I wonder how many of you people posting all of this crap have actually played in regular game of football? GA will right the ship and get things corrected. Do you remember the GOFF era, we let Erk Russell leave when we had a great coach there behind Dooley. Do you remember Donnan and how they looked against all of our rivals. We can not win every game, we are going to have a lean year at times. UF, Bama, LSU, and Auburn better watch out for us sooner than later!

Tim, I beg to differ on portions of your analysis. One of your first comments was, “They failed to do anything offensively.” The UGA game I watched on Saturday produced around 250 yards of offense in the first half. I would have said “the offense failed to produce many points” (fumble at the 1; holding penalty negates TD). I also seem to remember that UGA had ONE offensive possession in the 3rd quarter. Thus, my analysis is that the defense could not get a stop and put us in a position to score. We started on the 13 yard line on the first possession of the game and at least two more times from the 10. Before the season everyone was all excited about getting rid of Willie and the new 3-4 scheme. Well, I see the same players missing the same tackles and leaving receivers so wide open I’m afraid they will catch a cold out there. So, is it coaching; scheme; or personnel? Everyone wants to fire this coach or that coach. Maybe it is like I said in another blog; we are just not that good. I believe murphy may be on to something in his comments. Our line (both sides), has drastically underachieved; our defense can stop no one; and our running backs can’t find a hole if their name was shovel (excepting the almost spectacular run by Thomas on the sprint-draw until the turf monkey got him). Blame the play calling; I blame the execution. All I know is if we do not learn how to block and tackle real fast we may not win another one. Top 10 recruiting class? We can probably say goodbye to most of those recruits as well.

I would like for CMR to move up as the AD and to hire NFL savy coaches (Gruden, etc). Any recruit would like to play for NFL experience coaches to get them coached up to the next level where their goal is. Any NFL coach wouldn’t underachieve like we have for years and wouldn’t allow 4 and 5 star recruits in top 10 every year to play to a lower level like we have for years.

But what is fair is that we need to fire Bobo!!!!! I’m so tired of toss sweep right and toss sweep left. Look guys, we don’t have the power and bruising RB to have a running game. Plus we have a horrible OL and getting worse. Is it just me but our players look small compared to the other sec schools.

Why Georgia Why

September 27th, 2010
9:24 pm

What really saddens me is the thought that if UGA does pull out a decent win record that people will walk away from the issues that are obvious on this team….last year winning against GT and in a bowl saved the program the need to reevaluate…and NO I don’t believe simply letting Martinez go in any way indicated the program was addressing the root causes of the issue. A little win streak and/or wins against UF or GT will allow the fan base the sense of pride that removes the urgency of addressing the issues. Far be it for me to determine exactly what the issues are, but there should be some serious searching going on to determine the issues and develop a plan. Seriously, I know Richt isn’t the magic man for answers, but I really feel sick listening to “doing the same thing we did when we were winning” (wow, wonder why in the fast developing world of college football the same thing from 5 years ago isn’t working!) and “not sure what we’re going to do til I watch and reflect”. Good gracious, I’m a woman and I can give you a quick breakdown of a few things that deserve focus. On another note, did anyone notice the way we entered the field Saturday? I watched the game on replay and felt like I completely missed the beginning of the end. I hate when anyone says the boys don’t “want it”, but watching that entrance I believe they lack the confidence to “take it” (could this possibly be the result of coaching?). I hate having negatives to spew on the Dawgs, but there are serious issues and I don’t have the answers, but I am sure the million dollar men in Athens should be held accountable to figure them out!

Andy Brown , Although you may be right, I don’t think you should assume that just because someone posts on a blog they have never played football. Truth is, there are a LOT of ex-ball players that aren’t very good at coaching –or knowing the game of football.
I hope you’re right about GA getting it together, and while I agree that you can’t win them all, I do think that paying fans have a right to feel upset & let down. You’ll probably tell me that the players feel worse, butt the truth is most of them don’t seem to feel worse (there are a few exceptions). For the most part these ‘fans’ that complained about Martinez 3+ yrs ago were right. These ‘fans’ that complained about the arrest rate in Athens getting out of control one day, were right. These ‘fans’ that have said Bobo isn’t a very good offensive cord. were right. These ‘fans’ that were worried about Mark Richt’s teams slipping into mediocrity were right. Now you’re gonna tell me these same people are wrong this time?
I hope they are, but I have my doubts. One other thing: When a coach arrives much like Richt did in 2001, and players ‘buy into’ their system, it gives the players something to believe in. When the players stop believing, all you have left is a bunch of players with confidence. At that point it doesn’t matter what Coach tells them in the locker room at half-time. If they stop believing, all hope is gone.

