With that kind of strategy and the nonchalance about the other team scoring, no wonder UGA is 1-3. This kind of thinking in a must win game is astounding.

Not scrimmaging is the root of all of UGA’s problems. If you don’t scrimmage, then you can’t be physical enough to win in the SEC. With supposed talent up and down the roster, CMR shouldn’t be worried about injuries. Just plug in the next player. I would rather have scrimmaged hardened 2nd teamer in there than a mentally/physically weak starter, who gives in when the game gets physical. CMR supposedly learned this lesson a couple of years ago, but apparently he was just giving lip service to the notion of scrimmaging. I wonder if Saban scrimmages..LOL. THIS IS FOOTBALL! Time for UGA to man up. They are way too soft.

We all have been watching and reflecting too….this is awful. I certainly hope for his job’s sake this is a deer n the headlights wake up call. I love Coach Richt and believe he is an honest Christian man with a wonderful family. However we all need to wake up in the reality that if your heart isn’t in being a coach anymore and championships aren’t the motivation to be a coach its time to move on. This has been “rebuilding” time after time. This was a terrible game played no matter how you cut it, dice it, and slice it.
Look to do the fans of UGA a disservice and make 2 million a year…thats a crime in my opinion… if your goal is not to win championships. Its fine to be a a Christian with a great Christian testimony its another to steal the fans and base blindly with a nonchalant caring attitude. I hope this watching and reflecting means”real” change is coming. You know who says the same thing too…OBAMA.

This is GA football and GA football doesn’t lose to SC, ARK and Miss State! Just doesn’t happen! Its time for a change and its time a change now not at the end of the season being lucky to go to a “who gives a crap” bowl game in early December! We have a new AD and he needs to step in!! Show some support for our team, our community, and for our HC. We are privileged to have him. He has one of the best records over the past decade in the NCAA and has proven that he can take care of business. We all go through times when we are tested and this is no doubt one of those times for CMR and the Dawgs, but I believe that this terrible start to the season will serve as a much needed wakeup call for our head coach and his boys, and that we will see a CMR and a Bulldog team that is driven, physical, and has something to prove in the games to follow.

I too believe CMR is a good man, to much to a fault, he has got to get rid of bobo, or it will be to late to save his own job. Same with willie, he waited to long. He showed a little more spunk on the sideline than usual, but he should have went over, smacked bobo in the head and told him to get his sorry no play calling a$$ off the field. Play the kids that really want to play for the rest of the season, sit down the scared to hit prima-donnas, and get rid of the clowns that make the STUPID penalites! If you show you care, and figure this out after you “reflect”, maybe you can salvage something of the season, if not maybe the new AD can show you the door. Yes i am loyal through and through and i will not quit on the dawgs, but dang, something really needs to change and i am falling to the other side of the fence…in other words tired of defending these nonchalant coaches and players!

Our defense let them convert too many 3rd down situations. Several times on 2nd and 9, we called running plays that got 1 yard or no gain, putting pressure on Murray to convert 3 and 9. He did a good job, but no QB can do that consistently.

cant believe what im hearing. You guys say its just bobo its deeper. Bobo calls the plays according to CMR s offense and gameplan. Wake up. Im not at all comfortable being mediocre. Florida lost everything including coordinators 4-0. These are his players his staff and his approach of coaching. Even he is tired of it. Reflect on that.

I was glad to see caleb king come back,he didn’t get many carries though.Being the 84th team in the NCAA in rushing we need all the help we can get.Why in the world would they moved Tony Ball from RB coach to WR coach this year anyway.He was a really good RB coach,he played RB at UTC.Bryan McClendon took over for tony ball and bryan played WR at UGA makes no sense.Bad choices are being made as far as coaches go.My concern is what happens to Tony Ball or Rodney Garner or even Stacy Searels if CMR gets fired.Those first two coaches we can’t lose,I know our OL has not been great,but I believe stacy is a good coach from his good OL he has had at UGA in the past and other places he has been.I’m not saying don’t get rid of Richt,I think he drug the wille thing out way to long and should have been fired with wille.As far as BOBO goes,I like BOBO.I think if we can get the running game going then we can get the passing game to open up.Think about it who called the plays before BOBO,it was CMR right,he was the one who also gave up play calling to BOBO.So why would UGA have to go out and get some great OC to replace Bobo when Richt has been a OC and has called the plays at UGA.I can’t blame CMR for the defence because he didn’t play or coach that side of the ball,but offence is diffrent he played it and coached it.CMR needs to take some blame too.I Think he needs to roll up his sleaves and go to work with BOBO to see what they can do too get this offence going,instead of CMR stepping back from the problem and not trying to get it solved.We’ve had some really good offences under Mike Bobo,so we need to find out what the problem is.We know our defence isn’t going to do anything, so the offence has to get going so it can carry the load just like every year accept CMR gave this DC 800,000 a year.One more thing why is UGA going up to NJ and else where to recruit players,and not recruiting players in GA that play the same position.Leave the NJ running back alone and make sure you get Isaiah Crowell.(I know their after Isaiah supposably,we’ve heard the before, and saw GA players go elsewhere,their are other players UGA is not after in GA and instead are in other states looking.)Why don’t we go after these players and get them at UGA, Nick Saban,and urben meyer and others get thier guys, why can’t we put a fence around GA recruits and have the goal no other School can have them and compete for these players and get them at UGA.Georgia High school plays who have come in to UGA are the ones that have put UGA on the map.CMR has to get the GA players,because if he doesn’t other teams in the sec and other schools will.I’ll be glad to see either the coach from Oregon or the coach from Boise State coaching at UGA.Go Dawgs

If Coach Richt don’t dump Bobo … we should dump Mark Richt. If he’s not strong enough to make needed changes, he’s not strong enough to coach Georgia. CMR addmitted it … “we just called running plays blindly”. Called plays blindly!!!! That’s not coaching … that’s guessing. Mike Bobo did not have a game plan, did not have a clue, coached the game “BLINDLY” just like Richt said. Bobo should be demoted today and CMR should make the game plan and call the plays. It could not be any worse than it is now. CMR is on his way out. The AD should call CMR this afternoon and ask if he would consider resigning for the good of the program. If he don’t can Bobo, he deserves it. Loyalty and friendship are good qualities in most of life but not in the competitive world of college football. Mike Bobo just can’t cut it as OC and to delay the ax is going to cause greater problems for Richt. Bobo goes now or Richt goes later.

