acknowledge how he has wrecked our Dawg Nation, he would admit that he is a coaching fraud, an imposter, and he would resign.
Any takers that this slickster will resign? No, we will have to pay him off in order for him to leave our program in shambles while he and the Water Girl head for the border with about 20 million dollars of UGA’s money.

Dawg Tard,
what is sad is how often you get on UGA blogs and take the time to write extensively about UGA football. Wonder why you hate UGA so badly. Were you denied admission? Are you a Tech geek who was rejected by a UGA girl? Are you an Alabama redneck who feels inferior to Georgians? Just cannot figure out why someone is so obsessed with writing on UGA blogs. Yes we are down now, and have been for a year, but it simply is not true that we have always been irrelevent. And yes, Alabama has great coaching now but they were very down just a few years ago. By the way, I am a graduate of both Alabama and UGA and I’ll take UGA with a loosing team anyday of the week over attending Alabama with a winning team. I don’t know anyone in the state of Georgia who would choose to go to Alabama if they could get into UGA. I have been a UGA fan for over 50 years and have seen enough football to know that no one stays up forever.

We may or may not find our dream coach immediately, but we are burning daylight sitting here watching the Bulldawg Nation implode. If the next guy doesn’t get results, we’ll fire him too.
The best way to get something done is to begin.

UGA has no chance to win any remaining games unless the defense learns how to stop the other team. All these missed assignments are getting old and if they can’t get the job done, put somebody else into the game. The RBs have got to learn how to hold onto the ball. We need to recruit better RBs, WRs and OL that really want to play. Richt needs to let Grantham do his thing, because the defense should be way better than they are at this point.

Any Dawg fan who thinks CMR must go, is not a loyal Dawg fan. The best way to run away a top shelf class of recruits who will make the program better is to insist the program should be blown apart only to start over.
There is more to it than flipping a switch. Give the new coaches time to build a program and support the team 100%.
We need to contribute in positive ways and be positive about the program if we are interested in building a great team. Good HS players want to be the building blocks of a positive and improving football team. Under the best circumstances It will take a full season to rebuild a strong attacking defense. Willie Martinez is gone, but I would suspect the ghost of his prevent defense still lingers. A new DC can’t reverse that multi-year way of thinking in just 4 games. Type B players cannot instantly become Type A players overnight, if at all.
Blowing it up and starting over is not an option at this time. We have a good coach in CMR and he deserves a chance to get the ship in an upright position, especially since the crew is new and must be given the chance to learn how to work together.
Don’t run away prospective top shelf HS players by being a complainer, even if you were born to do that. If you were born that way, stick a sock in your mouth while the program tries to get back on its feet.
It will take some time to exorcise the Ghost of Willie and reverse that ‘PREVENT’ mentality.

Its just a bad year for UGA. but well be fine in the future, cant win them all. we are just letting our rival teams catch up in the series.(Fla) They been kicking our tails for 17 yrs but were still winning the overall series. they got five years to catch up.

Its time for the fans to demand an end to it……. Let the juniors, soph, freshmen that will be staying next year, play the rest of the games. Get them some experience and reps. Sit the whole starting o-line down, their experience isnt doing us any good.

The same fans who are screaming for Richt’s head were defending him by saying that the Athens cops were targeting football players or that the behavior issues were just typical college boys being boys. The fact is, Richt’s teams are flawed. His players believe they are entitled. They don’t need drivers’ licenses, and they behave as they please, even if that involves pushing women around. They celebrate when they are losing. The harshest discipline Richt hands out is suspension from a meaningless game, for starting players, but he regularly pulls scholarships from those who are less talented. It will take the university a long time to recover from the Adams/Richt era.

Gainesville Dawg….great comments…i’m with you, i get tired of the fans jumping off but get right back on when things go well..None of us are happy and at the end of the season i believe everything will be evaluated, until then lets stay behind this team..I don’t believe any of the negative comments will make us a better team..This team is not one of our strongest to date, but you have to ask yourself that a few fumbles that go our way or AJ being here for all the games, would we still be 1-4…I don’t know and thats only speculative..but bashing these young men and the coaching staff at this point will not get us a win…What we need is to finish out the year as well as we can and get this very good recruiting class signed and hope for a great RB from South Georgia and you could see this team take off next year..You can fire Coach Richt and staff, but you will set the program back even farther and with that who is the savior out there will knock Saban and Meyer off their throne…Do we really want to go back to pre-Richt..do you guys remember where we were and how long it had been since we had won the SEC….Well i do….Again, not saying that things are rosey because they are not, but out of respect for the team and the coaches that we have lets at least stay behind them until the end of this season…then if you want be my guest and jump off the bandwagon…And Ryan…hang in there man, i read alot of your posts on the recruiting blogs..things can turn around pretty quick in college football from one season to the other….go dawgs…

