BOULDER, Colo. – What Georgia players had to say after their latest loss, 29-27 to Colorado here Saturday night:
Wide receiver A.J. Green on being 1-4: “It’s tough. I’ve never been 1-4 in my life. We’re going to stay together, and we’re going to keep fighting.”
Green on why he left the game in the third quarter: “I was just cramping. A lot of cramping.”
Quarterback Aaron Murray on Caleb King’s fumble in final two minutes: “I don’t know where the guy [defender] came from. I handed the ball off, and it just came out. That’s pretty much how it happened. You can’t blame Caleb King for that. It just happens sometimes. You have to make sure you pick that guy up and he comes out and has a great week at practice.”
Murry on Green’s leaping, one-handed touchdown catch in the second quarter: “That was unbelievable. No other receiver in the nation can make that catch. That was special right there. To go up and catch it with one arm, and bring it down with only one arm, it’s pretty unbelievable.”
Defensive end Demarcus Dobbs on being 1-4: “There’s going to be frustration. We’re Georgia. We never expect ourselves to get four losses. Or lose to the teams we have lost to. We just have to push ahead, and we cannot give up on each other. All we have is each other. We have to watch film, keep grinding and finish the season out, hopefully on a high note.”
Dobbs on the mentality in the locker room: “We just lost a game. Everyone is pretty much down; we thought we were going to come in and ruin their party and get a victory. We thought we were a better team. We didn’t represent Georgia well. We didn’t represent the SEC well. Only people we have to blame are ourselves. We need to watch film, see what we need to correct and make those adjustments, and stick together. We have to be accountable for each other and not give up on the season.”
Dobbs on the fumble on the final drive: “I thought it was a shoo-in; that’s how comfortable I was [about winning the game]. I put my helmet down. I was ready to run on the field and celebrate. But it didn’t happen that way. We made a fatal mistake, and that type of stuff needs to be corrected. We cannot turn the ball over at the end of the game. It felt like death to me. We have to keep grinding and support each other.”
– From transcript provided by Colorado of post-game player interviews.

Its funny to think if you beat Kentucky this year… the series is about even that past couple of years… that absolutely speaks volumes of the tremendous football program you pound puppies have in Athens… but the silver lining is you can always say its an SEC schedule… to try and easy the pain of how terrible you really are…

Christians do not lie. Mark Wretch professes to be a Christian. MW denied final play was flea flicker. I have been student of football for over half a century. FINAL PLAY WAS A FLEA FLICKER! MW told outright lie to protect his mentally challenged friend Mike Dodo. Christians not supposed to lie. MW Christian? Methinks not. Sorry fellow. Charade is over. Understand now why you recruit so many athletes with low moral character. Wink wink. STENDEK

Like I said 2 years ago. under richt this team is headed for oblivion. It was better under Donnan. In fact the best season richt has had was with Donnan players who would have won a championship but Richt F that up too.

Really, why would UGA think it deserves anything better than CMR? He’s about as good as they’ll ever get. You just need to come to the realizaiton that you are not a 10 win team. You are 3-4th in the SEC on a good year. Your last now I think, below Vandy?

Hey Rob
Who are we going to beat in order to have 3 win this year. Maybe 1 more because we play a 1aa team in nov.. Have we ever had a season where we didn’t beat a D1 school?
This is worst then any Ray Goof Team. It’s hard to believe how far we have fallen.I’m afraid we are now the worst team in the SEC. We will now become everyone’s homecoming game.
But lets be serious–our offensive line & defensive line are terrible & if we let every team we play push us around like rag dolls we will lose the rest of our games.I’m tried of everyone saying its the coaches fault for not coaching up our so called 4&5 star players. From what I have seen we have 1 five star player & everyone knows who that is(AJ) & a bunch of 1&2 star players & you can only do so much with that type of talent.Since our talent level is going down maybe CMR needs to give his players the WONDERLIC TEST & that would give him an idea of which players have the football smarts to play college football & maybe just maybe we might be able to coach those players up.
RECRUIT BETTER & WE WILL WIN & THAT’S ALL I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT

Matt, you’re right. I can’t remember the last time we were at this level. 1-4 and losing to the teams we’ve lost to this year. Hate to break it to you, but Richt has lost the team and the fans. I’m a lifelong fan and ‘01 graduate and season ticket holder in the Champion’s Club box. REAL fans want to see this turned around, and realize there is no excitement around this program anymore and Richt seems to have lost his desire for the game. He has alway been non-emotional, but he doesn’t have any fire in his eyes anymore. Just desperation to try to keep his job.

Richt is done, mentally. You can see it in his eyes. And it started in ‘06 in my opinion. Go to youtube and check out highlights from ‘02 -’04. When you see shots of Richt on the sideline, the difference between then and now is obvious. The vitality is gone.

Next week I expect: turnovers, late hit penalties, Rocky Top played 400 times, motion penaties, last minute time outs, runs from a tight formation, third and long play fakes, missed tackles in the back field, players completely out of position, CMR giving stern talking to players that could care less, at least one DUI arrest, alot of punts, no turnovers for the Dawgs, more penalties, a bad punt or missed field goal, and celebration of nothing that matters. GO DAWGS. 1 and 5 sounds about right.

Please don’t ever mention Kirby Smart as a replacement for Coach Richt again. He proved he is no longer a Bulldog when he turned down the DC job. There are hundreds of better choices out there than Sabans puppet. Coach Richt should get one more year to turn it around but only if Bobo and his cronies are replaced. Coach Richt and Georgia were successful when he ran the offense and good coaches such as Van gorder were working with him. Jim Harbaugh is the Coach we want if CMR doesn’t work out. But I seriously doubt he would even consider UGA.

I still remember in 2007 all the regular posts from dawg fans telling us how irrelevant we were, how Saban was so overrated, how the bear aint coming back, how Bama fans just live in the past, etc. I now look down upon you from my lofty perch atop the sec and the nation after pummeling florida yet again and for the 5th time in the last 7 trys. And I can’t even be mad at dawg fans for all the insults and putdowns when we were going through some down times. All I can really do is feel sorry for you and pity you. I pity how truly bad your team is and how thuggish it is with the fulmer cup already wrapped up and with 10 players arrested since spring and 43 since 2007. Its all about karma dawg fans.

Romedawg,,,,,you know why Kirby did not come home….he worked under Richt one year and returned to Saban when he saw how weak the team was, how most of the great athletes are placed on offense instead of defense and he knew the facilities needed major upgrading including an indoor practice facility.
UGA is going to have a hard time finding a quality coach who will not demand that many of the same things Kirby requested last off season.