The season’s toast anyway, so I’m for kicking A.J.’ s greedy butt off the team.

He really let his teammates and the Bulldog Nation down and I don’t have an ounce of pity for him.

He got what he deserved.

As for the Dawgs with or without A.J. — it’s going to be a long hard pull. This team has major problems, and we all know it starts at the top.

I’m a huge Bulldog fan, but I don’t know if I can stomach another game after the Miss State fiasco.

So if Green with his diamond earring and the thUGA Dwags win in Colorado, and nobody else gets arrested this week all is well? Alumni and fans forget the Fulmer Cup and thUGA being a laughing stock – just try to run the table. That says as much about the alumni and fans as it does about the thUGA administration and coaching staff – there is a HUGE problem stinking up Athens and large swaths of the hinter lands.

Welcome back AJ. The point is we need to do a better job recruiting and coaching. We need to overhaul the offensive staff and he needs to let Grantham be the person he hired. We are not stocked for the 3-4 and we need to recruit players for it. On the offensive side, we need to recruit the physical players for the SEC and not the ones that still need to be in high school. From what I see coming in on the OL, they look timid and need to get into shape, but a new OC and a new OL coach along with a new conditioning coach will solve this problem. Richt ran BVG away with his religious ways for the football field and will do the same with CTG. Rodney Garner is not doing a great job with the DL or with recruiting and it is time for him to go also. It is amazing what the defensive coaches did before they got to UGA and now that don’t seem to be able to coach. Think about it people, Richt needs to let the people do the job on defense that he hired them to do. He was a great OC at Fla. St., he needs to find the right people to put in place on the offensive side and get back to a more physical game. Playing pitty pat in the SEC will have you exactly where we are now,0-3 in the SEC.

Continuing to apologize by support coaches who cannot coach or motivate or enforce standards are enablers to our established losing ways.

Every single player who has been arrested should be kicked off the team, period.

Richt needs to be fired, immediately.

The AD needs to conduct a national seach for an established head coach, not some Jawja mafia insider. The university needs to bring out the checkbook to write the biggest check in the NCAA to hire the very best in the business, not an assistant or coordinator who might or might not be able to perform as the head coach.

1. For you holier-than-thou types calling him Judas, walk a mile in his shoes. His mom lives just a few miles from me. Let’s just say she isn’t lolling in a McMansion.

2. I’ve made a few mistakes in my life. One almost cost me my life. AJ’s mistake cost him 4 football games. Big difference. If Richt was the coach he thinks he is, he would have got the team to rally around the fact that their best player was out. Result: 1-3. AJ doesn’t play on either line. He didn’t blow any coverages. Doesn’t call plays either.

3. “Richt needs to be fired immediately”. Asinine. Hasn’t had ONE losing season yet. Fulmer wasn’t pushed out until his SECOND failed season, and that wouldn’t have happened if he had not thought himself as being bigger than the program. This season should be what it is, an attention-getter. Give him a year to right the ship.

4. Having posted all the above, if Derek Dooley brings a team with 71 scholarship athletes into Athens and gets the “W”…all bets are off!

Yes, I believe that none of the UGA coaches are sleeping well at night since last SAT..Nor, should they, with their performance. I also hope that the players will find some resolve in themselves to represent the University and our state in a much better fashion by playing with some heart and develop a “no quit” on a play mentality that they have yet to show this year. Can we get serious? AJ, HC, OC, BLAME, BLAME. These coaches did not take their jobs to RAISE children. This was suppose to have been done at home by their parents. And here at this time don’t start talking trash about how some players come from poor and broken families. Whatever happened to the Hollywood story of poor ol single mom down on her worn knees cleaning floors so that her poor son can get a college education? Mom may work two jobs today but it’s to raise money to buy booze and drugs. Son is left to fend for himself by joining gangs, buying guns and sharing in mom’s vices.
If their sons are 4 star high school players doesn’t mean that thet’re mental ready for college! A large number of his high school buddies probably came the same type of household that the 4-star monkey did.

UGA needs to be more selective in their choice of players. 4 stars given to hot shot is not as good as a 4-star mother.