84th in the nation in rushing. It’s a big success when we gain two yards and hold on to the ball. Ealey lost the Arkansas game by throwing a “look out” block for Murray and lost this game on the goal line. The undisciplined, independent, lazy, independent “thug” lifestyle of this current UGA team is showing up on the field and CMR isn’t strong enough to do anything about it. CMR has lost control of the UGA program. It’s over. Play your freshmen and sophs and start building for next year. If CMR don’t demote or can Mike Bobo after these four games, he is really saying he cares more about friendship and loyalty than the Bulldawg team and nation. CMR has to do something about Bobo or the howls from the fans will be heard in the AD’s and President’s office. Come on guys, pull the trigger, make the changes NOW!!!!

I feel like I am caught in time and seeing a Willie rerun with Mike Bobo. CMR waited too long to can Martinez and is waiting way too long to do anything with Bobo. CMR will down play Bobo’s failures and weaknesses due to his loyalty and friendship. If I were head coach the sun would not go down tonight before Bobo would be packing his backs. It ain’t going to happen. Richt is too nice, too low key, too loyal, too valuable a friend to Bobo. It ain’t going to happen.

I wish CMR were unlikeable, as this would make the required changes easier. Players care more about selling jerseys, rings, etc. than saving them as a reminder of the honor of playing for UGA. The team has gone 2-7 in its last 9 SEC games. Terrible decisions have been made, perhaps out of loyalty and other good character attributes, but nonetheless terrible. For example, Joe Cox was owed nothing but an opportunity to compete for a job, but CMR let him have a year, when the time could have been used to help mature Murray. ETC., ETC.

Toccoa Dawg – Aaron Murray is not the problem. He doesn’t call the plays, he doesn’t block the defense, he doesn’t play defense. He is very talented and is one of the lone bright spots (along with the play of Kris Durham) for Georgia so far this season.

So far I don’t see any improvement from Martinez to Grantham. Our defensive players seem to get pushed around by everyone. Bobo continues to call running plays into a stacked line of scrimage that is so obvious even I can see that Miss. State has 9 or 10 players on the line. And that great O-line of ours continues to underachieve. I don’t know what to think of Coach Richt. It’s as if some body snatcher has taken away the man who was one of the top 3 coaches in the country in his first 6 years and replaced him with Ray Goff. What has happened to UGA football since 2007?

Know the biggest problem Richt has? It’s a common management problem, and it’s called letting personal loyalty come before making decisions in the best interests of the business. And in Coach Richt’s case he let that loyalty come in the form of his offensive and defensive coordinators, which in effect is now proving out to be his death sentence as UGA coach. It’s sad and so unnecessary, but I have a feeling he’s now going to be like Hitler in the bunker – the outcome is obvious, but he’ll wait it out as long as he can….

Last night (and this season in general) showed the effect of losing recruiting wars to neighboring SEC teams. We’ve been beaten on the O and D line all year.

The combination of off-the-field and on-the-field problems = the end of the Mark Richt era at UGA.

This is too painful to take any longer. Richt needs to get rid of Bo Bo and the entire offensive coaching staff. We need someone to motivate this team and kick their butts in practice and during the games, especially the O-line. What the hell is going on. Murray will be knocked out of the game soon. Quit the “he is only a freshman” crap. David Greene was a freshman and look what that team accomplished! Richt is pulling another “protect my boy Bo Bo and the staff, just like he did with Willie. He should have brought in an offensive genuis or canned the offensive staff and took over himself. If he can’t do this now, then he needs to resign and allow us to bring in someone who puts the program’s success first. Someone with fire in his soul that will get the best out of his team day in and day out.

So, anybody miss CWM yet? Gee, a 3-4 defense seems like no defense at all. There is a coach at UNLV who was at Univ. of Montana who knows how to coach and win. His defense will hit and hit hard, not arm tackle like our semi-tough defense. This season is over. Go get the guy today and get this program back on track. Heck, I saw better hits in a high school team Friday night.

First of all – As a fan I am disappointed in the year so far and I also feel badly for our kids – certainly they want to win more than we want them to. The defense did well for almost 3 qtrs. – at that point those kids probably just wore out waiting for the offense to chip in. If the offense score a few points the D gets pumped up and plays with some fire…as it was, the D just collapsed at the end. I don’t think D is our problem. The offense which was supposed to be the supporting cast around Murray (who is getting the crap beat out of him) has totally been a no show. I am clueless as to how we can have that much talent and play so poorly. Before last night I was not too concerned. After last night I can see some wheels wobbling about this program. The only people who seem to know less about what they are doing are the talking heads who said we had the best O line in the country – it appears they need to be reevaluated also. After watching SC and Arkie play yesterday it is obvious we lost to two good teams there – BUT – Miss. St. is not a good team – last night reminded me of the Tennessee game where we made an average team look great. I am a Dawg fan till the end but I think a lot of us are hurting right now for the kids, the program and for ourselves – still, it’s just a game my friends – don’t make more of it that what it is GO DAWGS|!|

The Dawgs will be alright. But what is needed? For one, the return of A.J. Green will do wonders for this team. That is worth 2 touchdowns and when you couple that with the way Durham is playing, some teams are going to have a hard time defending this team. I think Grantham like most Pro guy’s just didn’t quite understand the differences in the pro game and the college game but his defense will get better. (On that note we see UGA should have hired Manny Dial the Miss. State D Coor. he is a young budding STAR. CMR almost did but went for a bigger name) UGA has good backs but all stock must be put into signing a GREAT running back. Recruiting has been great so you can’t point your finger there but the whole program, Coach, Staff, players just are going to have to get tougher now and FIGHT LIKE A JUNK YARD DOG.!!!!! CMR you’ll be alright, hold on to your faith!

The highly vaunted offensive line is pathetic. They are physically dominated week in and week out.

Richt needs to take over the playcalling immediately. Lakotas’ secondary doesn’t have a clue as to where they need to be on any given play.

