Georgia an underdog at Mississippi State?
Georgia has not lost a football game to Mississippi State since 1974. Georgia has not lost in Starkville, Miss., since 1951.
But as of Wednesday night most Vegas sports books had Mississippi State as a 1-point favorite over Georgia in Saturday’s game in Starkville.
These are strange times, indeed, in UGA football.
As you know all too well, Georgia lost at South Carolina for the first time in 10 years and lost to Arkansas for the first time in 17 years and is 0-2 in the SEC for the first time in 17 years.
The next streak on the line is Georgia’s nine consecutive victories over Mississippi State. That streak dates to a 38-14 UGA loss in 1974 in Jackson, Miss.
The schools have played only 21 times in football despite both being charter members of the SEC. They have met only twice since 1997. Georgia leads the series 16-5.
Georgia’s all-time record in Starkville is 4-1, the lone loss a 6-0 defeat in 1951. Georgia won in Starkville in 1982, 1988, 1996 and 2005.
The teams also played three times in Jackson, most recently in 1974. Georgia was 1-2 in those games.

Muschamp won’t be it. Richt will be back for 2011 if we lose the rest…..He’ll be 2 years closer FROM NOW in line for that Texas job. Who knows. Hiring a coach is a gamble.Do you look for young and up and coming or seasoned and proven?

since georgia folks think they can’t win without AJ Green then yeah, they should be an underdog….but it is not just not having AJ that is the problem…the whole world knows that the bigger problem is the new BoZo DC…he can’t coach defense worth a flip and BooBoo the OC can’t coach the offense out of a wet paper bag…that is the real reasons why georgia is the underdog and will lose this game. I can’t help but smile.

…I don’t give a d*** whether CMR is laid back & cool under pressure or whether he burns with the intensity of 1000 suns — just win baby. There are plenty of programs that suck and have hotheaded authoritarians as coaches, and there are plenty of good programs with calm, reserved coaches. All of you who think that winning is somehow related to the head coach being a fiery SOB are sorely mistaken. If a coach has a crappy season, he should be given a chance to bounce back. If it does not happen, he should be replaced. It’s as simple as that. CMR earned a substantial amount of credit with the UGA administration and fans due to several successful years. As such, he has been given a substantial amount of time to turn it around. 2006 was a crappy season by UGA standards (by UGA standards, I mean more than 3 losses). Richt bounced back in 2007. 2008 was a disappointment and 2009 was a crappy season by UGA standards. 2010 is Richt’s year to bounce back again, and it is not looking good thus far. There are plenty of games left to turn this season into a successful season, but if this does not happen, it’s replacement time!

Everyone makes light of being underdawgs to MSU but then you brag about the SEC. Maybe you should play Ole Miss…oh that’s right, they lost to an FCS team.
Bama is the only legit team out fo the SEC this year. Period. Auburn should have lost to an incompetent Daba team that choked. Ole Miss sucks as does Vandy, UK and Tennessee. LSU will lose 99 out of 100 to an NC team that doesn’t miss over half their starters. The gaturds have struggled every game to a bunch of nobodies including a very bad UT team.
Only one team has any bark in the SEC. And they will lose to a team that actually has a starting QB in a NC game.
