BOULDER, Colo. – What Georgia players had to say after their latest loss, 29-27 to Colorado here Saturday night:
Wide receiver A.J. Green on being 1-4: “It’s tough. I’ve never been 1-4 in my life. We’re going to stay together, and we’re going to keep fighting.”
Green on why he left the game in the third quarter: “I was just cramping. A lot of cramping.”
Quarterback Aaron Murray on Caleb King’s fumble in final two minutes: “I don’t know where the guy [defender] came from. I handed the ball off, and it just came out. That’s pretty much how it happened. You can’t blame Caleb King for that. It just happens sometimes. You have to make sure you pick that guy up and he comes out and has a great week at practice.”
Murry on Green’s leaping, one-handed touchdown catch in the second quarter: “That was unbelievable. No other receiver in the nation can make that catch. That was special right there. To go up and catch it with one arm, and bring it down with only one arm, it’s pretty unbelievable.”
Defensive end Demarcus Dobbs on being 1-4: “There’s going to be frustration. We’re Georgia. We never expect ourselves to get four losses. Or lose to the teams we have lost to. We just have to push ahead, and we cannot give up on each other. All we have is each other. We have to watch film, keep grinding and finish the season out, hopefully on a high note.”
Dobbs on the mentality in the locker room: “We just lost a game. Everyone is pretty much down; we thought we were going to come in and ruin their party and get a victory. We thought we were a better team. We didn’t represent Georgia well. We didn’t represent the SEC well. Only people we have to blame are ourselves. We need to watch film, see what we need to correct and make those adjustments, and stick together. We have to be accountable for each other and not give up on the season.”
Dobbs on the fumble on the final drive: “I thought it was a shoo-in; that’s how comfortable I was [about winning the game]. I put my helmet down. I was ready to run on the field and celebrate. But it didn’t happen that way. We made a fatal mistake, and that type of stuff needs to be corrected. We cannot turn the ball over at the end of the game. It felt like death to me. We have to keep grinding and support each other.”
– From transcript provided by Colorado of post-game player interviews.

As the great Marvin Gaye used to sing “What’s Going On?’”. WE LOST to a team that is 90th in the country (Div 1A) in Passing Yards, 68th in Rushing, 96th in Points For, and 59th in Points Against, and LOST TO CALIFORNIA 52-7. WOW. CU has not won back-to-back games in over 2 years. But yet, I keep hearing UGA fans say “but we lost ONLY b/c of a fumble” or “we lost the first 3 games b/c we didn’t have AJ” or “we lost b/c Ealey can’t hang on to the ball”. To which I say – NO, it RUNS MUCH DEEPER than ONE FREAK’N play. You can also insert – “if the OL had blocked better”, “If the Defense would cover people or relearn how to tackle”, “if CMR can FIND A WAY to instill DISCIPLINE to his players – on and off the field”. YOU SEE – we didn’t LOSS b/c of one play, or one fumble, or one player. There are MANY opportunities throughout a ballgame that can be “game changers” – UGA USED TO BE ABLE TO DO THAT – but no longer. It all goes back to coaching. Year end and year out, UGA recruiting classes are in the TOP TEN – Something that GT would salivate at (GT is usually around 30-35 in recruiting classes) – but yet, GT seems to make better at the recruits they have than UGA does. IT ALL GOES BACK TO COACHING. You can have the TOP RECRUITING CLASS EVERY YEAR – BUT IF YOU CAN”T COACH THEM, IT DOESN’T MATTER.
It seems to me his BEST CLASSES were from Jim Donnen’s recruits.
That is why I say – for the first time, that CMR needs to go. Or, CMR needs to grow a pair and let BooBoo go – that will be a sign that CMR means business. But we all know CMR will not do that. So – then CMR MUST GO.

Bama Fan, thanks for feeling sorry for us. We really appreciate it. Bama is apparently the best team in the country again. Congrats. Someday we shall return, for now you need to schedule us for homecoming.