CMR will probably fire bobo to save his job. We should not put up with that. We need to take action now. Some ask, what coach to hire? It does not matter at the moment. Look at Alabama they had to go through a few before Saban. The quicker we go ahead and FIRE CMR, the better off we will be. The reverse is also true. The longer we wait, the less desirable the job will be making the hire even tougher. 9 players from Georgia on BAMA roster. 64 players on BAMA roster from the state of ALABAMA. long way from the majority as one poster stated. Majority are from the state of ALABAMA. SABAN is just hands down a better coach and that is the difference.

Richt should have looked within before the season started. This team looks like a joke. Time for a coaching change. Again, he has waited too long to make the proper coaching decision to fire Bobo and Searles and so the decision should be made to get rid of him. UGA is the laughing stock of the SEC and it will get worse. The teams looks out of place and not well coached and that is a reflection of the coaching staff. It is past time to fire this coaching staff. There is no way UGA should be this bad. We should consistently be a top five team competing for a NC every year and with this staff it will be excuses instead of wins. It’s beginning to look like Grantham is a bust at DC and Georgia State looks better than UGA. Better coaching makes the difference. We can continue to be blind to the lack of coaching but, the proof is on and off the field. The change on the offensive side of the ball needs to happen today and not tomorrow and at the end of the season, Richt and his staff needs to go. They cannot properly recruit the state and do not attempt to sign top players from around the country. This program should be at a national level such as Florida and Alabama, but now we have sank to the bottom of the SEC. Excuses won’t bring us any wins. This is not a rebuilding project we look worse than a start up program.

mark richt should have been fired on the field following the arkansa game. infact he should have been fired last year when ut beat georgia by 30 points. and mike bobo could not call plays for a high school team. this is really sad a once proud football program is pure garbage. they are the worst team in the sec. in yet they have the same number players n the nfl today as the gators. nick saban urban myers those are coaches. mark richt should become a preacher god knows he is no coach.

Dawgdreamer, support does not mean to succumb to failure. Support is realizing that your teams coaching staff is not getting it done and the excuses keep mounting. A big supporter is someone that isn’t so stupid to keep making excuses week in and week out that they will get better when they have been getting worse the last 3 years. So if you are the kind of the fanbase that wants to keep supporting a coaching staff that has coached a team to the bottom of the SEC, then Kudos to you, but personally i’m a fan hungry for a NC, something that we have not experienced sinc 1980.

When Richt was winning games, nobody seemed to mind that 10% of his scholarship players were locked up each year. The turning point of Richt’s coaching career came when he sent the team on the field to dance like dope fiends at a Grateful Dead Concert. There have been no consequences for bad behavior or sloppy play. Spurrier sat Garcia on the bench for fumbling. Richt pats Ealey on the back for fumbling and missing blocks. Richt must go, but the evil puppet master, Adams, must go too.

Scout team offensive line, suite up your playing the rest of the season

If anyone is arrested your off the team period

Bobo go back to being a QB’s coach or dust your resume off

Searls just dust your resume off

Gratham put someone in who doesnt get blowed off the line and can tackle or dust your resume off

Van Halenger dust your resume off

Richt you need find some players who are motivated to play at UGA and not motivated to design Team uniforms

I hope when CMR looks within he will see a coach who has not produced a team for several years that is diciplined, motivated, only aggressive occasionally. I hope he looks deep enough to see that his coaching style is just not getting it done. Something has got to change drastically in a hurry. This program has turned into a total trainwreck. I have always been a CMR supporter but there is something terribly wrong with our program.

uga-TNDAWG has it right. The problem may very well be the position coaches. We get 2 highly recruited RB’s and they are mediocre at UGA. How many times have we had the RB’s fumble in critical situations. We have all of these top recruits and with AJ out the only play-maker we have on offense is Murray. We don’t have a play-maker on defense. I think the defense will improve, but we have to recruit players for the new scheme. I think Grantham will be great, but we definitely have problems at our position coaches. These are the changes that CMR needs to address.

Get use to it because you got a loss coming from 3 or 4 more teams at least. You will NEVER win another SEC Championship under Richt or a National Championship anytime soon. If you don’t think Richt should be fired you have your head up your a$$. We will always be mediocre unless we take the necessary risks to be great. Bottomline keeping Richt should not even be an option with his results. Also it is really not even up to us, it is up to AD Greg McGarity. I sure do pray he does his job! Dan Mullen and Chris Petersen. What do they have in common? They’re doing much more with much less than Mark Richt and company ever thought of. CMR is a fine Christian man, but as even he well knows, the Bible says there is a time for all seasons, and now his time is over. Keep an eye open for the Dan Mullen – Greg McGarity connection. They both worked together at Florida and were part of the National Championships down there. That’s only if you’re interested in winning and that sort of thing.

I don’t know if anybody reads this stuff, but the problems at UGA right now come down to pure and simple lack of discipline. Lack of team discipline, and lack of self discipline by the players. Players that want to win are in the weight room NOT the bar room in the off season. At this level you have to want to win, and not be focused on just having a good time. People are critical of a lot of our coaches. To me one of the main problems is a lack of strength and conditioning. We get good players, but everyone we play seems to be bigger, faster, stronger and more aggressive.
Spurrier hit it right on the head when he said, ” Recruiting Georgia gets the best players, but when we play we have the best players”.

To anyone who knows or knows little about football, it is obious our offensive line is the main problem. Blocking is a joke; Washon Ealey obviously has not been coached. How many games will the coaches allow him to lose for us??? He turned and saw the ball in the end zone and could have easily fell on it. I admire Coach Richt as a Christian, but I also admired Jimmy Carter as a man. As a head coachh and president, both are sorely lacking!! Hire Chris Peterson

That is just totally not factual at all. Grantham’s D allowed 30 fewer points vs SC and ARK than in ‘09. Does anybody remember that even the great Saban’s first year’s 3-4 D at Bama was bad – they even lost to Louisiana-Monroe. It was a full year before his players got familiar withthe new D and started dominating.

If your offense can only score 6 and 12 points, you aren’t gonna win many games.

You must have a short memory if you want Willie M back. His defenses in ‘08 and ‘09 combined to give up:

Uh oh, the Colorado Buff;oes are 2-1, having beat Hawaii, that power house that propelled the dawgs to a # 1 preseason ranking by a score of 31-13.

Now comes the bad part:

there is no air for the dawgs to breath at over a mile high—-don’t forget the oxygen tanks.

