UGA adds Charleston Southern, Georgia Southern to future football schedules

Georgia has added Charleston Southern to its home football schedule for 2014 and Georgia Southern for 2016, UGA associate athletic director Arthur Johnson said this morning.

The Nov. 22, 2014, game will be Georgia’s first ever against Charleston Southern, while the Nov. 19, 2016, game will continue the Bulldogs’ trend of playing Georgia Southern once every four years.

Georgia will pay Charleston Southern $450,000 and Georgia Southern $525,000 for making the trips to Athens.

Both schools are Football Championship Subdivision (formerly Division I-AA) members.  FCS teams command payouts considerably smaller than Football Bowl  Subdivision (formerly Division I-A) teams. The going rate for getting a FBS team to play in your stadium without demanding a return trip is close to $1 million.

Georgia typically plays one FCS opponent per season.

Charleston Southern played at Florida last season and lost to the Gators 62-3.  Georgia is 4-0 against Georgia Southern; the teams played in 1992, 2000, 2004 and 2008 and also are scheduled to play in 2012.

Supportive Bulldawg fans, it seems we have lost a perfectly good blog site to the little guys with a lot of hate…Well, hate is a mental and spiritual cancer eating away the soul. For those bent on hateful misery, just step aside and let them rush head long to hell.

I saw McGarity roaming around LaGrange last week. Figured he was dropping by Troup High School to check on Quan Bray for Coach Richt. Then I saw him taking what looked to be ink pens, and legal papers into the office of LaGrange College’s athletic director. Could a match up between the ‘Dawgs and the mighty Panthers be in he offing?

We drop Oregon for these two? Say what you want about Damon but we had some good out-of-conference opponents for a change.

Pathetic excuse for a college team!

Field goal kicker missed gimmee earlier. Bulldogs lost by how many? Hmmm. Mark Wretch and Mike Dodo. Poor man’s Abbott and Costello. Fans cry. They laugh all way to bank. Truly sad and unjust. STENDEK

Just do not schedule teams like Valdosta or Lowndes. Could prove insurmountable odds. Hear School Of Blind has a schedule opening. Got 50-50 shot in that one. Check it out. STENDEK

Good thing that Louisiana Laf-a-lot was on your schedule this year, otherwise you may not win a game.

Georgia will never be in the big time national stage with two to three cream puffs on it schedule each year. Drop Oregon home and home and use the excuse it is to far to travel, one of those two year. Talk about a lame excuse. Georgia if you want to be taken seriously as a nation power then you need to play some teams in Division 1A instead of these cream puffs. Your win /loss record may look better, however, it does not mean much when you play teams like Charleston and Georgia Southern. The way Georgia has been playing I am not sure if these two cream puffs aren’t to much.. The second most profitable program in the NCAA. How much longer do you think that will last playing Georgia Southern and Charleston. Not to mention in recruiting players who do you think is going to get the top recruits. A Georgia who seems to be going no where or Alabama whose program has in three short years won a national championship and likely could repeat this year. Georgia needs to wake up and get serious about competing in the top level of football. You will never make it with scheduling two to three cream puffs a year. .

It looks like Georgia Southern found a cream puff in UGA,

1-4 isn’t ANYTHING TO BRAG ABOUT WHEN YOU HAVE NOT BASICALLY PLAYED ANYBODY YET AND WIN 1 OUT OF 5.

How many teeth does it take to go 1-4?
Your mongrels are pretty lousy, maybe you should crawl back under the porch and stop growling until you have done something to growl about. Tech will slaughter you much worse that Darth Visor already did.

I think we should drop out of the SEC before we are asked to leave and go Independent. This way we can schedule who we will look good playing against, say Clarke Middle School. This may be the type quality opponent that our coaches can coach up against. Well …, maybe not.

Drop Oregon and pick up these two high school games? Buford might be willing to play? However, they’re pretty strong, might not want to go there.

What a joke this program has turned out to be!

The losses I have to bear. Being lied to by head coach is something I will not tolerate! Mark Wretch knows the fumble was on a botched flea flicker! If not then that is ground for immediate dismissal. Lying to protect a worthless friend (Mike Dodo) is still lying. How much does the Bulldog Nation shell out to this unsaintly and Christan wanna be liar? Hmmm. Not good at all. STENDEK