Ryan..alot of names are being thrown out there, which i think is premature, but what makes everyone think these guys would come to UGA..I mean Stoops is a great coach and has a pretty good thing going out at OK…I fear if we do something at the end of the season, that it could backfire on us and we not get who we may want and then we have to settle for someone…The one thing that i do know is that Coach Richt has been successful here…I don’t think he has forgotten how to coach, but he mad need to make some personnel decisions as he did last year..and speaking of that, with our new DC and assistants, there hasn’t been that much improvement, but to be fair we need to give them time to get the right players in for the 3-4…but will the bulldawg nation be patient and if so what kind of timeline…The bottom line here is Recruiting, we need this years class and the potential recruits that we think we will get…however, if Coach Richt is dismissed, you can be assured there will be no #2 rated QB or 5-star RB from South Gerogia along with some impressive linemen…Lets be careful what we ask for as this could set the program back farther…

TampaGator, i think the gators can take LSU and Miles…Miles has to be living under a lucky star as some of the blunders he does as head coach seems to work out…probably has to do with the caliber of players he has instead of his coaching ability, but h has had success…As far as the dawgs, I don’t think Coach Richt is gone after this year in spite of what the season has in store..I think this team is a player or two away and little more QB experience to be good…don’t think it will happen this year, but i can always hope for next…I do think however that Coach Richt has earned the right for at least one more season…I mean if you look at our program before he got here we had not won a SEC for 20 years…and though things are bad right now, i honestly think it will turn around…I think the bottom line is that we have taken a step back in recruiting, and though we have gotten some studs here and there we haven’t been able to match the bama’s or gators…of course we should be able to handle the Colorado’s and Miss State’s but the last time i looked those are Div 1 schools that give out scholarships also….For now i will stick with my dawgs as i always have as well i would expect you to with the gators if things went in the tank…

Ryan…I think they will fight..the team needs something good to happen…I don’t know if the talent is there like we all thought and i will agree that is the responsibility of the coaching staff, but ther have been alot of things that this team has endured….the loss of AJ, injuries on th O-line and inconsistant play, a playmaker in Brandon Smith for at least a couple of games…a new 3-4 scheme and new defensive coaches, a young QB, a running game with RB’s that continue to put it on the ground…and with that i hear people say well thats Coaching, well in all the years playing i never had a coach that taught us how to fumble, we practiced drills that taught ball security, but you know when you get leveled those things are going to happen and for us there has been too much…the coaches sat Ealey down for his continued problems and King had a good game but then pow….the fumble..i don’t know that the coaches can be blamed for that, but again they are resonsible for the team execution…I don’t think this is a very good team by any stretch, but if you really look at it, unbelievable as this may sound fumble not lost or missed kicked or one stop on a third and long and this team could be at least 4-1 or perhaps 5-0..and if they were the same issues would be there it just would be masked by our record…I mean look at LSU, there is no reason they should be undefeated but yet they hd some things go there way, but i still don’t think they are very well coached team…I’m still thinking this team will in one of these games that are left rise up and put it all together and maybe surprise someone…May be wishful thinking, but i have been around this game for a long time and have seen some strange things happen…

It is nothing short of shocking how far and how quickly we have fallen in such a short time period. From preseason 2008 no. 1 to an average 10-3 finish, then an embarrassing 8-5 season last year including several blowout losses, and now a 1-4 start with humiliating losses to teams we should have no business losing to. And in Carolina and Miss St games we lost by 2 scores- not 1.
Conversely I look at the rise of Alabama under Saban and it is nothing short of unreal. In his 2nd season he went undefeated regular season and finished 12-0. Went 14-0 last year and this year is 5-0 after having thoroughly dismantled Florida. That team looks intensely disciplined and when they lined up to play Florida they just flat out laid the wood to the gators. They just smacked florida on the line of scrimmage.
And the whole difference in why Bama pounds Florida while we get pounded by Florida these days is in coaching and discipline on and off the field and especially off. We’ve had 10 players arrested this year, something like 40 since 2007. The bammers haven’t had a player arrested in 14 months now. Anyone see the correlation. Rich runs an out of control program with zero discipline, zero focus, zero effort at being champions. Saban demands excellence and runs a championship program where the players don’t embarrass the school with countless arrests. No sir. All they do is line up and whup people’s azzes on the line of scrimmage.
This jury has concluded that if we are ever going to get to the top that a change is in order. A Chris Peterson or the Utah coach or somebody that can beat Satan.