Offense – Ealey is bad, cant break tackles or pass block. OL is missing assignments, some defenders are crossing the line UNTOUCHED. Play calling is a joke, please return to calling the plays coach. We used to run a lot more no huddle. AJ has been a huge distraction.
Defense – Grantham does not the players for this scheme. A 325+ pound nose guard is needed and ours is Tyson at 275. Give the man time and this will improve.

We did nothing to address the blitz. Waggle, screen, slant routes, extra blockers, three step drops…at least try something. It was obvious the line couldn’t block.

Richt acted surprised the defense loaded up the box to force us into passing downs and then blitzed on the passing downs. Really? Any first year coach could tell you that. Any coach making $2 million a year should have had a game plan ready for it. You knew before the season that the defenses would do that…and yet we still haven’t addressed it.

Richt…step up and take the blame like the Texas coach did for their failure. You are ultimately responsible if your assistants aren’t capable. You have the opportunity to correct the problems during the game yet only get involved when it is too late. Step on the toes of the coaches when you have to. Step up and do your job…or step down.

CMR won’t let Grantham be himself…. You can tell his wings were clipped. But in some ways Grantham needed to cut down the F-bombs….. That would hurt recruiting. A mother doesn’t want to see thier son getting the F– in the face on TV. Don’t misunderstand me… chew their A– out, but tone down the big ones in front of the camera. i think the players really wanted that tough love… it has been missing. @ savannadawg: I do remember you touting Diaz; probably been a better short-term fix. Why hire a DC with a 3-4 philosophy when it will take 2-3 years at least to get his players in place? This UGA team is so much smaller than other SEC teams. You have become FSU-lite. You have to stop recruiting 5-star athletes and get more 3-star football players. I think alot has to do with recruiting. We are slow, weak, and dumb!. Maybe we aren’t developing players like we should. I don’t believe that when I see true freshmen playing on other teams. Look at the running back from NC State. UGA’s back falls down with nothing but an open field ahead of him. Let him go play intramurals. We have a corner that was 10 yards or more off the guy he was defending. We have a back that can’t hang on to the ball inside the 10. Our Offensive line got knocked back 5 yards at time. Our DE jumps off sides with it 3 and 4. We have a TD called back because a wideout grabs instead of blocking. What does he think the official is looking at. Just alot of frustration. We have no playmakers except for our suspended wideout and our two kickers. Get out an get football players and don’t go by combines and recruiting services. Recruit talent, work ethic, leadership and discipline and we will be back. Our talent is weak. And don’t say it isn’t.

I don’t get it. Richt beat Saban when S. was at LSU. We looked like a football team for several years then BAM, we look like the worst t . . . whoops almost said “team” which we are not. The GA team is absolutely—according to rating services and other teams offering scholorships–loaded with talent, and the fielded team looks like they don’t have a clue. Mississippit St didn’t look much better. that was maybe the worst football game I’;ve seen. We have progressively gotten worse for the last few years with a few spurts mixed in. It’s painfully obvious tht the current staff doesn’t know what’s wrong. I’m quite sure they would fix it if they knew how but it’s obvious they don’t, so . . . .

From an outsiders point of view: the state of georgia is ful of talent and we all outside of uga fans know it has become a place to steal recruits.
Now we all also know that if we were smart we would keep our mouths shut and let Mark Richt and his poor staff keep coaching at UGA and therefore taking wins from a program that has the 5th best Prep talent in the country.
Uga is a second tier program and will win about once every 5 years a conference title or be truly competitive
About every 4 years.
Uga is the laughing stock of the east now. Until UT goes on probation and the heat is placed on the VOLS for Kiffins action the heat will rest squarely on Mark Richt and the University of Georgia, and it is deserved. UGA is dragging down a good conference with mediocre coaching.

Everyone knows what plays are coming from Bobo. The screen was working good. Mississippi had the pressure on the quarterback and the running game. Bobo never made adjustments. AJ is going to be rusty coming back. Lets the young qb run more. How bad is durham hurt? The dawgs do not have enough beef on the defensive line, everyteam is going to run it down their throat. The dawgs are smaller than everyone!!!!! Idk what is going on there. Special Teams wins ball games. hint hint. Discipline the players making idiot mistakes. I just do not think MR is using the time given to coach these players. There is no tight ship at Uga. Play through injuries. I support the dawgs. The dawgs could have won every game so far. As a Gator alum, I want the Bulldogs to be good, it makes the game in Jax that much better. You say you have to look to find the problem. Let me give you a clue. Offense – Worst playing calling I have ever seen. Let’s look at the strength of the defense and run to it. Defense – Absolutely no pressure on the quarterback after the first game. Since we can’t seem to rush the passer, we might as well drop all 11 back in coverage. We might get lucky and intercept one. At least we might have a defender within 10 yards of the receiver.

I am sure, knowing some of the “good ol boy’s” on the search committee, that the decision has been made and the process has begun.

Coach Richt has done many good things at UGA. He had a good run due to the recruiting done by those before him. He had 2 great defensive coaches. His offensive play calling was fresh, daring and showed a stoke of genius. His coaches moved on…, the recruits were not of caliber of those before and Coach Richt became the CEO. The CEO of team that was slowly bleeding it’s assets and heritage dry.

Coach Richt, in his rise in prominence in the SEC lost sight of why he was hired in the first place. As a student of Bobby Bowden and coach for him, he designed offensive schemes that no one in the country could keep up with.

but now he has turned into a CEO and given the reason why he was hired to an assistant…..

Words cannot express how disappointed I am in the Dawgs right now. For those of you referring to Richt’s Christian faith please leave that out of the discussion. I do admire his faith, but College Football is a business that requires results. Quite frankly the results simply are not there. In any business when results do not happen changes must be made. I have no clue what will happen, but I do know that something must! Richt needs to cut the ties to Bobo. At the very least he should be demoted from calling plays. The defense, despite all the negative posts here, is in better shape than last year. The biggest problem with Richt is that he makes poor decisions and is too loyal to the wrong people. Just look at some of those that he has been blindly loyal to: Tereshinski, Cox and Martinez to name a few. I think Bobo should be demoted and Richt put on notice that there must be some compelling reason in December for him to remain the head Dawg. The reality is that we are not going to get him replaced with a long term answer in the middle of the year. Let’s see if the team can rally behind the coach and if CMR can make tough choices. This is definitely a low point for our team. It would be easy to blame AJ and he is partially to blame. With him in the lineup, we probably are 3-1. He is that much of a difference when he is on the field drawing double coverage and allowing Durham and T. King some single coverage. Our O line has been horrific and what happened to Houston on defense? The team has many issues. The rest of the year could be really bad. Let’s hope Murray does not get injured. If that happens we may lose them all. Dawg fans I beg you to be critical of the coaching(that much is deserved), but let’s leave the personal attacks out of the discussion.

bama boy i guess you forgot a few years ago before saban the tide was not turning. and your school went out and did what any proud program would do hire a successful coach. mark richt has had alot of talent at georgia to work with and he has accomplished nothing. with the recruiting georgia has had under saban we would have also gone the last 3 years undefeated. i can coach georgia to 7 or 8 wins even with that idiot bobo as oc.

