A couple of injury updates:
Georgia expects to be without cornerback-punt returner Branden Smith for Saturday’s game against Tennessee in Sanford Stadium.
Smith suffered a concussion in the first half of the Colorado game, his second in the past three weeks.
“I don’t think he’ll play” this week,” coach Mark Richt said Sunday.
Also, Richt said freshman linebacker T.J. Stripling, who left the Colorado game with a knee injury, will undergo surgery this week to repair a torn patellar tendon.
Richt said Stripling won’t play again this season but should make a full recovery. Stripling has been playing on special teams.

I am curious; I have read some comments where someone said that CMR told CTG to tone it down a bit. How do we really know that and why would CMR tell CMG that if he really did?
After sleeping on it last night, I am disappointed but my support still lies with CMR. If CMR has another bad year next year then I am sure some changes will be made, but he does deserve our support now more than ever. It’s like we are snake bit right now. Many of us are jumping on Bobo but offensively we have scored enough to win all of our games except South Carolina. How many points should a team have to score to win? Games are won with a strong D and we are giving up to many points. Look at Alabama’s D; they only gave up 6 points to Florida.
I would like to see our D go back to the 4-3 for the remaining season so we have a better chance to stop the run. GO DAWGS, GATA!!!!!!

We still haven’t quite seen the bottom yet but the good news is there isn’t far to go. This has been one of those years where everything that could go wrong, has gone wrong.
Some of us have been telling some of you this was coming for quite a while but you weren’t willing to listen. For those of you who are afraid a change will set the program back, ask yourself this: what do you consider set back from 1-4?
Whether we change or not, things will get better. We know what we have in CMR, most of us don’t yet fully know what we have in McGarity. I hope he takes the reins and guides us through the dark times we are now in.
If we change head coaches at the end of this year, we will still be better next year than we are now. Saban had one down year where he had to weed out the people who were stinking up their program. His second year Bama was in the SECCG. There are some good young coaches waiting for a shot. Either way we have to get better….

All of you folks wanting to blame the coordinators, remember who got all the credit and all the big raises when the Dogs won the SEC a few years back? It’s got to be a 2 way street if we want to win, You can’t praise Richt when the Win but not blame him when they are terrible…that’s why he get the megabucks.

UGA football= Titanic. That program is an embarrassment to all Georgians who are not blind homers in this state. #1 party school, #1 Fulmer Cup, #1 in trashing public property on your campus, and now #110 in all college football teams. At least you have basketball in two months to help you forget this historic season. Get ready for GT pain train that is coming. From the looks of your players they have already quit so you should not be much for a respectable program like the jackets. It may take 2 free dogs, 2 cokes, etc. just to get 40,000 fans at UGA games by the time the Idaho State nothings come calling.

All of these same idiots predicted we would win the last four weeks. Have you no shame? Or should I say, have you no common sense? Look for more of the same, i.e. turnovers, late hits, poor tackling, defensive players running around in our backfield, illegal procedure penalties, runs in run situation and passes in pass situations. The only difference will be Rocky Top playing continuously.

Schedule Changes
October 4th, 2010
9:51 am
I heard McGarity has applied to the SEC for a “mercy rule” change in the schedule for 2011, to allow UGA to “recover.” He’s asking that all SEC games except for Vanderbilt be replaced by the following teams:
Georgia Southern
Georgia State
Kennesaw State
Shorter
Morris Brown
Clark Atlanta
West Georgia
Georgia Perimeter
McGarity’s thinking ahead—-outside the box—that’s why he makes the big money!!!

At least we have some big time wins coming up in a few years against Charleston Southern. Who knows it could be the SEC game of the week. A top 10 UGA team playing between the hedges against their former coach Richt who is in his 4th season at Charleston.

I agree with Ricth ties Goff…, The coach just doesn’t know how to recruit quality players or disciple what he has. Get rid of the thugs and two things happen: 1. the arrest rate drops 2. and wins increase. However, UGA does field the best team on the entire cell block.

Dog fans aka (Homers), Please tell all of us AJC readers how Georgia will win out and how they will kick Tennessee’s tail this weekend because we have seen the power of the bulldog and No Vol can handle that ! Be proud if you pull of a win over the youngest team in the SEC ! In addition the talk of hiring Dooley ? Did you not see how UT learned a lesson from Kiffin? His buyout is more than Ga will pay ! If they were to pay it solely to bring back the glorious name of Dooley UT can get anyone they want ! Reality check Ga fans. All of us Non rose colored wearing glasses fans have been saying it for years” You are consistantly overrated” Next year Tennessee will only be better ! Last weekend against LSU 50% of that team were Freshmen ! You lose Lord AJ to the NFL along with many others who will jump ship ! recruiting will also pay a heavy price next year!

Dawg Fans- It is quite obvious that our recruiting for the past 4-5 years and our coach’s ability to make men out of boys is why we are in this boat. I have been a Dawg fan for 45 years and will be there cheering them on Saturday. There is not a single person on this site that HATES losing more than me. Greg McGarity has given me his assurance that he will evaluate this program and do what is in the best interest of UGA. With that assurance, I am along for the ride with him. As Mobile Dawg stated earlier, rats jump off of a sinking ship. If you are not a true fan that supports the Red & Black through thick and thin, then please do us all a favor and get off now.

We need a new coach. If Bobo & running backs coach don’t get fired then nobody even cares about winning at UGA. Its a fact that Stripling’s and UGA’s season is over. How appropriate…
So Richt thinks the majority of us fans “love the team win or lose ?”.
Well newsflash, coaches that continually lose aren’t LOVED. They are hated.

Unfortunately, none of us can realistically say we did not see this coming. The SEC record since last year should have been a big red flag. We have been talking about the problems for the last few seasons and nothing has gotten better. Surely, Richt and his coaching staff are e-mailing the resumes out now.

Yeah Cuff & Rambo are awful period. That running into kicker penalty was a 4 point swing to Colorado. How does a coach not see what we see ? Cuff should be benched for next game. I’d make the next running back that fumbles run the Sanford stadium stairs backwards 3 times.

Richt’s tring to appease all the fans with weak excuses and he even tried to ready us for this loss last weak saying “things could get worse”. We don’t expect UGA to go undefeated every year. But we have a right to expect them to win 8 or 9 games based on the top recruits they get every year. If you get top recruits that don’t translate into wins then the problem is coaching. Look in the mirror Richt for your reason for all this losing.

Depending on what happens, we could lose this recruiting class. Bottom line- the right coach will bring in the recruits. Secondly, we need to start recruiting more of the Pollacks and Green’s that want to earn the “G” on the side of their helmets. Give me more Murrays and Akeem Dents. Dent is playing his heart out every play.

There is a distinction between criticizing the coaching (or lack thereof) of the Bulldogs and criticizing the team. If the recruiting reports/rankings are accurate, then our team is loaded with talent. It is simply coaching that is the problem here! That does not make me a “fair weather fan” by pointing that out. This current Bulldogs team plays without heart. They seem woefully unprepared for each game and continue to make basic mistakes. That, my friends, is all on the coaching. It is the coaches who are responsible for recruiting the talent, developing that talent, and preparing that talent to play ball each week. It is painfully obvious that our talent is not being developed and is certainly not being prepared. Ask yourselves how long you could keep your job if given abundant resources you continually underperformed. Mark Richt is a nice guy and a helluva good man. The truth is his heart is not in this anymore and that may be why his team has no heart.