I’m ok with Grantham and want to see his system with his type of athletes in it.
I also see our “O” starting to come together, but Aaron still can’t see the progressions (check-downs) as they open up. It will come.
I cannot understand what McClendon is doing to our running game. We are rather underwhelming. I’d prefer to see him gone befor he touches Malcome and Christian has to play with no threat of a run game. We need some fire from the tailback position. This is not Georgia football ATM.

What kind of koolaid are you drinking? Todd Grantham and his d is a joke. When Colorado has a back run for 150 on us that tells you how bad his d is. When a freshman who runs for 33 yds against a bad AU defense runs for 180 against us what exactly does that tell you? The poor tackling in all 4 losses, the defensive breakdowns in pass coverage, the lack of defensive pressure. There is a reason why this guy got fired as a d coordinator in the NFL after ranking 30th of 32 teams 2 years in a row. His defenses suck! That’s why he was our 4th or 5th choice as D coordinator. We have the same talent as Bama. Do you honestly think our D looks anything like those bunch crunchers over in Tuscaloosa? Seriously?

Negativity don’t affect recruits…they want to play. They look a UGA as a place where they will redshirt the first year. No high school superstar wants to sit out but that is CMR’s philosophy. Losing hurts recruiting because 4 and 5 star athletes dream of the NFL. 1-4 teams have very few NFL players on the roster…common sense.

I’ve got to laugh at some of the”we’re just having a down year” comments! Uhh…….do your research. This program has been on a downward spiral for the last 5 years, but it didn’t really start showing on the field in any dramatic fashion until the last 3. But the cancer has been there longer, slowly eating the heart out of this once proud program. The problem? A complete and total lack of discipline, both on and off the field. There is a reason why for the last decade UGA is one of the most penalized teams in college football — no discipline and no fear/respect for the coaching staff (who apparently know absolutely NOTHING about discipline and holding players accountable for their actions!).
Guys, this program has HUGE problems, and they start at the top. Unless there is a major shake-up, I seriously forsee this team going 4-8 this year (losing to UT, UF, AU, and GT) and ending the bowl streak. Plus losing most, if not all, of our current batch of recruits. What 4 or 5-star player wants to sign with a 4-8 program??? CMR may be a great guy, but that only goes so far — at some point you need a hard-nosed coach who will hold players accountable, and not just the 3rd stringers. CMR is quick to boot a lower stringer, but overlooks things for starters (too much Bowden influence there!). Hell even GT figured that out! Chan is a fantastic person, but not enough of a harda** to be a Div-1 head coach IMHO. So they went and hired a good old-fashioned take-no-crap coach. UGA needs to do the same thing.

fire Richt…same comments to The Jury apply to you…get another team if you don’t like what you see…go back to the late 90’s and early 2000’s…how long had it been not having a SEC title?…We all want to have programs that are doing as well as Bama…they have the right man at the right time there…but look how long it took to get it right…We can go ahead and fire Coach Richt and then what, who is the savior that you think will come save us…all these names thrown out there doesn’t mean a thing if they don’t want to leave a successful program they are at..How long are you willing “fire Richt” to give a new Coach before calling for his head…one season, two seasons…give me a number…Do you really think that Coach Richt has forgotten how to succeed…Tell me what other programs have been successful against Bama or the Gators in the last few seasons….not many..I don’t know if a coaching change is what we should do or not, its not my decision, nor yours,,but what i do know is that Coach Richt has a lot of support in the right places that will keep him for at least another season as our Coach…i can promise you this blog site does not play into any decision from the people that evaluate our program at the end of the season…so go ahead its your right to bash the coaches and players, if you like, but tell me when that helps us win a game…i’ll be the first to congratulate you…

You know patrick, I have put up with B.S. for all this time and knew for certain that you would be in here saying that you were WRONG all along and that your extropolations of greatness from prior to 2006 to that day’s post by you, were simply not true.