Some observations:

(1) Washedup Early is better than Knowless Moron was. I say keep feeding him the ball. The fumbles will stop.

(2) The player who got arrested for DUI last night can NOT have his points placed on the 2011 Fulmer Cup rankings. Fulmer Cup violations MUST occur in the “off-season” in order to count.

(3) Mike BooBoo is a genius, and should have his contract extended.

(4) Jury still out on Grantham, but I’d be looking for Willie “Shaken; not Stirred” Martini’s number on my speed dial.

(5) After last night’s game, I heard that A.J. Green is putting more jerseys on eBay. He’s hoping he can get suspended for the rest of the season.

(6) Georgia fans should stay optimistic. The Q.B. is improving, and there’s still Vandy, Kentucky, Idaho, and others on the schedule that will get them to a bowl game.

Why would Chris Peterson ever come to UGA?!?
Richt is the same coach than won us the SECC 2002 and 2005. The difference is he had better players. Ealey sucks. Our secondary sucks. Our O-line suck. Yeah, part of that comes down to recruiting/coaching, but at some point the players have to make the plays on the field…and they are not.

There was a UGA student in 1974, who saw QB- Rocky Felker and his MSU wishbone offense run wild on UGA and they won. It was in 1974, a very ugly loss, as 74 was one ugly year for UGA.

That kid is still in Athens. His name in Greg McGarity and he is the UGA-AD. He was unhappy in 74 and he is unhappy today. I will assure you.

It seems as if most of those posting here are brilliant coaches and have all the answers. I’m not sure where these guys played or coached but it is apparent from their deep knowledge of the game that they could fix things in a flash. All of them know more than the professional coaches running the team – that’s remarkable.

Truth is that Georgia has a less than stellar – OK, maybe a less than mediocre – team this time. Some of the loses make sense – Arkansas darn near beat Alabama and USC has a running back who may end up being a world beater. The loss to Miss. State isn’t as easy to explain.

But the reality is that teams – good ones – have bad years. We’re trying to learn a new defense with players who are not ideally suited for it; we have a novice quarterback (he’s going to be very good I think) who makes the sort of mistakes you’d expect him to make, and we lost some terrific players. So here we are with a team that isn’t performing – it’s painful but it does make sense.

Let the year play out – UGA will get better. It won’t be soon enough to matter, but it’ll happen. I think the coaching staff and the administration know that – right or wrong – there will be major personnel changes if the ship doesn’t right itself. So they’re motivated – because of the big bucks and prestige of their jobs – to fix the problem. I’d rather have that than some new coaches – who would have a honeymoon period without too much pressure for a couple of years.

Richt didn’t suddenly become an idiot. He’ll be working hard to fix things. If he can, then all this talk will go away. If he can’t (whether it should happen or not), he’ll be gone. So things are going to change, one way or another. Meantime, why not support the team and the coaches in public, no matter what you think in private? Kids considering the UGA will see that – the loyalty of the fan base – and appreciate it. Who wants to go to a school where, if you run into bad times, the fans desert you? If you are a fan, that’s literally the only thing you can do that would be helpful.

Coaches, CEOs, or any other high paid position, the results are the deciding factor. It doesn’t get discussed too often in the board room about a mans faith or his devotion to leading a good life (I think CMR is a good guy ) facts are, he is not getting the job done so, we have to go in another direction. Just a thought for those of you wanting to replace CMR with a big name coach: Shopping for a new coach can be a humbling experience.I realize UGA is not in as bad a shape as UT was (is), but alot of big name coaches are not interested in coming to the highly competitive SEC.Peterson showed absolutely no interst in the UT job either time it was open at any time and on a national scale I don’t thing the UGA job is any more attractive

I hear everyone about Bobo and I agree. I think my wife could call a better game then he has in the past 2 years. But, I do feel that another problem is our dawgs getting man handled on the field. That comes down to Strength!!!! I think it is time to make a change with our strength coach! There is no reason why UGA should get blown off the ball every play! Our defense should be in the backfield more but they cant b/c they are too weak to push through the o-line. And can we get someone that knows how to hit. Maybe the reason we aren’t getting any turnovers is b/c we dont hit hard enough to make the other guys fumble!!

The tough reality is that I can’t recall ever seeing a head coach make a turn around on a program that has tumbled this far. This tells me, that if we wait to replace CMR we are prolonging his pain and ours. Replace CMR and get back to a tradition that is REAL GEORGIA FOOTBALL.

How is this a suprise to anyone who keeps up with football? It took Nick Saban a full year to install the 3-4 D and two years before they were dominate. Saban himself tried to hire Grantham after his first season at Bama.

Even with a new defense, and mostly new players, he still cut SC and ARK scores by 30 points from last season.

If our offense is scoring 6 and 12 points, I doubt we will be winning games against anybody. In fact, if you take away the three TDs we scored the last two weeks after falling behind by double digits, and Ark and Miss State going in a prevent-type defense, our offense has done close to nothing all this season.

UGA’s problem is not the D. It’s the O. Our OC has proven over and over he is in over his head at game-planning and in-game adjustments. That, along with our predictable sets (remember Kiffin’s line, “Georgia is the easiest team on our schedule to prepare for. They’re running the same stuff they have for 10 years”) That was before the game, and before UT stiffled Bobo’s offense (3 points).

It was a wake-up call that still hasn’t been heard by Bobo’s Boss.