@What’s going on…hard to argue with all that.
I think Richt will resign at the end of the season. He cares deeply about his coaches, and he won’t fire Bobo, Searles, etc. He can’t do that again after doing that to Willie Martinez. Let’s hope he does it under his terms (he HAS earned that), and it doesn’t look like the fans, alums, etc. ran him out.

At this point there is nothing to work on for this Georgia team. They are what they are. Awful. This squad isn’t getting better. They can talk about…playing for the seniors.. Ok. The Seniors are the ones that put themselves in this position. They just aren’t very good.
There are more important things in life than football. Maybe they should focus on them.

Tazzdawg..I’ll call you a fair weather fan in heartbeat…You have all the answers as so many on here do…you know no one on here is forcing you to support the dawgs, so find yourself another team and comeback as you will when the dawgs start winning again…No one is happy about what is going on with the dawgs…how do you think they feel or the coaches…do you not think they are doing their best,..Any changes will be made at the end of the year and maybe thats what we need, but until then we need to support the team..there are many recruits out there that are looking at our program and if we get the ones that are committed plus some who are lookning at us things could turn around..We don’t have the horses right now that Bama, Gators or others have..if you know anything about footbal and i wonder if you do, you would see that our talent level is down,…Maybe the coaching is to blame for this, but the players have to make plays..other than AJ and Murray who out there really made any bigtime plays when we needed it…We need some top notch players and whether you want to admit it or not that is our problem..Everyone wants another Head Coach, so who do we go after that will actually come here…I hear Smart’s name thrown around…will he guarntee us success against Bama and the Gators…Lets see..Peterson…will he guarantee us success against Bama and the gators…Do you really think that Coach Richt has forgotten how to Coach…I don’t think he has…should there be more changes…perhaps….i just hate to see our program fall farther behind and have to start over with a new staff…maybe thats the answer and if it is then i will still be a true dawg fan, not a fair weather fan that wants to jump on and off the bandwagon…and yes i have given my hard earn dollars to this football program for years and years and i am extremely unhappy, but to read some of the comments on here and people who claim to be dawg fans is sad…There will be plenty of folks from the other schools that are going to be happy to kick us while we are down, please dawg fans lets not help them…

Actually Blue I was an Obama supporter….Repeat…was….And I also am appreciative of what CMR has done for UGA. He deserves one more year, in my opinion, to make staff changes and get things straightened out. If he can’t get it done then I am all for letting him go just as I am now all for letting Obama find something else to do with his time. If a person can’t get the job done then they need to go. Without drastic changes both will be looking for jobs by the end of next year.

Don’t give up dawg fans. Things look really bleak but from a neutral perspective what I see is that you got a young qb and just seem snake bitten in all of these games with the King fumble just being another bad bounce of the ball that went against you.
For what its worth I think the dawgs should just say to hell with it, not worry about Richt hot seat talk and all that, and just play loose the rest of the season as opposed to playing tight. Still a lot of football to play and everyone left on the dawgs schedule including Florida is a winnable game.

If you make drastic changes you’re only going to set the program back further than it already is.
Coaches aren’t able to go make plays on the field. I don’t believe they aren’t teaching fundamentals or attempting to get these guys to play better… this group of players… is either too young…. or the just aren’t good enough. 2 lost years in 10 isn’t the end of the world. Maybe they can set the world on fire in recruiting.

NO LOSS OF OURS IS WORSE THAN KANSAS. WE STILL BEAT YOU AND WE STILL OWN YOU. WE ARE IN DEEP SH!T RIGHT NOW AND THE LOWEST WE HAVE BEEN IN DECADES, BUT AT LEAST WE ARENT TECH. OH, AND TRY TO MAKE ANOTHER SEC POINT AND THEN THINK ABOUT YOUR LOWSY CONFERENCE BY COMPARISON.
ALSO, IM TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT 5 STAR RECRUITS. WE GET MAYBE 1 OR 2 A YEAR. JUST BECAUSE WE DONT FILL OUR ROSTER WITH 2 STAR RECRUITS, DOESN’T MEAN WE’RE THE HIGH SCHOOL ALL AMERICAN TEAM