1) “Coach Richt has been BETTER than Florida in CMR Era”
FACT : 94-28 FL 2 N.C. and 91-31 CMR (2-7 vs FL)
2) “Coach Richt has been BETTER than LSU in CMR Era”
FACT : 96-27 LSU 2 N.C. and 91-31 CMR
3) I presume you concede Alabama under Nick Saban better than CMR during the same timeframe that Nick Saban has been at Alabama with his 1 N.C. as well.

I did not predict this.
Yeah, right.
Keep telling yourself that.
Caleb King, I didn’t tell you this ?
AJ Green “not in Miami” I didn’t tell you that very day ?
Aaron Murray 1-4, I didn’t tell you that either I suppose ?
CMR, I didn’t tell you he would lose to not Top 25 teams ?
I sure as Hell, did.
Only you didn’t want to listen.
So, now you say I didn’t say that. B.S.
Favorites ? I didn’t tell you we would play Favorites ?
Uh, huh. Right. I didn’t say that.
Couldn’t block for the run. I didn’t point that out or nothing
# 73 Total Offense
# 79 Scoring Offense
I didn’t tell you this would be the case ? Got it
# 68 Turnover Margin, not a word from me on that either eh
# 87 sacks allowed
Maybe some of this will come back in specific detail to some of you
Aaron Murray would be tackled in college not run effectively
Right, try telling yourself I didn’t disagree with you on that
Balls batted down at Line of Scrimmage not a peep from me on that
Lose to Top 10 Final AP Poll teams can’t seem to recall my words
Lose to Top 25 Final AP Poll teams nothing I ever said either
LOSING RECORD vs SEC East 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 at 10-11 nope
20-15 vs SEC after 2005 season too, never came to my mind
NO DISCIPLINE never crossed my little pea brain
Arrests / Suspensions I never even thought to bring up
Can’t get out of our own division Year 5 not even in SEC CG no
Can’t score Touchdowns, no hope I brought that up either right
Mike Bobo should have been let go long before this season nah

Dawgs > Vols,
I think it is very bold to say that you will beat UT by 11 when UT has actually been playing pretty good football, and UGA just lost to Miss. State AND Colorado (even MORE embarrassing than the loss to MSU, If that was possible). UT is hands down a better team that both of those. Truth of the matter is that it is a sad state of affairs, not only for UGA, but for the SEC in general (East in particular). Bama, Auburn and MAYBE Arkansas are the only teams keeping the SEC off life support right now. Notice they are all in the West. The East is MISERABLE. You can kind of see it now, but when bowl season comes around, you will really see how bad it is. That is if UGA even makes it to a bowl. The way I see it, UGA only has 1 more game that is a definate win. Other than that, who knows. I usually pick UGA to beat Tech every year, I don’t see how UGA can even beat them, even if they choke as usual.

You didn’t actually GO to the school, it’s just the progression of life for rednecks. (OK, maybe that was harsh.) The moral of the story is, the players have started tuning out CMR. Then there are the other “fans.” I think many of the Dawg fans live in back-water, gnat infested parts of this state and all they have is UGA football, because there is nothing else in their miserable lives. To ask "why" is the first step in recovery
October 4th, 2010
9:01 am
Folks ……….ask yourselves “why”??? is this happening. So easy to see the answer.
Mark Richt has over looked signing blue chip linemen ever year. Yes, we get one or two linemen but then, do they pan out? Do they develop??? Name one ALL SEC O linemen that UGA has right now. Name one ALL SEC D Lineman that UGA has right now. Try that with Alabama, Auburn, or UT or LSU or Florida.
Take Clint Boling …………..as a Frosh he was all sec freshman team. He came in not so highly rated from North Fulton as a “project type” of player. He was however, a kid that wanted to play for UGA. Where are the fabulous, big, huge linemen? Oh, they are at Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee. We are getting BEAT on both sides fo the ball.
Remember this ugly reality: UGA has not played any of the good teams yet. None of the teasm that defeated UAG will be in a quality bowl. None. UGA is horrible gang. WHY???
When Coach Dooley brings his hungry UT team in here and whups UGA in his home town, we alumni are going to be crazy. Richt has not done anyhting with his so called talent Nothing. If Dooldey wins without his kids, then you have the very, very clear answer who is a coach and who is not. This will be a huge test for Richt & Co. and also know that UT is NOT a top tier SEC team ….yet.
If we keep on with Richt, we will continue to fail. I am sure that Greg McGariity is aware of this and will make changes in 2.5 months. Enough is enough, already.