But you can bet the Big Boss (McGarity) has seen enough. He has seen excellence up close and personal for several years in Gainesville. He will force Richt’s hand on the OC. The only problem is we’ll have to wait til the end of the season for changes.

I like Richt as a person but for the last 3 years his program has been on a downward spiral. 2008 they started the season ranked #1 in the country and ever since have gradually/ steadily gotten worse in all phases of the program – defense, offense, special teams, team disciplines, and team discipline. Bobo is a dodo. Richt admits he hasn’t a clue of what to do. When your best player on the team is the punter it’s time to clean house and start over.

Why does this happen to an otherwise good program with so much potetial?
Why does a good coach and a good program lose his/its direction?
Is it the rich alums pulling the strings and getting in the way?
When things break down – where are the trick plays? spread offense?

This is one frustrated fan who is finding something else to do until changes are made!!

Message to Outsider……This is much more than a National Championship. Look at the trend against significant opponents in or outside the SEC in the last three seasons. Some of the wins were way too difficult and many of the losses were wipe outs. At the University of Georgia we are not about being “half-way relevant. This is a program that is rich with generations of a winning tradition. The ID of “Outsider” is actually what I call RELEVANT.

You guys can forget about Peterson. Peterson has been approached time and time again and always says “no”. The reasons are simple and they won’t change. His entire family loves to snow ski and you can’t do that in Athens. He makes enough money to be more than happy and rich for the rest of his life and has the perfect lifestyle for his family. He is there for the duration.

Smart has no head coaching experience and you risk another 4 years of mediocrity of you roll the dice on an asssistant coach. If you want to get a coach with “elite” potential in the SEC and nationally, get your checkbook out and get Gary Patterson from TCU. After the Big 12 near-disintigration, he may be ready to make a move to the best conference now.

Georgia needs a coach with both “wheelbase” and “horsepower” and that means writing a large check for a coach that has proven they can do the job at this level.

I reallly don’t want to try to fix our woes now with our current starters. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, play some walk-ons and some freshmen. IF you do this, at least you can say we are building for the future. Otherwise this current trend will continue. CMR. YOU WANT TO FIX IT????? It has to be accomplished starting today. The team needs to run until they cannot move anymore. Monday and Tuesday from hear on out they need to be HITTING one another. Screw the injuries. Wed. Run Just the specific plays you WILL execute on Saturday. Thursday. Study the enemies O and D. Friday. Have a pep rally with the team and the student body to promote cohesivness with the students. And CMR get your butt out there and promote your team. I don’t care about the wins and loses anymore, It’s about this teams future

Now this is football coach. He turned programs around and won at every NCAA level——Richt, not so much.

Meyer became the sixth fastest coach in NCAA history to reach 100 career wins. He improved to 100-18 at Florida, Utah and Bowling Green, hitting the century mark faster than anyone except Gil Dobie (108 games), George Woodruff (109), Bud Wilkinson (111), Fielding Yost (114) and Knute Rockne (117).

We need to accept at some point that we fans did a pretty poor job of assessing what this team was capable of doing and how these players would perform. I can’t believe that every SEC team we play has a better coaching staff across the board. UGA has had too good a program for too long for that to be the case. There’s some truth in CMR’s comments that we haven’t been that far from winnning all the games we’ve lost. Each game might have been an ugly win, but the possibilities were there. Would winning ugly lead to the cries to fire Richt? I doubt it. We’d all be saying it just points out that UGA’s destined to win! There clearly are issues gnawing around the edges of this program. The worst is the lack of player accountability for these arrests–and that points to a lack of leadership among the players, especially the seniors, who should take charge of player behavior and assist the coaches in keeping the idiots in line, or running them off the team. The program’s in a lifeboat right now, and just surviving this season is the best that can happen. But if you really want to see things go from bad to worse, throw the captain and the rowers overboard. Let’s hold things together and try to get a clear perspective on the way ahead next year. And we ought to start by accepting that UGA’s a long way from a NC any time soon, no matter who gets fired.

Coaching and running a good, sound system = winning. Look at Georgia Southern. They did away with the option! NO playoffs,failure, losing. Fire Coach, Bring in new Coach, Jeff Montken. Return option, defense, fire and motivation from coach. 7-13 loss vs Navy just beat the #11 team in FBS. GA Southern back in the top 25 winning–GOOD SYSTEM AND GOOD COACHES = WINNING!!!!

I don’t necessarily agree with those who are clamoring for a high-profile assistant like Smart of Muschamp rather than a proven head coach. Dave Wannstedt and Charlie Weis were once high-profile assistants, too.

But if we go that route, I say go with Muschamp. He has fire, which this team has lacked for years.

If I’m Muschamp, I might not take the job. Austin, TX isn’t a bad place to live if you have money, and he would be taking over a well-oiled machine (Saturday’s result notwithstanding). Georgia has been mostly mediocre for 25 years now. It might just be part of the culture of the program.

A great coach surrounds himself with great assistants. We have a new defense coord. that must proove himself. He needs time to get the recurits he picks on defense. Now Bobo was a quarterback. just because you were a college quarterback does not make you a offensive coord. Lets get a new offensive coord. and give them time to recurit. someone’s got to be held accountable, period!!! a few things to consider when figuring out who…
1)defensively-can’t stop the zone read play(and we still play a bunch of teams that do the same thing), plus, rushing 4 guys all night(we had that last year), ain’t gonna cut it,, i’m thinking we should’ve hired Manny Diaz..
2)a QB who leads us 6 pts a half(sometimes a game) ain’t gonna cut it..
3)no RB’s who can break more than a 7 yd run consistently(if that),,ain’t gonna cut it..
4)an OC who can’t understand the play action isn’t working against LB’s blitzing all night…
5)nobody figuring out yet that Brandon Boykin is our best option at RB, he’s a playmaker that could be similar to Reggie Bush,,he’s got to touch the ball more than just on kickoffs..
6)an OL that just ain’t gonna cut it…
7)DB’s that still look into the back-field while guys are running 5 yds behind them wide open..(had this last year also)
8)a HC that hasn’t seen/realized any of this yet..

BUT, we do have a serious kick-azz recruiting class in the works..something to consider, also…

Georgia being back and competitive is a good thing for the SEC. We need you back Dawgs! Tennessee has started the long road to comeback, and I believe UGa will tread that tough road also. Look at Michigan, they’ve had some adjustment pains over the past couple of years. The talent at UGa is too good – they have underperformed and underdeveloped their players for years. This needs to change. Hopefully McGarrity can institute the UF Jeremy Foley model and get UGa back on the road to winning. This coming from a die Hard Gator all the way.

There is no leadership — none in the coaching staff, and none with the players. Georgia has lost its swagger (apparently some time ago), and won’t improve until some things change. The offense is erratic, with poor play calling, poor blocking, and poor decisions. The D is doing what it can, but with so many “3 and outs” by the offense, they can’t carry the load. I feel sad for the team. The “what-if” crowd, and the “fire Richt, fire Bobo, fire Searles, fire Grantham, fire the water-girl” crowd will grow more vociferous. They will want a miracle with a “second coming of a Saban-like” HC, in the form of Muschamp, Smart, or Petersen, who will swoop in and hand out super-doggy treats. There are 8 games left — two thirds of a season — and the white towels are unfurling already. Dawgs — fans and players — are you going to fight, or slink under the porch for the rest of this season?

When I stated that Murray is a true freshman QB, I was only stating a fact. The man has played great ball and has shown improvement in every game this year. I strongly believe in him and his ability to take this team far in the rest of this season, and seasons to come. Heck, he was the best runner on our team yesterday. He and Durham mesh quite well together on O, and I think we can expect to the same from he and Green as well.

Getting rid of Richt would be a huge loss for this team. Yes, I do believe that he has drawn the Bobo thing out too long, but I also believe he will learn from his first ever third consecutive loss.

The truth of the matter is… Mark Richt has been asleep at the wheel for the last 3 years…He fallen into the late Dooley, Bowden trap of becoming a spectator on your own sidelines.
We have NO special teams plan…Put Logan Gray back to Fair catch…never rush extra points or field goals OR punts.
We have an OC that’s looks like a scared Grad Student trying not to lose ball games. He’s not aggressive, imaginative or flexible and is therefore very predictable.
We have recruited undersized D backs that want to be thugs but don’t know how to tackle.. We have been one of the top penalized teams in College Football the last three years and the only thing we lead Division I in is off field arrests. The quality of recruiting has slipped noticeably wheres our Ingram or Larrimore? Caleb King ??? Fumbles Ealy ??
We have not only lost our swagger we look like a Div II team last night.
Mark Richt need’s to put the headphones back on and take over the play calling at least he will gain back a little control over his immediate future until we can find a coach next spring.

We need to fire Bobo. There is no debating it or “thinking about it.” He is not doing his job over the past two years, and he is predictable and being outcoached by every other coach in the league. I like our coaches, and I pull for them. I want us to win and I want them to be successful, but this is a major college football program. We cannot afford to to sit back and “wait.” Enough promises. enough cliches. Enough with talking about us being a young team (which we are not). Results are what one seeks, and this coaching staff has not delivered them for two years.

I like CMR – he appears to be a good man. I think he genuinely is competitive and wants to win. I think Bowden’s concern’s about him possibly being “too nice” to make tough choices are turning out to be prophetic. He is too slow to pull the trigger. In contrast, Spurrier fired his own son from play calling. CMR feels responsible to the coaches and their families – but he needs to balance this with his responsibility to the team and fans. If a player isn’t getting it done they need to be demoted, and same goes for the coaches. I think Bobo, McClendon, and possibly Searles will be promonant in CMR’s reflections. I think Grantham and the rest of the D caoches were the right hire and the D will improve. Two things are killing us right now – a lack of a true nose and a youthful secondary that repeatedly gets manipulated out of position. The lack of power at the nose causes our D to be soft against the run and our secondary tries to cheat up and then we get burned. Our D is suppossed to be an attacking D, but to me we look like we are on our heels much of the game and the opponent’s offense is dictating to the D at this point – I think this will slowly change with time and our D will become increasingly dominant. We really need to get this trend going to make the case to recruits about what Grantham is building. I think he impresses recruits with his football smarts, but if there is no evidence on the field it’s a tough sell.

Even with the problems we’ve been having on D though, the points allowed are relatively low (about half of what we had been giving up in recent years) and if our offense could puts some points on the board we’d have Ws instead of Ls.

As for the offense – our playbook has been relatively static over the years. I remember an Auburn player saying, “Georgia always does the same thing, they don’t even try to disguise it, they basically say this is what we are going to do, let’s see if you can stop us.” That’s great when you are physical at the line and talented enough to jam it down their throats or go over the top (see Bama), but we obviously can’t get away with this at this time, so we need to adjust. Right now the Ds we are facing are loading the box – how many single coverages did you see last night? It was there, we just didn’t take it…until we make them pay with the passing game, our run game will be non-existant and we will continue to struggle. When CMR was with FSU his offensive plan and playcalling was aggressive and fast paced – he took it to the opponent – I haven’t seen that at Georgia since David Greene left…

As for Peterson – I think BSU’s success would not translate to the SEC – anymore than it did when Hawkins left BSU to coach Colorado. We need to go after a top notch offensive coodinator – it would infuse some fresh perspective. Before last night we still had a chnace to win the East assuming SC had 3 SEC losses (which they will), BAMA beat Fla (probable) and we beat beat Fla. (long shot). After last night there’s no hope. May as well make the change now and let this season be like an extended Fall camp to install a new system and prepare the team for next year. CMR is not Tuberville, I think the bulldog nation would give him a few seasons to work it out, but he’s got to show that he is willing to continue to make some bold moves to improve the program.

Number 1 thing to do Monday morning is to kick Baker off the team! Number 2 thing is to have a team meeting and state every starter in the Miss.State game is now second string, they will not start the game in Colorado. All second stringers are now starters! We will have a two platoon system for the remainder of this season. Every player Ist or 2nd string will play half the game.Number 3.let Mason play half of each game.We are one hit on murray that will put us in really deep dodo.Number 4. I’m 58 years old. I guess there was a time in my childhood when GA sucked pretty bad, but I don’t remember it well. What I know now is that GA IS without a doubt the weakest team in the SEC. It can’t be disputed. We are the worst! And this is the first time in my lifetime that I’m ashamed of this football program. And another arrest today! Disgusting!