I am curious; I have read some comments where someone said that CMR told CTG to tone it down a bit. How do we really know that and why would CMR tell CMG that if he really did?
After sleeping on it last night, I am disappointed but my support still lies with CMR. If CMR has another bad year next year then I am sure some changes will be made, but he does deserve our support now more than ever. It’s like we are snake bit right now. Many of us are jumping on Bobo but offensively we have scored enough to win all of our games except South Carolina. How many points should a team have to score to win? Games are won with a strong D and we are giving up to many points. Look at Alabama’s D; they only gave up 6 points to Florida.
I would like to see our D go back to the 4-3 for the remaining season so we have a better chance to stop the run. GO DAWGS, GATA!!!!!!

We still haven’t quite seen the bottom yet but the good news is there isn’t far to go. This has been one of those years where everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong.
Some of us have been telling some of you this was coming for quite a while but you weren’t willing to listen. For those of you who are afraid a change will set the program back, ask yourself this: what do you consider set back from 1-4?
Whether we change or not, things will get better. We know what we have in CMR, most of us don’t yet fully know what we have in McGarity. I hope he takes the reins and guides us through the dark times we are now in.
If we change head coaches at the end of this year, we will still be better next year than we are now. Saban had one down year where he had to weed out the people who were stinking up their program. His second year Bama was in the SECCG. There are some good young coaches waiting for a shot. Either way we have to get better….

Richt’s tring to appease all the fans with weak excuses and he even tried to ready us for this loss last weak saying “things could get worse”. We don’t expect UGA to go undefeated every year. But we have a right to expect them to win 8 or 9 games based on the top recruits they get every year. If you get top recruits that don’t translate into wins then the problem is coaching. Look in the mirror Richt for your reason for all this losing.

I think the Dawgs may actually stand a chance against UT as long as the home crowd stays with them and does not turn on them. I am really afraid the crowd may turn ugly if we get down in that game. Either turn ugly or turn and leave the stadium…

Depending on what happens, we could lose this recruiting class. Bottom line- the right coach will bring in the recruits. Secondly, we need to start recruiting more of the Pollacks and Green’s that want to earn the “G” on the side of their helmets. Give me more Murrays and Akeem Dents. Dent is playing his heart out every play.

There is a distinction between criticizing the coaching (or lack thereof) of the Bulldogs and criticizing the team. If the recruiting reports/rankings are accurate, then our team is loaded with talent. It is simply coaching that is the problem here! That does not make me a “fair weather fan” by pointing that out. This current Bulldogs team plays without heart. They seem woefully unprepared for each game and continue to make basic mistakes. That, my friends, is all on the coaching. It is the coaches who are responsible for recruiting the talent, developing that talent, and preparing that talent to play ball each week. It is painfully obvious that our talent is not being developed and is certainly not being prepared. Ask yourselves how long you could keep your job if given abundant resources you continually underperformed. Mark Richt is a nice guy and a helluva good man. The truth is his heart is not in this anymore and that may be why his team has no heart.

It is you “let’s pretend that nothing is ever wrong” fans that are the delusional ones…. not the true fans. I am in TN and have been a Dawg fan for life…. and that is what is key… I am a Dawg fan, not a Dawg COACH fan.
Yea Mark Richt is a nice guy, but he is just coasting now…. The same thing happened up here with Coach Fulmer…. people were saying to just give him a chance…. several more years to right the ship.
The ship is sinking and you guys are going down with the ship. We need a new captain with some fire and foresight. Not someone who misreads the stormy situation as just another afternoon sprinkle dinkle. CMR is asleep at the helm and has been – he no longer coaches, he is just there as a figure head.
If we switched coaches with Boise state, what do you think would happen? Exactly…. it is the coaches and it is time for a change. That is what this program needs to get out of the cellar of the SEC.