Hence: It is Richt’s fault. This man is WAY over paid. This is pathetic. We can’t fire him in the middle of the season, but for sure we can plan to get rid of Bobo. BTW, those calling out Grantham – look, the offense makes the defense look bad. This may have been our biggest problem last year. How Richt could not see that we needed a new OC……. ?????? GA has to get rid of Bobo and all offensive coaches and Garner. Warning to Richt: Win 9 games minimum in 2011 or you are done!

Everybody else could see that Martinez wasn’t even close to doing an acceptable job. Now all in Bulldawg nation see’s a problem with Bobo being able to handle a coordinators job.He should have been replaced last year.
CMR you are are least 2 years behind where you should be in getting your staff right.The longer you wait to accept that you have a problem the longer it will take to getting the results that are acceptable. You just can’t make a change and expect everything to be perfect.

I dont think you can compare peterson and dan hawkins …Chris peterson has been there 4 years now and they are number three in the country and undefeated again in 2010. He would do better at Georgia with the bed of talent they have here for him to recruit from…He has good coaches around him and their playcalling is not predictable. On top of that Peterson is a discliplinary coach that does not even let his players on twitter. I think he would be a perfect fit for the Dawgs IF we choose to go down that road. I would love to see CMR somehow get everything fixed and start being the coach I know he is but at this freeze frame in time its not looking too good right now.

I don’t usually post but I have to say that Georgia is the worst coached team in the SEC. They can’t block, tackle, hold on to the ball or be disciplined enough to not get penalties at critical points. That was the worst excuse for Georgia football ever. Mike Bobo is a pitiful Offensive coordinator and the defensive secondary is sickening. Our players are getting the shaft when it comes to adequate coaching.

Adams fired Donnna for three losses in a row to GT and a couple of other issues, like playing that loser QC at QB. Where Richt is now and where he has has been for the last 4 years is just as serious.

Now, CMR needs to create an “us against the world” attitude on his team. That is his only play to salvage his job and his assistants. This has to be done. It must be done only this way:

Line in the sand ………. BOOT KICK Ealey and AJ off of the team. AJ needs to be gone from the actual sideline as his continued presense is not needed and it would be a huge negative. Kris Durden is our starter …………period. We can lose w.o. AJ Green.

For the remaining Dogs, tell them that they are all being evaluated and that their scholarships can be revoked. Create a very competitive envrinoment. Practice should be brutal and full of rage and anger and animosity by the players at each other that should be re directed to the opposition prior to the game. This is called channeling.

Why? Richt must win two or three break through games in 2010 in order to keep his job. He must demonstrate that he is tough enough to be the UGA Head Coach ……….otherwise, he needs to be gone.

Folks ………with the current no name players and a lack of talent on this squad, on the O and D lines and at linebacker and corner backs and running back …………UGA is at lest 2 years and maybe 3 from being really good again. It is this serious gang.

1) With Richt’s record he will not be fired after 1 losing season. 2) a wise coach wil fit his schemes and play calls to his personnel. If the personnel is not there for the 3 4 it should have been put off for a year. 3) Richt has experimented with being CEO, it has not worked. He must take responsibility for offense and if he wants Grantham to be responsible for defense, let him coach as he pleases. 4)These running backs need a fire lit under them. Show them tapes of Murray running as examples of how to fight for first downs.

As witnessed last year, no one is going to get fired in the middle of the season because of any amount of grumbling. Petersen isn’t going to catch the next flight out of Boise to come save the day. I am a TRUE Dawg Fan. Win or lose, I would still support the Dawgs. But I must say that Coach Richt had better get a lot more assertive with his players, and coaching staff. He has to get very tough on the Coaches, and the players as well. As mush as I am a rivalry with Steve Spurrier, (being anywhere and playing against the Dawgs) I have to admit that Coach Steve Spurrier makes champions out of his players. He also has absolutely no tact when it comes to his players, and his coaching staff. If there is something wrong with either of them, he will definitely make it known to them, and to the public. Last night, against Auburn, he took out Garcia (Quarterback) and benched him. In Garcia’s replacement, he put in a freshman quarterback without any hesitation. You see, Coach Steve Spurrier, says what he means, and he mean what he says. Being quiet and passive with your players and coaching staff and not holding each and everyone them accountable for their actions and performance, in unacceptable and it will get you in the hot seat to be fired. Coach Richt appears as if he does not have control of his players, and the entire team. Coach Mark Richt had better wake up and get total control of his players and coaching staff. If the players are not performing up to his potential, Coach Mark Richt have a duty, and a responsibility as a Head Football Coach to bench that player. if your Offensive Coordinator are not performing to your standards, and the team is not responding well to the play calling, then you need to take over the play calling and terminate the Offensive Coordinator. The time is now Coach Mark Richt to take control of your Team before your team and coaching staff take control of you. Food For Thought.

Any high school football coach who watched the game last nite would have been appalled at the elementary mistakes made time and time again by the dawgs. Just watch Ealy run into a tackler with the ball in one hand, and what followed, a FUMBLE. He has done this all year, and is still doing it. Elementary my dear Watson!!! Cost us a TD too. How come the staff tolerates this is way beyond me. I say, he won’t listen. So, send him home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I rarely say I told you so – but I saw this one coming. Fr. QB playing Garcia and Mallet – 2 of the first 3 SEC games on the road, new 3-4 D, usually takes 1 to 2 years to learn. I warned we may be 1-3 at this point, and I thought 7-5 may be a good record. We fired Willie remember? CTG is much, much better, but it takes time to get the personnel and install the 3-4. DeAngelo Tyson – great DT in the 4-3 – not a good NG in the 3-4. And we’re sure learning the 3-4 alot faster than Tech!

Losing Robey and Rogers on signing day sure hurts now, both those guys could have helped us…

We are not that far off…lets see we can’t score, our defense can’t stop the run or cover the pass…hmm kick coverage is better on kickoffs…they won’t get much practice with our offense.
Kick off return team should be great by the end of the year with all the points our defense will give up. No wonder the DC was our third choice…no clue or adjustments.
Hard to believe we a top tier team a little over 3 years ago.

Georgia’s #1 porblem is they make decisions based on hypotheticals instead of real world tests.

Example, Aaron Murray as QB over Logan Gray or Hutson Mason. Also, Joe Cox as QB was a poor decision last year.

These guys need an on the field try out, and the winner is the QB. That’s the only way to get that decision right.