Not sure why everyone thinks CMR is such an offensive genius. I looked at the NCAA Football site for stats for his tenure and CMR has NEVER had a top-20 scoring offense (don’t care how many yards they get – only how many points). Here’s where the UGA scoring offense (and defense) has ranked since 2001:
Year Dawgs record scoring defense scoring offense rank
2001 8-4 7 45
2002 13-1 4 22
2003 11-3 3 64
2004 10-2 8 45
2005 10-3 8 42
2006 9-4 20 53
2007 11-2 18 34
2008 10-3 59 33
2009 8-5 64 51
UGA has won in CMR’s tensure because of the DEFENSE, not because CMR is such a great offensive mastermind. Having CMR take over playcalling from Bobo will NOT change our fortunes. A change in offense philosophy will be the only cure.

When King broke for a long gain, they showed the replay, and it was Sturdivant that blocked the DE that freed the back for a long gain. That play reminded me how it use to be with UGA. I remember during Stafford’s time how Surdivant use to protect his blindside. If Murray had Sturdivant to cover his blindside in the Arkansas game instead of Ealey, then the 3rd and four might have been different. I know he was trying to make it back from injury, but that shows the quality of player UGA needs on their team. And if a recruit says he won’t honor his commitment to UGA because there may be a coaching change, then I say don’t let the door hit you on your way out! You should be committed to the University, not the coach. You will show your loyalty to the team anyway by leaving early to the NFL! And yes I attended the University of Georgia.

I understand the coach doesn’t want to pile on the players in public. But grow some nads and show some fire for a change. Sure, they played hard and tried hard, but it was obviously not quite hard enough. At least 2 points less not hard enought.

For all ya’ll calling for a coaching change, how long will it take to be good again? New coach, new system, trying to change the thug mentality of those existing players. It would take time.

Yesterday,
I believe right now we are 2-3 years out with the coaching staff we have now. Saban and Meyer did it in year two.Maybe we are better off making a change now?

If change takes time, best to get the ball rolling sooner than later!

Ed, do you remember how much mileage Ga. Tech use get by almost beating Miami or almost beating Notre Dame. You can say how good or how hard they played, but until they win, it is all for nil. They do not rank your team based on how hard they played.

Derek Dooley can’t coach a lick. Richt’s not that great but he’s better than dooley. The Dawgs will beat UT by 13—take it to the bank.

39-18 after 2005 season through today.
# 2 Fulmer Cup after 2005 season through today.
Does THAT sound great Buck Belue ?
.
.
This for the # 11 All-Time Football Program in 1-A wins.
This is instead # 22 team in Wins for 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010
.
.
Only 3 states have more high school recruits go on to NFL than Georgia
Why are we then # 22 in wins for : 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 ?
.
.
Let’s break down 91-31
10 losses to teams not Top 25 Final AP Poll
21 losses 17 wins vs Top 25 Final AP Poll
These are your 31 LOSSES.
.
.
3 wins 8 losses vs Top 10 Final AP Poll teams
All 3 of those wins came in years lost 4 games, 3 games and 4 games.
Never beat Top 10 Final AP Poll team any year didn’t lose 4 or 3 games
How damn great is that Buck Belue ?
Buck Belue, sorry son, but we didn’t beat great teams 2002 or 2007.
I listened to your radio show Buck Belue.
I heard you say it’s not Coach Richt’s fault that SEC was down 2002
2002 only 1 other SEC team Top 25 Final Coaches’ Poll, Auburn # 14.
That’s why played # 24 Final AP Poll 5-Loss FSU Sugar Bowl 2002
Too bad Buck Belue. These are the facts.
2007 lost to 6-6 no bowl game South Carolina and lousy vols 2007.
That’s why played # 19 Final AP Poll (Hawaii) in Sugar Bowl 2007
Coach Richt has NOT had a great year where he beat 1 single great team.
NOT.
Get over it Buck Belue.
.
.
When CMR fires Mike Bobo & Offensive Staff, will have fired every 1 of his coaches
Unless of course you think Rodney Garner deserves to keep his job Buck Belue ?
How good is CMR at hiring a coaching staff if HE fires all his coaches in 10 months

I love how other schools feel it is necessary, to get on here and try to bum out the top athletic and academic Schools from the SEC. Are the jealous or what?? Maybe they should check out the SEC Academic Network? http://www.secdigitalnetwork.com/SECU.aspx
